Hot Chocolate
Sitting alone before the fireplace on a comfortable couch
Asleep in a winter wonderland, from the road taken only in dreams
Flames and logs crackling as smoke ascends through the chimney, a signal to land at
The tree towers above, decorated by ornaments and lit up by bright lights red and green
Snow on the window obscures the land from afar
But at close range presents a glimpse into the winter wonderland
Double-sided too, giving the outsider a peek beyond the dream
Warmth envelops the room from the stationary fireplace
But unfortunately cannot travel afar, even though it can welcome
Although the warmth carried by mobility approaches
Able to be shared since it bears her love
Eyes awaken from slumber, from snowy dreamland
A brief departure, though return soon enough
Looking at her arrival with two in hand
The Half-Snow Elven Yuki-Onna smiles sweetly while shutting her eyes
Presenting you with one, half of the gift worth sharing
Receiving it, accepting the warmth her love provides
As she accepts a seat beside in return
And snuggles close to cuddle
Before the fire that calmly roars
Joining for moments together that are worth sharing
Like cups of hot chocolate
…
My apologies to Yukihana Lamy and the community for forgetting to pen her another birthday poem. I was absolutely swamped getting the sixth chapter of Elder Scrolls Travels: Rosgard finished so I could finally get it published. Now that it is finally done, I can now write her a second, albeit belated, birthday poem. That said, even though it is coming quite late, it still feels just as festive because of the Christmas spirit and the season of Winter, themes that fit Lamy perfectly as exemplified in the poem. I wanted to include the comparison I made in last year's birthday poem, Snowflake, as well, about how Lamy is like a cup of hot chocolate, so I made that an important part of the poem by focusing on the moment in which she offers to share some with another party while sitting before the fireplace together on a snowy night. Now that we are in December, I feel that a poem like this is just perfect for the holiday season.
Happy belated Birthday, Yukihana Lamy! I am sorry for not being able to write this for your birthday, but I wish you and the rest of my favorites in Hololive a Merry Christmas!
