Preston Garvey walked up to the two Watchmen outside of the building that served as the Mayor's Office of Goodneighbor.

"Holy fuck.", one exclaimed. "You showed up. The nerve on this one."

"It's good to be expected.", Garvey replied. "Are you going to show me up?"

The other one stepped forward. "And what if I don't Minuteman? You going to do something about it?"

Garvey shifted his gaze. "Since the Minutemen don't operate inside Commonwealth communities, not in any official capacity.

"So unless Goodneighbor's laws allow for wiping the smile off of fools' faces, then no."

Farenheit opened the door behind the two laughing guards. "For the next two minutes, the law allows just that.", she said while picking at her fingernails with a knife. The two guards stopped laughing.

As they swung their submachine guns into position, Garvey pressed against the weapons forcing the men to be pointing at each other. Preston threw his left leg around the legs of the one on the left and his right arm around the head of the right while the men were still clutching their guns. The Colonel proceeded to pummel the face of the man on the right with his left fist. When the man on the left pulled away, Garvey's let pulled the other man with them, bending the Watchmen over with Garvey's arm around his neck. By the time the man had gotten loose, Preston had dragged the other's skull into the pavement and ducked under the wrenched free machine gun. Tackling the man's ankles and standing up, the other Watchmen's head bounced against the ground. Garvey sent the upside down man away with a kick to the spine, and flung the same leg back to flatten the one behind him. Picking up the one's submachine gun and wrenching the man's neck up to face him, Preston said "Don't move." and leveled the man's own weapon on him. He used his new shooting perch to pelt the other submachine gun away from the Watchmen crawling toward it more than once.

Farenheit pointed her knife at him. "Your two minutes are up." Preston let go of the man and the submachine gun, and picked up his hat. She opened the door wider. "Get in here." Preston walked past her brushing off his hat. She regarded the men on the ground, scoffed, and slammed the door shut with her hip.

Preston walked into the main meeting room of the Mayor's Office, only to find Magnolia at the end of a cigarette. "Get out." Farenheit called out gruffly.

Magnolia smoked its last and walked by Preston. "Don't take it personal. I'd kick me off the couch for you too."

"So what do you do on a date?", Farenheit asked.

Preston regarded her. "I'd like to see a lady entertained."

The knife flew out of her hand, past his cheek, and he was sure it landed on the bullseye of the dartboard behind him. She smiled. "Oh, you're getting more entertaining all the time."

"That's how you spend your time as mayor?", he asked.

Farenheit shrugged as she walked past him to retrieve her knife. "It keeps the peace.

"If I'm the most violent thing that moves in this city."

"You don't get it because you're a good guy in command of good guys. People who signed up because they want to help." She gestured out the window. "I allowed you to stomp those two because they were coming close to acting like the bullies everyone treats cops as. But to show everyone that only I can mess with mine, now I'm going to have throw you out this window. Or fuck you and turn you loose tomorrow morning. Either way says you're mine too.

"But with the way you look at the General, I think one's more likely than the other."

Preston turned his head to look at the window, then turned back to Farenheit. "The General's with Piper."

The mayor of Goodneighbor laughed out loud. "Even if that were the case, the woman still had a son. Doesn't put a man out of the equation now does it?

"Don't worry, cowboy. We can start with something simple enough to be holier-than-thou and political enough to be official. I'll give the Colonel of Personnel a tour of the town."

Garvey eyes narrowed. "And that will be enough to show your superiority?"

"I'm sure I can dig up a leash for our walk if you want.", she answered.
