It was a weekend and Polly Plantars was officially doing what all teenagers were legally enforced to do.

Sleep the heck in.

Lying there in her hammock, she swung gently her right arm was hanging from the side of the hammock, a small trail of drool dripping from her mouth.

Right now in her dreams she was with someone, large muscular, and had a habit of being cute in almost everything she did, the frog face a little laugh.

"Purdy" she mumbled

Frobo lay in the corner, in sleep mode, dreaming of electric ladybugs.

Yes it was the perfect Saturday morning to stay in bed.

That's why the universe decided to ruin it for Polly

The door slammed open with a kick, causing Polly to fall out of her bed, pulling her blanket to cover herself she turned to face the intruder.

Standing there was the human she considered her older sister. Ten years ago she'd do anything to see again.

Right now she wished she had something large to throw at her.

"Good morning Polly," said Anne in a way too chipper voice.

Polly groaned, tightened the blankets around her and fell to the floor.

"Can't talk, dead." said Polly, closing her eyes.

The teenage frog heard Anne sigh "Come on, you promised."

Polly snuggled tighter into her blankets, "No, I didn't" she responded defiantly opening an eye.

She watched Anne standing there with an annoyed expression on her face, she reached inside her pocket and pulled out her phone and pressed it.

"Sue Anne, I'll spend the day with you," said the recorded Polly excitedly, "Just wake me up and remember."

The young robotics genius groaned and rose, "Can't I get like five more minutes?"

"Nope, I've got an entire day planned." Anne said.

Polly knew that she just needed to say something, She knew what happened the last time Anne wanted to do something against her will, not that she disliked her title of Town spitter, but she'd rather not risk getting into trouble with the law again, or just being an ugly tourist.

"Anne, I know this is dumb, but maybe we could wait a little bit longer."

"But Polly, I got you Spa tickets."

"Oh, good the spa," said Polly annoyed, "I'd love that."

The young Frog was surprised to see Anne smile, "I never did tell you about mud baths back then did I."

Polly was now awake, "What?"

"Mud baths, you get into mud and bathe in it."

"Why didn't you tell me that those existed back then?" said Polly in joy.

"I didn't think they had them over here, but I checked a few days back, and afterward I've arranged a flamethrower testing with Loggle.

Polly let out a delighted squeal of joy and looked at Anne with love in her eyes, "Thank you, Anne."

Anne laughed, "You're welcome now get dressed,"

Polly dropped her blanket, and turned to her draw, she grabbed her nicest pair of overalls and put them on.

"Um, Polly… can you put on something nicer?" said Anne.

Polly turned to her, "There are my nice clothes, they've got the least grease stains on them."

Anne sighed, "Okay one other thing to add to the agenda, Buying you a new dress."

Polly sighed, "Really?"

The human gave her a stare, Polly briefly thought about rebelling against it but decided not to, she'd give her a break.

"Okay, fine but after the flamethrowers."

"Fine, It'll be the day for the two of us."

A loud ringing suddenly filled the room, a large metal object in the room extended it's head, Legs and arms from its body, and jumped.

"Morning Polly, Anne, are we doing anything today?"

Anne looked at the robot then at Polly, They shrugged.

"The three of us then."

Max had to admit he needed to go and fast, He had been her for a few days now, any longer, and it would be harder to sneak away.

However, yet again he had stayed for breakfast, a surprisingly nice oatmeal, He looked at Hop-Pop sitting across from him talking to Sprig, he had to be honest he had enjoyed spending time here, interacting with the family.

Maybe he could ask if he could stay here?

No, that wouldn't work, they were nice to him, but that didn't mean they'd want him to stick around.

Before he could say anything, the rest of the family walked in.

"Morning," said Anne and Frobo.

"What's for breakfast?" asked Polly in the normal morning teenage greetings.

"So what are you girls and robot up today?" asked Hop-Pop.

"Well, Anne, I and Frobo are going to hit the town," said Polly.

"Oh that's good." replied Hop-Pop, "Just try not to set the town on fire, I don't want a repeat of last year."

"I've got nothing," said Sprig, "Just a quiet day for me."

"What about you Max?" asked Anne.

Before the boy could respond, there was tapping on the window, he turned to see a mosquito the size of a turkey ramming into the window again and again.

Anne stood up and walked over to the window and opened it, the mosquito flew in hovered in front of Anne, with a letter attached to it's sucked.

Anne took the note, read it and handed it to Max, "It's for you."

Max took the latter and unrolled it.

"Dear Max, I have to talk to you, It's me Lucien," as soon as he said that he groaned.

"What's wrong?" Anne asked.

Max sighed, he didn't tell them about yesterday, didn't want them to worry and get suspicious.

"I got into a fight with Lucian yesterday, and I guess he wants to apologize."

"Oh that's nice." said Sprig.

"I mean at least he's being nice," said Polly who currently had a glass in her hand.

"Could you please meet me by the fountain at today's Robotics fair."

There was the noise of the glass dropping Max looked away from the letter and looked at the Plantars, Sprig and Hop-Pop looked terrified, Polly's expression was one of shock and anger, Anne just looked confused.

"THERE'S A ROBOTICS FAIR THIS YEAR?." roared Polly at her male relatives.

"Um, yes?" said Sprig,

"WHAT!" demanded Polly

"Today." squealed Hop-Pop.

"Why wasn't I told this!" said Polly throwing up her arms.

"Well, Remember last year?" her brother, at the robot fight."

"He cheated," said Polly.

"He was six, and you made him cry."

"Sorry," said Anne confused, "What's going on?"

"Every year since you left Wartwood is host to the biggest Robotics fair in all of Amphibia, I usually enter and win, but everyone told me it was cancelled this year," the teenage frog walked over to the couch and flopped down on it.

Anne watched the frog girl sit there in teenage anger, It was funny ten years ago it would be her sitting there full of teenage angst.

"You know Polly, maybe we could skip some of the things I had planned today, like the extreme tea party and the tarantula races for some time looking at machines."

Polly head swung up, a hopeful look in her eyes, "Really?"

The Herpetologist nodded, the teenage inventor leaped from her seat and hugged Anne, "You're the best and only family I have Anne besides Frobo."

"Hey!" said Sprig

"Hush boy, her rage is off us for a few minutes."

"On the plus side I don't have to beat up some brainless robots," said Frobo.

"Well I hope you two have fun, I'm staying here." replied Max replacing Polly on the coach.

"But Lucian wanted you to go there? Aren't you guys friends?" asked Sprig

"Nah, We got into a fight yesterday, besides it's not as if it's important, I won't see him again after I go back to earth."

There was an audible gasp that filled the room, Max turned to see Sprig with his mouth open, after twenty seconds Sprig closed his mouth and looked at the human boy stoically.

"Max… Whatever your last name is, You can't just say that about your friends, I mean these could be the most important people you'll ever know, heck look at me and Anne, Besties through and through."

"Dang straight," said Anne nodding.

"Besides if you have limited time then shouldn't you spend more time with them?"

Max shrugged "Not really."
"Well I, for one, think you should spend some time with them," said Sprig, "In fact I insist on it."

In a fit of youth defiance that would rival earlier strop Max lay down on the couch, "No, Nothing's getting me off of this couch.

"Oh yes, it will." said Anne, "Frobo restrain him."

Two long metal arms reach out and grabbed the human by the neck of his shirt, he was pulled towards the robots' chest, it briefly released him but Frobo crossed his arms preventing the human from escaping.

Max sighed, "Dang it."

Wartwood Market had been completely transformed for the fair, the stalls weren't selling their usual wares, not instead there were demonstrations of different feats of robotics in Amphibia.

Robots had become quite popular in the years since the army had been destroyed, the more dangerous ones were locked up in the remains of the factories, and a few were in Polly's lab, However smaller ones were either reprogrammed or modified to fit conventional use.

One of the most well known as the watering can droids, There were security bots that would alert the authorities if there was a crime in process, Baby sitting droids, even a few had been repurposed for transport, of course there were some who suggested that maybe they could be used in their original military purpose, a combination of Grimes and Yunan's objections shut that idea down.

With this development there was only one thing to do.

Come together and show off.

Polly stood just by the entrance looking around at all the displays, all the robots, she spotted a one of Andrias drones reposed into a speaker, Mayor Toadies voice booming out of it.

"Welcome to the eighth annual Wartwood Robotics fair, Please enjoy everything and don't destroy the town this time."

Below the drone were a group of small orb shaped robots that waddled on the ground, behind them was a newt with a shirt advertising the droids as part of a delivery service.

In the distance she could see a robot the size of the farm, Polly couldn't help but be impressed, this was the transport-a-tron 2000 able to carry construction material of over five hundred tons.

Polly Plantar was in a candy store.

Anne Boonchuy was more confused by the entire thing, She understood what she was looking at but half of the signs on the various stalls made little sense, How to increase ram, do Robots dream of Robotic slugs, the singularity, really the next step?" looking at Polly however she was sure she had done the right thing in bringing her here.

The only one who wasn't impressed was Frobo.

"Another year of disappointment that for sure." said the robot standing next to them.

"Jeeze, Frobes," said Polly, "You don't have to be a jerk."

"Sorry, but let's be honest I don't get that many chances to talk to another smart robot."

"Um, can I ask something?" said Anne, "What do you mean smart robot?"

"Chuckles over here is the only robot who's advanced enough to talk," replied Polly.

"Yeah, ever since the Core was defeated I'm the last of my kind," replied Frobo happily.

"You seem a little too happy about that," said Anne.

"It meant he got to be the winner of the annual robot fight, Not this year though."

"So guys where do you want to go first?."

Polly was about to answer when there was a stomping noise behind them, the trio turned to see a large robot walking up to them, it was black and white it had two small pointed ears, despite its size it looked friendly.

"It's a panda?" said Anne confused,

"It's a Robot?."

"IT'S PANDATRON." shouted Polly

"That's right." said a voice from behind the robot, Two figure stepped out, two women who were familiar to Polly.

"JESS! ALLY!" Screamed Polly a joyful smile on her face

Jess was wearing blue overalls and a green shirt, Ally was wearing Jeans and a yellow shirt with a campy robot from the 1980s the word "alive" underneath it.

Polly jumped towards them and hugged them.

"What are you guys doing here?" said Anne, fighting back a small twinge of jealously.

"Jan told us about the robot fair, Wally told her and told us not to tell Polly, but since you're here, we decided why the hell not."

"I can't believe you guys are here," said Polly her voice full of more joy than anyone thought it was possible."

"And you brought a giant heap of metal." said Frobo, hitting Pandatron on the chest, he chuckled at the robot.

The larger robot's head swiveled to look at the smaller robot, "Who are calling a heap, Tiny," it said with a deep gruff voice.

Frobo stood back and looked at the giant robot, "You can talk?"

"Yeah, I'm surprised you can."

"Panda-tron, Play nice." said Jess

The larger robot looked at her, the two metal bars that made up its eyebrows rose slightly "Sorry Mom," it said sadly.

"Woah' Panda-trons sentient?"

That's right," said Ally, "A couple of upgrades, a few reprogramming and bam, we have a robot with a mind."

"Looks like you're not as rare as you think, Frobo." said Anne.

Frobo flooded his arms and turned away from the group, "I'm still cuter" he muttered.

"What are we waiting for, we've got an entire fair to explore, and I'm with two of the coolest Robotic builders in two worlds."

Anne looked at the teenage frog, she really wanted to just spend the day with Polly, But the more she thought of it, this wouldn't hurt, it was for Polly.

"That sounds okay." said Anne nodding, a smile on her face.

"Great." said Ally.

"Sounds fun." added Jess.

Polly took the two taller woman's hands and ran off with them deeper into the fair, as Anne watched she felt a twinge of jealousy, she followed them at a distance.

Frobo started to follow when he noticed the lack of stomps, he turned around to see Pandatron standing there, "Hey, you following?"

The robot raised a hand, "Yeah, just give me a minute."

Frobo turned around to follow the three humans and one teenage frog.

Pandatron's eyes briefly glowed red, "Soon," he thought deep down in his electronic brain.

Max stood behind the corner of a building somewhat bored, standing next to him was Sprig who was hugging the wall, peaking around the corner.

Sitting at the town fountain was Marcy Yunan watching people walk about, it was kind of funny how they kept finding themselves at that fountain.

"Okay Max, There's Marcy, Now go out there and show her how much you care for her as a friend."

Looking at the frog Max sighed, Marcy was not the person he'd want to hang out with on a good day, she was a narc, a well-behaved goody two shoes who wouldn't know what fun was if it came out and smacked her with a fraying pan, sure he'd admit that had a few things in common, they had bonded slightly, but that wasn't exactly enough to make them friends, though the girl had proven to have a bit of a wild side, and he knew what it was like to be adopted.

As he stepped out from behind the corner of the building he made his way to Marcy.

"Marcy" he said flatly.

"Max," said Marcy with faux politeness, "Why is Sprig hiding behind that building?"

Turning around max saw Sprig head sticking out from behind the building, he turned back to Marcy and shrugged, "He's just acting weird, I'm guessing you got a letter from Lucian as well?"

Marcy nodded and pulled out a letter from a pocket on her dress, "Yep, I saw Grime this morning, he told me that he fell into danger yesterday, some cannibals.".

"Really?" max said trying to continue to sound casual, "Are they common?"

"No but there are a lot of weirdos out there." replied the small frog.

"They're not all out there," said a voice from below the two.

Marcy and Max looked down to see a small ball on lets standing there.

"Hey Nicole," said Max, "What are you doing here?"

"I was supposed to help out with the robot fair." started the young left annoyed, "But then I discovered someone made a robot to take my job."

Max winced, "Automation strikes again."

"You want to hang out with me today?" asked Marcy.

"Got nothing better to do." replied Nicole, so what did Lucian do?"

"He was a jerk to me and Marcy." said Max

"One of the biggest, I might not forgive him." said Marcy her arms crossed, "Even if he was almost killed, and the idea of me losing my best friend is awful,"

"Um, hi guys." said a timid voice from behind the three.

They turned to see a toad boy standing there, a guilty look upon his face, he looked like a puppy whose owner had just discovered the surprised he left in their slippers.

Marcy instantly by his side hugging him, "I'm so glad you're okay Don't ever do something as stupid as that ever again."

The toad boy struggled to breath from the small frog's hug, it took all of Max strength to not laugh at the sight, Nicole was laughing at them.

"Guys," Lucian wheezing, "I just wanted 'gasp[' To say I'm sorry."

The human boy looked at him and smiled wickedly, "Well I don't think it'll be that…"

All of a sudden something wet hit him in the back of his head.

Max turned to see Sprig barely hiding behind the corner of a building, he saw the frog's tongue retreat back into his mouth, he then looked at Max doing a hugging gesture with his arms.
"What's Sprig doing?" asked Marcy letting go of Lucian

"Nothing," muttered Max, "Any way I still haven't-"

Another hit.

"Ouch." yelped Max

"Why is he tonging you?" said Nicole.

"Don't say that please," replied Max, "Anyway I-"

Another hit.

"Okay fine," he sighed, "Lucian, I forgive you."

"Thanks," said the toad boy, "You were right though, Bog and the others were just using me, I should have listened to both of you."

The hang dog expression of Lucian actually did make Max feel a little bad, the toad had been nice to him and in turn Max felt a little guilty for using him, "It's okay, I just…"

All of a sudden another hit to the back of the head, Max turned to the pink frog "SERIOUSLY?"

"No you're fine, There was a fly on the back of your head, he was delicious."

Max sighed and turned back to the amphibians., "So is there anything to do here?"

"Well, there's a display on Robot irrigation I wanted to see," said Nicole.

"Yeah, that sounds interesting," yawned Max.

"There's an exhibition of robots for peace." said Marcy.

"Eh."

"There are the fights." said Lucian.

"Now you have my attention." said Max interested in the appeal of robots smashing robots up, "Head the way Lucian."

Lucian started to walk followed by Marcy and Nicole, Max briefly looked back where Sprig was to see the frog peaking out from his poorly throughout hiding place giving a thumbs up, Max just rolled his eyes and followed the others.
