Author's note:This chapter has child abuse! You have been warned. So comment but no hate! I don't mind some criticizing since I am still writing a novel at the moment but not harsh.
...
Privet Drive was in peace as the sun was rising in the early morning of the mid summer.
The only thing you could hear was a pigeon hooting on the outside and the cars that were leaving for work.
But in private drive there was one peculiar family that was ready to get up for someone's special birthday.
This family to the outsiders of Privet Drive looked very respectful and were very well known to their community.
Vernon Dursley was a beefy man with hardly any neck, although he did have a very large mustache.
Petunia Dursley was thin, blonde and nearly had twice the usual amount of neck, which came in useful as she could spy on the neighbors.
Dudley Dursley was a boy that was large and very overweight, he had his mother's blonde hair and his father's small eyes. He is also a very spoiled boy.
But the Dursley family also has another member of their family, Petunia's nephew, Harry Potter.
Harry Potter is a small boy, even though he is 11 years old. HE has messy black hair that sticks up in every direction, he has green emerald eyes and wobbly knees.
His back is covered in scars from his uncle Vernon's belt from whenever he did something freaky, like when he had somehow mysteriously appeared on the roof of the school as Dudley had chased him in the playground or when he somehow changed his teacher's wig blue.
Harry also has a mystery scar on his forehead that is shaped like a lightning bolt.
But he is deaf; he has been since he was 3 years old. His uncle reckoned it was from the crash.
But that didn't make sense to Harry, if it had been from the crash when he was 1 year old, then it wouldn't have ever been heard.
But he can lip read but he prefers signs, something that his family hasn't bothered to learn apart from Dudley.
The thing about Harry ... .was that he was really smart, which was something the Dursleys didn't like about him.
After all, they didn't want him to be smarter than their precious son.
So Harry had to play dumb since he got that first report back. After all, freaks shouldn't be in school.
The only thing he would love to have is a friend.
He gasped as the door opened and he looked up to see his aunt, who was scowling at him like always.
"Get up and make breakfast!" she snapped at him dragging the small boy out, "And don't you dare burn it, boy!"
Boy…..that's what he has always been called by the Dursleys or when they're punishing him, it was freak.
Harry nodded, which made her press her lips tightly together as she looked down at her nephew in disgust and pure hatred.
Harry walked into the kitchen and stepped on the stool that was in front of the fireplace, rolled his very long sleeves up and worked on the bacon that was already frying in the pan.
The smell of the bacon made Harry's stomach growl and grumble, but he ignored it. He would be punished if he even thought about stealing it.
Once everyone was at the table, Dudley counted his presents, or tried to. "How many are there?" he asked his dad.
"36. Counted them myself."
Harry lowered himself, trying to avoid one of Dudley's pretend tratums. In front of his parents, he bullies Harry. But after Harry had once saved him from a street dog that was ready to attack the larger boy, somehow Harry made it go away and since then Dudley did what he could to help Harry.
"That's two less than last year!"
"Most of them are bigger than last year." Uncle Vernon told him.
"I don't care how big they are!" Dudley shouted.
"We'll buy you two more presents, how does that sound?"
Dudley shrugged his shoulders and went back to his breakfast. Harry couldn't help but smile.
The home phone rang, Petunia got from her seat and went to the hall to answer the phone.
Harry just ate his little breakfast, if the Durlsyes fed him they always keep sure that he hasn't got more than Dudley or equaled the meal. On other days, they would just give him leftovers or starve him.
Petunia came in and talked to Vernon in low whispers, but Harry didn't miss the looks that they were throwing at him.
While the adults were distracted, Dudley secretly transferred some of his food; bacon and some beans, over to Harry's plate.
After the two Dursleys revealed that they would have to take Harry with them to the zoo with them for Dudley's birthday, Dudley faked crying, saying how Harry would ruin his day and other stuff like that.
On the way to the zoo, Harry noticed a motorbike and it made him think of the night of the giant man that took him away from the other man.
While Harry is super smart like the story book character, Matilda, he also has eidetic memory, so he definitely remembers his uncle Padfoot and Moony. Hsi parents (so he very well knows that his parents were killed by some evil man) and he remembers the man that left him on the Dursleys doorstep that very halloween night.
Once they were in the reptile zoo, they were standing in front of some kind of snake.
"Make it move." Dudley demanded his dad.
Vernon raised his hand to the glass and knocked gently, "move!"
But when the snake made no movement, Dudley bangs on the glass and shouted, "MOVE!"
"He's asleep." Harry told him.
"He's boring."
The Dursleys left him there and Harry just looked at the snake that was pretty much just chillin like nothing had happened.
"Sorry about that." Harry told the snake, "He has to pretend he hates me because of his parents. But he's learning what's right and wrong."
The snake slowly opened one eye and his head raised up which made Harry's eyes widened with shock.
"Can you hear me?"
The snake nodded his head.
"Sorry, I just haven't spoken to a snake before." Harry told it, "Where do you come from anyway?"
The snake jabbed its tail at a little sign next to the glass. Harry squinted through his glasses to read it, Boa Constrictor, Brazil.
Then HArry noticed more writing was on it, This specimen was bred in the zoo.
"Oh… I see, so you've never been to Brazil?"
The snake gave a sad shake of its head, if Harry didn't know better, he would reckon it was crying.
"I didn't know my parents either."
"Who are you talking to, Harry?"
"The snake."
Dudley looked at the snake with a fearful expression. Animals weren't Dudley's fortune since that dog tried to attack him. He then looked around to see if his parents were around.
"I'm sorry for how I act but-"
"I know. Don't worry about it, Dudley." he said, waving it off.
"Are you still plan to run away?"
"I think so." he said, wincing. "That last beating was too much."
Dudley sighed, but Harry saw Vernon walking to them. "Walrus at night o'clock."
Dudley knew who he was talking about so he pushed him down without warning and went to look at the glass. "Mum, dad! You're not going to believe what this snake is doing!"
Harry glared at him, he knew things were difficult and Dudley was scared that if his parents saw him being family to Harry, they would treat him as a freak too and it frightened him.
Suddenly the glass vanished into thin air like magic, and Dudley fell into the snake's home.
The snake slithered out of its cage and went to Harry, saying, "Thankssss."
"No problem." he said, not knowing what he had done to make the snake thanked him.
Once they got Dudley out of the snake's cage and back home. Vernon grabbed Harry by his hair and shoved him against the wall.
"What HAPPENED?!" Vernon spitted at him.
"I swear, I don't know! One minute it was there and then it disappeared like magic!"
Vernon growled, "There's no such thing as magic!"
With that being said, Vernon opened his room that was the basement whenever he did something freaky, threw him in, watched in glee as his nephew fell down the stairs and locked the door.
Harry crawled to the mattress that was in the basement and laid there, waiting for his proper punishment to be dished out, which he knew Vernon would do after Petunia and Dudley were in bed.
Harry woke up as someone, most likely his uncle, who was pulling him off the mattress in a brutal manner.
"-Freak, get up! Stand to the wall and take your shirt off! I've got a new toy for you to try out!"
Harry took off his glasses then his shirt and he put his hands to the wall to brace himself.
At least this time he isn't going to be tied up for Vernon to punish him. HE looked at Vernon.
"16 lashes for making a fool out of Dudley on his birthday along with no food for a week!"
Harry nodded and began to count, he passed out somewhere on 14. The pain lured him into a deep sleep with no dreams.
But his last thought was the man with the long nose that his mother had introduced him to when he was a baby….
