Chapter 28- The "Failed Creation" True Purpose?

Surge places her head down for a split minute, silently listening to what Starline said. Till, she steadily raises her face upwards, smirking and blurts out. "Thanks Starline…Now I have more than enough reason to eliminate you from the face of the Earth!

Surge uses a quick electrical discharge attack, but Starline warps himself away from the attack. Surge proceeds to spin wildly, to increase the power of the electricity she generates, and surrounds herself with an aura of electricity. The amount of electricity emanated from Surge, somewhat shocks Starline and delivers a series of punches that sends him sliding backwards.

She then sends a blast of electricity that explodes upon contact, as Starline goes on rambling. "You, Surge was based over a Thunder God from one of the ancient statues at the south of Chun-nan. But, from the very beginning, you were always doomed to be a failure and I was just too naive to realise back then."

Instantly following this, Suge threw a heavy right hook which connected with Starline's face leaving him flattened upon the ground. Over the course of her time spent with the Resistance and training with Mighty, she has learnt to increase the speed of the electrical signals to her brain, which enhances her both her reflexes and reaction time. Surge sends a current of electricity at point-blank range, Starline is revealed to be undamaged from this exhibiting a pristine aura comprised of multiple colours.

Starline switches his Warp Topaz with the Tricore, a combination of different Power Cores that gives him a dramatic increase in terms of speed, strength and agility in order to make up for his physical shortcomings. Surge is blown away with Starline's radiating aura, as the platypus start off round 2 of their feud.

With perfect balance and usage of each enhancement the Tricore gives him at a time, Starline immediately gains the upper hand. Surge falls back and fires a blast of concentrated electricity directly at him. Unconcerned, Starline retaliates with the Tricore Blast which is when harnessing all three types of powers at the same time for a giant, blue energy blast with swirls of red and yellow energy.

Having been inflicted heavy damage, Surge survived the blast with an electrical force field to protect herself at the last second.

Starline unemotionally strolls to Surge, utterly disappointed at her. "Once a failure will always be a failure, Surge. The world Infinite will create doesn't need failure like you, He will bring in a new era teeming with absolute perfection where inequalities and rejection are nothing more than concepts of the past…isn't that what you heroes yearn for?"

Surge spits out some blood from her mouth, entirely vexed just by looking at Starline's face. "...I am so sick of your damn speeches!

Surge powers up her electrical aura to maximum capacity and releases it continuously in the form of lightning bolts, with the destructive capacity to destroy anything near her proximity in an instant.

Starline dodges them using his blue and yellow Power Cores back to back, for a boost in his speed and agility. "A direct hit by those would be fatal…if they hit me that is"

Surge then closes the distance between her and Starline, and fires off her new Ultimate Move, Electric Shockwave, a massive spiralling high voltage energy wave. Surge's point-blank attack is so powerful, it reverberates throughout the Gaia Temple, being felt by both those inside and outside. Sadly, Starline has only been injured off the right side of his face by using the red Power Core to raise his durability.

Starline grabs Surge's right arm, crushing it in the process. He then reels his fist into her stomach with full force, sending her flying backwards into the ground. Starline finishes her off with another Tricore Blast. When all the smoke clears, Mighty with his hardened shell protects Surge.

Starline laughs at Mighty for protecting Surge, "Why go out your way to protect a failure like her?

Despite Surge's near-broken state, Mighty tries to boost her spirits. "Cmon, Surge! This fight has just begun, we can still wi…"

Surge mumbles audible for Mighty to hear, with her sombre pitch representing her shattered resolve. "I…I can't…It's over…I…am…nothing…more…than…a…failure."

Enamoured by Surge's sorrow, Starline snickers at seeing Surge at her lowest and goes to end her. "HAHAHA! You're Right, Surge!"

Mighty instead takes the punch, Starline for a minute falls back before following up his initial punch with a flurry of them ending in a headbutt. While doing so, Starline kept on laughing like a maniac. After a bit of waiting, Mighty looks back at Starline with a look of pure anger having already activated his Full Armoured Released state and delivers a powerful kick that sends his adversary crashing into the ground. The impact ricochets Starline towards a couple of stone pillars.

In order to reignite the flame of Surge's resolve, Mighty offers some words of consolidation. "Only ourselves can create our own purpose for living, no one else. Whether it is something as minor as going on numerous adventures with your friends or something major like joining the national defence force to fight for your country's freedom. The possibilities of finding our purpose in this world are endless, but only we can find it."

Mighty charges ahead to face Starline, Kit comes in to soothe the broken Surge using his hydrokinesis to place droplets of water into Surge's wound to slowly heal them. "Mighty is right, Surge! Please don't give into despair! We need you!…...I need you!"

Back with Mighty, the armadillo lands a heavy elbow strike on Starline who was in the midst of getting back up on his feet. "You're going to pay dearly for what you had done, whoever attacks my friend either physically or mentally would experience a pain like no other!"

Starline holds his fist in a tight grasp and ferociously attacks Mighty out of rage. "Now, you've done it!"

Mighty proceeds to parry, block and deflect all of Starline's attack, trying to get under Starline's skin by telling him what he thinks is his true motive behind it all. "You didn't want to control the "hero-versus-villain" dynamic from behind the scenes…you just wanted some sense of authority and used the other as a front. That is why you experimented on Surge and Kit, you saw them as nothing more than your creations giving you an idea of having power over them and enforcing obedience."

Starline seems aggravated by Mighty's words, as such an accusation actually manages to get through to him. "SHUT IT!"

Then, Starline sees the injured Surge having gotten up, and is marching in their direction. "Mighty...we're winning this, right?"

Mighty turns around in shock at first but smirks soon after. "Yea!"

Surge has spun herself back to the fare, after hearing Mighty's encouraging words and Kit's desperate pleas. Find out in the next chapter, what happens.
