A/N: Hi, it's Gamarinsho. I'm sorry this chapter took so long to release, I kinda lost track of time. This chapter was supposed to be released at the beginning of Thanksgiving break but some things happened so it's getting released now. I'll try to release another chapter soon.

(PLEASE READ THIS PART) I decided to change something around from chapter 2 and that is Bell's skill "Implication of the Books." Instead of being a skill I changed it to being a magic because it just felt more like a magic to me.

That's all, bye, and have I hope you all have a good time reading 3

As Bell woke up from his sleep, he felt different. There wasn't really a way to describe it; it was as if the colors he saw were more colorful and the sounds that he could hear were clearer. When he stood up, he felt as light as a feather but as strong as an ox. "What happened to me?" Bell couldn't help but murmur at the unexpected change that had happened to him overnight. After a few minutes, Bell got out of his makeshift bed couch and got ready for the day, putting on his adventure clothing, which was just his regular clothing with an iron plating over his chest. Eventually Bell left the church and got to the main road, but as he turned onto the main road, he felt something. Bell didn't know whether this was because of his new heightened senses or not, but he felt a petrifying gaze, not unlike the gaze a predator would have when stalking its prey.

As Bell was walking through the main road, he heard a voice call out in his direction before a hand suddenly grabbed his shoulder, and for the first time ever (on the surface at least), he went for his knife, only stopping once he realized the voice came from a gray-haired waitress. Realizing what he did, Bell immediately started apologizing relentlessly.

"I'm sorry!" Bell repeatedly said while falling into a dogeza position. The waitress only giggled at the sight.

"It's okay," she said, hiding her smile behind a wooden board. "If anything, it's my fault for touching you without warning; please stand up."

"My name's Bell," Bell said as he got up from the dogeza position. "Did you need something from me?"

"My name is Syr." The waitress responded. "I tried getting your attention because you dropped this." She said as she held out a small monster crystal.

"Huh?" Bell exclaimed. 'There's no way that's mine,' he thought.

"Are you sure you saw it drop from me?" Bell asked.

"Fairly sure, yes," Syr responded.

"I'm sorry, I don't think that's possible," Bell said.

"But you're an adventurer, aren't you?" Syr asked.

"Yes… but… there's no way I could've had one on me though," Bell answered.

"And why's that?" Syr inquired.

"I… uh… didn't go to the dungeon yesterday," Bell responded.

"Oh, well, take it anyway," Syr giggled. "I have no use for it." She said as she handed him the monster crystal.

"Thank you," Bell said, accepting the monster crystal.

"Aaand now that I helped you, you owe me one, right?" Syr asked, a mischievous smile sprouting over her face.

"I… I guess?" Bell couldn't help but get the feeling that he had just been tricked into something.

"Then you'll be eating here tonight," she affirmed.

"Huh?" Bell asked. "Is that all?"

"Mhm," Syr answered. "That's all."

"Ok… I have to go now," Bell said. "I guess I'll be here tonight."

"I'll be waiting," Syr responded.

Belk quickly memorized the name of the pub, turned around, and started heading back on his way towards the dungeon.

"You can come out now, girls," Syr said, and shortly after, three girls dressed in the same waitress uniform as her appeared out of the darkness of the pub. Two of them were cat people with shoulder-length black and brown hair, respectively; the final waitress was an elf with slightly above-shoulder-length green hair; all three of them were beauties in their own right.

"He almost pulled nyah nyife out on nyou," the brown-haired waitress said.

"The key word being almost Anya," Syr responded.

"Are you ok, nyah?" The black-haired waitress asked

"I'm fine, Chloe," Syr answered.

"...Why did you ask him to eat here?" The green-haired waitress asked

Syr responded in a playful tone, "Secret."

[30 minutes later; Dungeon Floor 4]

'What a morning,' Bell thought as a group of five goblins spawned from the ceiling in front of him. Bell's thoughts immediately shifted from what had happened that morning as he dashed forward and stabbed one of the goblins in the throat before pivoting his heel and spinning around, catching another goblin off guard and slitting its throat wide open.

Taking a few steps, Bell's mind caught back up to him, and what he had just done, while not inherently special, especially to stronger people, was the first time he had ever moved that fluidly before.

Focusing back on the fight at hand, Bell dodged a strike from one of the goblins that had gone to strike him. After dodging the strike, Bell kicked the goblin in its ribs, breaking them and sending it flying into the walls of the dungeon.

In an instant, Bell was at the goblins' side and going for a stab with his dagger, but the two other goblins wouldn't allow that as they rushed at him, causing him to stop his attack and take a few steps back. The goblins wouldn't let him get away though and continued to rush at him, even stepping on their weakened goblin brethren in the process before one of them lunged at Bell with their dagger-like fingers.

Bell swiftly dove under the goblins' attack before taking his dagger to the goblin's stomach and disemboweling it before pushing it to the side and lunging at the other goblin and stabbing it through its heart.

After that, he made quick work of the final goblin that was lying on the floor, its ribs shattered and body bruised, before going around to all the goblins and removing their monster crystals.

As the monsters disappeared into dust, Bell rested and reflected on the fight. This is something he normally did when he rested while waiting to hear the sound of new monsters spawning and old monsters roaming, and in his opinion, it helped him progress faster than if he didn't.

It didn't take long for the sound of new monsters spawning to reach Bell's ears. After a minute of looking, he had found them. This time, it was a pack of two kobolds that had spawned.

'This is a good time to test out the magic I got yesterday,' Bell thought as he readied himself for battle.

Bell started his chant, "The world that I live in is false; the truth is in the books." The characters they speak to me, I'll trail them foot by foot."

The moment Bell finished the chant, his world turned black, and he couldn't feel himself anymore. It felt like information and memories that he didn't have were trying to forcibly enter his mind.

The feeling of a claw going across just below the bottom of his right ribs pulled him back out of his blackout-like trance.

"Agh!" Bell screamed as a searing pain spread across his abdomen like wildfire. It felt like his body was trying to shut itself down.

The Kobold went for a second strike right as Bell's body gave up all power in his legs and dropped to the ground, allowing him to dodge the attack. It took all of Bell's will to bring the power back to his legs and pounce back up, stabbing the kobold in the shoulder and continuing down, causing a laceration from the kobold's right shoulder to its left hip, before retreating back a few steps and going for his potion pouch.

As Bell reached into his potion pouch, he realized that he didn't have any potions left on him.

'That's not possible' Bell thought, 'I had stocked up on 10 health potions two days ago.'

Bell didn't have time to think about the loss of his health potions as another one of the Kobolds rushed in on all four of its left and went to bite him.

Bell jumped to the side, landing hard on his side. His wound from the other kobold ached as it was driven through the dirt.

Bell quickly got up and faced the Kobold down before switching his knife to a reverse grip and waiting for the Kobold to strike again.

After about 30 seconds of waiting, the Kobold lunged at him, going for a second bite, but instead of dodging this time, Bell waited for the perfect moment to jump into the air, dodging the Kobold's jaws by a hair's width and striking his knife downwards, directly into the Kobold's skull.

After taking a few moments to recompose himself, Bell started extracting the monster crystals from the two kobolds. 'I shouldn't have struggled this much against two Kobolds,' Bell thought to himself. 'If only I had figured out what my magic did before entering the dungeon.'

The aching pain from his would pull Bell out of his thoughts. "I guess I have to leave early today," Bell murmured as he started walking towards the entrance to the dungeon.

[45 minutes later; run-down church]

As Bell entered the Church he, with hazy vision, immediately started looking for the door that led to his and Hestia's room. Bell's wound was a lot deeper than he had first thought, and he had lost a lot of blood because of it. After taking a few breathless steps, Bell's body couldn't hold up anymore, and he fell into a row of pew chairs. Luckily, the noise alerted Hestia, who was downstairs.

"BELL-KUN!" Hestia screamed once she saw Bell's state.

"G-goddess, would you please g-get the h-health potions?" Bell asked, barely speaking above a whisper. When Hesita and Bell first met, they had both agreed to keep a few health potions at their residence just in case something happened.

"Got it!" Hestia said as she zoomed back down the stairs in search of the health potions.

Bell's world started to go black as the warm blanket of sleep embraced him. 'I never got to go back to the Library… I hope I can visit soon…' were Bell's last thoughts as his world went black, succumbing to his fatigue.
