After being kicked out by his out-of-control mother, Jack has no one to turn to. So he calls someone who will take him in for a few days in a huge house on the Upper Eastside. It's a new beginning. Chapter I: A new beginning...

Raised in the slums of Brooklyn, New York, Jack Archer never had the chance to develop his talents and exploit his vast intelligence. With a father in prison, a delinquent brother and an alcoholic and drug-addicted mother, he never bothered to try and break the vicious circle in which he was immersed. His life takes a sudden turn when he is indicted for complicity in a car theft organized by his brother, who finds himself in prison. He then meets Peter Benson, a legal aid lawyer, who sees in this bright, jaded young man what he himself had once been, and advises him to fight for a better life.

After being thrown out by his enraged mother, Jack has no one to turn to. So he turns to his lawyer, Peter Benson who takes him in for a few days at his huge uptown house. There he meets Peter's wife Keira and their shy, reclusive son Dal, who confides in Jack. Touched by Jack's situation - he's too old to be in a foster home - and responding to arguments that their son had befriended him, Peter and his wife Keira decided to give him a second chance and become his legal guardians.

So, Jack is integrated into the same high school as Dal by the Benson to resume his schooling. But for Jack, it's not just about living with another family, it's also about learning to live in a world populated by rich kids. Jack must now get used to the new neighborhood, the Benson way of life, a new high school, resume his studies, acquire new knowledge, make new friends, make new enemies... It's just a new beginning!
