A.N. — I wonder if anyone paid attention yesterday to a tiny detail yesterday: I posted the chapter at ff.n first, then at AO3. That has nothing to do with today's chapter, though, which features the second-in-command of the first movie's main baddie. The wiki says he's a nod to Kisuke Uruahara from Bleach; I say this character's far more one-dimensional and irredeemable.

350. Swordkil

A swordsman had to have confidence — in themselves, and the steel they held. Swordkil had this in spades. But between his quirk-given blade skills and the techniques he'd developed using them, Swordkil was had a swelled head.

The pedestal Swordkil put himself on didn't come without stress. He chain-smoked and back-talked compulsively, bragging over every little success he had. His attitude reflected none of the acutely honed edge his actions displayed. Quick to leap into a confrontation and quicker to rile, Swordkil was a lethal weapon — one he had to be mindful not to swing at himself.
