Princess Tutu Scenarioes #1:
What if Pike is a Lot More Observant Than You Thought?
Warning: Mythos!Bashing, Rue!Bashing, (Latent Evil Mythos! AU)
Premise: What if Pike had realized Ahiru's secret? And what if she was there during the last episode?
Just as Ahiru accepted her fate as a duckling, a scream was heard in the distance. 'That noise...' thought Ahiru. It sounds just like...
Just as she thought, it was Ahiru's friend Pike. She was sweating, breathing hard from running. She arrived on the scene with fervor. Eyes narrowed in an unforgiving glare, she screamed: 'Don't you dare! Ahiru is going to stay with us forever!" This statement shocked everyone. Rue, the raven princess; Fakir, Drosselmeyer's descendant; even Mythos, the prince. He stepped closer and asked, "What do you mean?"
Pike decided then and there that she hated the guy. "How dare you use Ahiru for your own selfish gain. She transformed for you guys' sake! How does it make sense for her to have to sacrifice herself so you idiots can have a happpy ever after? Hm? Does it say somewhere that just because you're a prince, you deserve happiness the most?!" Pike finished in a shout. Mythos' eyes widened. Guilt poured inside his stomach, but he held firm. "I understand you concerns...but this is how everyone decided things will go. Fakir even agreed."
"Oh right, use Fakir, why don't you. Honestly, do you have even one shred of assertiveness inside that scrawny body? Do you always have to hide behind your roommate?"
Ahiru couldn't take it anymore. She could see that Pike's words hurt Mythos deeply, and she loved him. Even if he didn't love her. "Pike, enough! He's...he's right. This is how things are meant to go."
Rue intercepted, "Yes, Pike. I know this is tough but your friends' sacrifice will save this town. Please don't stand in her way."
That comment made Pike march over there. Each step ladened with pure fury. She only stopped once she was face to face with Rue, who had begun to sweat a little, but daren't show any weakness to the intimidating pinkette. "What did you just say? I'm standing in her way?"
"Yes. Leave Ahiru alone."
"Yes, I have to leave her alone, so she can throw her life away. All so you and your little boyfriend can live happily ever after. Is that it? That's not very princess-like of you. Then again, that does suit your raven-like persona. Like father like daughter, huh?" Pike muttered darkly.
Rue went crazy. "How dare you speak about him like that?! You don't know anything!"
Pike was undeterred. "I know that it's waste for someone kind like Ahiru to lay her life down for a spoiled princess like you. You don't deserve anything at all. If you were even a little self-aware, you'd know it too. And you," she leveled her eyes at Mythos, who took a startled step back. "You are the worst. Taking advantage of Ahiru's love for you. After she suffered how many times to find your heart pieces. She didn't have to do any of that! She could've left you alone, and you would have suffered until your last day. And you, even knowing all that, can choose this vile thing," she pointed at Rue, "instead of her? And smile at her when you know her heart is breaking?"
"You won't even let her stay human," she muttered. "Do you hate her that much?"
A tense silence hung over the friends. Mythos seemed stuck inside his own mind, unresponsive. This unsettled Rue, his future Queen, who saw his emotions change before her very eyes. "Mythos my love," she screamed as she shook him. "Snap out of it. Don't listen to that woman!"
Pike scoffed, "Right. Instead, he should listen only to you. That's what you want, isn't it?"
Rue grit her teeth. "No! You're wrong! I, I...I love Mythos. He saved me even though I was that man's daughter. He is my light!"
"Then, what right do you have to monopolize him? You know that if you hadn't pushed, he would have been by Ahiru's side. And that frightened you, didn't it?"
"You don't understand. Ahiru is already so warm and kind. She doesn't need him like I do." Rue responded hysterically. That statement made Mythos flinch.
"Rue...That's all I am to you? Someone soothing that you need to remind yourself that you're not evil?" Mythos said, tears unshed hidden in his eyes. "Rue, do you even love me?"
Rue chose this moment to let every thought escape. "Love? Don't make me laugh! You humans and your idea of love, it's so childish! No, my feeling is better," she stepped closer. "More reliable, more true! I only want to make you my own, how is that a bad thing?"
"It's to be expected," Pike commented from the side thoughtfully. "From the beginning, you knew you were getting together with a raven-like woman. Ravens love things that glitter, no - it's more like an obsession. Turns out, you are the gem to her Raven." Pike finished with a joyless smile. "Why are you smiling? Why are you happy?!" Mythos roared, clutching his head in pain. "Everything has fallen apart! My life...our love..."
Pike looked at him like the trash he was. "I only came to shout a bit at you and take Ahiru back to Lilie. But seeing your cheerful smile, mocking Ahiru's pain...it made me angry. But never did I expect that your love was held together with such flimsy material," she grinned. "Hey, if you're feeling miserable, blame yourself. And do some self-reflection, or you'll stay lifeless, gem-like and unresponsive for the rest of your life. That's a fun thought, isn't it?" Pike said, standing over him with malice in her eyes. She hated him, and he knew she did.
Pike picked up the unresponsive Ahiru, who had fainted, and brushed by Fakir's side. He had seen everything go down. She said, "Truthfully, I always thought you would end up by Ahiru's side."
"Considering what I've done, I don't deserve something like that."
"Is that so?" she said, leaving.
Fakir looked on as her figure became a dot on the horizon, before looking back at his 'friends'. Rue, who was screaming in hysteria at her incomplete understanding of the human conscious. And Mythos, the selfish gem-like prince, who was sitting on the dirty ground, silent tears falling. Even then did his body refuse to betray him. He looked like a prince from a painting, dainty and gem-like.
'I've been around Mythos for years, and even I didn't know. I didn't know that Rue knew about Ahiru's feelings, or that Mythos was fine with sacrificing Ahiru for his happiness with the raven girl. The question is...how did that Pike girl know?'
He went home. Mythos was no longer his problem to handle. And in a way, that was a nice feeling.
