AN: And with that we've reached the end of the story. Thank you to everyone for reading. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

If Alex thought that Jo would be any better at home then when she was at the hospital, he should have known better. The first week she did relax and took it easy. She mostly just hung out with the girls as they played and had lazy days together.

However, she got bored. She started doing little projects around the house. She fixed that one cabinet that didn't close, scrubbed the laundry room tiles, reorganized the hall closet, and added more plants to the backyard. She also planned out some easy summer and fall activities for the girls, which they loved. She went as far to plan a princess tea party with all their friends and ordered the girls a bouncy house. Of course, her biggest project was completing the nursery.

Alex didn't have a problem with any of this, he did however protest when she tried to lift the heavy storage boxes and when she worked all day to clean. She wasn't supposed to strain herself and do hard labor. Therefore Alex was forced to take over these projects for her. Helena and Luna did enjoy going to Home Depot with him and they attended some of the kids classes they had.

Soon enough Jo starts wanting to do more things on her own and purposefully circumventing him. She got up early, which she had never done before, to do these things. Therefore he wasn't surprised when the door alarm woke him up at 6:30 in the morning. Alex groaned and rolled over, not surprised to find the bed empty he reluctantly got up and walked downstairs. He walked out into the garage to see Jo opening the garage door. She was dressed for a walk with Luna in the stroller and Reeses on the leash next to her.

"Where do you think you're going?" Alex asked her, crossing his arms as Jo just smiled and turned around to face him.

'Hi Daddy,' Luna signed to him from the stroller and Resses bounded over to him as Alex bent down to give him a good rub.

"Hi Little Moon. I see Mama has got you wrapped up in her shenanigans today," Alex said to her, walking up to her and leaning down to hug her in the stroller before he stood up and looked at Jo who just smiled.

"She didn't want to wear her hearing aids this morning," Jo said as she smiled down at Luna.

Alex nodded and signed to her, 'Good morning, Little Moon, what are you doing?'

'Walk,' Luna signed back to him.

"We're going on a walk, in the hopes someone will fall back asleep," Jo said putting her hands on the stroller handle, still intending to go.

Alex nodded as he knew Luna was prone to waking up early and they often struggled to put her back down. This led to a fussy morning before nap. A good walk around the neighborhood, cuddling in mommy and daddy's bed, or swinging in the hammock in the yard usually did the trick.

"Well I hope it's just to go to the mailbox and back, because any further and you'll have to wait for me to get ready and get Helena," Alex said, raising his eyebrows at her he still worried she was pushing herself too far.

"Oh come on Alex, it's just a little walk around the neighborhood and I'm not even going to go more than two or three blocks," Jo lamented as she pouted.

Alex sighed as he looked down at Luna who stared out the garage door at the morning grey sky and wet grass. They agreed not to fight in front of the girls, but if Luna couldn't see or hear them, it would be okay. But he had a feeling they would drag this out to a full blow fight.

"Jo, we both know that you can't go anywhere without someone with you in case something happens. What if you fainted again and I don't know until one of the neighbors is calling for an ambulance for the woman who's passed out on their front lawn?!"

"That's not going to happen, I haven't fainted since before my heart surgery."

"You don't know that, something could still happen."

"You worry too much and you don't let me do anything on my own anymore," Jo raised her voice as she gestured with her arm. "I can't even go to the bathroom, unless I leave the door unlocked."

"Yeah, in case you pass out so I can get to you!" Alex matched her tone and his eyebrows came low as he glared at her.

"You're too worried about something that's not going to happen, Alex," Jo yelled as she started to push the stroller before Alex raced to step in front of her and stop her from moving forward.

Reeses bounced and went as far as he could on the leash, eager to go on a walk. Jo paused and they looked down at Luna who smiled up at them as she clutched her little unicorn and signed. "Walk.'

"I've recovered, Alex," Jo said, setting him with a determined look. "We had this fight before I left the hospital. It's been two and a half months, you have to let me get back to my life."

He remembered the first night they put Helena to sleep in her cribs in her room with Luna. He worried and tossed and turned the whole night, listening to the baby monitor for her every sound she made. With Luna it was easy, they had left her every day and night since she was at the hospital, although they kept her closer when they got home, she was older too it was easier to let her sleep in her room as most nights as she wasn't waking up every few hours.

Alex looked at his wife, really looked at her. Even at 32 weeks she was still getting around well and was active and energetic. She had fully received as much as she could while still heavily pregnant. He knew he had to let her go on this walk alone.

"Okay, go and I'll make some breakfast for you two when you get back," Alex said, giving her a reluctant smile.

Jo had an enormous smile across her lips as he moved to the side and let her walk past. She had a spring in her step as they walked down the driveway. Luna and Jo waved to him as they walked down the sidewalk. He watched them walk down the sidewalk for a while longer than he should have. He watched them turn to walk across to the street and walk back past the house on the opposite street. Then he went back inside as promised and made them pancakes, eggs, and coffee.
