Hi everyone how are you all doing today?
Recently I've decided to try my own hand at repairing the Sequel Trilogy. And in a way that flows with canon, makes sense to its narrative, and improves it so that it's far better and makes sense.
I hope you guys enjoy.
Disclaimer: I don't own "Star Wars" or any of its properties.
Setting: Star Wars Galaxy
Location: Ossus
A Long Time Ago,
In A Galaxy Far, Far, Away
A slender young male historian, one of 22 life years and with a boyish face plus floppy hair, was traversing the planet. Headed towards the rebuilt Jedi Academy Rey, Finn, and middle aged versions of Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, and Cal Kestis had constructed 12 years earlier. The academy having been created sometime following the absolute obliteration of the First Order and the Sith Eternal.
Upon arrival he noticed a tall dark skinned man with black hair encased in flowing dark brown robes and standing at its doors. The academy greatly resembling that of a ziggurat.
The young man then approached him.
"Excuse me sir. My name is Evan, I'm a historian, and would it'd be possible to speak with Grand Master Rey?" he addressed him and then requested. Hoping to receive an audience with the legendary hero of the Resistance and now grandmaster of the New Jedi Order.
"I'm sorry but she's presently off world and with some of our comrades. I'm Master Finn. Her second in command and master of the New Jedi Order. And chief caretaker of this academy whenever she's absent," Finn answered him politely and with a warm smile. "Is there anything I can do for you?"
Evan's eyes bulged out and his mouth opened slightly following the Jedi Master's introduction.
"You're Finn? I'm sorry but I mean Master Finn? The former Stormtrooper turned one of the Resistance's greatest heroes who dismantled the First Order?" he questioned the former in awe. Not having expected to be in the presence of another legendary individual.
Finn chuckled a bit.
"Yep. I suppose that's me," he nodded and with a shrug. "But I don't consider myself someone great. I was just a humble servant who followed his inner convictions and heeded the call. Allowing myself to be in the right place and at the right time. No more. No less."
Evan returned his nod. Impressed by his humility.
"Well you certainly are a hero to myself. And not to mention one to everyone dwelling within this galaxy," he stated with a bright smile. Although a part of him was disappointed he didn't get to make his acquaintance with Rey he was still beyond delighted he'd gotten to do so with another legendary individual and a huge name within the history books.
However and as the old saying went but when one door closes another door opens. Something which occurred to the historian in that precise moment and he realized the man before him might be able to provide him with what he desired. And the reason why he'd conducted this journey to the academy. If Finn was inclined to that is.
With that settled and gathering his wits together, he addressed Finn once more.
"Anyway but I'm a historian, as I'd mentioned before, and the reason I came here is to request an audience with Grandmaster Rey. The reason being that I'm chronicling the events surrounding the beginnings of the war between the Resistance and the First Order. Plus the latter's origins. And the politics and climate which drove it," Evan began. Explaining his motivations before continuing. "And considering she was a direct eyewitness to those events I was hoping she could provide me with a comprehensive history into those happenings. And especially as someone who quite literally lived through history and played an enormous role in them.
"Since she's unavailable however I'd now like to submit my request towards you. If you would be interested in sharing your own perspective on all of that. Though if you have no desire to do so and regardless of your reasons I promise I'll accept that and leave you in peace. And again but it's entirely up to you."
Finn patiently listened to all the young man had to say. And once the latter had said his peace the Jedi Master found himself in thought. Considering.
He couldn't deny that the prospect sounded greatly intriguing. And especially since the truth was he, Rey, and their colleagues had knowledge of events and details which the wider galaxy was ignorant of. Aspects which could broaden the scope of what they were already informed of. In turn providing them with a deeper appreciation for the history of it all.
He could also feel the Force whispering to him. Gently urging him to accept this man's request. Implying that it had guided Evan to him for that very purpose.
Therefore with all of that in mind and the Force especially compelling him, Finn made his decision.
"You know what? Why don't you come inside with me Evan and we can discuss those pertaining matters further," he invited the other man and gestures towards the building behind him.
Evan's features morphed into an expression of great surprise.
Uncertain as to whether his proposal would be accepted or not. He managed to recover and with an eager nod followed Finn into the academy. Marveling at the majestic architecture within.
Finn then led him into a chamber across from them in which there were 6 seats positioned within its center.
"This area serves as the headquarters for the Jedi Council and which I'm also a member of. Alongside Rey, Master Cestis, Master Wren, and Master Bridger," the Jedi Master explained to the historian. "The seventh seat is an symbolic one meant to honor the late and legendary Jedi Ahsoka Tano. Apprentice to the great Anakin Skywalker. She was more than a significant player in key galactic events and was in many ways what the Jedi were supposed to represent during their earliest existence. Non bureaucratic while truly listening to the will of the Force and following its direction."
Finn then seated himself upon his designated chair and gestured to Evan to choose a seat for himself.
The young man hesitated. Uncertain if he should since they were council seats. But following Finn's encouraging nod he decided to do so. Seating himself on the chair beside the one Finn was occupying.
Not Rey's chair however. Which was on Finn's right and positioned within the center of the chair lineup. But instead the chair on his left.
"Regarding your request, It would be my honor to provide you with the answers you seek. And especially since the Force is telling me to accept it," he said to the historian. "Furthermore but I also believe the time has come for the galaxy's inhabitants to learn the entire history surrounding the events which transpired 12 years ago. And hopefully the knowledge will not only enrich what they already know but will provide them with lessons they can hopefully live by."
Evan nodded readily.
"I'm prepared to hear all that you're willing to educate me on. And receiving it from an enormous figure in history such as yourself is a privilege," he replied to the Jedi Master. Fully prepared for whatever he was about to learn and more than ready to pass it on to the wider galaxy.
Finn returned his nod. After which he reclined in his seat and readied himself to share with the man before him the untold history of what had transpired not only 12 years ago but a little over 3 decades ago. For the latter time period was when the events he'd lived through would be set into motion.
To Be Continued
A/N What do guys think so far?
Within the following chapter Finn will be begin the story of the events leading up to and surrounding the Sequel Trilogy. And I hope you'll all enjoy what I come up with. Though it's entirely up to you. But this fic's existence will hopefully do for it what "The Clone Wars" did for the Prequels.
For those who don't know, and I only learned about it after looking it up, but Ossus was the planet that the Legendsverse version of the Jedi Academy was rebuilt on following its destruction by the Far Outsiders.
Just some incorporation of the EU into this fic.
I honestly don't know when the next update will be. But I hope you guys will tune in when it's available.
Until next time, have a great day.
