Sakura's Salvation

By Major Mike Powell III and YuriChan220

There was something wrong with Sakura. Just a couple days earlier, she said she wasn't feeling well. Rin assumed it was just a cold. However, when the days went by, it seemed to get worse and worse. Up to the point where Sakura left the house…while it was raining outside.

Rin hurries outside without an umbrella, just wearing her usual long sleeved red shirt, black frilly skirt and thigh high stockings and high heels. She looks around everywhere for her dear little sister until she sees the purplenette out in the open, hugging herself.

Rin gives a sigh of relief and takes a couple steps forward.

"Sakura," she says. "Hey, your cold is going to get worse if you stay out here. Let's go back inside."

But Sakura doesn't move. She stands up and faces her sister, balling her fists to her chest. "Am I…really that worthy to stay home with you?"

"What are you talking about?" Rin says. "Come on, stop joking."

"I'm not," Sakura says. "I'm…I'm feeling something. Deep inside me. There's someone inside me telling me something to do the unthinkable. I know it. It happened once. I killed my brother because of that…!"

Rin's eyes widen. "Y-You can't be certain of that. There is no way someone like you would do something like that!"

Sakura shakes her head. "Nee-san…look at me. I'm nothing but a tool to the Matou family. Grandfather made me do things i can't even begin to describe. Up to the point where I willingly gave myself to them. Those men on the train…and...at my own so-called home…!"

Rin takes some steps forward, not saying a word. She wears a serious expression on her face.

"Every day…I hoped it would be better," Sakura continues. "But i keep living the same nightmare over and over. That's the reason why I run over to Hakuno-sempai's house. I cannot stand up to Grandfather or Nii-san. I'm such a weakling!" She shakes her head again, a sob escaping her. "You don't deserve someone like me. That's why…that's why I closed myself to the world. Believing everything bad should disappear."

Rin closes gaps and looks at her sister. "I understand now. You have been through a lot during these times. I know I wasn't there to stand up for you. But…now that I understand, I want you to know this." She wraps her arms around Sakura tenderly. "From now on, I will be there for you. I will fend off those who would lay a finger on you. Because I'm your sister and….I love you."

There is nothing but silence. Sakura doesn't respond. Her arms fall on her sides.

"Nee-san…"

"Sakura, it's okay. We're going home and this time….MY home is your home. You're never going back to that awful place."

There is no response from Sakura.

"...Sakura?"

"Heh…love? What a joke~!"

"...what..." The hairs on the back of Rin's neck stand up. A dreadful feelings washes over the older sister...and her eyes go wide again and she gasps as she pulls back, holding Sakura by the shoulders at arms' length...but she knows that she's not looking at her precious little sister. The person in front of her…

"She doesn't need you. She doesn't need them. She doesn't need her~" The woman in Sakura's skin grins. A grin full of confidence and sass and intent to hurt anyone and everyone that stands between she and what she wants.

Rin gasps and she's too slow to react due to shock, as "Sakura" reaches her hand forward, plants it on Rin's collarbone...and then, with a giggle, she flicks her there.

The wind gets knocked out of Rin as immediately, an otherwordly force sends her flying backwards, ending up with her back smashing into a tree a good ten feet away. The tree stands tall, but there is a very much noticeable human-sized crack in its wide bark.

"Saaa...Saku...ra...Sakura...?! W-Wha...wha? What? Why?!" Rin regains her senses after collapsing face-first onto the soaked grass and pavement, groaning loudly as her body screams in pain as everything starts to register. Rin glares at the woman in Sakura's skin.

"...who the Hell are you?!" Rin calls out, rising steadily, getting ready for what she knows is going to be a fight. "Sakura" giggles and she stretches out her arm to the side, and in her open hand appears a traditional-looking black wand with purple accents.

She grips the wand, flicks her wrist, and then, Sakura's beautiful school uniform starts to melt off, almost bleed off of her body, yet it doesn't expose her skin. In fact, as the uniform bleeds off of her body, another outfit appears in its wake.

A white leotard with a big red bow on the neck over her two-sizes-bigger chest, a frilly black pencil skirt that barely reaches her upper mid-thigh, a black jacket and cape with puffy sleeves on her arms and red underside, and gossy black thigh-high, high-heeled boots that hug her thick, powerful legs.

Last but not least, Sakura's beautiful, silky purple tresses become amazingly long, growing long past her back, past her waist and beyond, stopping at the back of her knees.

"Sakura...had to take her leave for a bit, ufufu~" She grins and she does a cute little curtsy all while looking Rin right in the eye.

"The butcher of all those that tormented Sakura. The one that set her free from the pain and debauchery. All~with a smile. I'm the one, the only, the greatest kouhai of all time!" Then, she does a graceful, exaggerated spin, spreading her arms wide when she stops like a ballerina. "Mooncancer...B. B. Chaaan~"

Rin's eyes widen, realizing the kind of danger she is now in. She grits her teeth and she crouches low, her hands reaching back into her skirt pockets.

"...I see. BB." Rin says calmly. BB's grin grows bigger, clearly seeing what the red-and-black-clad elite-class mage intends to do. "I know Sakura is still in there. You wear her face, but you're just a pretender!"

Then, Rin swings her arms forward, her multi-color spheres held between her fingers. An array of gold, crimson, white and purple beams launch at the grinning Mooncancer, and yet Rin's eyes widen and she glares at the woman wearing Sakura's appearance…

"Too slow~" BB simply flicks her wand a single fraction of a second before Rin's beams strike...and they just "bleed" off into nothingness before they touch her body, and so too does the scenery around the two of them.

Rin remains calm and stands straight, her spheres still between her fingers, as she finds herself now standing on the colorful purple, black and godl tiled floor of what appears to be a TV game show stage with a huge, distusgingly ostentatious and extravagant sign above that reads BB Channel~! in bright gold and purple neon.

Rin looks back down and sees BB sitting nice and comfortably on a tall egg-shaped chair, one thick leg crossed elegantly over the other, tapping the end of her wand on the palm of her hand.

"Welcome, Nee-san~" Rin glares and BB licks he rlips. "To a sensational, super duper special edition of the BB Channel~! You're my guest of honor!" And then, BB launches herself off of her chair and a foot away from Rin in a flash of purple, black and white.

"Tch! I am not playing your game, BB!" Rin says.

"Ohhh but this one will be a once in a lifetime thing~" BB floats above Rin. "The audience will love a fight between you and the final boss, which is me! Sakura will be so proud~"

"Enough!" Rin throws her magic stones at BB as far as she can.

BB easily slides to the right to evade them, chuckling. However, Rin grins as she reaches a hand up, directing the stones to charge from behind. They hit BB and explode on impact.

"Yes!" Rin pumps a fist, but her celebration is short lived when the smoke disappears and there is BB…completely unscathed.

"Hehehe!" BB chuckles. "Forgot to mention: you cannot hurt me. You're in MY world~"

She floats back down on her egg chair, crossing one leg over the other and flicks her wand.

"In you come, boys!" She calls. "I softened her up for ya~!"

Rin gasps as she sees shadowy figures, robotic canines and dolls coming at her. Rin closes her eyes and digs into her skirt pocket again. This time, she pulls out a small sword that has a shiny jewel for a blade. It glows in white and rainbow colors combined.

She lashes it out to the side and charges at BB's army. At first, BB thinks it will be a piece of cake for her army to outnumber her. However….she is proven wrong when several of the large shadowy figures try to envelope her. She then uses her jewel sword to cut them away, making them disappear in an instant.

"No way…!" BB says.

Rin turns toward the rest of the army, swinging her sword back and forth, up and down with trails of light following. As a result, it cuts down each and every one of the minions BB has summoned in one hit.

BB cannot believe the power Rin has. Has she had this sword all along?

Once all of them are down for the count, all that is left is BB and Rin alone.

"Are you done showing off?" Rin says.

BB grits her teeth. She hops off her chair and floats toward the dark haired girl. The chair disappears shortly after.

"You….where did you get that?" BB says.

"It's been passed down by the Tohsaka Family for generations," Rin replies. "Oh surely you have never heard of it, right…Sakura?"

BB grits her teeth. "I'm not Sakura! I'm BB! And don't mock me either!"

She flicks her wand to summon a heart and then shoots a powerful beam at her. Rin easily blocks it with her jewel sword and pushes it aside to blast a wall.

"Why do you want Sakura so badly, huh!?" BB shouts as she tries again to shoot her beam, but Rin blocks it again. "You're her sister and yet…you weren't there for her! You didn't even care about what she went through!"

Rin walks forward with a serious expression on her face.

"Day after day, she's been like this!" BB continues. She summons spikes from the ground, but Rin easily evades them, making it easier for her to come closer. "Day after day it's been nothing but pain and suffering! That's why I came to her! To be there when no one could!"

Rin keeps on moving forward.

"So tell me…WHY WOULD SAKURA WANT SOMEONE LIKE YOU!?"

BB shoots one last beam at Rin. The mage blocks it and shoots it back at BB. The Mooncancer raises her arm to shield herself from the light. When she opens her eyes, Rin casts her sword aside, seeing that she is close enough. She reaches out….and hugs BB

"Because I love you…" Rin says tenderly.

BB grits her teeth. "No…you're lying…"

The purplenette immediately moves her arms up to try and push Rin away, and yet that holy makes Rin squeeze her around the waist with her arms even tighter.

"Because I love you and I'm so sorry I wasn't there. When you needed me the most, I should have been there and I wasn't. I can never hope you forgive me for that...but I'm here now and there's nothing I won't do..." Rin says softly in BB's ear. "Nothing I won't do, Sakura..." The panicking Mooncancer gasps. Her shaking eyes gaze at her wand still in her hand...and then she raises it high behind Rin hugging her...and she begins to bring down the sharp end of the wand towards Rin's back, right towards the spot over her heart…

"To protect your smile." And Rin's soft, tender voice caresses BB's ear...just like her index, middle and ring fingertips touch the ribbon. The bright-red ribbon on the side of Bb's head. The bright red ribbon on the side of Sakura's head.

An inch.

The tip of BB's wand is at single inch away from Rin's back. The second Rin's fingertips touched the ribbon so carefully, so softly...the wand stopped. BB's hand stopped. BB's hand that is now shaking.

"...n-no...no...don't...don't say that..." BB's voice, once confident and sassy, is now just about to break. "D-Don't…"

Rin pulls back, her face an inch away from BB's. Rin's beautiful eyes gaze deep into the deep violets of BB.

"I love you. Sakura. I love you, everything about you. Every side of you. Please, BB. Give me back my sister. I won't stop until I have her back. I will cross any and every line there is to have her back."

Then, BB gasps as Rin's hands move and gently cup her blushing cheeks.

"...no...no...please...I, I can't...! I can't! Sakura...she needs...she needs me...she needs me, I did so much for her...!" BB's voice is well and truly cracked now, a sob escaping her every few words.

"It's Ok. I'll never stop protecting her. I'll never stop loving her. Trust me." Rin smiles softly, and then she leans the rest of the way in...and BB meets her half-way at the last second.

The two women's lips become pressed sweetly together in a soft, tender, reassuring kiss.

Rin's heart race. She keeps her eyes half-lidded, gazing deep into BB's eyes...and she doesn't stop kissing her even as she hears the wand clatter harmlessly to the ground.

Then, BB's eyes close...and so too do Rin's, and as her eyes flutter shut, as she softly caresses the purplenette's upper, then bottom lip with her tongue to gently her to open up, which she does…

Rin starts to feel rain landing on her again.

Then, she pulls back and she smiles softly, looking into the beautiful eyes of…

"Mm...chu...thank you." Rin's own voice is now the one to be thick with emotion. Her heart soars and she fights off the urge to cry with joy.

"...tadaima...Nee-san..." Sakura says softly, her own voice cracking. Then, she hiccups...then again, then she plunges her soaked face, her face soaked with rain water and tears, into Rin's chest.

Sakura's arms hug Rin around the back and waist tightly.

"Sakura...Sakura..." Rin utters like a mantra, hugging her little sister just as tightly, while the poor dear can only sob "Nee-san...Nee-san...! Thank you...! Thank you...!" over and over again like a mantra into Rin's chest.

A Year Later

Sounds of cutting veggies are heard in the kitchen. A beautiful young woman...dressed in a a white dress with a light black jacket around it admires her work and puts the veggies in a bowl as they are part of the ingredients for stew. She hears the door slide shut and she turns around to see her beautiful older sister step into the room. Her hair is no longer in partial pig-tails, but in a side ponytail. As for the woman, Sakura, she has matured more beautifully than anyone could have dreamed. Her hair has grown longer almost down to her waist.

"I'm home, Sakura~" Rin greets with a smile.

"Ehehe...welcome home...Nee-san~" Sakura replies.

"Almost done preparing our lunch for the picnic~?" Rin says. "I'm kinda starving~"

"Almost there, Nee-san," Sakura says. "In fact, would you be so kind as to help me out?"

Rin gives a playful eye roll and obliges.

When everything is ready, the two sisters leave Rin's house and head toward an open park with a tall hill. They set down their basket of goodies after placing a large blanket on the grass. They enjoy their food, sharing indirect kisses with each other while Rin praises Sakura's cooking. When they are done eating, Rin helps pack up the stuff while Sakura decides to take a walk for a bit.

However, while doing so, she notices a Sakura petal pass by her. She turns around and her eyes widen at the sight of newly blossomed cherry blossom trees right in front of her. Were they supposed to be blooming at this time of season?

Sakura's beautiful purple tresses sway with the gentle breeze that caresses her cheeks and a single cherry blossom petals flutters by her cheek, just out the corner of her eye.

'Be happy, please.'

It's a whisper in the wind and Sakura gasps softly, looking off towards the tree line, seeing one petal soar above and disappear into the sky.

"...BB-san..." She says in a soft whisper to herself. Then, she smiles. "Yes…"

Then, she feels another familiar presence and when she feels Rin's hand touching hers, Sakura immediately intertwines their fingers together.

"They must be blooming for you." Rin says with a smile, also enjoying the view before them.

Sakura blinks twice. "Wha?" She utters in adorable confusion.

Rin chuckles and easily pucks a swaying cherry blossom out of mid-air, holding it gently, carefully between her thumb and index fingertips.

"It's been a year, Sakura. A year since...that." Rin says softly, looking from the petal in her fingers to Sakura next to her.

"...yeah. A lot happened then, yet...it feels like a distant dream..." She first looks down at she and Rin's intertwined hands, then, smiling again, she looks back up at the beautiful blue, clear sky.

"It's Ok, now, though. We're together. We're here the cherry blossoms. This is our reality." Rin says, confident, calm, and then she and Sakura let go of their hands to instead share a tender, tight hug.

"Yes...Nee-san. Thank you. Thank you so much. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. I love you, Nee-san!" Sakura says, a single tear of joy gliding down her cheek as she nuzzles Rin's cheek with hers like a sweet kitten.

"Me too, Sakura. I love you too like you have no idea." Rin replies, and she and Sakura pull back to gaze into each other's eyes, before Rin's fingers once again caress Sakura's bright red ribbon while the little sister softly caresses her elder's side ponytail.

Then, Sakura and Rin meet half-way in a sweet, tender kiss that sends their hearts aflutter and the cherry blossoms soaring into the sky.
