It is very soon the day for the second stage of training to start. The second stage training is when I have to be careful of my divergence but I don't understand . How can my divergence expose in a training method?
"So today is your second stage of training. The second stage is weighing more than the first stage and the third one which is your final exam weighing the most among the three stages of training. So we will go for one of your fear today." Amar announces ."So the order in which you will go through is depending on your rank. Edward you can go first."
Edward stands up and walks into the room. Amar closes the door behind him. We sit in a dark hallway . We are all breathing heavily and no one ever speak
"So you guys never think that it is unfair for you guys to prepare for this all your life but we only can prepare for a few weeks?" William raises his eyebrows
"That's not entirely true . The first stage training maybe is but no one can prepare for stage two. We never allow to be in the room before ." Johnson shrugs ."So it is all new to us too."
"Yeah right." Maria rolls her eyes
One by one ， a people finish and another go in . Everytime we see a person comes out shivering， my heart jumps faster . Finally， Amar opens the door
"Celeste come on." Amar beckons to me.
I get into the room. The room is decorated exactly like in aptitude test room. A recline chair and a computer next to it. I lean against the wall.
"Are you afraid ?" Amar is cleaning up a utensil.
"I am fine . I just can't breath very well." I put my hand on my chest trying to let my heart beat slow down.
"Amar ， are you in there ?" Alan Davis's voice
Amar opens the door . Alan comes in and hands him a paper
"Max wants to see you now and I will take care of the rest." Alan smiles at him."Go."
"Thanks Alan." Amar gives the syringe to Alan .
Alan Davis comes in and I sit down . He sits beside me
"The first time is always the hardest." He brushes my hair away from my neck and wipes it with antiseptic wipe ."I will always be here with you."
"How can I end the simulation ?" I blink my eyes
"Either you calm yourself down or directly facing your fear." Alan nods at me
He injects me with the syringe . I feel a little bit pain but not too much
"The serum will go effect in a minute ." He says kindly."Be brave Celeste."
His voice is the last thing that I heard . When I wake up， I am in the fear landscape room still. Everything disappeared beside me including him. The door slowly opens and a man walks in
He is someone that I don't know . I don't even know who he is but he is wearing black dauntless uniform . He isn't someone from here
"Celeste ， I miss you so much. Since they took you away from me . I miss you so much." He comes toward me and kisses me ."You know who I am right?"
"I don't even know who you are !" I scream ."Let go of me ."
"They erased your memories Celeste ." He is crying.
He starts to bleed and I watch him fall on the floor . No one are standing behind him. I scream and I know that I have to calm down. I close my eyes and start to breath heavily . I try to calm myself down .
"Oh all right Celeste ." Alan wraps his arm around me ."You are done ."
"Am I done?" I look at him."I am sorry."
"I will have to take you back to dorm." Alan sighs ."Come on."
I shake my head . I push him away. I still can relief this
"I can't. I can't let them see me like this . I am a coward and I am failing ." I am sobbing
"Do you know how many minutes are you inside that ?" Alan points at the computer.
"Like an hour?" I say
He brushes my cheek with his finger tips .
"Two minutes ， you come out much faster than any other people including me ." Alan drags me up from the chair ."What you are ， you are not a failure ."
He brings me out of the room and closes the door behind me . Is that mean I am divergent! How can that be ? I don't understand .
"Celeste ." A voice appears behind me .
"Yes sir?" I know that is max
"Can we please talk?" Max nods at me
I know that I can't refuse him because he is the mafia boss of dauntless
"Yes sir ." I smile at him
I walk behind him and he leads me upstair to his office . His office is so huge .
"Sit down please ." Max opens the light."I am sorry to distract you now ."
"That's fine sir . I don't mind ." I sit down
"I know that you are hiding from Alan for some reasons." Max taps his fingers on the table
I don't know how to respond that. I don't know the right way
"I think that I am not perfect for him." I lower my head
"Alan is one of my favorite people in my team. I never see him that down before Celeste . I understand your concern but you have to understand that love can't wait." Max sighs . "I know that you know Linda likes him. However I can deal with that."
I know that max tells me this because he doesn't want Alan to be upset.
"Thank you sir . I will think about it. I just don't want this new to travel to far and people will discuss about him." I say
"I understand that. It's none of your concern." Max smiles a little . "Your rank isn't too bad and if you keep it up, you may climb the rank higher."
I exit his office after we finish talking. Maybe max is right. I can't wait. I can't wait any longer .
"Celeste ." Kennedy is waving at me .
"Hey Kennedy." I run toward her
"Uriah invites us for a shooting spree . Wanting to join us or not?" Kennedy nudges me with her elbow.
I nod at her . I follow Kennedy downstair to the training room. Uriah and Marlene are standing there with guns in their hands
"Good evening girls." Uriah winks at me .
"So how to play the game ." I giggle
Uriah is so cute just like a little brother . Marlene stands beside him quietly.Uriah launches into an explanation of how to play the game . He hands us a gun and some paint balls as bullets
"Let the game begin!" Uriah shouts.
We start shooting at each other . The first bullet hits Uriah on his face and he aims at me and shoot my shoulder
"Ouch, that sting." I scream. "Uriah , you are crazy."
Before I enter here , I never think that I can be this happy. When we finish, we are dirty with paint.
"Who are here?" Someone open the door
Max and Alan come in with Sam behind them. Some of dauntless leaders are among them as well
"Oh Uriah and Marlene and initiates ?" Max chuckles . "Playing paintball?"
"Yeah sir , it just a small celebration." Uriah pinches his own lips .
"Right, okay, you guys have to get back to the dorm . Uriah and Marlene , your parent will be worrying about you two so go back now ." Max shakes his head
Everyone start to leave the training room. Before I can leave , Alan stops me .
"Can I ask you something?" He looks hurt. "Who is the man kissed you in your simulation?"
"Alan, I don't even know who he is !" I say. "I lost all my memories before 16. I don't even know who are my real parent."
"I am sorry . Did that offended you?" Alan says
I shake my head . I wrap my arm around his waist.
"I think that max is right. Maybe love can't wait." I say
"He talked to you?" He kisses my forehead . "God , you finally say that."
He leans to me and kisses me . I close my eyes
"However we can't let anyone know it before I finished training." I say
"Yeah I will leave and go to the fence . I will come back for visit until you finish training." Alan is almost crying. "You don't need worried about Linda . I will deal with it."
I blink my eyes . I don't understand why he has to leave
"You can stay here Alan." I say in a low voice
"I can't stop wanting to kiss you . I have no control over you." He brushes my nose .
"Alan , shut it." I roll my eyes . "I have to go now . Good night."
He nods at me and I walk away. I am happy like a bunny.
The second day when we go to cafeteria , Alan is not there . People are talking about that he switches his working station. He really leaves the compound
"Do you know this ?" Elizabeth narrows his eyes
"Why do you think that I know it?" I am quiet over emotional .
"Seem likely that you guys are closed ." Elisa shrugs .
I shake my head . I can't tell the truth now . I stare into their eyes because Candor can detect who are lying.
"I don't know . We are just friends." I lower my head and start eating.
"What is your fears?" Jennie asks
"Sex?" I am embarrassed.
Everyone start to laugh. Intimacy pretty embarrassed for abnegation.
"Yeah kind of but I don't even know who was doing with me ." I say
"Oh really? That is really strange ." John says
"What are your fear?" I tilt my head and look at jeanine .
She doesn't say anything at all
