Where am I? That was the only question I had on my mind when I first woke up. The world spun around me, a blur of colors and shapes. It was nauseating, to say the least. Then the shapes started to make sense. The ground began to slowly build itself, the sky growing with it. It was like the world was building itself in minor chunks.
This is GlitchNet. The most advanced IR game that has ever been made. IR being Immersive Reality, for those of you that don't know. It all works by attaching itself to the neurological pathways in your brain, affecting what you see, feel, hear…like having a headset and VR goggles on, but all in your head. It completely replaces reality and lets you experience a brand new world.
And GlitchNet? Well, it's one of the biggest ones ever. A completely open world adventure with some of the most in depth features that are possible. You can do anything from slaying foes to making a farm, or even getting it on with the ladies if that's your sorta thing. I'm here for one reason, and one reason only - Money. Cold, hard cash that I can spend in the real world.
You see, there are items in the GlitchNet's virtual world, The Glitchverse, that can sell for up to 100,000 dollars in the real world. That isn't why I'm here, though. I am here for the most sought after item in any video game that has ever existed - The Glitch Star. (These names are sooooo original, I swear. It's giving me a Glitch-Headache.)
The Glitch Star, for the few that don't know anything about Video Games, is the big hero's power source. The thing that allows the main character to manipulate the world around him in ways that make absolutely ZERO sense. Like, I'm talking some Earth-Water-Fire Bending shit taken to a whole 'nother level. I'm pretty sure the way people describe it is being able to manipulate the code of the simulation to his whim.
Now, I dunno what a whim is, but this star seems to be really powerful. One, because of its abilities, and two, it sells for upward of ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS! Like, what other video game item sells for millions?! This thing has gotta be good!
But it wouldn't be expensive if it was easy to obtain. The star is always with Glitch himself, giving him constant power that he uses to fight off the Darklanders. Y'know, from the Darklands.
Then, as sudden as I had gotten there, an explosion went off about a mile to the north. Either that was a player being dumb, or a plotpoint that I need to get to.
Either way, I was curious.
