2 Months Later

Location: Coruscant

Aurora's POV

"Ow!" I groaned. "It feels like you are injecting my skull with poison."

"I'm sorry Your Highness, the crown is difficult to work with." Rehana explained as she fixed my hair to try and allow for my crown to attach to my head.

My hair was pulled back into a bun, and Rehana was having difficulty attaching the spiked headpiece to my bun. I glanced over to my brother who was explaining to Osric, one of our guards, how long we would be at the party this evening. Tonight was the annual Senate Charity Ball. Senators, diplomats, and monarchs from around the galaxy flocked to the Senate ballroom once a year to listen to Palpatine talk about how much he loves the Senate. In other words, this evening was going to be long, and filled of morons. Yay.

Growing up, I remember countless times that my mother had to attend this stupid event. Though, thinking back on it, she most likely hated it as well, as firstly she wasn't a big fan of Palpatine, and second, she wasn't that big of a Senate fan either. 2 months have passed since it happened, and while I'm talking again, I'm not the same as I use to be…at least to Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan. To my brother and Zara however, I haven't changed…probably because I was raised with them. I still haven't told my brother about the chip, but honestly when have we had time to talk really.
I sighed in my chair as Rehana attached the last bit of my spiked headpiece that went around my bun. It wasn't a crown, or a headdress, but it still made me feel that I still had my royal status. I sighed as I watched Zara begin to pace back and forth. She was already dressed so it was rather amusing to watch her fight with her gown as she paced the room. Her gown was beautiful. It was almost see-through at the top, with almost a nude color portion, that eventually faded into a very dark version of our Clan's color blue. One shoulder had a sleeve that faded from the nude-beaded fabric into the dark blue beaded fabric. It screamed Zara. (A/N: If you need help visualizing the dress Zara is wearing, look up Gigi Hadid's 2018 Met Gala Dress).

"You look great." I say with a smile glancing over my shoulder at her.

She shrugged. "I guess."

"Don't say that." I said with a shake of my head as Rehana placed the few hanging curly strands of my hair along the side of my face. "You look amazing. Did Desislava make your gown as well?"

Zara nodded. "Ro, she's the only one who makes our gowns."

"True." I nodded, as Rehana placed emerald earrings in my ears.

Desislava, was our dress/gown maker for big fancy events, and has been since Zara, Korkie, and me were children. Over the years, she's adapted her designs to fit each of our individual styles. Honestly, based upon how incredible Zara looks, and how mature my brother looks (wearing traditional Mandalorian Royal garments I might add), Desislava, is a true descendant from the Gods, and we wouldn't know how we would look without her.

Once Rehana finished my makeup, she walked over to a clothing bag that was draped over the couch in my mother's Senate apartment's living room and brought it over to where we all were. She hung it on the clothing rack and began to unzip the bag revealing a burgundy red dress that was coated in gold jewels, that from where I was sitting, I could tell it was going to be tight fitted.
"Holy shit." I said in disbelief as I got up out of my chair and walked over to it.

"I said the same thing to Desislava, but she said that you would look great in it. She said something about some things need to stay the same in times like these, or something along that matter, as it will be your first public appearance since…you know." Rehana explained.

I nodded, and she was right. It was going to be my first public appearance since my mother died. Since she died, I've been spending my days in the Jedi Temple, trying to understand my powers, and trying to learn how to handle them based upon how strong or how week they were. Windu's been trying to help me control my 'darkside' abilities, and so far, the goal was to not lash out in combat…which for me was a challenge.

Rehana and I walked into the changing room, and she began to help me slide on the dress. As we pulled the dress on, I was practically drowning in the layers upon layers of this gown, as it didn't seem to end. Once the dress was finally on, I began to flatten out the skirt the best that I could to make sure that it fit me both properly and completely. That's the last thing I need. The dress ripping when I get to the Senate, as I would go up the stairs, or me tripping on it and falling flat on my face. Looking down at the dress, I noticed that there was a huge train that almost went on for years. And when I glanced at the puddle of red fabric again, I noticed that there were two see-through panels on the front of the dress that showed off my legs, and in the back of the main dress, there was a slit to make it easy for me to walk, however there was still a huge skirt/train attached to the main portion of the dress.

Rehana made me step onto the platform that was surrounded by mirrors, that allowed for any last adjustments. Rehana instructed me to pick up one foot as she placed a simple gold heal with a height that I knew I would get pain from later this evening. Once the other shoe was on, she instructed me to turn around to look at myself in the mirror. Once I did, I almost fell off the podium…I didn't recognize myself.

The dress had a jeweled bodice, which after pestering Rehana, took Desislava over 600 hours to make. The bodice was mainly gold and emeralds that then flowed into the large red skirt with gold designs. The skirt was so large that it would flow behind me when I walked. It was stunning. The crown was incredible. The jewelry was incredible. The dress was incredible. I…I…I was incredible. (A/N: If you need help visualizing the dress Aurora is wearing, look up Blake Lively's 2018 Met Gala dress.)

"This dress is…amazing." I said looking over myself in the mirror.

"Desislava said she made this for your Coronation…and since we don't know when it will happen, there is no time like the present." Rehana said with a smile as she helped me off the platform. "You look…so regal…more regal than you've ever been."

I smiled. "Thank you, Rehana, for everything."

She simply nodded and curtseyed to me before escorting me back to the living room. Upon entering the living room, I was met by both my brother and Zara who were in shock at my gown. Both marveled at how intricate it was, and how well Desislava made it. She truly was a fashion god. Within a matter of moments, and after Rehana gave us a few final touches, the three of us, and a couple of guards were ushered into a speeder and whisked off to the Senate.

I began to twiddle my thumbs in nervousness.
"You're going to be fine." Korkie began from his position across from me, placing a hand on my knee to stop twitching.

Zara put a hand on his shoulder, as she was sitting next to him, and grabbed my right hand. "We are all going to be fine."

"I get it." I explained quietly.

"You get what?" Korkie asked in confusion.

"Why Desislava chose red for me, while you both are wearing blue." I explained.

"Why?" Both asked in confusion.

"Blue is the symbol of our Clan, it means reliability. Red shows the indication of honoring a parent…I'm honoring Mother." I explained holding back the tears. "Rehana told me that Desislava made this dress for my coronation…and since I may never have a coronation, there is no time like the present."

Korkie grabbed my left hand, and he also grabbed Zara's right hand, making a circle between the three of us.

"She's here with us, and I know, she'd be proud that we've all stuck together." Korkie explaned making me smile.

"She might've not been my mother, but I've always looked to her as my own mother, and you are both my siblings." Zara explained before turning to me. "And even though you have no coronation, no Darksaber, you are still the head of the Clan."

I looked her in the eyes in disbelief.

She nodded. "You are the Grand Duchess of Clan Kryze."

I sighed before glancing out the window. "You two better not curtsey or bow to me."

Both laughed at me, and I gave them both a small smirk as the Speeder pulled up in front of the Senate. Lining both sides of the stairs were journalists taking pictures of the various high-profile individuals who have come to this stupid event.

I took a deep breath.

"You got this Ro." Korkie said as he got out of the speeder, and the journalist's cameras went off like crazy.

"Knock 'em dead." Zara said with a smirk as she too got out of the speeder and began to walk up the stairs.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before gesturing to the guard in the speeder to open the door allowing for me to get out.

"I got this." I murmered as I slid out of the speeder.

As soon as I was visible to all the HoloNet journalists, the shouting, cameras flashing, lights, and eyes, were all on me. I gave them all a small smile as I began to ascend the stairs of the Senate. They were all shouting various things as well.

'Princess Aurora, is it true you were hospitalized?'

'Princess Aurora, will you unite the people of Mandalore?'

'Princess, look this way please!'

'Are you mentally well, Your Highness?'

'Have you been to Mandalore since your mother's death Your Highness?'

I ignored them and continued to ascend the stairs. At the top, Zara and Korkie were both smiling at me, knowing I was knocking all the journalists dead. Zara gestured for me to pose for the cameras, and after a small unnoticed eyeroll, I obliged, putting on my best million credit smile, and faked every minute.

Third Person's POV

"She's killing it." Zara murmured to Korkie as they watched Aurora be civil with the cameras and for the first time, act like a TRUE royal.

"Agreed. I've never seen her so…confident in these matters." Korkie explained to his cousin.

"If Alex was here, he'd be on his knees in submission, worshiping the ground she walked on." Zara said with a laugh.

"As if he doesn't now." Korkie nodded laughing along with his cousin, just as his sister reached the top of the stairs.

Aurora's POV

"What are you both laughing at?" I ask with a small smirk.

"Nothing." They both replied quickly making me roll my eyes in annoyance and amusement.

Our guards gestured towards the door, and we walked into the Senate ballroom. Upon entering all eyes were on us. I smirked to myself. Yeah, we all looked good. I walked in front of Zara and Korkie who were both looking at me with pride as we all walked in. Eventually, all the eyes turned away from us, and we could finally get some peace and quiet.

"You seem nervous, are you alright?" I ask Korkie as the three of us stood off to the side.

He shrugged. "It's a lot to get used to, but I'll be ok."

I smiled. "You'll be alright."

Korkie nodded and was about to reply, before pointing behind me. "Is that Barron Zelle?"

I turned my head around and glanced over my shoulder to see a tall, dirty blonde short-haired man, about 3-4 years younger than me. It was 100% Barron.

I nodded. "Yeah, that's Barron."

Korkie smirked. "Barron!"

The man turned around with glistening green eyes, smiled brightly and came walking towards us.

"Oh fuck, he's coming over here." Zara began in annoyance.

"I forgot you two hate each other." Korkie said with regret.

"Don't be regretful Korkaran, this is payback for all the times Zara has ridden my ass for me not following protocol." I said with a smirk.

"I hate you Ro!" She quietly scolded as Barron approached us, making me turn around.

"Barron!" I said with a smile as we pulled each other in for a hug.

Barron Zelle, the son of a Senator from Hosnian Prime, was one of my closest friends. His father was also one of my mother's closest friends, so he was around a lot when we all were kids. He got along super well with Me and Korkie, but with Zara…they hated each other's guts. Why? I don't know, but it was hysterical to watch them argue with each other.

"Ro, Korkie, it is so great to see you" Barron began as he hugged both Korkie and I. His smile immediately turned into a frown upon seeing Zara.

"Hello Zara." He said in disgust.

"Zelle." Zara replied in the same tone, not even bothering to address him by Barron.

I smiled at the group in amusement. "I'm going to go get a drink."

I immediately walked away from the three of them, knowing an argument was going to break out between Zara and Barron, and I didn't want to witness it. Actually, I did, but I needed some form of alcohol in my system first so I could enjoy it. I walked over to the bar, and ordered myself a drink before I was interrupted.

"Princess Aurora." A familiar voice said.

I immediately turned around to see the former Queen of Naboo, Padme Amidala standing behind me.

"Senator Amidala." I said warmly. "It is good to see you."

She smiled. "It is good to see you as well. I wanted to send you my regards about your mother. I am terribly sorry for your loss."

I nodded. "Thank you, I appreciate it. My cousins and I miss her every day."

She sighed. "I can't imagine how hard it is for you all. Please, if you need anything, let me know. Satine was one of my closest friends. I hate to think of the fact that you are left without some Senatorial guidance."

I quickly glanced over to my brother, who was holding back Zara from slapping Barron, who had a smug look of amusement, in the face.

"We need all the help we can get." I reply before turning back to Padme. "Thank you, Padme. If you ever need anything, please let me know."

She smiled before giving me a small curtsey before walking away. Just as I was about to walk back to my brother, Zara, and Barron, Palpating made his grand entrance. I immediately started to chug my drink. I hated that man with a dying passion.

"Senators, Monarchs, and Diplomats, I welcome you all to the annual Senate Charity Ball." Palpatine annoyance drawing applause from everyone except me who gave an eyeroll. "I am pleased to announce that we have raised over our quota for the year and have successfully donated over 2 million credits to the Children's Orphanage of Coruscant."

That sentence got a round of applause from me. I loved helping the poor on Mandalore, and every chance I get, I help the poor.

"Please enjoy the rest of the evening and thank you for your donations." Palpatine finished, before music began to play.

Just as I was to go and walk over to my cousins, my commlink, which was strapped to my wrist, but disguised as a bracelet to go with my dress began to go off. S.O.S, it beeped quietly in Morse Code, before beeping the location of the Jedi Temple. I sighed in annoyance before I quickly walked over to Zara, and my brother, explained the situation, before excusing myself from the party. Just as I was about to descend the stairs and get into a speeder, I was stopped by a voice.

"Princess Aurora, leaving so soon?" Palpatine asked making me turn around with the fakest smile I've ever put on my face.

"I'm not feeling the greatest." I lied. "I've been sick with the flu the last few days."

"Such a shame, on your first outing since your mother died." He began. "Feel better."

I smiled and nodded before rushing down the stairs. He knew I was lying, and I knew he knew I was lying. I didn't really care. Once I was in the speeder, I instructed the driver on where to go, and within a matter of minutes, we arrived at the Jedi Temple. I immediately broke out into a run, holding up part of my skirt so I wouldn't trip over it. I can't believe I'm doing this in heels, and I haven't fallen flat on my face…yet. I continued to run as fast as I could down various hallways, corridors, and walkways through the temple, before stumbling across Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka.

"What's wrong." I asked as I ran up to them.
"Holy shit." Ahsoka said in disbelief.

"Language." All three of us replied.

"Sorry, I just…I've never seen you so…royal like." She explained in awe.

"You've seen her on the HoloNet." Anakin explained.

"This is in person." Ahsoka said with a smile gesturing for me to do a 360. I rolled my eyes and obliged as I turned around. "Incredible."

I smiled. "Thank you. This was supposed to be my coronation dress. Now, why did you call me from the Senate Charity Ball?"

Obi-Wan sighed. "There has been a bombing, in one of the hangers of the Jedi Temple. Master Yoda wants you four to investigate."

"Four? There's only three of us?" I ask in confusion.

"Sorry I'm late!" I heard Alex's voice say as he ran up to us. "I was caught delivering a ton of Spice to Nal Hutta, I obviously got out of it, hence I wouldn't be here if I didn't."
I rolled my eyes. "Obviously."

His eyes practically popped out of his head when he saw me. "Why are you…"

"It's a long story." I explained before turning back to Obi-Wan. "Does Yoda want to speak with us?"

Obi-Wan nodded before gesturing to the Jedi High Council Room, meaning, that the four of us were going to be practically on trial for instructions on how to conduct this investigation. For some reason, I got a sick feeling to my stomach, just thinking about it.

Barron Zelle is going to be featured more in the future along with his relationship with Zara. His faceclaim is Sam Claflin.
