So... still mid hiatus(I think I forgot to say I was on hiatus on this website) and all so if this chapter feels off in quality compared to other chapters I apologize in advance(and please do tell me). If I come back, read it and feel it's that bad I'll unpublished it and remake it. Sorry for the short chapter too. The hiatus isn't anything to do with me losing interest(for now) it's more of me becoming a lot busier than before.

It took a couple hours for the adrenaline from the battle to wear off Megumin's body. Her shaking hand finally calmed down and her heart rate normalized. The victory which she barely managed to get a hold of still fresh in her mind as the pain stabbed needles into her being-treated arm.

Her next fight wouldn't be in another day so she had plenty of time to recover with the help of the best healers around. Her arm was just about completely healed aside from the constant pain and should become completely functional again by the next hour.

It would be a lie to say Megumin hadn't been secretly been hoping to spot a familiar light blue haired healer amongst the legion of healers, but her wishes fell to deaf ears as no such thing occured. The healers provided certainly were amazing by the fact that they had all but healed a potentially life threatening injury in the matter of hours, but they were still nothing compared to Aqua.

Once again Megumin found herself pondering over the fate of the self proclaimed goddess who had an exceptional talent for healing. What had happened to Aqua that fateful day? Did she too disappear along with Kazuma? Or did she simply return to Alcanteria? Megumin could come up with a million question and a million unsatisfying "answers". As shockingly as it was she found herself missing the annoying girl who had never failed to lighten up the mood of the party.

Shaking her head, Megumin snapped out of her thoughts. Ever since Kazuma disappeared she'd been feeling awfully sentimental. It was a bad habit she developed; dwelling on the past. She knew it was better idea to move on and fix the errors of her past instead. One could argue that that is the same exact thing as dwelling on the past, but to Megumin the past was her future. She refused to live a life without the only boy who had been the only one to pull her heart strings. It would be impossible for her to ever feel whole again without him.

How she missed Kazuma, his lame jokes, his laziness, his long rants about equality, and heck, even his sexual harassment acts were fond memories to her. How she couldn't wait to find a way to bring him back and feel his embrace again.

Shaking her head once more, the Crimson Demon scolded herself for getting lost her in thoughts yet again. Ignoring the pain in her arm, she stood up. It was about time for the next round to start. While she wouldn't be participating, contestants who captured her interest will be fighting this round. Making her way to the nearest involved members only teleport pad, she once again made use of her privileges as a contestant to fast travel to her destination.

Having reached the fighting grounds right before the announcements began, Megumin immediately noted of the 3 fighters in the ring. Two of three were nobles she recognized as Clare and Rain. Princess Iris's personal body guards. They were the one she'd come to observe and they seemed to be part of the same team for whatever reason. And on the other side of the field was someone she didn't recognize.

The solo fighter's physique was one of a 12-13(?) year old girl, give or take. She has shoulder-length light purple hair with blunt bangs on either side and is wearing a mask that looks much like Vanir's. Except for the fact that the color scheme of the mask revolves around dark purple and light purple over the omniscient devil's black and white. And instead of painted black eyes like the Archduke of Hell, the girl's mask had a pair symmetrical bright yellow eyes.

Her clothing consists of a long sleeve horizontal stripe patterned one piece dress with the stripes, much like the mask, alternating between dark and light purple. The long sleeve portion covers up until her wrist, with the rest of her hand being covered by a purple glove. And the skirt portion covers up until slightly below her knee level, with the rest of her legs being covered by black stockings so that no skin is shown from both her legs and her arms. And below the stockings, the girl is wearing jester symmetrical jester shoes with a purple and yellow design (with the majority being purple), this interested (understatement) Megumin.

Through her excessive covering of her skin, the only parts of her actual skin that could be seen would be below her mask where the permanent smirk on her face resided. (no one has ever claimed to see her not smirking) The skin shown has a silky pale, yet beautiful snow white complexion.

Most of the time I'd consider writers who require to use of images to describe characters as "failures as writers" to some extent but as this is an OC, I created this image to help with visualization. It's definitely not the best drawing but it's the best I could do with my limited skill. And yes, the jester shoes are missing in this drawing as I couldn't find a way to get it work with this particular image. Keep in mind this image is just a rough idea on the character design so if you imagined her a different way you can continue imagining so.

Disclaimer : This image is just a slightly cropped and edited(and made worse) version of this art work : r/Undertale/comments/gzf9i4/underplayer_fanart/?rdt=55690)

"TO THE LEFT WE HAVE THE DUO TEAM OF CLARE AND RAIN! THE TWO NOBLES REPRESENTING THE BELZERG KINGDOM! WE HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS TEAM SPECIFICALLY IS ALLOWED TWO MEMBERS BUT IT STILL HASN'T BEEN QUESTIONED(PROBABLY OUT OF FEAR OF EXECUTION)!"

"TO THE RIGHT WE HAVE "NANAMI"(out of courtesy to my friend who suggested this temp name please give me a new one) WITH NO FURTHER INFORMATION ASIDE FROM THE FACT THAT SHE HASN'T DROPPED HER SMIRK EVER SINCE ENTERING THIS PLACE!"

"I THINK WE KNOW WHO THE MAJORITY ARE SIDING WITH HERE TONIGHT FOLKS. BUT EVEN SO EXPECT A GOOD FIGHT OR SOMETHING BETWEEN THESE TWO FORCES!"

"3, 2, 1, FIGHT!"

Given the signal the two nobles jumped into action. Clare leaped in front of Rain as Rain began channeling for some sort of spell. By the complex incantation and the power that began gathering around her staff this spell is certainly no joke.

Seeing this, the purple obsessed girl made a move of her own. Of... taking a step back and audibly yawning. No barriers were formed, no precautions were taken to defend against the spell, yet the act itself seemed to draw some sort of power confusing the audience.

"Miss Clare I'm ready." Rain informed. Having(possibly against the rules) consumed a quick casting item earlier, the incantation was completed quickly.

Hearing this, Clare stepped aside to allow Rush to cast her spell.

"DETONATION"

Detonation, the lesser form of Explosion that Megumin had read of during her excessive research on Explosion magic. It is essentially Explosion in every way, but weaker.

Although she probably had nothing to do with that specific choice of spell, a small prideful smirk crept its way up Megumin's face. While certainly not as impactful as Explosion, it should be more than enough to win against most opponents in one shot.

Layers after layers of fiery red rings circled Nanami as a pillar of what could only be described as pure power descended upon her. Give it a second or two and the spell would take effect. With the rings keeping the girl inside, Megumin noted this to be an unavoidable attack.

"Was all that channeling and yelling out the name part really necessary?"

Raising her gloved right hand to the air, the girl's voice seemed to somehow be the only thing that could be heard, piercing through the chaos and destruction of the spell. Perhaps due to the use of some magic.

"That spell is actually pretty dangerous you know? No matter how good a healer is resurrecting the dead isn't something possible around here. Isn't that right? What were you planning on doing if this spell actually killed me?"

"T-the power moderation takes place after I launch spell it- it shouldn't kill." Flustered, Rain waved her hands around frantically while justifying her actions.

"My my, thanks you for such a consideration! To think you thought this through before ending up in huge trouble. How noble of you."

**snap**

The sound resonated throughout the stadium, echoing off stone walls, likely reaching the other side of the building.

Responding to the girl's raised hand, the spell rings around her shattered like glass reduced to nothing but particles floating in the air. Then the particles flew into the girl's fingertips and disappeared.

The two nobles just watched in shock, mouths gaping wide open. I mean... come on. Could you blame them? Their "certain win spell" not only got avoided without any preparation but got decimated by the snap of a finger and to top it all off ... consumed?

"Oh wow, that was ...interesting. You seriously took that long just to cast this? This is straight up a watered down and easier to handle version of a different spell."

The smirk on her face widened even further.

"Here watch this. Detonation."

Mirroring the effects of the spell casted on her, spells circles formed around the two nobles. If there was any difference it was that the circles were purple and no longer red.

"Aaaaand boom."

Snapping her fingers one more, the spell immediately casted. Calling down power from above like an air strike as the impact of the spell filled the arena with smoke. Following the clearing of the smoke, the announcer's voice cut through the suspenseful tension.

"AND THE UNEXPECTED WINNER OF THIS FIGHT, NANAMI!"

Ok so, umm my first time writing in nearly a month due to being extremely busy so quality of the chapter may be lower than before(hopefully it'll recover by the next few chapters. And when that happens I'll come back to fix up this chapter). Just wanted to say the main point of this chapter is to introduce an OC to this story, who will be quite important to the plot. On another note, this OC is a character I've been planning on making an original story on someday. Because of that I'm making use of this website to see what kind of character people tend to like, so if you have any suggestions for or dislikes about the character please let me know in the comments.

Besides that just the usual stuff, please comment because I have no life(not really true as of now ig) and read every comment(this is still true) and also lack socialization(also still true). Let me know of any pacing, grammatical or spelling error and I'll fix it when I get to it. Have a great day!

Coolkinguu : 1. For my personal thoughts I actually distinguish then most of the time. The "notes" are more of Megumin's personal thoughts on the matter that she privately comments on in her head.

2: Thanks for the suggestion but someone already recommended me a different title before hand -_-. Just forgot to take the message down from this website.

3: I only specified it for a slight comedic effect and a (just my personal opinion) is made the rhythm for the sentence at least a bit smoother.

Guest (please add an alias for me to call you in replies if you ever comment again) for the W.D. Gaster comment I've read and enjoy Undertale comics but non of the trials were influenced by the comics so... kinda strange. Maybe I subconsciously did that? No idea.

For powerful Kazuma became thats for you to find out in the near(?) future ;)
