*Quick note* I'm skipping Kenneth's and Epic's first chapters because that's pretty much rewriting what Evan wrote and yes I'm continuing The Cartoon Continuum I just wanted to do this before I determine where to go with chapter 2.

Also for the record everyone's ages present day go as follows:
Kenneth=14 ¾
Ace=13 ¾
Epic=14 ½
Liv=15 ¼

Mac=12
Bloo=9
Ben and Gwen=16

Also note that the current part of the war takes place in 2013.

Chapter 1:

Ace, the Cadet:

Part 1: They Failed

November 2005, The Pimpleback Mountains

"Come on Bonsai!" A young boy shouted ushering his friend forward. He was a young boy with slightly tanned skin but what was peculiar about the boy was his wavy sky blue hair. He was also wearing a red shirt and green pants but was also decked out in climbing gear.

"Just wait Ace!" His friend panted, climbing up the mountain. "I need to catch my breath."

Ace looked at his friend before smiling and sitting down next to his panting friend. Meet Ace he's you're typical 5 year old boy friendly and happy yet adventurous and fun too. A week after his fifth birthday he created his new best friend.

Bonsai was an imaginary friend. Bonsai is a rather tall friend compared to his creator reaching about 5'5'', he is covered in blue fur and the most interesting thing is that on the top of his furry scalp is a bonsai tree with blue leaves currently he had climbing gear on as well. He had been getting used to his owner but overall he felt that the kid wasn't so bad.

"Alright I'm ready." Bonsai says getting up and proceeding to climb the mountain. Ace quickly followed behind his imaginary friend.

"How are you doing kids?" A man with stubble and black hair with wisps of blue at the ends who wore a white button down shirt with a black vest over it and formal brown pants over those of course we wears his climbing gear.

"We're fine dad!" Ace called back to his father who smiled up at his son.

Normally Ace's father Norman wouldn't like to bring his young son and his imaginary friend on a 'business trip' but after his wife's death he didn't want to leave the two alone when they needed their father the most. Despite the fact that it was heavily advised not to bring children on WHOOP business and that his partner Jerry would kill him for just doing a short scope out of the mountain three hours before they were supposed to go and do their mission. Plus if Ace, is gonna grow up and be a hero like his old man then of course learning things like scaling a mountain will come in handy one day.

Looking up he saw that Ace and Bonsai are already at the top of the mountain jumping up and down in excitement.

"We did it!" Ace shouted in glee. "We did it Bonsai!"

Norman smiled at his son and his imaginary friend. Heroism can wait, for now my boy should enjoy his child hood. He thought as he reached the top of the mountain he gave his son his trademark grin. "Great job son, you couldn't have done better!"

"Thanks dad!" He smiled.

December 2005, WHOOP HQ

"You brought him up Peter Duncan's mountain?" Garrison the current head of WHOOP was asking Norman. Garrison was a slightly balding man with jet black hair wearing a black suit and had a very stern look on his face.

Norman who was now dressed in a striped black and white shirt, black pants, and had white makeup on his face sighed. "Yes sir I brought my son up the mountain."

Garrison furrowed his brow. "This is exactly what happened to Maria, Norman!"

"What happened to my wife is completely different than taking my son out for a bit of fun!" Norman shouted at him.

"Watch your tone Norman!" Garrison yelled at him. "You know very well that your wife died due to your mistakes of letting her and our enemies see too much of your personal life and your work!"

Norman sighed. "Calm down, Garrison."

"No, listen!" Garrison commanded but sighed. "You can't bring little Ace into this world. It's too dangerous for a boy his age to be around official WHOOP business. We already have civilians getting hurt and some killed in some cases we don't need the entire family of one of our top agents blown off the map just because of your carelessness."

"Sir, you know I'd protect both Ace and Bonsai with my very life." Norman replied.

"You had said the same thing about Maria." Garrison sighed. "Listen, I'm telling you that you need to be way more careful Norman." He got up from his desk and walked towards his friend. "Norman. I'm trying to help you, and I just don't want to see you lose what's left of your family to one of WHOOP's enemies like Peter Duncan, Sunder, or even the Gang Green Gang."

"Alright," Norman says quietly.

Garrison looks at him. "Turn that frown upside down," he laughs at the 'mime' with a frown who wasn't budging. "That's an order agent!" The agent chuckles knowing that Garrison doesn't use formalities with the agents he's closer with.

"Now tell me, how did it go in France with Le'Mime?" He asks returning to his desk and opening up on the electronic file on his desk.

March 2008, Dizzy World:

"No way?" Ace asked his father in such surprise.

"Yep, happy birthday kiddo." His father said patting him on the back.

Ace looked at Bonsai; the biggest smile ever plastered on the two young boys faces. Ace had been on many trips with his dad, though it hasn't been many as of recent, but this was his favorite of all. His father, himself and Bonsai were going to spend an entire day at Dizzy World.

"Come on!" Ace yelled at the two as he rushed for the entrance to the famed amusement park. Bonsai laughed and followed his creator with his father close behind. The three then had a fun-filled day with laughing and overall family togetherness. Ace enjoyed his eighth birthday and considers it one of the best days of his life.

Nearing the end of the day Ace, Norman and Bonsai were walking around the theme park trying to find something to do when they saw a strength test both.

"Ooooh! Ooooh! Let's do that!" Ace said running towards the short line. Bonsai and Norman followed the energetic seven year old to the game.

"Hey watch it!" A kid yelled at Ace as he bumped into him. The boy had wavy brown hair, green eyes and wore a white t-shirt with a black strip going down the middle, green cargo pants, black and white tennis shoes and not to mention the scowl he wore on his face. What was most interesting about the boy was the unusual watch he wore on his right arm that was mostly black in color but on the face plate it was a green and black hourglass symbol, it almost looked otherworldly.

"Sorry, I was just excited and ran into you." Ace replied.

"Ya, well next time try and look where you're going!" the boy yelled at him.

"Ben!" Yelled a voice in front of the two, 'Ben' turned to look at a girl with auburn hair and green eyes wearing a blue shirt with a cat symbol on it as well as lavender pants and white shoes. "Leave the kid alone he just meet you!"

Ben frowned at her. "But gwen he-"

"Now, now" An old man in a Hawaiian shirt and beige pants revealed himself. "Just leave the kid alone and tell him you're sorry."

Ben grumbled. "I'm sorry…"

"It's ok." Ace replied.

"Next!" The attendee at the stand called. The strength test consisted of 7 equal sections. Those sections in order were: 'puny' 'weak' 'wimp' 'shrimp' 'average' 'nice…' 'wow' and finally above the bell was the word 'STRONG'

The girl Gwen smiled as she went to take her turn. She grabbed the mallet and swung down on the plank. The little bar moved up to the 'average' section.

"Cool!" She shouted in glee.

"Pick your prize." The man said and Gwen walked away with a small plastic watch.

"Next!" The man called.

"Now it's time to show you a real ranking dweeb!" Ben shouted at Gwen.

Gwen scoffed as he grabbed the mallet and swung down on the plank. The bar moved up to 'wimp'. Gwen, Ace, and Bonsai burst out laughing.

"You're right," Gwen said between bursts of laughter. "Even at my top form I could never beat that."

Ben grumbled before he glared at Ace and Bonsai. "Let's see you two try!"

"Bring it on!" Ace said looking at the boy with a defiant look on his face.

Ace reared back and just as he was about to him the plank Ben had shouted "MISS!" slightly bringing the mallet off course and onto Ben's foot. "OW!" Ben yelled as Gwen and Bonsai laughed at the hero's misfortune. Ace soon joined in with the two laughing.

"No fair!" Ben whined.

"Guess you're not cut out for this kind of thing, Ben." Gwen laughed.

The boy grumbled and them.

Gwen was able to regain her composure first. "Sorry about my cousin you know how some people can be."

Bonsai stopped laughing and gestured to Ace. "Go ahead, Ace it's your turn."

Ace nodded and swung the hammer down on the plank. He hit it and it rose up to the 'nice…' section. The booth attendant looked impressed before nodding, and telling Ace to pick his prize.

Ace picked some generic prize that didn't mean much.

"My turn!" Bonsai eagerly shouted, he grabbed the mallet and swung.

However just as he was about to hit the plank it was grabbed out of the air by something.

"Sorry little man, it's my turn." A gruff voice announced from behind.

We turn to see something peculiar. Surprisingly, one of the aliens on the news appears behind us grabbed the mallet. It was the big red one that had four muscular arms and wore black skin tight pants and the usual white shirt with the black stripe that they all usually wear. On his right shoulder was the usual green hourglass symbol that could be found on these aliens as well as their green eyes.

"Hey, not cool!" Bonsai shouted at the four armed alien before us.

Fourarms then slammed the hammer down on the plank and the marker rocketed up to the 'STRONG!' section.

"And that's how you do it!" the alien laughed.

Ace rolled his eyes. "Yeah, it would be easy for everyone to get strong if they had four huge arms."

"Seriously, Be- er… Four armed monster man that wasn't cool." Gwen scolded him.

"Whatever," The red hulk rolled his eyes, "it doesn't really matter, you're all just jealous."

Bonsai growled, "Why I oughta-"

Suddenly the hourglass symbol on his shoulder started flashing red, an incessant droning noise was heard.

The alien gave a poker face and said his farewells. "Well it's been fun and all but, um… Bye!"

And like that eh alien bounded away going somewhere off in the distance.

"That was strange…" Bonsai shrugged.

"Yeah…" Ace agreed. He turned to Gwen. "What do you think-"

Bonsai scratched his head in wonder. "Where'd she go?"

"Girls…" Ace laughed.

June 2009, Orchid Bay

Ace dodged a swipe from Bonsai and quickly sent a punch of his own at the imaginary friend, however he was able to jump away.

Norman inspected the two from the floating platform that he stood atop. Their fighting was certainly improving that was for sure. But was it really enough for whatever Ace had to overcome in his time.

Norman smiled, Am I really ready to let him go out there? Get into the game like I have?

He continued to survey their combat, training the young boy was important, as you never know what'll happen in this world. I mean with weirdoes like Mojo, The Vreedles, the Ice King, those weird monsters roaming around their neighborhood and that Chase Young guy running around it was completely rational to train his ten year old and his imaginary friend self defense.

If something were to happen to him then they'd be all on their own. He knew that Jerry had agreed to take the both of them in if it came to that, but it still worried him.

He then returned his gaze to Bonsai and Ace who were still prancing around. Ace was a rough fighter, he was tough for a little 10 year old, he would send powerful punches at test dummies and opponents he had asked to fight him. As for Bonsai he was quick, he bounced around like no mans business and sent quick kicks and punches at people.

"Ace you're battle stance is all wrong, you can't be hunched over like that." Norman told his son.

Ace stood up straight and was able to throw a better punch at the imaginary friend.

Norman nodded before turning to Bonsai, "Bonsai, you've got the right idea jumping around like that but you also need to make sure that you stick the landing. Your enemies will be able to land attacks when you try to get your footing."

Both his son and his imaginary friend followed his orders, precisely.

Both Ace and Bonsai were both turning up to be great fighters he had noticed that. But he was worrying that a certain rivaling agency would take notice.

Providence seemed to be spying on them more and more nowadays and since Norman was a top agent it was obvious that they would go after him as well.

He looked off to the side just to see a leg disappear around a corner. It could've been paranoia or perhaps he actually saw it. One thing was for sure he was concerned and he had to train the two boys quickly before it was too late.

September 2009, Orchid Bay

Ace was currently on his way from his home in Orchid Bay to the electro-bus system in Marquee Row. He had to make it to the electrobus that arrived promptly at 6:55 otherwise he wouldn't make it on time.

"Hey kid." A voice called to him from one of the buildings behind him. He turned to see who had called him.

The man was standing between two of tall blue buildings resting leisurely along the wall as if he were waiting for him. He wore a green suit that hung easily off him as if he didn't care that much about his appearance, it didn't help that his tie wasn't even tied. Along with that he had a hard face, thin and stoic with a defined jaw line. Along with that he had a goatee and was completely full of mystery as he had dark rectangular shades that completely hid his eye color. Ace couldn't help but notice that his hands kept inching towards the inside of his sleeves. This made Ace a little nervous and made him step back.

The man stepped out of the street corner and stepped towards the young boy. "You seem to have unusual talents that we think may be beneficial to our organization."

Ace shrugged. "Yeah I know, WHOOP has always been interested in me. I am Agent Norman's son, after all."

The man laughed. "Kid, the organization I have in mind is much better qualified to harbor and develop your young talents. WHOOP is nothing compared to us."

"Strange," Ace shrugged. "I always thought WHOOP was the top organization."

"WHOOP is highly incompetent and one day it will disappoint you. Providence is a much better organization. Have you ever heard of it?" The man asked Ace.

"Sure, everyone has." Ace answered. "You take care of Evos and also have a bunch of agents who do all kinds of things."

"Yes and we think that we can train you to become a real agent, a hero even." He explained, making sure to put emphasis on the word hero to interest the boy.

"I've always wanted to go to WHOOP though." Ace answered.

The man smiled, he couldn't help but admire the boy's loyalty. "Think about it."

He then reached into his pants pocket and gave the boy a card. The card was for Providence.

"Think about it, okay?" He asked the boy.

He was reading the card but then stopped and called out to the man. "Hey what's your name?"

The man was gone though.

Ace looked at the card one more time thought. It was tempting to join Providence, but it would disappoint his father. The idea that WHOOP would disappoint was foreign though. He would think about it but he knew he would stay with WHOOP.

Febuary 2009, Eternal Vistas

"We are gathered here today to commemorate the death of a man who was important to all of us." The Funeral Director groaned on, clearly not wanting to be there. "Garrison Hartford the III was a wonderful man who was devoted to his work, his friend and most importantly his family. As the head as an organization such as WHOOP it's no wonder that he had such a fantastic life."

Ace nodded as he held both his father's and Bonsai's hands. Uncle Garry's death was quite a surprise to the boy. Besides his mother's this is really the first funeral he had been to.

Uncle Garry was really his father's friend but Ace knew him well enough. From the few times in his life that Ace had met the man he was very nice to him. He often gave both him and Bonsai little gifts like candies and small toys.

He didn't know that the man was actually the head of WHOOP however he did know that he was a friend of his father's and that both of them worked at WHOOP.

He continued listening to the rather boring ceremony however he couldn't help but think back to what the man he had encountered had said to him. That WHOOP would fail him.

Maybe he was right... Maybe he was right.

May 2010, Peach Creek Estates

"I still don't understand why we have to send him to Foster's…" Ace sighed sadly.

Norman sighed, he didn't really want to do it but after Jerry had informed him of the possibility of an alien invasion on a large scale was on the way he wanted Bonsai to be protected. It might hurt both Ace and Bonsai but it was better for them to be apart if it meant both of them could be watched carefully. He just didn't think he could do it alone, if the threat seemed to solve itself then they would just readopt Bonsai and the problem would be solved.

"I just think Bonsai needs to be around his own kind for a little while." Norman answered.

"But I'm perfectly fine living with you guys!" Bonsai pouted. "Come on dad, don't do this…"

Norman bit his tongue. Dad, he always thought of Bonsai as a son. He always knew that Bonsai thought the same but it was just too painful for him to call him dad now.

"You'll like it at Foster's, Bonsai." Norman insisted. "I made sure it was perfect for you. You'll make some new imaginary friend friends and Ace can visit you here as much as he wants."

"It's a long way from here back to Orchid Bay, dad." Ace commented.

"I'll make the effort to make sure you see him whenever you want, Ace." Norman insisted.

Both Ace and Bonsai gave up making small talk. It would be the last time they would really be together.

Finally they made their way into the Foster's Home district.

All of a sudden something jumped out of the bushes and lunged for both Ace's head.

"Move!" Norman shouted tackling his son to the ground.

Norman turned around ready to face whatever creature was there and looked down to see a tiny gelatinous ball of goo with red eyes and a mouth that was jagged as if to represent the teeth that were currently not visible.

"Jerry was right…" Norman whispered to himself.

"What is that thing?" Bonsai asked as he looked at the tiny monster in fear.

Norman growled. "Stay back, both of you!"

The two boys looked at each other before nodding and stepping back.

Norman quickly pulled out a laser pistol hoping to dispose of the creature but it lunged towards him and managed to envelop his face.

The creature soon began to cover his entire face, cutting off his air support and burning his skin. He dropped his gun and desperately tried to pry the creature off his face but to no avail.

He turned back to Ace and Bonsai who jumped back in surprise, he knew he wasn't going to make it.

"Ruhg!" He shouted, his voice distorted by the monster suffocating him.

"What?" Bonsai asked.

"Dad!" Ace screamed, running towards him but Bonsai grabbed him.

"Let me go Bonsai!" Ace shouted.

Ace shook his head, tears streaming down his face. "No, I have to go and save dad!"

"Ruhg!" Norman shouted to his sons once more.

Three more of the same types of monsters began advancing on Norman as he fell to his knees.

"Dad!" Ace shouted once more.

"No Ace, we can't stay here." Bonsai pushed him ahead of him before running away and getting ahead of the boy and grabbing his hand dragging him behind him.

The spawns began to chase after him as well.

"B-but dad Bonsia!" Ace choked.

Bonsai didn't answer, he knew the truth and didn't want to dwell on it, not now when their lives were at stake. "Just keep running!"

The two ran as the three monsters quickly hobbled after them. However due to Ace's reluctance the monsters quickly caught up with them.

Bonsai pushed Ace in front of him. He then turned to the monsters behind them.

"Come on you little globby creeps!" Bonsai shouted threateningly. "I eat gelatin like you all the time I can take you on!"

"Bonsai!" Ace shouted.

"Run Ace, run!" Bonsai commanded.

The tears in Ace's eyes became to well up even more, "But Bonsai I need you!"

"Go Ace!" Bonsai shouted as he tried to kick one of the monsters only for it to stick to his leg. "Uh-oh…"

Ace looked at his imaginary friend and sighed. "Bonsai…" Ace pleaded.

"Go, Ace…" Bonsai insisted before one of the gelatinous creatures lunged for his face.

Ace sighed before turning away. They made short work of Bonsai before going for Ace.

He ran and ran but unfortunately for him he was too slow. He tried desperately to get away but it was no use.

"No-o!" The boy shouted as one of the monsters lunged for him.

"Shoku Astro: Wind!" A calm voice announced before a gust of wind blew the spawn back.

"What…" Ace asked, some of the tears subsiding.

A boy jumped in front of him, he only saw the boy's back but the boy didn't seem concerned with that as he shouted, "Wudai Crater: Earth!" He then slammed his foot on the ground and the pavement came up like a wave launching the creatures in the sky.

"Wudai Mars: Fire!" A feminine voice shouted. And like that four fire balls shot out at the creatures engulfing them in flames and ending their miserable lives.

Ace looked up as the boy who had landed in front of him held out a gloved hand down to him. "You okay, partner?" The boy asked.

Ace looked up at him and saw that boy had sky blue eyes and blonde hair that was mostly hidden by a ten gallon hat, which was actually nine gallons, and freckles. He wore a bandanna around his neck, a button down blue shirt that was a few shades lighter than his eyes, blue jeans and brown leather cow boy boots. He was bulky in build as well.

Ace didn't answer.

"It's a good thing we came here or I don't know what would have happened." The first voice had commented.

Ace turned to see the boy of average build and tanned skin. He was wearing a Brazilian soccer shirt, khaki pants and white, orange and green sneakers. He also had brown eyes and brown hair.

"Shut up Rai," The girl mumbled to him before elbowing him.

The petite girl was Asian and had her hair back and wore a black shirt and blue jeans.

"Are you okay, sweetie?" She asked.

"I- I don't know." Ace answered sadly, most of the tears cleared from his eyes.

"Cheer up, partner." The cowboy had said. "Now why don't you tell us what happened."

"I don't want to." Ace answered.

The Brazilian, apparently Rai, sighed. "Maybe we should take him to the Xiaolin Temple, he seems to be in shock."

Ace shook his head. "No."

"No?" The 'Rai' asked.

"No, I just want to go home." Ace answered.

"Where do you live?" The girl had asked. "I'm sure we'll be able to take you there."

"Orchid Bay." The boy answered.

"That's not close enough, partner. To take you there would be like trying to lead the snake back to its den from the water trough in the hot Texas sun." The Western commented.

'Rai' shrugged. "Maybe we could take him on Dojo?"

"No." The girl shook her head, "A dragon would freak him out right now. Maybe we could ask the guys at Foster's to take him on their bus?"

"Okay, well there's Mac right now." 'Rai' commented.

"Mac!" The girl had called to the boy on the side of the road.

The 9 year old jogged over to them. "What's up, Kimiko?"

Mac was a boy with chestnut brown hair and with chocolate brown eyes. He wore a red short sleeved shirt with a white sweater under it as well as green pants. On his back was a green backpack.

"Do you think you could get Frankie to take this guy home?" Kimiko –appararently- asked. "He lives in Orchid Bay."

"Why don't you guys take him on Dojo?" Mac asked.

Rai rolled his eyes. "Kimiko is too scared that he'll be creeped out by Dojo."

"Good point." Mac answered. "Come on, I'll take you to Fosters'"

Ace nodded and he went with the other boy to the orphanage for imaginary friends. The girl, Frankie had reluctantly agreed. Once he was home in that empty house Ace called Jerry to spend the night with him. The man who was now the head of WHOOP reluctantly agreed and he told him everything.

May 2010, WHOOP Headquarters

Several days after the deaths of Bonsai and Norman Ace stood in Jerry's office.

"So now my boy," Jerry addressed him, he had just sent Sam, Clover and Alex on a mission just moments before. "I assume you'll be coming under my custody; however I would like to know what you would like to do?"

"I don't want to go with you, Uncle Jerry." Ace answered.

Jerry gasped; he hadn't expected him to say that, he expected Ace to just go along with it. "Why is that?"

Ace shook his head. "Jerry, you're the head of WHOOP aren't you?"

"I guess it's no secret," The top agent sighed. "Why?"

"Then you could've saved both my dad and Bonsai at least one of them." Ace sighed. "In fact, I was only saved because of those element guys who live near Foster's."

"Ace, please try to understand…" Jerry sighed. "Norman doesn't like us to spy on him, he had specifically requested that."

"That's not the point though," Ac replied. "You guys failed, I had been brought up to trust WHOOP my whole life and when I need you most you guys weren't there for me."

"Ace, it's not like that at all." Jerry insisted.

"I'm sorry Jerry, but I just can't stand to be here or with you right now."

"So what are you saying?" Jerry sighed in defeat.

Ace looked down sadly before answering. "I'm going to Providence."

"You couldn't possibly-"

"I'm sorry." Ace answered, "But I don't have a choice."

"But you're only 10 years old!" Jerry insisted. "Providence will tear you apart!"

"I'll see you later Jerry." Ace said before walking out of WHOOP HQ.

There the man that had approached him the year before was waiting in an armored vehicle.

"You made the right choice." He smirked.

Ace sighed. "I don't know,"

The man smirked. "You'll see, it'll be the best decision you've ever made."

Ace nodded. "Alright, Mr…"

"Six." He answered. "Call me Agent Six."

End chapter.

Yeah, I still think this was bad but the next time we say Ace we'll be getting into Providence where he'll meet Jim Morales and Brick McArthur as well as more of Agent Sixx. I don't know about Rex because technically he's supposed to be top secret. Not only that we'll have a couple of Providence OC's.

New A/N:
Hi, present day Ways again. One of the big things that I wanted to set up in my universe is that Providence and WHOOP were two organizations that had a lot of beef with each other. Ace as a character is someone you have seen or will see that I have directly affiliated with Providence and wanted to give reason why.
I think I had wanted to give the idea of Ace as a character in some ways "turning over to the dark side" after deaths in his family that were ultimately unavoidable. But him, being a child and not really understanding what had happened and just being angry would lead to all of that.
I think if I were to do this now, I'd have eventually had Ace reconnect with WHOOP over the Fusion war and find peace and maybe be a major step into both WHOOP and Providence finding peace as well. But idk lol.
