Time for Liv's first chapter of origins. I think I've finally decided how this is gonna work. This is the first time we're gonna see a lot of Gus which is the first time we're going to see one of the Golden Explorers in action through the ages. But yeah, let's get this show on the road.

CNUD Origins

Chapter 2:

Liv, The Mysterious:

Part 1: I Hate School

Boarding school at Kadic Academy had always been a fun time for many students. The various alumni gave the school have the fondest memories of the place and often came back for various reunions no matter where they were in the world. The school had managed to build a very good community with very happy pupils.

If everyone enjoyed Kadic Academy so much then how come it ended up becoming a living hell for a certain child of dark complexion; wavy dark hair and dark root brown eyes.

Liv Hex Braten did not enjoy his time at Kadic Academy, he hated it. Eventually he would end up escaping Kadic to go on to the greatest adventure of his life.

But how did Liv become so mysterious? How does all this talk of Kadic Academy relate to all of that? Where did it all begin? What happened to him?

August 2005, Kadic Academy: The Suburbs

"But momma, I don't want to leave!" The child pleaded with his mother.

Caroline Martha Braten smiled down at her six year old boy. "Don't worry Liv. You'll be fine, I promise."

"But how long will I stay there?" Liv asked.

"You'll be there for quite a long time Liv." His mother explained. "But don't worry, I'm sure you'll make lots of friends."

"But what about you, momma?" Liv asked.

"You'll be fine." She smiled at her son.

Liv nodded while his mother went off to the office as he waited in the secretary's office.

After a couple of minutes his mother excited the office with a man, he was taller than his mother by about a foot, but towered three feet over the small boy. He was a man with a brown, slightly graying beard and a moustache. He wore a root brown suit over a sweater of a lighter shade of brown and brown loafers. Along with all that he wore glasses with a tangerine colored frame.

"Yes, well everything seems to be in order," The man smiled. "Although his grades aren't that good we will be willing to take the child and whip him into a fine young man, just you wait."

The woman smiled. "Thank you Mr. Delmas."

"Please, call me Jean Pierre." He smiled.

The headmaster smiled and then turned to face the small boy staring up at him in bewilderment. "You are going to make a fine home right here at Kadic Academy, Mr. Braten, you will be quite appreciative of all of that."

September 2005

"Why don't you introduce yourself?" Mrs. Hertz had said to him.

It was the first day of second grade at Kadic. Liv was the new kid and all of them were just staring at him.

"M-m-my n-n-n-na-me is…"

"Look at him, he can't talk!" A boy at the end of the room exclaimed, to which almost everyone laughed.

Liv slightly shrunk back at that.

"Gus." Mrs. Hertz scowled. "That is no way to treat a new student."

The boy sighed. "Sorry Mrs. Hertz."

The teacher nodded and then turned to Liv. "Your name?"

"My name is Liv. Liv Hex Braten."

Mrs. Hertz smiled. "Pleasure to meet you, Liv. Welcome to Kadic Academy, everyone say welcome."

"Welcome to Kadic, Liv." All the students deadpanned.

Liv let out a small, albeit shaky smile and returned to his seat.

Mrs. Hertz then jumped into a science lesson for the young children, basic stuff.

When Liv sat down there was a boy next to him. He had blond hair and his glasses had his baby blue eyes behind a thick circular frame.

"Psst…" The young boy whispered to Liv.

Liv looked and saw the young boy smiling at him.

"What?" Liv whispered.

"Don't worry about Gus and the others." Jeremy said. "They're all like that."

Liv nodded. "Okay."

The boy grinned at him. "I'm-"

"No talking in my class, children!" Mrs. Hertz commanded, and the initial chatter of the class died down.

Jeremy looked around before finishing.

"I'm Jeremy Belpois. It's very nice to meet you, Liv."

"So this is my friend, Herb." Jeremy introduced Liv to the boy. Like Jeremy he had the same large glasses, but he had dark hair and wore mostly green.

"Hi." Liv shook his hand.

"Hello, it's nice to meet you." Herb smiled at him.

Liv nodded. "You too."

Jeremy nodded. "Herb and I are best friends, we're roommates and the two smartest kids in our class."

"I could tell." Liv said. "You and Herb answered most of the questions that Mrs. Hertz asked."

Herb agreed. "Well whatever we didn't answer you were able to come up with."

"Yeah, you've got quite the brain there yourself." Jeremy complimented.

"Eh, it's nothing really, mom always taught me when I was homeschooled made sure that I always understood." Liv explained.

"Looks like it paid off." Herb nodded.

Present Day Ways A/N:
And that's about as far as this chapter and this fic goes. I don't know what in particular made me give up on this particular chapter and story, but I did.
Funny that I didn't finish the origin of my own character lmfao.
Honestly and truly speaking there's not a ton to say about Liv here. My main thing with him was that he was supposed to be a victim of bullying and turned out as a rather aloof and strong silent type as a teenager in the Fusion War as well. Excellent characterization, teen Ways. Brilliant lmfao.
Okay, it's really not that bad in concept but the execution could definitely be a lot to be desired lol.
I used Kadic as a setting because of my clear Code Lyoko bias and wanting to expand the world of Fusionfall into a place we never visited before.
I think at the time, I thought it would've been interesting that at a younger age Herb and Jeremie were friends and threw Liv into that as well and that something along the way would've broken the three of them up, probably Sissi entering their lives and Herb being smitten, leaving poor Liv all alone.
