Chaos. It's a strange word. It has a few meanings, from 'complete confusion and disorder' to the formless matter that most likely existed before the creation of the universe. It also holds personal values. Some people look to chaos for adventure and excitement, while others cower it's approach. It's in chaotic moments that people's true value's shine.

In a chaotic battlefield, in a space crumbling to the void, two gigantic beings were battling. One of the great beings in the fight is just a young man. His name is Issei. His large and twisted draconic form was tearing through his enemy, but it was no one-sided battle.

Issei was slowly losing, unprepared and caught off guard when the battle began; it was tough to deal with the ambush at all. Roars emerged from between the two, tails clashing, fists crossing, and jaws chomping. The two demolished the landscape and any unfortunate life that came between them. Onlookers powerless to come between them.

If not for Issei's draining lifeforce, he could fight his enemy and come out victorious. But his life was cruel, and he was dying just as fast, if not faster than his enemy. The two fought for days without rest, each standing too tall and proud to lay down and die. After long hours, Issei's opponent finally showed a weakness he could exploit, for just a moment. In a flash of desperation at the slightest opportunity, Issei shot his fist into the chest of his enemy. His enemy did not take it for nothing, returning his own blow, shattering issei's draconic form and tearing apart his body within.

Issei's body was broken. Though his enemy's wound was fatal, he suffered the worst fate in return. His torn body fell from the sky, his blood like rain. The remaining onlookers all had a hard time believing what they were seeing. Time seemed slow, and they remained unmoving, staring in a shocked silence.

What remained of Issei hit the ground with a heavy thump. His mind returned to him from his Juggernaut form and his partner quickly peered inside. Ddraig watched as Issei's consciousness wandered through his life pass through in flashes. What passed through his mind were the mundane moments in his life. Waking up in the morning, studying, training, his walks to and from his school. And then his many first and last experiences, from his prideful moments to moments he was deeply ashamed of. The flashes eventually caught up to his recent life. The friends he had made, and joyful moments they shared. The love of his life, and the time they spent together. The people around him cheered for him and cherished him greatly. The vision began to flicker to a fateful day where the world he knew changed completely. Lying alone in a pool of his blood, a fountain before him. A voice echoed in his mind, its tone sarcastic and tormenting.

The little world in Issei's head fell apart in an instant and all that was left were the failures. All of his regrets were set upon him. Issei began to fall, quickly spiraling down in the final moments of his life. Ddraig couldn't stand to see his partner die unhappy. The dragon decided he would finally invade his partner and host's mind.

"ISSEI!" The boy's consciousness lit up in a brilliant crimson flame.

"Do not despair. You are not your failures. You have never gone on without righting your wrongs, never staying down after you you've fallen. You have lived a short life, but it was honest and true. I respect you despite all of your oddities, because you are my first partner who respected me as a dragon, and not as a tool. I wish this day had never come... Do not forget, Issei. Your friends, your family. Those who stood beside you at every moment. You are a man who loved the world for its full beauty and the populace who lives upon it. You were a king to some, and a hero to others. As you enter your final moments... Hold your head up high!"

Upon hearing this, Issei smiled. The man floated towards Ddraig and in the crimson flame and they embraced, though it lasted for far too short. In the end, Ddraig couldn't save the boy's soul, but give it a moment of respite and address its regrets. As Issei's soul began shattering, flaking away into the void littering the sky like twinkling stars, he grinned and stood tall. Watching this, Ddraig shed a tear and struggled to remain bonded to Issei, willing to enter the realm beyond with him, but was forcefully unbound from the embers of Issei's dying soul.

After a few moments, the giant beast opposing Issei fell, succumbing to its own wounds, drowning the void in its blood. Many other beings lay across the blood-filled battlefield. Michael, Azazel, and the four Demon Kings lied together, as well as a few other gods. A few of Issei's friends were scattered out as well. His love, in a last-ditch effort, used her remaining strength to crawl to him, not too far away from where she regained her consciousness. She placed his head upon her breasts, her silver hair dangling over his face. It felt strange to her, his cold face. It was always giving her warm welcomes before. She collapsed over him, her own wounds taking their toll on her body.

Seals to the little world broke, allowing the outside world to enter at last. Hundreds of dragons emerged from the void and saw the terrible sight below. Coming in last, due to sheer size, Great Red and Ophis emerged. They too saw the tragedy below them. Great Red and Ophis witnessed the fleeting souls of Ddraig and Albion leaving towards the sky and watched silently. They turned their gaze back to the field before them and then...
