Oh boy, was I in for a shock. Try to imagine for a second, okay? Imagine you ran a mile, avoiding weird little slime creatures and flowers trying to attack you every couple of feet, only to come to a town being burnt to a crisp by a demon in a nice looking suit with blazing red hair floating up in the air as people are screaming and running for their life.
Honestly, this was crazy for any video game.
"Hey, demon dude!" I yelled at the, well, demon dude. He didn't stop what he was doing. Instead, he just yelled back in a bit more of a calm voice than I gave him. "I'm busy, go away."
"Uh, yeah, about that, I'm kinda assuming this is a boss fight or something, and I'm pretty sure if I beat you, I'll get a little bit closer to finding Glitch, so…" I didn't wanna give him any crap. These NPC-esque computer AI's were way more advanced than anything, say 100 years ago? I dunno, just a guess. Players could be as self aware as they want, and yet the AI would respond in any way they wanted, even acknowledge they're an AI.
But to get back to the story at hand since most of you have attention spans no longer than ten seconds. From that, he turned around, ending his sadistic death flames or whatever, and just grinned. "I can either be one of the hardest bosses you ever fight, or the strongest ally you will ever have. All depending on how you and G get along."
After that, he just kinda vanished. Like, seriously. A flame erupted from the ground, and when it had disappeared, he was gone. Weirdest shit I've ever seen. Anyways, after that I had no clue what to do. I just kinda started to wander through the woods for a while. No clue how long. Don't ask.
All I know is that I was walking somewhere at a steady pace. I also knew the sun was starting to set, and I didn't want to be caught by a bunch of demons and vampires while I only have Level 1 Beginner gear. So, I had two options - Build a small little shelter, which would take about an hour, or try to find a small town nearby in order to stay the night in the streets or something.
Lucky for me, I at least know a little bit about the map. I was currently in the Sakura Forest, just north of the Field of Dreams, formerly known as the Unfinished Dream in its beta. If I go east a little bit, I should be at either the Lily Bed or Sakura Town.
But there was a slight issue. Both could work. I didn't know where to go, honestly. The Lily Bed is a protective area against Demonic creatures, and Sakura Town is a good place to get a drink and maybe meet some people. Eh, I'm sure I'll figure it out.
