Three months later...

Goku relaxed his shoulders as he felt the cold, bitter taste of beer slit down his throat. He needed it, especially after an intense week of work. The pair of dark eyes, once predatory and now oblivious to the people around his table, moved between the friends he no longer saw every day, but who occasionally managed to find the time to go out and chat – after all, the nights out were no longer constant, now only happening once every fortnight or so, depending on the circumstances, but they still kept in regular contact by phone.

Krillin was commenting on the last stages of Lauzuli's pregnancy when suddenly Tien said:

"I'm going to ask Launch to marry me!"

The three friends stared at the taller bald man, his cheeks slightly flushed after revealing his intention so suddenly, but hearing his short friend talk about his pregnant wife with such emotion made him certain that this was exactly what he wanted for his life. To marry the blonde and maybe have children with her in the future.

"What?"

"Is that so?"

"Yes!" Tien replied firmly. "I've already bought the ring and everything."

"Holy shit!"

"That's... that's awesome, Tien! Congratulations!" Krillin smiled and congratulated his friend.

"That's great, man, I'm happy for you!" Goku smiled and patted his friend on the back.

"Thank you, thank you, but... you'd better save your congratulations for when she says yes." The tall bald man replied. "I've already got everything planned, it'll be next weekend, at the Crane's Chalet."

"Wow, good choice, champ!" Yamcha smiled and patted the other's arm.

"Ah, I went there with Lazuli once. It's a very romantic place." Krillin added. "I'm sure she'll say yes, pal."

"Yeah, I hope so!" Tien laughed and scratched the back of his head.

"I can't believe it, another one joining the married team..." Yamcha said as he put his arm around Goku's neck and continued "Now it's just you and me on the singles team. We'll have to arrange to go out more often and pick up some chicks!"

Goku just laughed, but didn't say anything and brought the beer bottle to his lips to take a sip. Yamcha broke away from his friend and continued: "Man, I saw a little bluenette outside the restroom, she's so hot! I'll look for her later. What about you, Goku? Haven't you found anything interesting yet?"

"Huh? Oh no, I'm fine!" The man with wild hair replied calmly.

The boys looked at each other.

"Are you going home alone again?" Yamcha arched his eyebrows.

Goku shrugged and took a sip of beer.

"Let me guess, you're seeing someone too and we don't know about it?" Tien asked. "Any chicks at the new job?"

"No, I'm not. I'm not seeing anyone." Goku replied calmly "For now I'm focusing on other things."

Which was true. Over the last few months, Goku had decided to change his routine, quit his job at the notary's office, and started working with what he really liked, which also required him to start looking for more specialization and constant learning. What's more, he had his dog to look after, which had been a lot of work for the first two months until he had brought him up properly, but he was still a puppy and would still chew all his shoes and underwear if the puppy had the chance. As a result, Goku's nights out had diminished, and even his internet pick-ups, which had dwindled to zero. He wasn't going out with anyone at the moment, flirting or chatting and, even though there were still beautiful women available who hit on him, Goku just ignored them. He was too busy with other matters in his personal life.

His days as a conqueror were officially behind him.

"Wow!" Tenhin whistled. "You've really changed, huh?"

"Or is he cursed?" Yamcha said.

"Nah... It's nothing like that!" Goku replied.

"Are you sure you really got rid of that witch's curse? It's been a while since you've been out with anyone..."

"Yes, I do," Goku said. "And Ribrianne isn't a witch, she's not a villain... I was!"

The three men were silent for a moment, not knowing exactly what to say. Until Yamcha said: "I know what it's about. It's heartbreak, isn't it? That's why I say it's no good falling in love..."

It was common knowledge that Goku had been devastated by how things had ended with Chichi, but perhaps they didn't realize the magnitude of it.

"But man, you know there's nothing better than another person to get over... a broken heart, right?!" Tien commented. "Give it a chance and see what happens."

"Nah, I'm cool!" Goku replied emotionless.

"Well, who knows when the right person comes along!" Krillin said and patted his friend on the back.

Goku just smiled and thought that she had already come along, but then shook his head and put the thought aside.

"Let's have a toast!" Whis suggested as he raised his glass of daiquiri.

"Here's to our future!" Cheelai added.

"Here's to success!" Chichi added.

"Here's to the Ox Princess!" Maroon exclaimed last.

All four clinked their glasses together in a short celebration.

"I can't believe! Our clinic is a success!" Cheelai said happily and Maroon nodded happily. The bluenette was the clinic's main receptionist and no longer just an intern. "I'm so happy that everything is working out.

"No kidding!" Chichi exclaimed. "After these last few months of pure stress, it had to work out, didn't it? I was almost going mad!"

"Ahhh... the arguments... yeah, I don't miss that part..." Whis muttered, hiding his mouth behind his glass. He remembered Chichi's outbursts at times during the organization and planning of the business, but he couldn't blame her, those were days of great struggle for all of them.

"The important thing is that the inauguration was a success, and everything is wonderful. But it's going to take a lot of work to keep it running smoothly!"

"That's it!" Cheelai agreed. "Now at least we can breathe a little."

"Hey, where's Hit? "Chichi asked, turning to Whis. "Wasn't he going to come here too?"

"Oh, he said he was going to be a few minutes late." The blond shrugged. "Now I want to know about you! Remember what your horoscope said today? That romance and high spirits are guaranteed and that your power of attraction is at an all-time high!"

Chichi rolled her eyes and waved her hands dismissively.

"I'd rather focus on the part that said the moon is moving into my astral hell and that I need to take a deep breath before embarking on any bullshit without thinking about the consequences. And if you keep on this matter, I'm gonna have to take a long and deep breath and a few more shots of daiquiris."

Whis snorted and rolled his eyes.

"Bleh, not funny. Seriously, darling, it's been over two months since you and Granolah broke up... if you ever started anything at all!"

Chichi shrugged and took another sip of her daiquiri. She had been so focused on her new business for the last few months that she hadn't even had time to think about men. Or she had tried to avoid thinking about a specific man at all costs.

Granolah and she had been together for just over two months, but things hadn't gone any further. She could blame her lack of time and focus on her professional goals as the main factors for the breakup, but the truth was something else and she knew it, although she tried not to think about it too much.

After Goku's sincere apology, it was difficult to maintain any relationship with the model. She could see some changes in the wild hair's man behavior and that, in a way, affected her. It made her question whether she had really made the right decision, whether she shouldn't have given him, them, another chance. But she concluded that it must have been too late and that's why she didn't look for him. On the other hand, things with Granolah didn't develop. He was a nice guy, there was just no feeling on her part, unfortunately. So, before she could involve him in a one-sided relationship, she decided to put an end to everything.

"Well, I don't know about Chichi, but I'm single and ready to mingle." Cheelai said slyly.

"Me too! And I spotted a super cute guy just now..." Maroon commented as she sipped her drink. "Keep in mind that I won't be going home alone tonight!"

"I'm also keeping an eye on a security hot guard I saw at the entrance." Cheelai added, biting her lip.

The group of friends continued chatting and drinking while nibbling on some appetizers. Soon Hit, a tall, strong, bald, dark-skinned man joined them and sat down next to Whis, wrapping his arm around his boyfriend's neck. They had been together for almost four months and he was already part of their group of friends.

Some minutes later a familiar voice echoed and stole their attention: "Well, well, well... look who's here?"

Goku was on his way back from the restroom when he looked at his wristwatch and realized that it was getting late and that it was time to go home. He giggled to himself at the thought that even Krillin wasn't leaving so soon, even though he was married and his wife was pregnant, the short bald man would probably stay for another hour before heading home. But Goku was tired and still wanted to watch a few more episodes of the series he was following.

On top of everything, he had to feed the dog.

Before he could return to his table, however, a commotion broke out that caught his attention. There was a crowd of people on the other side of the bar and, curious, he approached to find out what was going on.

He was surprised when he saw a woman pinning a man to the ground and, for a brief second, he felt as if the scene was a dèja vu. He shook his head and made his way through the crowd to get closer. The man's nose was bleeding while she, who had her back to Goku, pressed her leg into the man's neck and held his arms behind his back.

On the ground, Goku caught sight of a knife and that's when his eyes widened and a warning sounded in his mind, but he froze when he heard her yell: "You'll learn once and for all to stay away from my friend! You piece of shit!"

At that moment he was able to look at the scene as a whole and spotted Whis next to Cheelai, who was being helped by a security guard, a tall, dark and muscular man. So, he wasn't wrong, that voice really was hers.

Well, that wasn't so surprising, then. If someone was fighting, it had to be Chichi.

Hit approached Chichi, along with another security guard, while Jesse yelled below her: "Let me go, you bitch! I'll kill you! I'll kill you!"

She got off him, and fixed her hair and the skirt of her dress while Hit supported her and the security guard grabbed the guy, taking him away, along with the murder weapon.

"You're going to jail, you son of a bitch!" she shouted at him, who just stared at her with deadly hatred.

The crowd of people watching the scene started clapping and whistling, but the brunette just ignored it and walked over to where Cheelai was, who looked a little dazed but apparently fine.

"Are you all right, honey?" Chichi asked, worried.

"I'm fine, thank you. Broly came to my rescue, everything's fine!" Cheelai said, pointing to the handsome security guard who was still standing nearby and smiling sweetly at the short blonde.

"Oh my Gosh!" Whis shook his hands. "What about you, Chi? Are you all right? That disgusting Jesse didn't hit you, did he?"

"Nah! I disarmed him before he could try!" Chichi replied. "I'm glad I managed to act before he could do anything with that knife. Now that bastard's going to rot in jail."

"Look, Chichi, you were very brave to take on that madman with a knife!" Hit said. He had stood protectively in front of Whis when Jesse had grabbed Cheelai by the arm and thrown her onto the table next to him, causing her to fall and hurt herself, but when he had stepped forward to help her or try to stop the man from doing anything else, Jesse had pulled out a knife and pointed it in their direction, but he hadn't even had time to blink and, before he knew it, Chichi was on top of the guy who was already bleeding from the nose and lying on the floor.

"Nah, it's fine, that idiot doesn't even know how to hold a knife properly, and besides, he was already drunk."

"Well, the important thing is that now he's going to jail!" Whis commented. "What a night! I need a stiff drink!"

"Come on, I'll get it for you."

By now, the crowd had dispersed, but Goku stood nearby, waiting for an opportunity to talk to her, or perhaps to work up the courage, he hadn't decided yet. However, he took the opportunity to observe her from afar. She looked beautiful, just as beautiful as the first and last time he had seen her. She wore a black and white dress that highlighted every curve of her body and her black hair fell like a beautiful cascade over her shoulders and down her back.

It was easy for him to remember why he hadn't had a relationship with any other woman after her. It was even a crime to want to compare her to anyone else. She was like a goddess.

As Whis and Hit left and Cheelai retreated to the security guard's side, Goku approached and said with a chuckle:

"Why am I not surprised?"

"Huh?"

Chichi turned at once and faced that pair of black eyes and the half smile. Her heart raced. And it was already racing from all the adrenaline from the fight. Goku smiled as he gazed into those beautiful brown eyes that in recent months he had only seen in his dreams and in his drawings of her.

"Goku?"

"If anyone's fighting, it must be Chichi!" he joked and Chichi rolled her eyes, but also laughed.

"He deserved it!"

"I have no doubts!" he took another step towards her. "Hey! Are you all right?"

"Oh, yes, yes, I'm fine, nothing happened to me." she replied as she put her hand on her own arm, in a sort of half-hug.

"Good!" Goku smiled and moved closer. "I saw that there was a fight going on and when I arrived you had everything under control and the security guards were taking the guy away. Is that the crazy guy from Whis' birthday party?"

"Yes, him. That asshole Jesse!" Chichi snorted. "He pushed Cheelai and tried to attack me with a knife, can you believe it? But I'm glad nothing serious happened."

"Good thing you were around!" he smiled and that bright smile made the brunette's heart soar even more.

Chichi smiled and felt her cheeks heat up quickly. Or maybe she was just hot because it was so hot in that bar, even hotter after getting into a fight.

Broly then approached the two of them with Cheelai, who said: "I've already spoken to the manager and explained the situation. Broly also explained what happened and then he said that we can stay calm and continue here at the bar, because we were the victims and we only acted out of self-defense. There are plenty of witnesses and footage to prove it if necessary… Hey, Goku!" she smiled in surprise and he nodded.

"Yes!" Broly agreed. "We've already placed that scoundrel under restraint and the police will be here soon to take him away."

"Right, thanks!" Chichi commented.

"Thank you Broly!" Cheelai thanked him, smiling at him, who just nodded.

"You know, my break time is about to start..." said the security guard to Cheelai, who smiled in response. "I have half an hour available, if you want to talk about what happened..."

"I'd love to!" The blonde replied quickly. "Not to talk about what happened, but we can talk about other things."

Cheelai and Broly began to walk away, but not before the blonde turned to Chichi and winked. Chichi just shook her head and smiled. At least her friend would have a happy ending that night! But she deserved it after having to meet up with her shitty ex-boyfriend again.

Before Chichi could do anything, however, Whis appeared again, saying: "Darling, I think we've had enough today, Hit and I are going home, okay?"

"Oh well, I think it's a good idea."

Then the blond noticed the unruly-haired man standing next to his friend.

"Hey, Goku! I didn't see you! What a pleasant surprise!" he smiled amiably before looking at Chichi who tried to maintain a neutral expression.

"Hi, Whis! I was passing by and came to say hi to Chichi."

"To say hi, huh?! Yeah, right..." he sounded a little disbelieving, but shrugged and turned to his friend "Have you seen Maroon anywhere, by any chance?"

"Ahhh, no... actually, she'd been missing since before the fight." Chichi replied. "Cheelai's in the back with the security guard, it looks like he's on his break, so... they must be making out!"

"Hum! Good for her. And Maroon, that nuts girl is gone!" Whis waved his hand dismissively "Oh, she said she wasn't coming home alone tonight, she must have hooked up with some guy out there."

"Probably!" Chichi agreed.

"Anyway, we're going, okay?! Love ya, see you later!" He kissed Chichi on the cheek and, while Hit was saying goodbye to Chichi, Whis took the opportunity to whisper to Goku: "Why don't you go and keep her company too? I bet she'd love to spend some time with the best fuck of her life..."

The blond gave him a sly smile and then turned away, not even noticing Goku's flushed face, as his heart raced in his chest. That would have totally inflated his ego if it had happened at any other time in his life, but at that moment all he could think about was Chichi, that maybe he could have another chance, after all, she had also been the best sex of his life.

"I wonder where Maroon is!" Chichi asked herself and looked around, getting up slightly from her seat, until she spotted a bluenette in a yellow dress in one of the corners of the bar. "Ah, there she is. Better not interrupt her, eh?"

Goku looked in the same direction and tilted his head to the side, recognizing the man who was wrapped around the body of a blue-haired woman.

"That's Yamcha! My friend Yamcha!"

"Oh, I remember him!" Chichi exclaimed. "But wasn't he with a girl called... Calia?"

"Huh?" Goku frowned and then remembered. "Oh, you mean Caulifla? No, no, they're not together anymore, in fact, she left him to be with another girl." Goku said with a chuckle.

Chichi didn't understand why he was chuckling and looked at him with one of her eyebrows arched.

"And that's funny because…?"

"Oh, it's just that Yamcha once said that he had a threesome with the two of them, Caulifla and Kale, who was her friend. That's when they met. He kept going out with Caulifla, but when we found out that she had kicked him to get with Kale, all I could think about was what kind of threesome that was. He probably just watched the two of them making out."

Chichi laughed and looked at the couple making out again.

"Well, Maroon is a big girl and knows what she's doing. Besides, he's a friend of yours, right? Must be a nice guy."

"Well, sort of… Hehe, and If I know Yamcha, she should be back home with him tonight." He chuckled. "But she's in good hands!"

Then a slightly awkward silence hung in the air for a few seconds and then Chichi suddenly said:

"Do you know what I want now? To eat a burger bigger than my face!"

"A burger?" Goku frowned and tilted his head to the side.

"Yes. A burger."

"There's a McDonald's near the bar that's open 24 hours a day! And I could do with a burger and fries right now!" his stomach growled.

"Mmmm! McDonald's, good idea!"

Goku smiled.

"But you don't have to accompany me if you don't want to, Goku. You can go back to your table, to your date, or whatever you're doing here. You don't have to worry about me, no." she spoke shyly and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, not knowing what his status was.

"Huh? Oh no, I came with my friends, alone! It's just an ordinary happy hour. They'll be fine." he replied, assuring her that he wasn't on a date, but he still needed to know if she wasn't with someone either. He then sniffed and asked, "Will your boyfriend mind if I accompany you?"

"No, I... I'm not dating. I'm not seeing anyone."

Goku smiled at the answer and felt his heart race.

"Okay. Let's go!"

"Of course! But would you mind walking? It's too close to call an Uber and I don't have a car." He forced a smile and scratched the back of his head. "Tonight, I hitchhiked with Krillin because my car is broken."

"No problem. I'm driving!"

Goku's eyes widened.

"You?"

"I got my driver's license last month and bought a car with some savings I had." she sounded proud.

"Jesus, Chi! That's incredible! You managed to overcome your fear, then!"

"Thanks to you! " she smiled at him, who blushed slightly at the comment. "After that day you taught me to drive, I decided I could do it and then my dad started helping me, then Whis and Cheelai too, until I finally got the confidence to drive on my own and then I got my license! Do you want to see it?" she asked before taking the document out of her bag and showing it to Goku.

"Wow, Chi! You look great in the photo!" he teased and it was her turn to blush. "Congratulations!" he smiled and looked at the document again, proudly. He was genuinely pleased with her achievement. And even more for having encouraged her to overcome her fear.

The place was fairly empty, as it was late at night, so there were plenty of free tables. They chose one and sat down to eat. Goku then decided to ask: "So, how have you been? Has your clinic opened yet?"

"Yes, it's been two weeks. It's been a busy couple of days, but everything's working out!" she replied happily. "And you?"

"Well, I'm in a new job, so it's been pretty hectic lately. That's why I came to this happy hour today, I hadn't seen my friends for a few days and I needed to relax."

Chichi widened her eyes in surprise. Was she listening to it right? He wasn't going out partying anymore and he'd switched jobs too? That seemed like a breakthrough, but she decided to focus only on the job part when she asked:

"You've switched jobs then? What are you working on now?"

"As an illustrator!" Goku smiled broadly. "I took your advice and decided to go for something I enjoyed doing. It was a bit difficult, due to my lack of experience and portfolio, but I got a junior job at a magazine and book publishing company."

"That's great, Goku!"

"It's been quite different, but I'm enjoying it!"

"I'm really glad to hear it! Good for you!" Chichi commented with a slight smile.

"Thank you!" he smiled back.

They both remained silent for a few long seconds while they enjoyed their sandwiches and french fries. Goku was watching her quietly when he decided that he wasn't going to let his opportunity pass him by, perhaps it was fate that had brought them face to face again, so he broke the silence by saying: "You know, there's something I wanted to tell you..."

Chichi looked at him with an alert and attentive expression, waiting for him to continue. Goku bit his lip and sighed deeply before continuing: "It's about the period we were going out... When we met, I... I was cursed." he said it all at once as if he were pulling off a band-aid.

"Ah!" she exclaimed. "I know."

Okay. That was definitely not the answer he was expecting.

"Do you know? H-how?"

"Yep, Mrs. Uranai told me."

Goku blinked a few times, stunned.

"She's a gossiper, remember?!" Chichi smiled. "She had already told me there was... there was something about you, like a dark aura or something. And the day after you came to my house for the last time, she told me that she found you, that you helped her carry some boxes and she decided to help you, freeing you from the curse. She's always had this... esoteric side, I guess, so it made sense what she was telling me. But she only told me that you no longer had that aura, that your curse had been lifted, and that you also had a good heart."

"Wow..." Goku muttered. He wasn't sure how he felt about the revelation. He'd rather she'd found out by him, but it hadn't even crossed his mind that her neighbor had given her the slip. "Well, that's just it. She helped me get rid of the curse, apparently."

"But what exactly happened?" Chichi asked, curious, before popping a potato into her mouth. She still didn't know the whole story, only what her neighbor had told her.

"Well... how can I explain?! Because of the... life I was leading, one night I ended up sleeping with a woman and tried to sneak out of her apartment when her friend caught me." he chuckled and scratched the back of his head. "Because of that, her friend decided to throw this curse at me as a punishment... I didn't pay much attention to it because I thought it was bullshit, until things started to get strange with me, or rather, with the women I got involved with..."

"How strange?"

"The curse was this: any woman I had sex with would lose interest in going out or staying with me again the next morning. And that even for all the women I had slept with before. So when I realized that this was actually happening, I understood that the curse was real, that it was really happening. At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, but after a few weeks, it started to become a pattern. I had no problem meeting new women, but if I wanted to go out again with someone I'd already been to bed with, I couldn't. They didn't want to anymore. None of them. It was as if all the crush, charm or interest they had once felt in me had vanished like magic. Even if I'd been a perfect gentleman all night or even if they'd been remotely satisfied with me. It was inevitable."

"Wow..." That's all Chichi could say after hearing his whole story.

"Yep..."

"So you mean... when we..."

"Look, I can't tell you for sure, but I only know that the only reason I went ahead that night was because I believed that the curse was over. That Ribrianne had rid me of it!"

"Ribrianne...?"

"Ribrianne is the woman who cursed me and Helles is her friend from the bar, the one you saw me talking to that night we went out with my friends."

"That friend of your brother's ex?" Chichi made an incredulous face and her mind was confused, she couldn't think straight with all that information.

"Yeah, well, no... she wasn't friends with any of my brother's exes." Goku smiled yellow and Chichi squinted her eyes in his direction. "That part was a lie!"

"I knew it!" Chichi glared at him.

"I'm sorry about that. I shouldn't have lied... That was Helles and, yes, we did have a one-night stand. But I wasn't lying when I said I didn't want anything to do with her!" He assured her. "I met her in the bar that night by chance, but I went to talk to her because I needed her help to get through to Ribrianne. I needed her to release me from the curse, I couldn't stand avoiding you any longer!"

"Avoiding me? Hold on, hold on, hold on!" she waved her hands. "Are you telling me that the reason you ran away from my house that first night you came over for dinner was because of this... curse?" Goku nodded, embarrassed. "And the other times you made up an excuse not to come in or take me to your apartment...?" he nodded again and answered:

"Yes, it was because of the curse. I didn't want... I didn't want... to lose you after it happened..."

Chichi stood with her mouth open for a few moments, absorbing the words, the story, everything that Goku was revealing. It was confusing and improbable, but at the same time, it made perfect sense.

"Why did she do this to you? Ribrianne…"

"Because I was a jerk with her friend, just like I was with... I dunno, a lot of other women... I was sneaking out of their apartment, I didn't say goodbye to Helles, I didn't exchange phone numbers, and I was just going to walk away as if nothing had happened... I was going to go on to the next one and do the same thing. And then again and again and who knows how long." Goku sighed. "I admit it, I was a son of a bitch. She just saw an opportunity. I guess... it was a way for me to experience what I did myself, a punishment for my sins. I can't blame her, I brought it on myself."

Chichi watched him carefully. Goku showed sadness in his eyes, but she could sense that his words were honest. He had really been punished. He had truly fallen in love and truly suffered.

Her heart accidentally skipped a beat.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Would you have believed it?"

"I dunno... Probably not. I'd probably think it was just another one of your moves to get me into bed."

Goku made an affirmative expression.

"But in any case, I'd have gone to bed with you, after all, I had a bet to win and, knowing that, I really wouldn't have minded, because then I would have had another reason to believe that I would win the bet."

"And that was the problem." Goku smiled and scratched the back of his head again, coming slightly closer to her. "You wanted it. I wanted it too, of course, I really wanted it, but... I didn't want it to be just one night. For some reason, thinking about that you'd lose interest in me the next morning was awful, it had me losing my mind… And, I managed to talk to Ribrianne, she assured me that she had removed the curse, but... well, she lied and I was still cursed when we spent the night together, or at least partially cursed. And it was this remnant of the curse that your neighbor claimed to have freed me from finally."

While Chichi was silent, thinking about what she had just heard, mentally going over the situations where Goku had shied away from her, how she had felt that 'block' with him after they had had sex, and how it had suddenly seemed to disappear the last time he had gone to her house.

"Crazy, isn't he?" he laughed and Chichi shook her head. "I tried to avoid sleeping with you because I wanted to keep going out with you, Chichi. I didn't want you to be just another one. As much as I didn't want to admit it at the time, I was already in love with you! I just didn't know it. By the time I realized it, it was too late. I'd already given in and you... well... you deserved someone better. You do!"

Her heart skipped two beats.

When Chichi realized that she was truly in love with him, she tried to deny it and sink the feeling deep into her chest. She couldn't allow herself to fall in love with someone like him, who would never love her back, who was just using her. When she had felt that block for him, which prevented her from wanting to get close, she had thought it was something in her head, that it was neediness that dragged her into him at first, or something like that, but as soon as she had seen him for the last time at her house, when she had realized that the feelings had come back with all their force and power and that he had reciprocated, she had only had one thought: to run away.

She couldn't allow herself to move on. It was too frightening. It was too strong and her fall was imminent.

However, listening to him there, at that moment, with all that sincerity, with all that pain and the scars that remained... It was undeniable and she couldn't run away again.

"Well then, maybe I didn't exactly win my bet, did I?" she half smiled, a little flushed.

Goku looked at her seriously, not quite understanding, and Chichi sighed deeply before continuing:

"The bet was I wouldn't fall in love with you, Goku. And I vehemently believed that we didn't have any compatibility for me to fall in love with you, but the truth is... as I got to know you more and more, it became harder not to. So... that curse you had, it didn't stop me from falling in love with you, it just stopped me from feeling interested in you again after we'd spent the night together. In the end, I lost." she shrugged and looked at him.

Goku's eyes stared at her deeply and his jaw dropped, as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing. Even though he had thought that his feelings for her were reciprocated, he had come to believe that it was all in his head and that she had never fallen in love with him.

But that revelation changed everything.

Or was he foolish enough to get his hopes up? She was talking about something that had happened months ago, it didn't mean that she could still have feelings for him.

"Chichi..." he moved closer to the brunette, closing almost all the space between them, and brought one of his hands up to her face, stroking it slowly. Her heart was beating fast in her chest.

"Goku..." she murmured and placed one of her hands on his, closing her eyes as she received the caress of that warm hand and, even though she couldn't see, she could feel Goku getting closer and closer to her, she could feel his breath colliding with her skin and she felt her chest tighten as the desire she had long suppressed began to resurface.

He decided it would be best to show her how much he was still in love with her. That even all those months apart hadn't been able to tear from his chest a feeling so pure that it had been born of the most sordid intentions. He then shortened all the space between them when he pulled her by the chin and crashed his lips against hers, which welcomed him in a very inviting way as they opened and allowed his tongue to pass through.

Chichi's heart was beating so hard that she was afraid it would jump out of her mouth and interrupt that longed-for kiss. She had wanted to do it from the moment her eyes hit him, from the moment he smiled crookedly at her, making her legs wobble. The brunette was extremely ecstatic when she felt his soft lips touch hers. The longing was too little to define how much she had felt that touch of his, that touch that set her whole body on fire.

Goku smiled when the kiss ended, but remained with his forehead pressed to hers as his heart quieted in his chest and his mind was going wild.

He wouldn't lose her a second time.
