7. There's No Such Thing As White Lies (Damon and Frost)
Caitlin built a block of us between them as Damon took one step forward. She's standing at the door. Damon let out a sigh. He knew it'd not be easy but he still believed in his sister pure heart.
"There's nothing more you can explain, Damon." Her tone was sarcastic when she said his name. "If that's even your real name."
Damon eyes showed how he's hurting inside. "It's real. Everything was real. What we had was real."
"Nonsense! You don't age! That storyboard is a definite proof! You fooled me." She scoffed. "It made sense why you left after you're done with me. I didn't know what you gained at that time but you should know you managed to break who I was since the day you abandoned me."
Damon extended his hand and put his hand on the ice wall between them. "I'm sorry that I left you, little cupcake. Things went crazy. I had to cut you off to keep you safe."
Frost mumbled. "Why do people always think to keep you from the truth is the safe way?" She shook her head. "If you really are my Damon, you'd know that, he worships the truth. There's no such thing as – "
Damon continued her words. "- white, a lie is a lie." It made him feel even worse knowing how well she remembered him. He repeated from the beginning. "There's no such thing as white lies, a lie is a lie." His hand felt cold but he couldn't care less.
Her eyes went wide and her jaw dropped open. Though, she recovered quickly and hid the shock well. She turned her back on him while holding on the edge of the door. Out of nowhere she felt breathless.
Deep down she knew he was indeed her Damon Salvatore, her big brother who was once very important in her life. She knew it from the second they were reunited after years in the warehouse. Her heart knew it instantly when she looked into his deep blue eyes the night they were reunited. She just didn't want to believe it.
"Caitlin." His voice was soft and low, almost sounded like a moan. Frost turned around and couldn't hide it when she's quite surprised at Damon standing right in front of her already. He didn't budge being that close to her. There's merely inches gap between where they were standing.
She became aware. It showed in her gesture. Damon caught her arm when she was about to take a step back. He almost flinched at how cold she was under his touch. However, he tried not to show any negative reaction.
"Take off your hand!" She demanded coldly.
"No." He held both of her arms tight but gently. "Not until you fill me in all the years I've missed from your life." Damon did know her well. He could see all she needed most was someone to be there for her, to listen, understand and most importantly to make her feel that everything will be fine.
She inhaled a long breath. "You shouldn't get too close." Her voice sounded deep but softer, partly herself and partly her cold frost voice.
His eyes laid on the pin on one right side of her collar. It's a snowflake shaped pin he gave her before he left. She had always loved the snow, they both did like the cold season so he gave her that. He blinked his eyes to rid of the tears flooding his lenses. "Nothing will come between me and my little cupcake."
He's freezing that he exhaled white vapor when he breathed. He slowly wrapped his arms around her tiny body. She's fragile but so tough at the same time. She had missed him so bad. She's mad, upset, lonely because the one who had always been there, who promised her not to ever leave her, abandoned her in the end.
Damon was her only family she had left. He was everything to her. It may have triggered some mutated gene in her blood when her world turned upside down. Damon thought he had compelled her to forget and live her life to the fullest away from him but little did he know, something snapped her out of it.
"I am not your little sister anymore!" She shoved him away when he had just hugged for a few seconds. He was pushed so hard till he hit the ice block that's melting. He slipped on the melting ice and broke the ice block when he fell through it.
