Alison couldn't believe he was hearing his voice again. It changed over the years, yet he still recognized him. The man who denied him his rightful opportunity, the man who abandoned their partnership and betrayed his trust over his foolish loyalty to Alei's vision. The one that dared to betray him when he needed him the most, the man Alison didn't kill when he had the chance. And now he came back to destroy him once and for all.
Suddenly, nothing else mattered. Aftons, Takalikens, and all those pests that infested his shrine paled before this opportunity. He abandoned his hunt and charged towards the machine chamber, pushing aside any torture suits he found on his way. Alison felt like a ravenous, hungry beast that was about to be completely drained if not for his chance to end Chun once and for all. It wasn't long before he barged into the machine chamber.
"CHUUUUUN!" Alison screeched before baring his claws. To his surprise, the man wasn't hiding. He simply stood by the machine, peaceful and unafraid. "Here you are!"
"Alison…" He sighed and spoke calmly. "It's been a while. Come here, don't you want to catch up?"
"Don't you dare play the stoic!" Alison shouted as he charged towards Chun. He could plunge his claws into his neck and kill him in a second, but it couldn't end like this. Not while Chun still wasn't broken, not while he still stood tall and proud. "How did you learn of this place? How did you contact Afton and all this scum?! What is your goddamn plan here?!"
"Does it really matter? We are where we are because of many decisions. No need to look to the past…"
"You think…You think you accomplished something here, don't you? That you won? Never! Afton, his kids, Takaliken…They are in my domain, and there is nothing they can do! There's only so long they can run and hide for…"
"They're stronger than you think, Alison, much stronger."
"Really, now? I managed to break every single one of them! Just like I managed to break you…"
"Then why are they still fighting?"
"As…As if it matters! Their days, their hours, and their minutes are numbered! But you…Oh, not yours." Alison grabbed Chun by the neck and pushed him towards the machine. "You, I will kill very slowly…I will tear you limb by limb, organ by organ. I will remove all of your organs, and you will suffer and scream like none of my victims have. You will try begging for mercy, but you'll be drowning in your own blood after I tear your tongue away! You will see nothing without eyes, hear nothing without ears, smell nothing without a nose…All you will feel is agony!"
"I see…" Chun said as a lone tear fell off his face, and he looked down. "I have my answers then."
"Answers to what?!"
"Goodbye, Alison." He said in a pained tone before reaching towards his belt. He had grenades, and with a single press of a button, he activated them. There wasn't enough time for Alison to do anything.
The explosion annihilated both the conveyor machine and Chun, birthing an all-consuming flame upon their ashes.
…
"I know the way to the main room."
This was Lily's promise once she helped Will get out of her resort and back into the labyrinthine halls. He was still immensely grateful to Lily for accepting a temporary alliance. It couldn't have come easy to her and required much more will than should be asked of a child. He would not fail her and keep his promise. After the end of Alison, Springtrap surrenders to her and allows her to have much-deserved justice. All he could hope for was that they'd arrive in time to stop Alison's rampage.
"Is Chris alright?" Lily asked with hope.
"He saved us all back with Alison… He's a hero, and I don't doubt that he'll never stop fighting!"
However, as they moved through the halls in desperate attempts to find Elizabeth and others, something began to feel off. William could see some change in the air before them; it became darker as if shrouded by very thin clouds.
"Is that…Smoke?" William wondered.
"Wait!" Lily said with fear and pointed at the adjacent corridor. "I…I feel him!"
Before Will could ask any questions, he heard heavy mechanical steps approaching them. There was nowhere to run but forward to a hall in which a large figure arose. It was Alison in his Fredbear carcass, alone and stumbling around, trying to regain his balance. Some of the smoke was coming from him. His hands, torso, and part of his head lost their color and became black, just like coal. Someone tried to burn him. It wasn't long before Alison raised his eyes and looked at William.
"You…What a…Wonderful bloody surprise, Mr. Afton!" He spoke with anger and hatred. "Come for your precious kids, have you?"
"Where are they?!" William demanded, barely holding himself back from jumping at the monster before him. Nothing could stop his righteous fury now.
"Don't worry, I haven't killed them again…Well, not yet, anyway." Alison said with disdain and clenched his fist. "It was HIM that brought you here, wasn't it? That little scummy freak that just couldn't leave me to my own devices…" He was, no doubt, speaking of Chun.
"You met Chun?"
"Yes…He set a trap for me and tried to blow himself, me, and the machine at the same time! He didn't destroy me, of course, but the machine…You see the smoke, don't you? It will spread around sooner or later, and your fleshing daughter won't be able to breathe for long! All because of Chun… Shouldn't have trusted him, should you? And what now?!" He looked at Lily. "Standing side by side with… Wasn't this a kid you killed, Mr. Afton? Oh, the irony! Well…We don't want to let your little bitch to choke without you being there to see it!"
"YOU BASTARD!" William shouted and rushed towards Alison, trying to push him away as strongly as possible. He felt successful for a moment. Springtrap touched Alison's torso, preparing to claw deep into his carcass, but the monster blocked the strike and pierced Will's hand.
"Is that all? Pathetic!" Alison shouted as he kicked Springtrap and forced him to the floor, which was followed by a loud, malicious chuckle.
"Fuck…You!" William rose up and attempted to strike, but Alison forced him back and stepped on him with his heavy leg.
"No, no, you aren't getting up!" Alison shouted. "Do you know how much of a thorn in my side you are? All because those piss-poor freaks lied to me about what truly happened in the last pizzeria! You thought you would just get out and have your revenge, didn't you? Never! God, Mr. Afton, I just wish you could feel pain…But I'm sure I'll find a suitable workaround!"
Alison attempted to strike again, but this time, it was Lily who jumped forward and clawed into Alison's carcass. She was too quick even for him, forcefully making Alison let go of William and take a step back.
"Get away from him!"
"Aargh…AAARGH!" Alison screeched as he grabbed Lily. "Get…Get off me, you uppity bitch! He…He killed you. You should've torn him apart a long time ago!"
"I…I know how it is to live without parents, and I'm not letting you take Elizabeth's!" She shouted and continued her onslaught for a few more seconds before Alison finally overpowered her and tossed her to the floor.
"Too bad that you'll have to see it anyway…" He raised his hand but quickly got punched by Springtrap, who stood in between them in an attempt to defeat Lily.
"Ah…Why, you…" Alison looked up. "Murderer and her victim, what a goddamn team. Don't you realize that he is just as much of a monster?"
"He is." Lily nodded. "But not as much as you." She added coldly before preparing to fight together with Springtrap. He appreciated her help more than anything, a testament to how Alison's vile nature could unite them.
"Hah…" Alison responded. "Birds of a feather. Nothing but 'family' that you think about. Tell me, Will…How does it feel to see a child's soul possessing a twisted copy of an animatronic that you once dedicated to Clara? It must be quite a ride…Hope you realize that whatever you do to me, you will never, ever see her again!"
"Shut up!" William shouted and attacked once again, causing Alison to utilize his callous strike and block it, pinning William to a nearby wall. Lily attempted to help, but Alison easily grabbed her neck with his other hand. His power was truly remarkable, even among other animatronics.
"No, you still don't understand. I am in control here!" Alison claimed with pride. "And no explosions, no attempts to taunt me and gather your 'allies' will change it! After all this time…You are mine!"
…
Gron stopped dreaming of freedom and an opportunity for vengeance years ago, yet today, a miracle happened. Just when he gave up all of his hope, someone decided to challenge Alison much like he did before, drown this grotesque place in chaos, and destroy everything Alison created. He wouldn't allow himself to miss the party.
Elizabeth led him out, and together, they rushed toward the center of the facility, preparing for a battle.
There were some malformed torture devices they had to fight on their way, but they were nothing more than just beneath Lockjaw's feet. He crushed them all, one after another, hoping that every time one of them went down, Alison would feel the pain due to their interconnection.
Elizabeth told him as much as she could during their short time together. About William becoming one with Spring Bonnie and returning to challenge Alison one last time. Of her and Charlie working together to unravel the mystery that led them down here. And, of course, she told him about what Alison had become. He never returned to his chamber since their last talk, perhaps too overtaken by the prospect of achieving his immortality. He became stronger and more unhinged, but Lockjaw wasn't afraid. No point in fear when he had nothing to lose.
"Do you know where we're going?" Lockjaw asked.
"I think I've been in this corridor before; we should be close. Also, why does it smell like…Is that smoke?"
She was right. Something seemed off about their surroundings. They grew clouded for some reason.
"Do you think one of you started a fire?"
"Eh, hopefully not…"
But before they could theorize, both of them got distracted by the furious sounds of rage and anger coming from the nearby hall, followed by a metal clash. This was a fight between animatronics.
"That must be some of ours!" Elizabeth shouted.
"Lead on…"
The two of them made their way and soon bore witness to a gruesome picture. A twisted animatronics that fit the descriptions Elizabeth gave stood by the wall, having two more in his grip. A withered golden Bonnie suit wriggling by the wall and trying to break free, and another, Ballora's sleek animatronic, which he held with a heavy hand.
"Father!" Elizabeth couldn't help but shout at the sight of Spring Bonnie, making all three turn towards them.
"Y-you…" The moment Alison saw Lockjaw, he dropped William and took a step back, unable to conceal the primal fear in his voice. Gron had to hold back not to laugh. Despite his reincarnation, the moment Alison saw the man who almost killed him a decade ago, he wavered.
"You should've told me about your 'transformation.' I would've prepared for this moment…Mr. Bairren." Lockjaw taunted him.
"No… That's impossible! You were under guard, you…You couldn't break free. How?!" Alison said with terror, making Elizabeth chuckle.
"You really needed better security." She added insult to the injury. "Now that I brought our new friend here, he can finally have his revenge. And trust me, he has a lot of anger in him. So watch, listen, and be full!" She announced with joy, making Gron realize that now was the time to finish what he started. For Lynda, for Charlie, and for every one that fell to him.
"I will tear you apart!" Gron shouted and ran towards Alison. The monster attempted to block his attack, but Ballora grabbed his hand and pulled him away, creating a moment of distraction during which Lockjaw could claw into his carcass.
"You bastards!" Alison shouted in fury, he would not go down so easily, but Gron didn't expect him to. He had twelve years' worth of hate and vengeful desire. Even Alison's new body wasn't enough to withstand it.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth rushed towards her father and helped him get up.
"Are you alright, Dad? Did he hurt you?"
"I am…I was worried about you, but I see that I wasn't the only one who had an unexpected reunion."
"Who is the other animatronic?"
"Lily…"
"You mean…"
"I'll explain later. Help us destroy him!"
"Of course!"
As William arose and prepared for a battle, Lockjaw and Lily continued to slowly weaken Alison. Piercing carcass was the easy part when his metal insides were well-protected and incredibly resilient to any kind of attack.
"You shouldn't have crawled out of your cage…" Alison said with spite. "Perhaps you could've waited this out, and I would've spared you the pain!"
"As if you'd ever miss out on the opportunity." Lockjaw laughed. "You know what's funny? That despite all the pretense you're attempting to pull…I can feel your fear. The same kind of fear you felt when you were just a weak, sickly human! Remember how you told me about your deteriorating vessel? About how it holds you back?"
"Yes…You thought I would never dare to endure the pain but look at me now!"
"Yet you are still afraid…Because you remember how I nearly killed you, how I destroyed you and brought you down! Stings, doesn't it? No matter how strong your body is, your soul is still pathetic and terrified!"
"Enough!" Alison fought back, trying to tear Loxkjaw apart, but in his battle, he became more rash and easier to predict. Lily hit his stomach and forced the monster to the floor, and only moments later, William joined the fray. Now, there are three of them against fearful Alison, whose breakdown didn't allow him to properly resist. "I will kill every single one of you, again and again! I will make you suffer! I…"
Elizabeth took a shot and got Alison's eye, making the monster recoil and pause for a moment, which William used to clash with him. Alison raised his hand and pierced William's body in a desperate attempt to hold him back, but he had to deal with another opponent. Lily clung to his hand and forced Alison down to the ground, making him shout from frustration once again.
"You…Parasites!"
Lockjaw seized the opportunity and attacked from behind, trying to tear Alison's body apart. The back's carcass proved sturdy but eventually broke. Gron tore it apart and tossed large chunks of Fredbear's cover to the floor. He saw something inside him, a part of the endoskeleton that seemed suspiciously out of place. Now unveiled without the cover. A glowing red sensor connected with the rest of his body by multiple wires. Gron wanted to strike it, too, but Alison pushed him aside with one of his legs. The moment of dominance allowed Alison to claw into Lily and throw her aside along with William, whom he forced to the floor. Moments after, he ran towards the opposite end of the corridor like wounded prey.
"I…I will end you yet! Not alone…But I will make you pay!" He shouted before disappearing behind the nearest wall. Lockjaw was about to go pursue him, but William stopped him.
"Wait! Not now…We need to find the others. If we chase him, he will lead us right into his trap!"
"Fine," Gron said with slight disappointment as he turned around. He looked into Spring Bonnie's eyes, a sight that finally allowed him to calm down. After all their fallouts and conflicts, all the ways in which they backstabbed one another, Gron felt no resentment towards his friend. They shared the same fate back when they descended into this facility, and they still share it now. "It's been a while, old friend."
…
"Oh God, our Heavenly Father…Hallowed be thy name…"
Jim's quiet prayers echoed across the enclosed room, drowned out by Charlie's occasional moans. Even though they got spared from Alison's unyielding wrath the moment he got called off by Chun, seeing Mike amputate Charlie's leg was a gut-wrenching sight. After the deed was done, Mike helped Charlie get to the nearby wall, where he took a resting position while Jim made sure to disinfect the wound. It wasn't much, and if they didn't get him into hospital in the next few hours, his condition would get worse, but it would suffice for now. Charlie breathed in silence, fighting his pain. He finally separated from the suit, even if at a horrible cost. All they could do now was to wait and slowly gather their courage. The moment they go outside, they will become targets once again.
"So…" Jim heard Mike's concerned voice behind him. "How's it been? You've grown…"
"Frantic, to say the least. I tried to find meaning after all that happened to us, turned to religion and charity…But there was always something that was missing. You know, some kind of answer. At least now that I know everything, it's… It's freeing, in a way." Jim confessed as his voice broke. "Did you spend all those years here, Mike? Did he torture you?"
"It was like a nightmare…I thought I'd never wake up." Mike said quietly. "We got so close when we were down here, I thought that this would be the end of it all, but…"
Before he could finish, they heard a loud banging sound. Something incredibly strong pushed the door before them with a hit so powerful that it made the metal bend. Jim felt his heart skip a bit as he realized that they were no longer alone.
"W-What's that?" Chris said fearfully.
"They're back…" Charlie responded, preparing for the worst.
Moments later, the situation got even worse. A giant black claw pierced the door and created a giant hole through which it tried to reach out for its prey.
"Oh god!" Chris jumped back in fear as the quarter stayed to watch as the monster on the other side slowly made its way through the door. Jim could see fragments of its appearance. A giant yellow bunny animatronic with ravenous eyes, it was the one he had seen along with Chris and Chun earlier, the one bigger than even Alison himself.
"Fuck…" Mike said.
"What are we going to do?" Chris wondered just before his brother gazed at their side. There was another door that they could open from the inside by breaking a panel nearby.
"We can go to that corridor and try to get away," Mike suggested, but Jim wasn't sure whether he liked this idea.
"But we will just open ourselves up to more of those monsters. It's suicide!"
"And staying here isn't? Look at this freak. It will break that fucking door and very quickly! At least we still have some time if we run."
"And what about Charlie?" Chris said with fear.
"I'll carry him once we check the path," Mike said confidently.
"T…Thank you." Detective sighed with relief. "Wish I had a gun with me so I'm not bloody useless." He couldn't hold back his shame.
"It's alright," Jim reassured him. "After what you've been through, you deserve a break."
"Not until we're done here, though…"
Soon after those words, Jim heard something else. A clanking sound coming from the walls, slowly pushing through. A methodical crawl, and judging by it becoming louder, whatever was inside the walls came closer. Jim frantically looked around the room only to realize that it had a vent that led directly to their position.
"Something is coming…" Charlie said as all of them realized that their time was extremely limited. Perhaps Mike was right, and the best they could do was to run.
"Are you ready to make a break for it?" Mike asked the other three and soon saw them nod. "Good…Chris, Jim, break that panel, and I'll take Charlie." He commanded and made his way towards the broken detective. They barely had any time before there would be nothing remaining between them and the animatronics and, therefore, had to take this risk. Jim covered Chris as he broke the panel and opened the way…Only to discover that it was a ruse.
There was another animatronic standing in the hall, a slim black bunny that vaguely reminded Jim of Bonnie yet had a darker color scheme. It stood on the opposite side in silence, like a predator waiting for its prey to make a wrong move, and now they played right into his hands.
"Damn it!" Jim shouted and pulled out his weapon, trying to take a shot at the bunny's eyes. Alas, his hands shook too much and made him miss the opportunity, instead striking the animatronic's carcass, which didn't damage it at all but instead invigorated the creature. It jumped at its closest opponent, who happened to be Chris, grabbing his metal and pulling him closer.
"No!" Chris attempted to resist and scratched the bunny's paw, trying to damage the wires beneath its carcass. The moment he clawed through its hand, Jim was able to see a glimpse of rotten flesh within this bunny, which made the sight even more mortifying.
"Hold on, I'm coming!" Mike rushed towards Chris to aid his brother, but he was stopped prematurely. The third animatronic jumped out of the go, this one reminding Jim of a rabid wolf both in appearance and behavior. It immediately clawed into Mike's body and forced him to the floor. Mike resisted; he raised his hook and tried to pierce his opponent with it, but he wasn't quick enough. The monstrous torture animatronic continued attacking him in rage, making Jim realize that he had to help.
He took his shot as precisely as he could and got to damage the wolf's metal neck. The animatronic had electric currents overtake his body and give Mike an opportunity to pierce his hand with Foxy's hook, swiftly tearing it off and drenching his hand in remnants of rotten flesh. Mike stood victorious as the new assailant fell as quickly as he attacked, but this was far from the end of their problems.
The black bunny overpowered Chris and pushed him back right towards Charlie, making the boy hit the wall and fall to his knees. Mike tried to walk, but his body was damaged due to the wolf's previous strikes. He wasn't ready to continue yet.
Worse yet, the strongest animatronic finished its breakthrough. It tore through the door and emerged in its full, horrifying 'glory.' Two bunny-like torture suits surrounded the four weakened victims; predators were preparing for their feast.
"W-What do we do now?" Chris shouted with horror.
"We…We fight back!" Mike shouted triumphantly and rushed towards the yellow rabbit in a desperate attempt to strike it down. It failed, of course; the beast simply pushed him back without holding him back. The strike was so powerful that Jim could hear one of Mike's hands breaking as he had no choice but to recoil. They were in great trouble, and no prayers could save them now. Jim closed his eyes as he felt that he was about to leave this world…Or perhaps worse yet, be forced to become one of those monsters and feel what both Mike and Chris felt before. Perhaps it was what he deserved after the death that he caused, yet at this moment, he wanted nothing more than to live to see the sunrise once again.
But then, he heard another crack, which made the priest open his eyes once again. There was another silhouette emerging behind the yellow beast, a sturdy hand that pierced it from behind and tore one of its arms apart.
Their aid was here.
William Afton was in the hall along with Elizabeth and two other animatronics whom Jim did not recognize, and they were here to fight. Will and Ballora ran past the beast towards the black bunny, the weaker of the two. The tortured animatronic tried to resist, but Will forced him towards the nearest wall, immobilizing the creature and giving Ballora just enough time to pierce its carcass and swiftly tear its endoskeleton apart from inside, immediately putting the monster out of commission.
Now, only the one-handed beast remained, and it had no chance against all of them. A tall, withered animatronic in a fedora held the monster back by plunging its hands into the enemy's back. He needed aid to finish the monster off. Jim took a shot at the beast's head to further disorient it while Chris slithered towards its remaining arm and plunged his limbs into it, tearing it apart only moments later. Mike joined, too, using his hook to tear the animatronic's torso apart as it was powerless to resist. Eventually, the three finally brought the beast down by completely squashing its body underneath their shared pressure.
They were safe…Finally, the eight of them in the same room were unlikely allies that must have suffered from the same tragedy. Jim had many questions he wanted to ask, but this wasn't the time yet…He was just glad that they survived.
"Everyone alright?" William asked.
"You're just in time." Jim smiled. "And who's…"
"C-Charlie?" Elizabeth's lips quivered as she saw him lying by the wall. "Charlie!" She said with horror and rushed towards him, unable to take her eyes off the wound that he had in place of his leg. "Oh my god…"
"Liz…" Charlie said with a relieved smile. "I'm glad you're alright."
"Not me you should be worried about! God, your leg, I…" She shouted, and a tear fell down her eye.
"Please, no need," Charlie said before gently holding her hand. "I knew that was it the moment that fucker released the springlocks…It wasn't as painful as it could've been. Your brother made it quick."
"Chris?"
"Mike."
"Mike?" Elizabeth said with disbelief, propping Foxy to take a step forward.
"Hello, Liz…" He said, making her turn around and stare at him with her eyes wide open.
"Mike? Is that…"
"Yeah. Sorry, I didn't come back as I promised, but…I missed you."
Elizabeth rushed toward torture Foxy and gave him a tight hug, which caught him by surprise, yet Jim knew that this was exactly what Mike needed after all those years of isolation and torture.
"I missed you, too!"
Jim looked around him, realizing that this was more than just them all gathering in one room, gaining a moment of reprieve. It was a reunion delayed by a decade, the one that all of them desperately yearned for over all those years.
"Chris?" Ballora slid towards Ennard.
"Who…Who are…"
"It's me, Lily. Your dad freed me!" The animatronic explained, making Chris freeze on the spot for a moment. "We can finally talk…It feels so good!"
"Lily…I…I should've come back sooner. I should've helped you get away from Kitty."
"It's not your fault," Lily reassured him. "I'm just happy you're here… I've been thinking a lot about you. I didn't think we would meet like this, but…I like it." She said in a warm tone before offering Chris an embrace. Even though both of them were animatronics and couldn't share warmth, Jim knew that the song their souls sing to each other would be more than enough. He felt as if he was standing amidst a purgatory where souls got one final chance to speak with their friends and family before finally departing to the other side. They all walked a long and painful path…Jim hoped that they would be able to find rest in the afterlife.
"Hello, Mike," William called out to his son, distracting him from Elizabeth.
"Father? Huh…You look a little older."
"I don't deserve your forgiveness, but you deserve to hear it, Mike… I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"For pushing you away and getting violent with you, if only I was more understanding, it wouldn't have happened…I wouldn't have lost you."
"I would've found a way down there eventually," Mike said. "Though it did hurt…And it still hurts."
"I wish I could change it…Wish I could change so much. Never even walk through this goddamn door. "
"Let's just deal with the problem at our hands, shall we?"
"Yes… You're right." William collected himself. "Chun started a fire after trying to destroy Alison; this whole place will be engulfed if it isn't stopped in time."
"And Alison?"
"He's wounded, but he's still out there…Something tells it won't be long before he returns."
Finally, Jim turned towards the mysterious animatronic in a fedora who stood before Charlie. Both of them stared into each other's eyes in complete silence, at least for a moment, and then the detective finally spoke.
"Father…"
