Chapter 2 - Mushroom Kingdom Mayhem
Inside Peach's Castle, an air of festivity enveloped the halls as her loyal Toads hurried to assemble the picnic for, Mario, Luigi, and Daisy.
"Make sure the table is set properly. We want everything to be perfect for our guests," Peach instructed, her grace and poise evident even amidst the chaos.
The kitchen was a flurry of mishaps and misfortunes. Ingredients flew, pots clanged, and the occasional shout echoed through the halls. Peach attempted to supervise, but her elegant composure was tested as a cascade of flour enveloped her in a cloud, leaving her coughing and sputtering.
Just then, Mario and Luigi came in, Luigi carrying a huge pot of spaghetti.
"Peach, how have you-" Mario started before noticing all the flour. He looked around and saw all the Toads frantically running around.
"Do you need a hand?" Mario asked.
"No. The Toads can handle it," Peach said. She turned to the Toads and commanded, "Toads, can you carry the giant pot of spaghetti as well?"
"On it!" The toads declared as they took the pot from Luigi. Peach gave Mario a mean look as she was checking on everything outside.
"I think she's still mad at me," Mario whispered to Luigi.
"Mad about what?" Luigi asked.
"Our last odyssey, when Bowser and I fought to marry her," Mario answered.
"Don't worry Mario," Luigi reassured, "She'll eventually come around."
"Easy for you to say," Mario joked, "You enjoy the simpler life. A great relationship with Daisy, lots of money, and barely any extensive work."
"Hey!" Luigi yelled, "You think ghost busting isn't exhausting?"
"Not really," Mario said, "Anyways, I want to talk to Peach alone."
Luigi nodded and ran back inside the castle. Peach signaled the Toads outside to go back inside. "I just can't believe you two would go to such extraordinary lengths just to be with me."
"Well, Bowser was the one who colonized THE MOON just to host a wedding!" Mario jabbed.
"I expected better from you, Mario," Peach said, bluntly, "You never saved me for your love or gain, you saved me because it was the proper thing to do." Peach took Mario's hand. "What happened to the Mario I knew?" Peach then walked back inside the castle to check on the Toads.
Mario stood there, contemplating. Was he saving Peach for justice? Was he doing it to kick Bowser's butt again? Or was it merely for his love for Peach? To get all this off his brain, Mario decided to go out to the front and fire up the Karts.
Meanwhile, in the remote lands of Dinosaur Land, Pit found himself plummeting from the sky. With a bewildered scream, he tumbled through the air, landing with an unceremonious thud amidst a lush landscape.
Before he could get up, a cheerful and familiar figure bounded towards him. It was Yoshi, the friendly dinosaur known for his agility and loyalty.
"Are you okay?" Yoshi inquired politely.
"Yeah, just a rough landing," Pit replied, dusting himself off.
Yoshi offered a smile. "No problem! My name's Yoshi. What brings you here?"
Pit explained his predicament, recounting the strange events that had led him to this unfamiliar land. Yoshi offered to assist him in finding Mario, his best friend.
Together, they traversed Dinosaur Land, encountering friendly creatures and overcoming obstacles. Pit found Yoshi's boundless enthusiasm infectious, and the duo quickly formed an unlikely but effective team.
Meanwhile, Mario and Luigi were engaged in a friendly race through the Mushroom Kingdom. Their laughter echoed across the landscape as they dashed through familiar landscapes, their friendly rivalry on full display.
In the middle of the chaos within the castle, Daisy attempted to assist Peach. However, she ended up inadvertently adding to the culinary chaos.
"Thank you for coming all this way just for a picnic, Daisy," Peach said.
"No problem!" Daisy replied, "I love a good meal!"
"Did you bring any food?" Peach asked.
"Yup!" Daisy replied, "Luigi should've delivered it." Daisy took the food from a Toad who was carrying it. "Sarasaland has many different cultures, and with different cultures come different foods. I hope you'll like them!" Daisy cheered. "Anywho," Daisy asked, "Have you and Mario forgiven each other yet?"
Peach went silent. "Um, we are trying to." She started to cry, "Mario has always been somebody who would do something because it was the right thing, but in his last adventure, he and Bowser were fighting over marrying me!"
Daisy went over to her and comforted her, "From what I've heard, that was the first time he did that. He was probably just acting in the moment. He didn't want Bowser to outshine him." She got Peach a tissue as Daisy reassured, "Now, we have a picnic to get to!"
Meanwhile, Pit and Yoshi continued their trek through Dinosaur Land, their determination unwavering. Along the way, they encountered various obstacles, overcoming them with teamwork and perseverance. Pit couldn't shake off the feeling of urgency, knowing that time was of the essence.
After a series of adventures and encounters, their journey ushered them closer to the heart of the Mushroom Kingdom.
As Pit and Yoshi emerged from the forest, they stumbled upon a serene scene—a picturesque picnic underway with Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toadette, and Toadsworth enjoying a moment of peace.
"Oh, hey Yoshi," Mario greeted, "Who's your angel friend?"
"That's Pit!" Yoshi replied, "He said that he needed your he-"
"Will you sign my copy of Super Mario Advance 4?" Pit said, fanboying over Mario. "We met when we fought heroically against Tabuu, remember?" Pit questioned.
"Oh yeah," Mario said, "Is that all you two came here for?"
"Well, I traveled with Pit because he needs assissta-"
"WOAH!" Pit screamed hysterically, "LOOK AT ALL THIS FOOD!" Pit's mouth started watering, and eventually, Yoshi soon followed. "Is this a picnic or a 5-star restaurant?" Pit asked, licking his lips. Pit took a break from talking and sat down to eat some spaghetti. Everyone stared as Pit and Yoshi wolfed down a plate of spaghetti.
However, their peaceful gathering was shattered by the sudden appearance of Bowser, his menacing silhouette casting a foreboding shadow over the cheerful setting.
"Oh no," Pit gasped, "Not again…"
"Bowser! What do you want now?" Mario bellowed, his tone a mix of pent-up frustration and fierce determination.
"I thought you would be dead, Pit," Bowser mocked.
"Where did Bowser get all that power?" Mario asked, "I fought Bowser many times, and he's never been this strong."
Luigi stood up and said, "Well, except for that time we went to Pi'illo Island and Bowser inadvertently became a god by eating the Dream Stone."
"And unlike that time," Bowser roared, "I won't be BEATEN!"
Bowser lunged forward as he snatched Princess Peach and Daisy, his powerful claws gripping them tightly.
Pit, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi instantly sprang into action, forming a united front against the formidable foe. Mario and Luigi both showered fireballs onto Bowser, as Pit and Yoshi ran in for close combat. Pit repeatedly struck Bowser with his Palutena Bow, as Yoshi struck him with his tongue. After that, Mario and Luigi prepared for a Bros. Attack. Mario throws a bunch of fireballs into the air, and they all form a bigger fireball. Then, Luigi smacks the giant fireball with his hammer, igniting Bowser.
He drops Peach and Daisy as the Bros. go to pick them up. "Wow Luigi," Daisy teased, "Where'd you learn that from?"
"Heh heh, we've been practicing that one for a while," Luigi replied.
But Bowser, fueled by an unknown power surge, got up. Bowser slashed the ground with his claws, before unleashing a transformation. He grew in size and strength, morphing into the colossal and formidable Giga Bowser.
Everybody stared in awe at Bowser's new transformation. Peach, Daisy, and the Toads all ran inside the castle.
"Okay," Mario yelled, "WHEN WAS BOWSER THIS STRONG?!"
The climactic battle intensified as Giga Bowser's sheer force overwhelmed them. Despite their valiant attempts, Giga Bowser's might was insurmountable. Luigi jumped and whacked Giga Bowser with his hammer, to no avail. With devastating force, he incapacitated Luigi, forcibly sending him hurtling into a shadowy rift, and disappearing into the unknown.
"LUIGI!" Mario yelled.
Giga Bowser reeled his brawny arm back and forcibly struck Mario, Pit, and Yoshi with the overwhelming force of a meteor.
The remaining fighters were left dazed and disoriented, Giga Bowser seizing the opportunity to forcibly abduct Princess Peach and Daisy before vanishing into the darkness, leaving Pit, Mario, and Yoshi reeling from the fierce encounter.
As they regained their senses, Mario looked up, in confusion. "Where did Luigi go?"
"That's why I was searching for you." Pit said, "I needed your help." Mario looked over at Pit in confusion. Pit explained, "I got here because Bowser knocked me through a rift, which is probably what happened to Luigi. It worked out because I desperately needed your help to combat this potential threat."
"What threat? Is Bowser the threat?" Mario joked, "I've been kicking Bowser's butt for over 35 years!"
"Well, Bowser's not the only one with this extraordinary power," Pit added, "From my universe, Lady Palutena suspects there is some force messing with the space-time continuum. From what I can predict, that means it's not solely Bowser behind these shenanigans. It's multiple people from multiple universes."
"Okay," Mario said, "What does that have to do with that massive dark power?"
"That I don't know," Pit replied, "What I've planned is that we go across the multiverse and recruit the strongest fighters to combat whatever is going on." Mario and Yoshi nodded in response to Pit. With fierce determination in their eyes, the trio set their sights on rallying the multiverse's legendary heroes. Their quest for aid began amidst the violent chaos that had befallen the Mushroom Kingdom.
