For the second time in two days, Sakura woke up with only sheets covering her form. She squinted and turned to find herself staring at a pair of grey eyes.
"Good morning, my sleepyhead." Kakashi greeted her.
Sakura blinked, a sleepy smile forming on her lips. "Good morning to you too. What time is it?"
Kakashi glanced at the clock. "It's half past three. You can go back to sleep if you want."
Sakura stretched, feeling the soreness from the previous night's activities. "I think I need a moment to recover before I go back to sleep. You're too much, Kakashi."
Kakashi chuckled, running a hand through his silver hair. "I can't help it if you're irresistible."
Sakura rolled her eyes playfully. "Flattery won't get you out of trouble, you know."
Kakashi smirked. "Who said I'm trying to get out of trouble?"
"I think I have to rethink my choices in life." She murmured.
Kakashi chuckled. "Well, it's a bit late for that now, isn't it? You're stuck with me, troublesome as I may be."
Sakura laughed, a light, melodic sound that filled the room. "I suppose I can live with that. Being stuck with the Hokage isn't the worst fate."
Kakashi grinned, leaning in for a morning kiss. "Glad to hear it. Now, any regrets about last night?"
Sakura pretended to think for a moment, a playful glint in her eyes. "Regrets? None at all. But I'm sore. I don't think I can walk, much less stand. You will have to explain to Tsunade-shishou why I'm absent later."
Kakashi chuckled, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "I'll come up with a convincing excuse. Maybe blame it on a mission or training session gone awry. Tsunade should buy that. She knows I'm a demanding sparring partner."
Kakashi thought about all the times that he got in trouble for almost crippling his sparring partners and eventually his students during training. He usually got an earful from the previous Hokage that he should ease out on their training unless he wants the enemies to take advantage of his disastrous trainings and attack when majority of Konoha's protectors are lying in bed.
Sakura smirked. "Or you can tell her the truth and see how she reacts. It might be amusing to watch her scold the Hokage for overexerting his medic-nin girlfriend."
Kakashi raised an eyebrow. "I'd rather not become a guinea pig for Tsunade's experiments, thank you very much. I'll stick to a more diplomatic excuse."
Sakura chuckled, shifting slightly in the bed. "Fair enough." She conceded, she doesn't want to set loose an angry Tsunade to anyone. Even to her overzealous boyfriend. "I guess you're right. She might cut off some parts of you that I need. But you owe me a massage later. My muscles are going to revolt if I don't get some relief."
Kakashi grinned. "So there are parts of me that you'll miss, huh?"
Sakura playfully nudged him. "Don't let it get to your head, Kakashi. I just need those hands for healing, not for any other reason."
"Really? Just my hands?" he asked, pouting.
She rolled her eyes in his antics. Sometimes Kakashi is like a 12-year-old boy stuck in a 34-year-old body. "I'll also miss something else. But I don't need it right now. I really need a good massage."
Kakashi smiled at her and peck a kiss on her lips. "Consider it done. I'll even throw in a bonus for the inconvenience."
She narrowed her eyes at him. "What type of bonus?"
He grinned at her. Trailing a finger up and down her side. She shivered at the things that it is awakening in her. "I think you'll enjoy it."
"I am really going to rethink my choices, Kakashi. You're insatiable. You're like a rabbit, or even better, a dog in heat."
Kakashi chuckled, his grey eye crinkling with amusement. "Well, I am a ninja, and agility is part of the job description. But I promise, I'll try to contain my 'rabbit-like' tendencies."
Sakura laughed, swatting his chest playfully. "You better, or I will be forced to ban sex for a week for you."
Kakashi feigned shock, placing a hand over his heart. "A week without? That's a fate worse than any mission. I'll be on my best behavior, I promise."
Sakura smirked, giving him a skeptical look. "We'll see about that, Kakashi. Now, about that massage..."
Kakashi chuckled, pulling her closer. "Massage first, negotiations later. Deal?"
Sakura grinned. "Deal."
Sakura felt the knots in her muscles gradually loosened up. Kakashi really gives good massage. And without meaning to, she slipped into the oblivion of sleep.
Kakashi continued the soothing massage, watching as Sakura drifted off to sleep. He couldn't help but smile at the peaceful expression on her face. Carefully, he adjusted the sheets to cover her, making sure she was comfortable.
As Sakura slept soundly, Kakashi pondered the challenges that lay ahead. The elders' scrutiny, the political intricacies of being Hokage, and the delicate balance required to maintain their relationship in the public eye. Yet, in these quiet moments, he found solace in the simplicity of being with Sakura.
After ensuring Sakura was comfortable, Kakashi gently kissed her forehead, whispering a soft, "Sleep well, my love." He then quietly slipped out of the room, leaving the door ajar in case she woke up.
The village may have its expectations and judgments, but in the cocoon of their shared space, Kakashi and Sakura found a refuge from the outside world. He knew that navigating the complexities of their relationship would require effort and resilience, but for now, he reveled in the serenity of the present moment.
In the dimly lit living room, Kakashi found himself lost in thought. He considered Shikamaru's advice, the elders' concerns, and the subtle challenges that came with being both a leader and a lover. But amid the shadows of uncertainty, he felt a profound sense of determination.
With a sigh, Kakashi decided to take a moment for himself. He headed to the balcony, where the moon cast a gentle glow over the village. Leaning against the railing, he reflected on the path he had chosen. The responsibilities of leadership weighed on his shoulders, but the warmth of Sakura's presence provided a grounding force.
As the night unfolded, Kakashi allowed himself to acknowledge the intricacies of love, leadership, and the delicate dance between the two. The village slept beneath the watchful eyes of its Hokage, unaware of the complexities that unfolded in the shadows.
"Kakashi?" Sakura blinked sleepily, when her hand failed to touch the man that is supposed to be sleeping by her side. She opened her eyes fully when she realize that Kakashi wasn't beside her. She sat up, stretching her limbs and glancing around the room. The soft glow of moonlight filtered through the curtains, creating a serene atmosphere.
Curiosity and a hint of concern crept into Sakura's mind. She pulled on a nearby robe and padded silently and painfully to the living room. There, she found Kakashi leaning against the balcony railing, his grey eyes focused on the village below.
"Kakashi?" Sakura called softly, not wanting to startle him.
Because even though Kakashi is imprisoned to a desk and chair, he is still the best jonin and ANBU of Konoha. And his unmatched reflex is unparalleled. And as much as she wants to think that she can take him on, in her precarious condition, she cannot dodge a kunai that she is sure that he will throw at her if she startles him.
Kakashi turned to her, a small smile playing on his lips. "Hey, you're up. Couldn't sleep?"
Sakura approached him, wrapping her arms around herself as a cool breeze swept through the balcony. "I wanted to cuddle, and you're nowhere in sight. What are you doing here?"
Kakashi looked at Sakura, the moonlight casting a soft glow on his features. "Just needed a moment to clear my head. There's a lot going on."
"Do you want me to leave? So that the Elder's chaos will stop hounding you?" she asked.
Kakashi shook his head, reaching out to gently cup Sakura's cheek. "No, Sakura. I don't want you to leave. I want you here with me, no matter what challenges come our way. The elders may disapprove, the village may gossip, but our love is ours, and I won't let anyone take that away."
"Just tell me when I'm no longer welcome." Sakura offered him a way out. "I'll leave without a fight."
Panic etched into Kakashi's face. "Don't say that, Sakura. You're always welcome. Don't overthink. Just let me fix these problems, you don't have to trouble yourself with it."
"I'm just giving you an easy way out, just in case you need it. Just let me know anytime. I'll not going to create drama. As long as it brings you peace."
Kakashi sighed, his thumb gently stroking Sakura's cheek. "Sakura, I appreciate your concern, but I don't want an easy way out. I want you here with me because you choose to be, not because it's convenient." he declared, his voice pleading. "Just don't think about it. I'll deal with it. Okay?"
Sakura nodded and hugged herself tighter when a strong breeze suddenly blow. Her quivering figure caught Kakashi's attention, and he immediately wrapped his arms around her, providing warmth and comfort.
"Let's go back inside," Kakashi suggested, guiding Sakura back into the warmth of their shared space. Once inside, he closed the balcony door and enveloped Sakura in a reassuring embrace.
As soon as he got Sakura settled on their bed, he immediately wrapped his arms around her. "Sleep, Sakura."
Sakura nodded, finding solace in Kakashi's embrace. The challenges and uncertainties of the outside world seemed to fade away as she nestled against him. Kakashi's warmth and the rhythmic beat of his heart provided a sense of security.
"Thank you, Kakashi," she whispered, her voice soft and sincere.
Kakashi pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head. "Anytime, Sakura. We face this together, remember?"
As the night continued its quiet course, Kakashi and Sakura found comfort in each other's presence. The moonlit room held an air of tranquility, shielding them from the complexities that awaited outside their haven.
