Chapter 7
After she saw the news, Amanda called the police and then officers came to the mansion. Some police officers stood guard and watched the surrounding area. The rest of the police were watching over Amanda and Victor. "This can't be happening. You said that you got them all!" says Amanda. "Well, clearly we didn't," says a police officer. "For fuck's sake!" Amanda slammed a table in anger.
"Mommy? Is daddy going to kill us?" says Victor. Amanda wrapped her arms around Victor and said: "No, he's not. I promise." Meanwhile, a police officer is keeping watch, then he sees a box fly over the fence. After it lands in the grass, the police officer says: "Watch out! There's a suspicious package!" After scanning the box, the police decide that it's safe to open.
The police officers take the box into the mansion and place it on a table. One of them opens the box and pulls out Victor's drawing. "Wait, that's my drawing from years ago," says Victor. "Oh yeah. It's the first piece of evidence used against Randy," says a police officer. "Why steal that drawing? What's so important about it?" says Amanda. "Hold on. There's something else." The police officer reaches in the box and pulls out a tape recorder.
After pressing play on the recorder, Randy's voice says: "Hello Victor. I know what you did. You thought it would be funny, to write about daddy's work on a child's drawing? How noble of you. But, do you know what The Wolf is? You think he's your friend; but he's not. He's a liar. If you want to know the truth, go to the library. When you're there, ask yourself this: who is your favourite fearless hero?"
After listening to the recording, Victor ran into the library. "Favourite fearless hero?" What does that mean?" says a police officer. "It sounds like a riddle. Randy loves to tell riddles," says Amanda. Victor looks at the bookcase, until he sees a book written by Puss in Boots. "I got it. It's Puss in Boots," says Victor. Victor pulls the book, but it's attached to a mechanism.
Suddenly, a wall opens up and reveals a hidden staircase. "Wow, I've always wondered if there was a secret passage in this mansion," says Amanda. "Well, you two should stay here. We're gonna make sure it's safe," says a police officer. Amanda and Victor watched as two police officers walked down the hidden staircase. The two police officers reached the bottom and saw a room full of treasure.
"Ah huh, this must be how Randy started the cartel," says one police officer. "But why would Randy want his own son to find this? There must be something here," says the other police officer.
