Melanie was a model employee, she didn't steal, she was always on time, she was friendly, and she worked hard. She also turned her phone off while at work. Unfortunately, this also meant she generally only checked her phone after she got off work. So she was shocked when Brad rushed into the smoothie shop and up to the counter.

"Melanie, I need you to come with me." Brad was ghost-white, alarming Melanie.

"I'm working Brad you're being silly," Melanie replied attempting to convey positivity.

"Melanie, Freddie called me, your mom took a turn, I need to get you there," Brad responded, eyes sympathetically locked on Melanie's expression.

"Oh my God," Melanie felt her heart sink through the floor.

"I'll drive you, but we should hurry," Brad explained.

Melanie could feel tears streaming down her face, "But someone has to close down the shop, I can't leave."

Brad didn't even hesitate, "I'll do it. You can take my car, I'll close down for you."

Melanie paused, "That's so sweet, but you don't work here, and I can't let you do that for me."

"You're hiring still, right? I'm applying. Do I get the job?" Brad said, dead serious.

"Really?" Melanie said, wiping her eyes with a napkin.

Brad nodded, grabbing Melanie's hand, and placing his keys in her palm.

"Drive safe," Brad smiled reassuringly.

Melanie felt the tears pour down her face as she walked around the counter and wrapped her arms around Brad's waist. She gave him a quick peck on the cheek and ran out the front door.

"Hey everybody! I'm Carly, welcome back to the iCarly podcast. Today we have some very special, and gorgeous, guests. Please welcome Kendall Knight, James Diamond, Logan Mitchell, and Carlos Garcia of Big Time Rush! Welcome to the show guys," Carly sang cheerily through her microphone.

"Please, thank you for having us. We're all big fans of iCarly and your podcast," Kendall spoke up.

"No way, that's awesome, you hear that grandpa? I told you people still remember who I am!" Carly said, playing up the joke as Gibby pressed the button for the laugh track.

"Alright, but on a serious note, you guys haven't released an album in ten years, what made you guys get back onto the music scene?" Carly asked.

"Yeah, why now? Aren't you in your forties or something?" Gibby chimed in, awkwardly.

"Gibby!" Carly snapped

.

"No, it's totally fine Carly. We did take a long break from making music, aside from a single here or there," Logan explained, trying to defuse the situation.

"It is not fine! We're 26 and I look great," James protested, angrily.

"Let me finish," Logan interjected again, "The fact is that we were all seventeen when we released 24/7, and to Gibby's; albeit exaggerated; point, we started wondering when does a boyband stop being a boyband and just become four grown men singing and dancing around in tight clothes?" Logan explained.

"It took us a while but eventually we came to the conclusion that as long as we were still enjoying making music together why would we stop? I mean, from the start it wasn't all about being rich or famous it was about doing something we could enjoy together," Kendall elaborated.

"Yeah, I just really think that realization brought new life to our music careers. Hence the album name 'Another Life'." Logan concluded.

Carly nodded, "Wow, that's deep. I love it when albums have real meaning behind them. Speaking of meanings in your music, are there any songs that hold a specific meaning to any of you?"

Kendall spoke up immediately, "Definitely. We all try to add a personal touch to our albums, the idea is that if you are singing about someone in particular or about a personal experience it adds another layer and it seems to resonate better with fans. So for me, that song was Can't Get Enough, I recently married my longtime girlfriend, Jo," he paused for the inevitable sound effect Gibby would play (he chose the "Aw" button) before continuing, "I love her too death, and so that song is definitely one that I worked on with her in mind,"

"That's so sweet, what about the rest of you? Are any tracks that mean more to you?" Carly was loving this.

Logan spoke next, "Yeah, I think that Forget You Now pretty much sums up a toxic relationship I was in for years. She was an actor actually, we were off again on again for almost six years. My hope is that Forget You Now will help people who are in toxic relationships realize that just because you love someone doesn't mean you need to hold onto that relationship if it's clearly not good for either of you,"

"That's awesome, I think it's so important to address the toxicity of a lot of modern relationships," Carly could almost feel her ratings soar.

"Wow, hard to follow that up," Carlos joked, "For me, I think Waves was kind of my passion project. I wanted to capture my vibe when it comes to music. For a while, I actually considered dropping it as a single under my name because it was more experimental for the Big Time Rush brand and I wasn't sure how it would be received. But Logan and Kendall sat me down and in the spirit of just doing the music we wanted to do said, hey, we're a group and we want you to feel represented in the group so we made a few minor changes and put it out as a single. To hype up the album, which was really cool for me,"

"How different was the original going to be from what we got?" Carly inquired.

"Oh, honestly we really only changed it to fit four singers instead of one, and believe me, what we got is so much better for it," Carlos chuckled.

"James? Are any of the tracks special to you?" Gibby asked.

"Not yet, but the more we talk to Carly the more I feel like I could relate to Brand New," James said, looking at Carly with his signature smolder.

"Wow, well we can definitely get into more detail about that later," Carly said, awkwardly trying to flirt.

"You realize in the past week you've had two guys live on the show ask you out? What about Gibbehhh? When is someone gonna ask me out live?" Gibby complained.

"You want James to ask you out?" Carly asked, irritated.

"Hey, just cuz I don't swing that way doesn't mean I wouldn't be flattered by the offer," Gibby said, defiantly.

"Well that got awkward," Carly said regaining composure, "So, Kendall is married, James is totally crushing on me, what about Logan and Carlos? Is anyone special in your life?" Carly asked, knowing fans would be furious if she didn't.

"Honestly Carly, I've been in a longer relationship with my sneakers than with any person I've dated," Carlos kidded.

"That's a no from me too Carly, I did meet an incredibly cute cashier earlier this week though, so who knows," Logan grinned, only half joking.

"Great. Well, everyone, we're going to take a short break here, but we will be back with more from Big Time Rush. Remember to get their new album Another Life at the Pearstore, mobile download, and anywhere great music is sold!" Carly said, finishing her segment.
