As the class focuses their gaze on the petite programmer, she tried to steady herself while fisting her hands on her skirt and takes a deep breath before introducing herself. "M-My name is Chihiro Fujisaki... I was invited here as the Ultimate Programmer with decent programming skills."
Most people immediately understands and quite surprised of one being a whizz in computers and software but Hina draws a blank at that and darts her hand into the air. "What do you mean by programming?"
Chihiro feels this as a good start without any arkward pauses as she explains it. "Ah? ...Well, I work and input different programs consisting special codes into computers and other pieces of technology."
She tilts her head to the side with a confused look. "Sorry, I... don't get it."
Before Chihiro could try to explain it more simpler for Asahina, we could all hear Byakuya scoffing. "She means she makes computers and the software inside them work. Have you been living under rock or something?"
That just marks a spark of a fight breaking out as she outwardly glares at the arrogant looking boy. "Hey, I'm not a moron! What's with that horrible manner to someone in your class!?"
"Hmph... I'm simply saying what I observed. I'm certain mostly everyone else understood what programming meant." He crosses his arms and returns it with a glare of his own.
From my point of view, things are starting to get messy as the two begin to argue on the first day of class. Chihiro attempts to defuse the situation. "Well. The term programmer can apply to a lot of things..."
Byakuya once again, he snorts at that remark. "No, it can't. You can program different things, but to program something is to program something. Stop trying to defend her stupidity unless you wish to make a fool of yourself."
Makoto then refutes that, "But, you can't just call her stupid from one thing that she's said-"
"I can actually. Anyone could tell she's only here because of her swimming capabilities, and not for anything that's intelligent based." He smirks at Chihiro and Makoto and adjusts his glasses. "You two really should stop talking... You will make yourself look dumb by helping her.
I could see Chihiro's eyes begin to water but she doesn't deserve to be talk back like that including Makoto and Aoi. Aoi is probably not much of a tech savvy person while Makoto and Chihiro is only doing what is right. I should probably say something direct and humourous to ease the tension.
Byakuya takes a seat while concluding, "I take that as you all agree that I'm right. In fact, I can tell you all are just a bunch of clueless and dumb in nature."
I guess it is good as time as any to say it out, "Well, that's why we are here in school, aren't we?" After that, most of the guys go upbeat like "Say What?!" and some even laugh at that reply.
Then, as expected Byakuya comes in with a stern-like glare towards everyone acting like a bigshot. He just sighs and ignores everyone as he points out that, "Everyone of you are not worth my time, I rather not waste my breath on you brainless bunch." Although it is not obvious, Aoi Asahina knows that he is refering to her with that insulting comment.
I could see Chihiro worrying and trying to defuse the tension in the classroom but apart from explaining programming codes, she does not know what to share to make it sound interesting.
Then, Aoi asks Chihiro more about programming where she explains that programming can make a lot of things possible like medical healthcare robots, artificial intelligence and cognitive learning programmes. The Ultimate Swimming Pro is amazed with such technology advancement and capabilities along with several others who also find it a bit interesting.
Some students even drop some ideas like could Chihiro maybe build a training robot dummy for Sakura's training or a singing idol android like Ex Machina. Chihiro is slightly tongue-tied with those ideas but she nods to the ideas.
With that introduction, Taka applauds to a splendid speech from Chihiro and most of the class are impressed too. She quickly makes her way back to her seat where Chihiro turns towards me and I give her a smile and thumbs up with a job well done. It is about time that I help Chihiro open up to others more but I'm a little worried about a few individuals like Junko and Byakuya.
These kinds of people would just run her over and torment her but then again, that black coated gangster, Mondo Owada seems to be supportive and protective of Chihiro which I think is beneficial to have some tough friends.
But, seeing that there is much to prepare if we are to become classmates together for the coming years, there is no time to waste after this morning class. Also, I noticed a prize machine on the way over to class this morning that I plan to check later...
