Chapter 6

The night was long. Aziraphale had managed to sleep for a long while, but still suffered from some nightmares. Crowley was quick to soothe him and show him he was safe. Crowley was thankful that there were no hallucinations this time around. It was a long tiring process still. Everytime Crowley thought Aziraphale was calming down, the nightmare would ramp up again. When Aziraphale finally settled Crowley was exhausted himself. He used the time Aziraphale was out to try and heal some of the Hellfire wounds. With the infection it proved to be a bit more difficult. Crowley had finally passed out next to Aziraphale in the early morning.

The midday sun peeked through the curtains when Crowley woke up. Opening his eyes he allowed a small smile to dance upon his face as he saw Aziraphale's blue eyes clearly staring back at him.

"How long have you been awake?" he whispered.

"A couple hours." Aziraphale mumbled.

"You should have woken me." Crowley insisted.

"You looked peaceful. And tired, I wanted to let you sleep."

"How are you feeling?" Crowley asked as he reached out and cupped the back of Aziraphale's neck his thumb brushing against his cheek.

"Better, still a bit weak I think." Aziraphale whispered.

"Thats to be expected. Rest and some food will help." Crowley instructed.

"Biscuits and tea sound lovely. I have missed them so much."

"Tea and biscuits coming up." Crowley smiled.

Crowley placed a gentle kiss to the Angel's forehead before he got up and left the bedroom heading for the kitchen. He could have miracled them to the bed, but he was still feeling a bit run down himself. It would give him time to clean up the front room. He put the kettle on the stove and went about cleaning things and putting the couch back where it belonged. The kettle whistled and Crowley went back into the kitchen to pour the tea and place it on a tray. He did end up having to miracle a plate of biscuits due to not having any in his flat. He made a mental note to go to the store later. Carefully carrying the tray back into the bedroom he saw that Aziraphale had managed to sit up against the headboard but was having trouble getting the pillows to sit comfortably behind him. Crowley set the tray on his dresser and went over to him.

"Here let me."

Aziraphale leaned forward and Crowley fluffed the pillows behind him and smoothed the blanket over his chest as Aziraphale leaned back against the pillows.

"Thank you my dear. Its much more comfortable to sit up." Aziraphale mused.

Crowley brought the tray over and sat it on the bed over Aziraphale. Aziraphale smiled as he picked up the tea cup and took a small sip. He hummed delightly as it warmed him. Crowley sat on the other side of the bed and watched quietly as his Angel ate.

"That was delicious my dear. Thank you." Aziraphale hummed.

Crowley miracled the tray back to the kitchen.

"Feeling any better?" Crowley asked.

"Much. That definitely helped." Aziraphale assured.

"Here let me check what's left of your wounds." Crowley stated.

Aziraphale sat there as Crowley checked his wounds and sat up slightly when he checked his back.

"The burns are healing alright, finally. Your back is looking better, but I'm sorry to say you're gonna have some scars left over." Crowley warned.

"I expected as much. Sandalphon is very thorough." Aziraphale stated as he leaned back against the pillows pulling the blanket up a little higher.

"Has anyone come looking?" Aziraphale asked.

"No one. Not that I have noticed. I threw up some wards when I got you back, no one has tried to come here or break in so I think we are safe for the time being." Crowley explained.

They lapsed into a comfortable silence as Crowley sat back on his side of the bed.

"Crowley I am so sorry." Aziraphale mumbled.

"What in the world could you be sorry for?" Crowley questioned

"When we were together last time. I hurt you, I rejected you." Aziraphale stated his voice slightly cracking.

"Angel none of that matters now. What matters is you are here. I was so scared that I was going to be too late to save you and that you were going to discorporate in my arms." Crowley assured.

"I'm sorry you had to see me like that, I had no where else to turn." Aziraphale softly cried.

"Stop apologizing Angel. I will always come for you." Crowley insisted.

Crowley took Aziraphale's face in his hands and kissed him softly, wiping away a few tears that had leaked out of his eyes. They broke apart and Crowley moved closer curling up to Aziraphale taking him in his arms, perfectly content to spend the rest of the day like this.

"So what were the plans for the Second Coming?" Crowley asked after a beat.

"I'd rather not discuss it. Not now anyway, I'm still not tip top and can't seem to recall much of the past couple days. My head is all foggy." Aziraphale mumbled.

"That doesn't surprise me. You were really out of it for awhile there. Especially last night." Crowley stated.

"I'm sorry."

"Stop apologizing. Your ok now and thats what matters."

"What are we going to do now Crowley?" Aziraphale asked.

"I don't know, we will figure something out. For now let's just focus on getting you back to your old self and worry about that later."

Aziraphale nodded and snuggled into Crowley further letting his eyes slip close as he fell asleep again. Crowley smiled contently. He was so glad Aziraphale was finally out of the woods and on the way to recovery. He pressed a small kiss to his forehead and pulled him closer. He sat there the rest of the night watching Aziraphale sleep thankful to have his angel back and anxious to finally start showing him just how much he loved him and was ready to spend the rest of eternity with him no matter what came their way.
