The Demon Of The Nine-Nine

Disclaimer: I do not own Halo or Brooklyn 99 in any way, shape or form. They belong to their respective owners.

RXWriter: I'm sure it did but at least Jake now knows that actions have consequences.

loganminnaar2001: I'm glad.

197kr: Why would Amy be sympathetic to Jake? He isn't a victim, he brought on himself when he jeopardized the case by going on a date with the medical examiner which nearly resulted in the victim's wife getting away with murder.

ayerdehoy: Thanks!

Writing for Improvement: I hope that this chapter was worth the wait.

Damien Evermere: I don't know about a dick, but he was certainly immature at the beginning. But personally, I think that he went through a hell of a lot of character development even in season 1 with him improving as a character even by the end of the first season. Holt would never have allowed him to go undercover or trust him enough for him not to testify.

Kigen No KitsuneOokami: It was that bad? And I hope this chapter was worth the wait.

Guest: Thankfully I'm getting notifications from the site again, though we'll how long that last for. And the only place I can find the series is on Amazon Prime, but not the first season. Not sure if it's a regional thing.

NeroUmu: Hopefully this was worth the wait.

FallenMetalGod: You're welcome, and I'm glad you liked it. It had to be done, the only reason nothing happened in the series is because one, it's a comedy, and two, Holt probably never found about it. And I can see that happening...with her hating him even more because of it, lol.

CallMeCayde: It was?

Octavio Constant: It came across as sarcasm, my bad. And no, you're not asking too much but if there is a while before updates then it's because some days, I just want to relax rather than sitting in front of the computer. And fillers are probably annoying, but I don't want to have some massive time skip and just mention it in a flashback or a few sentences.

Jestalnaker94000: Thanks, and yes, he has. And it is a good image, lol. One that I might just employ in my Vampire Diaries fic. And like I said, I really don't know much about The Boys universe other than the clips I've seen on YouTube and from what I've seen Homelander could just speedblitz Six or just slice him in half with his heat vison if he wanted too.

Guestfyre: It's a gift, lol.

It probably will...when he returns. Hopefully. I watched the first movie before reading the books and thought it was alright, but after reading them, yeah, it's just a terrible adaption. I think the only good thing was Sean Bean playing Zeus, which is one of the few roles he had where he doesn't die, lol.

It'll be a while before that happens, he's only been with them a little over a month at this point...and he will probably be stubborn about it too, mostly because it means admitting that Dot was right. And who knows, something like that might happen in the future...whether it actually happens or just in her head is yet to be decided.

And Rosa too damn prideful to admit it, and she might come to reconsider that belief in time.

That was probably a huge factor too. That and as someone mentioned, they are in the Union...as well as it being a comedy show. And it probably will be, more for the squad then Six wanting the food himself.

And who know, you might just see it. Not sure about Amy though. Only reason that Rosa would be in one is because she lost the bet and so is forced to wear one and clean Six's home, I can't really why Amy would be wearing a maid outfit since she has to go on a date with Six if he wins the bet.

Guess it all depends on if Six and Dot ever figure out that this is their universe or some alternate one that they landed in. "Disappointed Big Brother mode" Yeah, I can see that. And so did Jake!

Krieger Techpriest: He very well could be. And his head won out this time. And I think that would be a little too much...just imagine if Six suddenly looked at the readers!

GeorgeQuartz: Then I hope that this chapter was worth the wait. And, I mean, by the time of the eight season, Six might not even be the Demon anymore, giving it up depending on what happens over the years and when he starts becoming more human as time goes by.

There are not names: Thanks! And Six and Amy would be a cute couple. Also, Rosa isn't completely emotionless, she has her moments. Plus, Rosa and Pimento don't really work out anyway, as I'm sure you saw in the series.

commandarstarscream123: I'm glad you like it; and hopefully you will this one too!

Ranger McAleer: I hope this one doesn't disappoint.

Guest: Thanks!

Apple424: Thanks, man, I appreciate it.

Master of the Underworld: I think that's a given, especially after a month of having no arrests whereas Six, Amy, and Rosa do. And the Mustang was already fixed when he repaired it for Jake in the chapter when they worked out together.

Darth Ralan: You are? Sounds awesome….and stressful. And I don't know if it would mess Six up, but it would certainly be an experience for him.

Sixfan29: Thanks! And she just might, lol. Honestly, I don't think the world is ready for next-gen humans to be running around...especially not with parents like Six and Rosa. And what Gina wants and what Gina gets are two different things.

I think that Six will have some restraint knowing that it wouldn't look good if it got out that he was messaging porn stars...or maybe he just won't care. But I'm sure that they won't be complaining when his libido is finally awakened, much to the envy of Jake. And it's more playful teasing by the squad than Amy revealing her interests, but who know, she might have thing for library porn.

Six and Rosa's interactions/heated debates are always fun to write. And I think they would. Well only Rosa would be dressed and forced to be a maid, Amy has to go on a date with Six. And "associate" thank you very much, lol. He was, but thankfully he got much better as the series went on.

Six is paranoid by nature, but it worked in his favour this time. And Jake would lose his shit if that happened, wondering what he had to do to get just a small taste of Jericho's life. Oh, he will. And seems like it. The benefits of having an Artificial Intelligence. Charles is treated like an equal, what's not to like. And he needed a dressing down after spending the last eight years doing as he pleased. And if Jake has to be punished, so does she. Takes two to tango, after all.

Kill king: Even though I have got a couple of idea for a few new stories, I'm gonna hold off on writing any more stories for the time being...at least that is the plan as I type this, but knowing me I'll probably write up a story and upload it if inspiration hits me.

Winterwolf23543: Six can give as good as he gets.

Severmeta: I think I started getting notifications again like a day after a I posted the last chapter. Fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong again.

War Sage: And there is still more to come, as you'll see in this chapter. Before reading the books, I thought that the first Percy Jackson film was okay, but rather reading them I saw just how much they butchered their adaption. Hilarious...and terrifying. That's Charles for you, no filter! Well, what Gina wants and what Gina gets are two different things.

Experienced porn stars might be able to handle it better. And I could see Jake saying that, maybe even ask him if he regretted picking the wrong career. But fortunately, Jake does greatly improve with time. And I think that it is very unlikely that Six will become the submissive one; and what can I say, Six likes when Rosa glares at him. The benefits of having an artificial intelligence as a partner/friend.

Six treats them with respect and like equals, I think that the entire squad prefers his way of doing things. And that she does; he's trained both his mind and body to perfection, he's literally her ideal man. it had to be done, Jake compromised an ongoing investigation because he went on a date rather than doing his job. Again, he needed to be done and is a stark reminder to everyone that unlike McGintley, Holt would tolerate such unprofessionalism in the workplace.

Terry is like a disappointed dad. And if Jake gets suspended, it only seems fair that she does too. He's been with them for, then, a month, which has given her plenty of times to decipher what each of his grunts mean. That it does, and by quite a few points too allowing Amy, Rosa, and Six to get quite the advantage on him.

gabekaykwok: I don't know who that is, sorry. And as for a fistfight, well Six might get reported if he does that while on duty.

Jebest4781: Then I hope that this chapter was worth the wait. Enjoy.

Marlastiano: You're welcome!

Angry lil Elf: Thanks! But they've seemed to have fixed the problem for now; hopefully it lasts. And things can only go up for Jake now...well, unless he loses his job, but I don't plan for that to happen since as I've mentioned on numerous reviews now, Jake does improve as the series progresses. At the start of the series, Jake proclaimed that he was the best detective on the squad, so having to be secondary was a massive blow to his pride.

And Six just doesn't care enough, lol. And that's a pretty cool idea. I was already thinking about employing Mantis Blades into the story that some other tech company builds and Six has to deal with them. But I might just have to incorporate the others too, plus Adam Smasher, but alter his backstory a little since there have been no corporate wars in this universe.

Nagiten: I had the exact that same problem for over a month. I even tried switching emails, and nothing. Thankfully they have finally resolved the issue.

Brainstorm Sorcerer: I really didn't mean to make everyone wait so long, but with how the site had been recently, I didn't want to risk uploading and nobody saw it. Thankfully everything seems to have been resolved, let's hope it stays fixed. And that is a good point about Holt, but wasn't he in a much better mood after his talk with Amy about the monthly statistics remaining the same?

They really were, hopefully the series can redeem them. And no comment about Charles, lol. But a child of Six and Rosa running around...the world is doomed! Despite being inappropriate, I just don't think that Six will care enough about Gina's comments to do anything about them seeing them as harmless...and not realizing that she's talking about him lewdly; that helps.

Rosa just hates it because it's like he's saying it just to prove he's smarter than her...and she has a hate/hate relationship with him. And I think that it's only a matter of time until it happens, and by matter of time, I mean pretty soon. He's been with them over a month now, that she hasn't jumped him yet speaks volumes of her restraint, though hating him probably plays a huge part into it too!

Can you really blame Jake? Jericho has porn stars sending him messages and he's just ignoring them. If it had been anyone else...yeah, enough said. And the copy room might be torn down, the space being used to extend Holt's office since it is next door, giving him a bigger room; we'll see. And Jake hates reading, but has read...fourteen books, I think. If he does read Nothing Lasts Forever, he might begrudgingly agree that it is better than the film, the MC having a more compelling reason than McClane did.

Charles not liking it was more not liking how everything was changing at the Nine-Nine after the last, at least eight years of everything staying the same. It's probably not the greatest thing to keep doing, but Jake wants a piece of that multibillionaire lifestyle...and Six is his way in. No, I don't think so. It's just harmless fun, and I don't want to take out all the comedy from the series and Charles' inuendo is part of his charm.

In time I think that he will do, yes. And it very well might be, you'll have to wait and see. Terry loves being Scary Terry, but not when he has to be mean to his friends. And I guess that is true, but with Six picking up the slack that will no longer be a problem...at least for the precincts that he works at. Kelso's punishment will be revealed when Six has to go to Sacred Heart for whatever reason, but it won't be this chapter.

The paparazzi and reports might bring it up, but Six has spent ten years burying it all away, he's not gonna crack and snap at anyone if they bring up Noble Team, though whoever is with him might. I think that Sharon would be very grateful if Six has upped Terry's stamina game thanks to the training that the two have been doing now for over a month.

Six will be lacking in that area, but I'm certain that Carla, Amy, Rosa, and whoever else is interested in him will be happy to give him some lessons, even if Rosa's would be rougher than the others. And I messed up on the elevator scene, I keep telling myself that there was no music...and then I put in music, I'm an idiot! Really? I would have thought that being the MC that Jake would be in your top five at least. And that really would have been a low blow, but at this point doesn't Jake still idolize his dad until he realizes that he's a crappy day, and pilot?

HyenaMan: Thanks, man. And it really would. Brooklyn 99 is mainly a comedy show, but there will be elements of realism in there too...or as realistic as a supersoldier working for the NYPD can be. And the Vulture is okay in small doses, and I'm guessing that you mean when Terry manhandled him in the episode where Jake gets to live his Die-Hard fantasy.

Chapter 21.

Arriving at the precinct, Rosa drove down into the parking lot and pulled up next to the Chevrolet Chevelle. Switching the engine off, she brought up the kickstand as she got off her Yamaha R1 and removed her helmet. Shaking her head, freeing her thick black hair, she lifted the seat and pulled out the heavy-duty chain lock to secure her bike.

Once it was locked, she grabbed her helmet and left the parking lot. Walking down the street and towards the entrance, she clicked her tongue in annoyance when she saw that paparazzi, a politer way of saying stalker, camping out across the street to snap a shot of that scar-faced bastard that was her partner; though why anyone in their right mind would want a picture of his ugly mug was beyond her. There was no accounting for taste apparently.

Acting like they weren't there, Rosa went on about her life and stepped into the precinct. Walking up the stairs, she headed into the elevator that was thankfully empty. About to hit the button, she stopped when she spotted Amy reaching the top of the stairs and decided to wait for her, tolerating her presence slightly over the others.

"Morning, Rosa!" Amy cheerfully greeted as she stepped into the elevator, only to be followed by Charles who dawdled behind her looking like a lost puppy, competently out of his element without Jake. "Good weekend?"

"It was alright." Rosa replied, hitting the button once Charles was in. As the door closed, she looked at him. "And are you still moping? It's been two weeks already."

With a depressed sigh, Charles answered. "The longest two weeks of my life; and I've still got another two without Jake in my life. It really is like they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder."

"You sure you two are just friends?" Rosa smirked at Charles. "And don't you hang out like every night."

"Best Friends." Charles corrected her immediately. "And you know it's not the same!"

Rolling her dark eyes, Amy turned to Charles. "You do realize that he's only been suspended."

"Only?!"

"Which he brought on himself." Amy voiced indifferently. Charles meanwhile looked like he had been struck by her remark. "If Jake had actually done his job instead of doing what he wanted like usual then he wouldn't have been suspended, even if it was satisfying watching Holt call him out in front of everyone."

"And shouldn't you be mad at Jake?" Rosa asked Charles. "He nearly blew your entire case." If it had been her, she would have punched him in the balls so hard that they would have gone back inside him.

"You know I can't stay mad at him." Charles told her.

The bell dinging, Rosa snorted as the door opened. "And you wonder why he walks all over you." She said stepping out of the elevator only to stop mid-step when she saw that the room had been renovated further over the weekend with the floor being ripped up, replaced with a dark-brown hardwood that made the room look pretty dope...not that she'd ever admit it out loud considered who it was that probably did it.

Stepping out behind Rosa, Amy gasped when she saw yet another alteration made to the fourth floor. Crouching, she ran her fingers across the new flooring. "It's real!" She informed the two them. "Actual hardwood, rather than vinyl flooring to go over the top of the old one."

Walking out behind Amy, Charles looked around. "You think Jericho did all this?"

"Definitely." Amy expressed with salacious smile, already imagining Jericho doing all the manual labour by himself.

"In a few hours?" Charles asked just as the elevator door closed and heard it going down.

"Probably." Rosa commented as she walked off. Stepping into the bullpen, she stopped once again when she noticed that the shaders in the breakroom had been replaced with nicer ones. Growing curious, she went to investigation before stopping once again upon noticing the new kitchen that had been installed, the old one like the floor being ripped out and replaced.

The brand-new cupboards were painted white with silver handles. The kitchen countertop was black that had a sink installed and numerous other appliances across it. There was also an oven, one that looked state-of-the-art. To the right was a refrigerator that had a water and ice dispenser, and a microwave that was built into the wall, saving space rather than having it cluttering up the side, and even a dishwasher.

"Now that is what I call a kitchen!" Charles announced, his depression regarding Jake being suspended all but forgotten about as he walked over to the brand-new kitchen that was calling his name.

While Charles was distracted with the kitchen, Rosa continued what she originally set out to do and wandered over to the breakroom. Her eyes widened and reeled back in surprise when she peered inside.

Just like the bullpen, the breakroom had been renovated with everything they knew being ripped out. The room had been freshly plastered, getting rid of the dents and holes from the pins they had stabbed into the walls over the years, and the windows that looked out into the balcony leaving an entire wall that had been painted griege, as had the rest of the room. The old carpet had also been pulled up, replaced with a soft cream carpet.

On the wall to the left, as soon as you entered the room was a flatscreen television that sat in front of the large, padded U-shaped couch that was coloured grey, complimenting the griege walls. Underneath the TV was a soundbar along with a shelf that had a black Wii U with several games, along with the gamepad, a couple of controllers, and the remote for the TV.

Looking over at the wall where the vending machines should have been, she saw that they were there...just not the ones they knew. Like everything else in the room, they had been replaced better ones with one having cold drinks, while the other had food. And on the wall that had windows that looked out onto the bullpen was a brand-new coffee machine with various sized cups next to it.

"Someone pinch me." Amy whispered softly, then yelped when Rosa did exactly that. "It was a figure of speech!" She cried out, rubbing her arm. Walking away from the smirking Rosa, she wandered over to the new couch that was so much nicer than the old one and slowly sat down and sighed blissfully when she sunk into the comfortable cushion. "It soooo much nicer."

"It's alright, I guess." Rosa mumbled, refusing to complement the breakroom just in case that scar-faced bastard suddenly emerged from whether he was hiding and heard her. She could almost see his smug look...even if he expressed it via his eyes rather than smirking or grinning like anyone else would have. Forgetting about him for the moment, she walked over to where the coffee machine was sitting.

Staring at the display screen, she saw various hot drinks shown such as coffee, no-brainer there, tea, cappuccino, hot chocolate, etc, etc. Grabbing one of the white mugs, she placed it down underneath the nozzle. Pressing the symbol for a cappuccino, she watched as the picture change with a loading circle replacing the previous screen before the machine powered up and started making her drink which took around ten seconds.

The hot vapour escaping the top of the white mug, Rosa grabbed her cappuccino and lifted it up to her face with the aroma hitting her nostrils. Bringing it to her lips, she went to take a small sip, however before she could...

"Careful. You wouldn't want to choke on that hot, frothy liquid." Charles cautioned appearing out of nowhere to warn Rosa who glared daggers at him and looked seconds away from smashing the mug and using the broken part to stab him in the throat. Alas, before any of that could happen.

"DAMN!"

Stopping what they were doing, Amy, Charles, and Rosa turned to see Terry looking around like a kid...a 6'2, super-muscular kid in a candy store. His eyes landing on the couch, he walked over and plopped himself down on the end part. "Oooooh, Terry knows where he is spending his breaks." He proclaimed leaning back and resting his arms behind his head comfortably.

"Get in line, Sarge." Rosa said around her mug. "I've already called dibs on the TV." She voiced, taking a sip of her cappuccino, and fought back a moan at how good it tasted.

From where she was sitting on the couch, Amy glanced over at Rosa. "When?"

"Just then."

"You can't do that."

"Just did." Rosa smirked triumphantly as she walked around and grabbed the remote from the shelf before sitting on the couch near Amy with her hot drink. Pressing the button, she switched the TV on.

"Hey!"

"Ya snooze, ya lose." Rosa taunted Amy and Terry as she brought up the menu guide and started skimming through to see what channels and packages they owned to see that they had them all, which made sense since it was Noble TV.

While Rosa was busy looking through the TV menu, Amy got up from the couch and grabbed the black gamepad for the Wii U. Sitting back down, she switched it on and watched as both the screen and console on the shelf powered up with the log being displayed across the former. Once it had loaded up, she went through the menu to see that various games and apps had already been installed on the homepage.

"Never took you for a gamer."

Her eyes never leaving the gamepad, Amy answered Terry. "I'm not, well, not anymore. I mean I was really into Pokémon when I was thirteen, but everyone was when it first came out." She muttered embarrassingly, really underselling how obsessed she became with those games...and being better than stupid, perfect David.

"Oh, look at me, I caught all the Legendary Pokémon on my first try without even meaning too because I'm so much better than everyone at everything I do."

Seeing Amy pull a face, Terry spoke up. "You okay?"

"Fine." Amy grumbled bitterly, her mood souring at the mere thought of her parents' golden child.

"What happened?!" Scully cried out, revealing his presence to everyone.

Looking over at him and Hitchcock who were both standing at the door, Terry answered him. "The place has been renovated. Doesn't it look great!"

"What have you done with her?" Scully demanded with a thunderous expression.

"Her?"

"What do you think? The vending machines!" Hitchcock clarified for Terry, just as angry as Scully.

"Don't look at us." Rosa pacified him, though her tone couldn't have sounded any less interested.

Not appeased in the slightest, Scully frowned. "Then where is it?"

"I removed it."

Turning to face him, Hitchcock glared up at Jericho. "Then you better un-remove it, pal, if you know what good for you."

"Negative." Jericho declined, undeterred by Hitchcock's aggression. "Upon closer inspection of the vending machine, which I had intended to leave, many of the wires had been chewed through and there were rat droppings in the bottom." He explained making everyone gag...almost everyone.

"But the food was fine!" Scully stubbornly insisted.

"The food was contaminated."

"You don't know that!" Scully argued with Jericho. "And you just threw it all away, you monster!"

Just as outraged as his partner, Hitchcock vented. "You didn't even let us say goodbye to her. How could you be so cruel, so heartless?"

"It was an inanimate object."

Scully bristled at Jericho's words. "To you! But to us, to us it was our oldest friend...and you took it from her."

"Their dramatics aside," Amy cut in, stopping Hitchcock or Scully from saying anything else. "The vending machines look much nicer than our old ones, I'm guessing that you brought them?"

"Hm."

"Does that mean that we'll be paying you for the food and drink?"

"In a manner of speaking." Jericho informed Amy. "While the food and drink will be supplied by me, all proceeds earned will go to charity."

"I love that idea."

Terry enthusiastically agreed with Amy. "Me too! Now when I buy something my belly and heart will feel good." He smiled as Hitchcock and Scully headed over to the vending machine that had food and wasted no time in getting something to eat.

"What, never seen a man donate to charity before?" Hitchcock asked the lot of them.

Not listening or even caring what Hitchcock said, Rosa looked past him and over at the vending machine that Scully was using. "I more surprised that it's filled with actual food rather than the crap he eats."

"I knew I'd wear you down eventually."

"Incorrect." Jericho told Charles, getting a pout from him. "I had intended on filling the vending machines with the items from the MRE's since they possess a long shelf life and necessary nutrients to fuel the human body, but I was convinced otherwise."

"By?" Amy inquired, grateful that he hadn't. How Jericho could stomach those MRE's was beyond her, it was like eating cardboard. She could still taste the blandness even a month later...wow, had it really been that long already?

"A friend."

Amy smiled a little. "A friend? High praise coming from you."

"Hm."

"And that is?"

Jericho looked over at Rosa. "You told me you were uninterested in my life, Rosalita."

"And I meant it." Rosa assured him with a small growl. "I just want to know who we should thank."

Before anything else could be said, Scully interrupted. "Um, Jericho, the screen has stopped working." He said, tapping the touch screen at the side.

"It never happened with the old one." Hitchcock remarked haughtily.

With a flat look, Jericho replied calmly. "Clean your fingers."

"...it's working again." Scully smiled brightly once he did as Jericho told him and proceeded to buy a few more goodies for breakfast.

From her place on the couch, Rosa smirked. "Only an idiot would buy a touchscreen with those two around." She stated, happily mocking her partner as she skimmed through the channels.

"How was brunch on Saturday?" Jericho asked as he grabbed a mug and placed it before the coffee machine. Behind him, Rosa glared furiously at him; and if looks could kill his head would have decorated the windows.

Tearing her eyes from the gamepad, Amy turned to Rosa with an excited look. "Why didn't you tell me you like brunch? I know this great little place we can go too."

"That we can go too." Gina corrected stepping into the breakroom. "Mmmm, not bad." She complimented before looking over at where Jericho was standing in front of the brand-new coffee machine. "Is there anything you can't do?" She asked, guessing that he was behind the renovation.

Feeling a headache beginning, Rosa glared daggers at that scar-faced fucker that was ruining her reputation in front of everyone. "I'm going to kill you."

"No, you won't." Terry laughed, speaking for Jericho. "Your big old softie, and everyone knows it!

Glowering at Terry who was still laughing gleefully, Rosa turned back to that motherfucker and glared as hard as she could...which had no effect on him, which only angered her further. As did him grabbing his mug, bringing it to his scarred lips and took a drink, never once taking his smug blue eyes off her.

"How did you manage all this in a few hours?"

Finishing the sip of black coffee, Jericho looked at Charles. "I didn't. The renovation took the majority of the weekend to ensure it would be completed by today."

"That's what you meant when you said you had work to do. You should have said, I would've helped."

"Weekends are reserved for your significant other and offspring." Jericho reminded Terry.

"It's Sharon, Cagney, and Lacey. Come on, man, you've met them!"

While Terry sulked, Amy brought the conversation back. "So...um, did you do all the work yourself?"

"Hm."

"All the manual labour."

"Hm."

"Even fitting the kitchen?"

"Yes."

"Ooooh, Mama!" Amy whimpered before quickly looking back down at the gamepad in her hands as her imagination ran wild about him doing all that working alone at the weekend. She pictured him being meticulous with the measurements, ensuring that everything fitted perfectly. Sticking the pencil behind his ear and marking up where he needed to cut...or maybe he did it all by eye, being the constant professional that he was in everything he did.

Actually, now that she thought about it didn't Jericho install new camaras throughout the fourth-floor last week? She could probably slip away and watch the recording for herself when nobody was watching and...

"What about the weekend squad?" Charles asked, pulling Amy from her thoughts about Jericho renovating the fourth floor further. "Didn't they get in the way?"

"I arranged for the fourth floor to be vacated for the weekend so that the work could be completed." Jericho informed Charles and the others before leaving the room with his mug of coffee, leaving them to their business.

"Well, it looks great!" Terry commended looking around the room at all the hard work that Jericho had done over the weekend...even if he felt guilty about the amount of money he had spent over the last few weeks. The computers, chairs, desks, new flooring, paint, the table and TV in the briefing room, the restrooms, and now the breakroom that had been fully renovated and outfitted, along with the new kitchen, it was a lot of money to spend.

"We should try and get some throw pillows for the couch." Amy suggested out loud, looking up from the gamepad and scanned the room. Jericho had done an amazing job renovating the breakroom, but it lacked that certain something that would make the room more relaxed. "Maybe a few scented candles, too."

"It would make it feel more homely." Terry voiced, agreeing with Amy. "But I think that we should buy them ourselves. Jericho has already spent way too much money on this place as it its."

Sitting on the couch, Gina giggled. "Oh, Tear-Bear, he can afford it."

"That's not the point, Gina."

It was nearing lunch. Sitting in front of his computer, Six could feel his skull being bored into. "Are you planning on doing that all day, Rosalita?"

"You're going to suffer." Rosa promised him, glaring intensely from across the desk.

"Am I?"

Rosa scowled at his uninterested tone. "Look at me when I'm threatening you."

"If I did, I would get nothing done."

Torn between smirking and glaring, Rosa settled on the latter. "You think you're so smart."

"Not at all." Six disagreed with his partner, his eyes locked onto the screen. "But you have learned that actions have consequences."

Rosa glared harder at him. "So will you." She vowed.

"Unlikely."

"What makes you so sure?"

Still working, Six answered. "Because if you had anything on me, Rosalita, you would have already employed it against me. An issue I don't have." He informed her. The sound of wheels rolling across the ground filled the room, followed by heels tapping that grew louder with each passing second before the supersoldier was spun around in his chair and looked up at the glaring Latina.

"You have nothing else on me." Rosa growled, gripping the chair, and glaring down at him.

"Are you certain?"

"...Yes."

"The pausation in your voice states otherwise, Rosalita." Six disagreed with her, unconcerned that she was looming over him. "But the fact remains, you don't know...and that incertitude will cause you distrait."

Watching them from across the room, Terry decided to intervene before Rosa could kill Jericho like she looked like she wanted too. "I don't know about the rest of you, but Terry is getting hungry." He said to the others who had also been watching the conversation unfold.

"We have a new kitchen, I could...

"NO!"

Charles pouted. "You guys didn't even let me finish."

"Because knowing you it's going to be gross." Amy pointed out.

"Is it gross to offer your friends a wide selection of..."

"Yes." Amy stopped Charles right there. "Remember last time you brought in those pretzels?" She asked, grimacing at the memory.

"Which none of you ate."

"Because they were deep-fried earthworms." Amy commented flatly.

While Charles was dismayed that his friends wouldn't expand their palate, Hitchcock eagerly looked over at Jericho. "Takeout?"

"Please, please, please, please, please, Jericho." Scully practically begged. "We've been extra good this week."

"It's Monday." Rosa drawled after stepping back from that the smug, scar-faced sonofabitch.

"It still counts!" Hitchcock maintained, agreeing with his partner and best friend.

Saying nothing at first, Six scanned the room and regarded the squad for a moment. "Hm." He grunted turning back to his computer and brought up the website just as Rosalita came and sat on the armrest of his chair.

"Um, Jericho, can I..."

"Get a Big Mac Meal, Banana milkshake, and Oreo McFlurry?" Six finished for Amy.

Feeling her cheeks heat up, Amy smiled embarrassingly. "Yes, please." She nodded. Privately, she wondered if she was really that predictable...or maybe Jericho knew her well enough now to know what she wanted.

"Can Terry get..."

The food arriving quickly, the delivery service seemingly dropping everything to get the massive order for Jericho Reach done as quickly as possible. Inside of the breakroom, the squad could be seen eating their food and playing Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U... almost everyone.

Sitting at his desk, Six rubbed his scarred face as he waited for anything to come to his attention. While he did not wish to encourage transgressions against society, it was moments like this that he missed working in Manhattan. Very rarely did he have the opportunity to sit around and do nothing. There were always disturbances throughout the heart of New York City that needed to be addressed, keeping him busy.

That being said, he was thankful that crime in Brooklyn was at the bare minimum...at least right now. The well-being of civilians was always foremost on his mind. If there was one good thing about being transported to the twenty-first century then it was that humanity would not know suffering like the ones from his time did, wouldn't have to endure the knowledge and reality of living watching their species being wiped out one by one by the Covenant.

Six was pulled from his thoughts when he heard familiar heels tapping across the floor, growing louder with each step. "Can I help you, Amy?" He asked, recognizing her softer footsteps compared to the aggressive gait of Rosalita.

"Aren't you going to come and sit in the breakroom?" Amy inquired, not surprised that Jericho somehow knew that it was her even with his back turned to her. She did notice that the only thing of his lunch that he had touched was his coffee, something that he seemed to live off. "We're playing Mario Kart." She added, hoping to entice him a little.

"Then I won't intrude."

Pouting a little at his blunt refusal, Amy persisted. "Not even one game...it'll be fun." She practically sang out and beamed when Jericho finally turned round in his seat to face her.

"I brought it for your leisure, not mine."

"...it'll be a great teambuilding exercise."

"I acknowledge the logic in your statement." Six accepted, agreeing to the request to improve synergy with the squad like Holt had ordered the first day he had joined the Nine-Nine. Turning back around in his seat to get up, he was unaware of Amy pumping her fist and doing a victory dance behind him, one that she immediately stopped when he got up and turned around.

Composing herself, Amy gestured to his desk. "Don't forget your food." She said getting a grunt of acknowledgement from him. Spinning around with a smile, she walked across the bullpen and back into the breakroom. "Jericho's playing!" She happily announced to the rest of the squad that were lounging on the couch.

"Fine by me." Rosa voiced from where she was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed. "Competition starting to get a little stale." She bragged, then turned and looked directly at her partner. "I can't wait to beat your ass."

From where she was nibbling pieces of her burger, Gina gasped scandalously. "Rosa, we're at work! And FYI, Jericho doesn't strike me as the submissive one."

"He will be."

"Terry would just like to remind everyone that it's only a game."

Sitting down between Amy and Rosa, Six responded. "Rosalita's braggadocio is just a poor attempt of employing psychological warfare, which like her time at the academy ended in failure."

"...but she passed the academy." Amy reminded perplexed, all while Rosa glared menacingly at Jericho.

"I was not referring to the police academy."

"Then what..."

Before Amy could finish the question, Rosa sharply cut her off. "Nothing!" She growled angrily, glaring bloody murder up at Jericho who looked at the screen, acting all innocent like he didn't know what he was doing. Oh, she was going to enjoy breaking him. "Charles! Give him your controller."

"Alright." Charles nodded, coming last the previous race in the order of Amy, Terry, and Rosa, and the other A.I drivers.

Taking the controller from Charles, Six got a feel for it. "What are the buttons?"

"Figure it out yourself."

Amused at how easy it was to get underneath Rosalita's skin, Six turned and looked down to his left. "Amy?"

"Don't tell him."

Taking pity on Amy who looked like she was stuck between a rock and a hard place, Terry helped Jericho out. "Same buttons as every other racing game."

"I've never utilized a home entertainment system before." Six explained to Terry, which resulted in everyone looking at him.

"Bullshit, your company builds them." Rosa retorted, not believing a word that came out of his mouth.

Six turned to Rosalita. "My company also makes cybernetics, yet I haven't had the compulsion to cut one of my limbs off and use them for myself."

"...whatever." Rosa grumbled, refusing to show defeat. "Just hurry up and pick your stupid character."

"But pick carefully." Amy advised him. "They all have different stats."

"Who would you recommend?"

"Not Yoshi." Terry interjected, selecting him before anyone else could. "Terry loves Yoshi. He's so adorable."

"Well, you can pick a different coloured Yoshi." Amy told Jericho. "But they fall into Light, Medium, and Heavy characters. The lower the class, the better acceleration and handling, whereas the heaver classes have better top speed and are harder to knock off, and medium is in between.

"You should pick Donkey Kong; you both look like idiots." Rosa commented snidely as she waited for him to hurry up and pick a character, hopefully before lunch ended. Footsteps suddenly filled the room making everyone but Jericho looked to the left to see Holt walking into the breakroom.

"Would you like to play, Sir?" Amy offered with everyone looking at her like she had grown a second head. Not because she had asked, but rather that it was difficult to imagine him sitting down and playing on the Nintendo by himself, let alone with them.

Holt politely declined the offer. "No thank you, Santiago." He rejected making his way round the couch and into the kitchen area. Opening the cupboard, he retrieved a cup and started making himself a hot beverage, following the instructions that Reach had shown him this morning when he first arrived. The fourth floor looking vastly more professional than it had when he had arrived over a month ago.

"Oh." Amy mumbled. Her eyes suddenly lit up when a thought occurred to her, one that was ingenious! "I just thought that it would be a good way to improve our teamwork in the workplace." She voiced as Jericho selected Mario followed by Rosa setting up the match.

Waiting for his beverage to be constructed, Holt turned to Amy. "I concede to the wisdom in your reasoning, but I currently have work that requires my attention." He explained, once more declining the offer. The machine going off, he turned and retrieved his mug. "Enjoy your game." With a small nod, he quietly left the room so that they could do exactly that.

The game loading up, Rosa looked up at Jericho. "I'm going to destroy you." She proclaimed through gritted teeth.

"Only a fool would broadcast their intentions before carrying it out, Rosalita."

"I'm just giving you a heads-up."

"Hm." Six grunted, undeterred. "The distrait has already begun; I'm already in your head."

"Like hell you are."

"And yet..."

Scowling, Rosa looked at the screen. "I'm gonna enjoy this."

"Wait!" Amy cried out. Putting her controller down, she grabbed her McFlurry from the ground and quickly had some, smiling blissfully as she savoured the sweet, sweet ice-cream that was like tasting the nectar of the gods. Placing it back down, she grabbed her controller again. "Okay, I'm ready!"

As they waited for the match to begin, the sergeant moved his body to the beat. "Terry loves this music; it's so cheery!" He said, then turned serious as the countdown began. The second that it hit one, he pressed the A button.

Seeing the button that everyone pressed, Six followed suit and watched as his chosen avatar took off. Racing around the track, he spotted several boxes and watched as Rosalita slowed down as she drove through one of them before a shell struck his avatar, sending him into a frenzy and losing control.

Glancing at him from the corner of her eye, Rosa smirked. "There's more where that came from."

"Hm." Six grunted and continued racing around the track and tried to get past Amy, her avatar being a blonde female with a bright pink dress, only to lose control and spin out when he ran over a banana peel.

Seeing Jericho look at her, Amy smiled sheepishly. "Sorry!"

"I expect such underhanded tactics from Rosalita, not you." Six told her as he regained control and raced after them and the A.I opponents; disliking that he was last. The feeling not sitting right with him. "I thought that you were a woman of integrity."

"I am!"

Out in first with Terry hot on her tail, Rosa smirked. "Is someone a sore loser?" She taunted Jericho. "Worried about losing to a woman?"

"Not at all. I have no issue losing to Amy." Six replied, only to be stuck by lighting. If it was Rosalita, he had no idea, but somehow he wouldn't have put it past the scowling-Latina who sat up straighter on the couch and gripped the gamepad tighter. Black splodges suddenly covered his screen. "What..."

"You've been inked."

"Inked?"

"Probably by the A.I." Terry commented.

Rosa smirked tauntingly. "Because you're right at the back."

In one of the booths at Shaw's, Jake felt numb as he listened to everything that had happened during the second week of his suspension. The brand-new breakroom was one thing, as was the new kitchen and vending machines...even if it broke his heart that he couldn't say goodbye to his old friend, but what left him feeling unwell,

"Mario Kart?" He repeated numbly. "You had takeout and played Mario Kart 8 at lunch, on a Wii U?"

"And demolished everyone." Rosa added, still savouring her victory over the others...but mostly that scar-faced bastard.

"I don't know if I would say demolished…."

"Demolished." Rosa expressed firmly, silencing Amy.

Snapping out of it, Jake refused to believe it. "Okay, now I know you're pulling my leg. There is no way that..." His voice trailed off when Amy whipped out her phone and slid it across the table and over to him. Spinning it around, he felt his heart shatter when looked down at the screen that showed a picture of the breakroom with the very recognizable Mario Kart being played on the screen, four-player style.

"You okay, Jake?" Charles asked, concerned for his best friend who had gone silent as Amy took her phone back. Rather than answering, Jake lowered his head onto the table and openly sobbed, not caring if he was making a scene.

Crying into the table, Jake spoke. "You hear about things like this happening all the time, but you never think it'll happen to you." He said making Amy and Rosa roll their eyes, while Charles patted his back reassuringly. "Why does stuff like this always happen to good people?"

"Why, who else has it happened too?" Amy smirked tauntingly.

Lifting his head from the table, Jake looked at Amy. "You're so mean...keep doing it!" He said making her roll her eyes at him. He then turned serious...or as serious as he could. "But on the plus side, at least I know things can't get any worse." He mumbled with a big old pout, feeling left out and really wanted, now more than ever to come back to work so that he could join in and be a part of the Mario Karting experience.

Eating fast-food and playing Mario Kart with his friends, it was like a dream come true...and he wasn't even a part of it!

"Except for the fact that you're now at the bottom of the scoreboard."

Jake glowered at Amy who was all smiles. "Which is completely unfair, and you know it! You all should have put a timeout on the bet until I got back; talk about terrible sportsmanship."

"I did say that we should postpone it, Jake."

"Thank you, Charles. See, that is what a real friend looks like." Jake said making Charles beam with pride.

Rosa scoffed at him. "Why were you suspended again?"

"...Low blow." Jake pouted at the reminder. But like he said, things couldn't get any worse than not being able to play Mario Kart with his friends...on a Wii U, on a giant TV in the new breakroom that now also had a massive comfy couch, vending machines with the drink one apparently being refrigerated, and a brand-new coffee machine that did dozens of hot drinks.

It felt like he was being punished...for something other than being a terrible secondary. Couldn't they try and convince Holt to drop the suspension and let him come back early? He had learned his lesson; he wouldn't do it again. He promised! But now he had to go another two weeks before he could come back to work...not to mention try and earn Jericho's respect again, which he determined to win back. And win it back, he would!

And cut! Here is the next chapter of The Demon of the Nine-Nine. I hope you all enjoyed this little filler which shows what Jake is missing out on during his suspension, along with the added additions that Six has made to the Breakroom and Bullpen during the first two weeks of said suspension.

Not much to say about this chapter since it was only a filler. But let me know what you all thought.
