Chapter 8 - The Scarab
Feeling beside himself, Takeshi thinks constantly on how Nakazato's R32 beat him. Even after the love tap didn't seem like it had any effect. All the trash talking blew up in his face as everyone saw him spinning out. In his thoughts, "Maybe I can add a super charger to even up the field?. No…who am I kidding, taking on a whale with a toothpick?! - Takeshi says out of frustration. To calm his nerves, he turns on the tv to catch the latest races on Tsukuba circuit.
He notices a red 350z and his eyes opens as it turns out to be his icon, Ryuji Ikeda - creator of his zero theory. Facing a heavy line up, Ryuji took on the field like it was a walk in the park. Passing 911s with such finesse; looking as if they were moving slowly. Takeshi smiles as he watches Ryuji racing. Making short work of his opponents, as though the 4 laps ended in an instant. Ryuji's red Z moves with the grace of a paint brush to a master artist. Takeshi did not blink for a second as this level of skill captivates him.
Takeshi realizes that the 86 can turnout to be a good contender but it will fall short to its limits, being older and adding a turbo will only hasten those limits. The only next best bet was a new car. One that can take on both the touge and the aqauline. Takeshi sets his sights on the Nissan Z33!
