Anne stood there looking at Samantha, a part of her didn't want to do this, but another part really did.

Her blonde opponent stood across from her, looking at her hatefully and charged, her sword raised.

Anne blocked it with her sword, the sounds of metal clashed mixed with the roar of frogs and toads cheering.

"You can beat her, Anne," shouted Weed, her frog best friend.

Samantha glared at him, this frog was responsible for all this.

"Do not listen to her Sasha," commanded major Grince, the evil toad commander, "Focus on the fight."

Blades clashed again and again, both worried where sweating, both unwilling to surrender, both wondering how things had led up to this."

Anne then grabbed Samantha's cape and threw it over her face, she delivered a kick sending her opponent to the floor.

The bully now on the floor removed the cape from her face only to see a sword pointed in her face.

"It's over," said Anne.

"Watch I got iskaied after being on Iskaied, on Soft Bread," said a generic looking anime girl, in a strange outfit.

Max blinked, he had been so engrossed in the work he didn't realize he was looking at ad.

It was late, past midnight, a part of Max wanted to go to sleep, but he was so engrossed in this new comic.

He had been introduced to the comic yesterday by Doctor Waybright, it was during their session, and she had briefly paused to look at her phone.

"So you're pausing our session just to look at a comic?" he had asked.

"Well it's not just any comic, it's one drawn by a friend of mine."

"What's it called?" asked Max.

Sasha smiled, "Amphib-Anne, you'd probably like it."

Doctor Way bright was right, From the first page Max was hooked, the comic was a story about a girl who traveled to a different world full of talking frogs, she had started as an outsider to a nearby village but as time went on she became a hero, made friends and discovered more about the world, and herself.

There were jokes, there was action there were monsters, everything a boy like Max loved.

He had spent the whole day reading the comic online, and now he was finished.

There were only two things to do now he was finished.

One was to wait for the comic to update, the second was far more drastic, read the comment for theories.

With no other better options he did it.

The theories were weird, the first one was that Vel, the mysterious salamander that appeared an arc back was a ghost.

The other was that Grince was a zombie, because of his yellow eye.

At the very bottom was a link, leading to a conspiracy theory forum, the post was written by truthseeker96, it read "Want the truth about this comic? Click here."

Max had been told over and over again to never click on links to strange places… so he did it instantly.

"Frog-vasion" Read the first post, "The truth."

"Ten years ago there was an invasion in Los Angeles, a flying castle, robots, super powered girls, how the world was doomed."

Max looked at the words, He had heard of Frog-vasion, some of the older kids at the orphanage had said it was an alien invasion, others said it was just a a movie production that had gotten out of hand, Max had been told that he had been found that day, In a way it was his birthday, no that the Doe's celebrated it.

He kept scrolling until he got to a video.

In it a giant robot smashed into a building, a flying girl with blue hair floated there.

It looked good, but Max didn't care for conspiracy movies even with good budgets.

However, that's when the camera zoomed into the face of the girl, he paused it and took a look at her.

She looked like Doctor Boonchuy.

Max quietly laughed, that was stupid there was no way it was her.

He pressed play.

The crowd started to chant "Anne" again and again.

He paused the video again.

It couldn't be her, why was she in a conspiracy video?

That's when he saw other pictures.

One of a blonde girl and a short monster smashing robots, a pair of giant herons being tamed by three creatures dancing, a picture of a girl destroying the robot,

Following that there were pictures of newspaper articles of the missing girls returned, a movie poster with the blue haired girl and the robot, it was titled "Frog-vasion"

At the very end of the post there was a summary.

"In conclusion there is enough evidence to prove that the events that happened in L.A were real, and that the three girls travelled to another world. Many have tried to contact Anne Boonchuy, Marcy Wu and Sasha Waybright but no success. In fact many of those who have tried contacting them have been confronted with the legal threats. However, the question remains, what is in this other world, are they friends or foes."

Max sat there looking at his phone, there was another world, Doctor Boonchuy, Doctor Waybright and the author of Amphibi-anne must have gone there.

What was it like where the frog nice, where they liked that newt guy? Could he go there?

Just the very idea was better than staying with the Does.

That night his dreams were full of adventures in another world.

Hopediah Plantar was worried, Anne wasn't home yet.

An hour ago Bessie had been returned to the farm by Loggle who had been told that the snail

Had been left there after Anne had run off into the forest.

He knew he was probably overreacting, but something seemed wrong.

As he sat there waiting for them to return his mind ran through every possible scenario that could have happened to her, maybe she had met up with Max, and they had gotten ice cream together.

Or maybe they had been kidnapped by pirates, eaten by herons, or forced to join a mushroom cult.

He let out a worried groan.

"You okay there Hop-Pop?" asked Sprig who was currently scrolling through his phone.

"I'm fine, Just worrying about Anne, She's been gone a while."

"She's fine," said a voice from upstairs, Polly walked downstairs carrying a large metal box, she was followed by Frobo.

"I predict there's a Ninety eight point seven percent chance she's fine," said Frobo.

"What about the one point three?" asked Hop-Pop.

"She's in trouble."

"ONE POINT THREE," said Hop-Pop worried, he was about to stand up when Sprig rushed over to his grandfathers side.

"Hop-Pop, Relax," said Sprig, "We don't know if she's in danger, she's just out there probably relaxing after yesterday, alone….without me."

Polly looked at her brother, "That sounds a little desperate."

Sprig shrugged, "Sorry it's just… We haven't really done that much since we got back."

"Sprig you've done plenty," said Hop-Pop, "just three days we spent the entire day watching five seasons of suspicion island."

"Yeah but that's just hanging out stuff, we need an adventure."

"I hope not," said Frobo.

"Really why?" asked Sprig.

"Last adventure my old body was smashed, I don't want that to happen again."

"And it won't with my new upgrade," said Polly, "With this I'm going to turn you into a mech suit for me to ride."

"That's all I need, a teenager controlling me."

Hopediah frowned, "You know I had gotten used to the idea that my four grandkids weren't endangering themselves, please don't start doing it again."

"Sorry Hop-Pop, danger follows us." said Polly.

The older frog sighed, "Yeah, but I don't think all of us are right for that."

"You mean Max?" asked Polly.

"Yeah," Hop-Pop sighed, "I just hope his friends are keeping him safe."

The door slammed open and Max rushed in, he was painting.

"THEY'VE TAKEN ANNE." he shouted hysterically.

"WHAT!" said the Plantars in unison.

"This guy name Tim Treller and Scumdrop, they lead this group of thugs and captured Anne, Sasha, Both Marcy's Nicole and Lucian, They left me because Anne made a promise with them not to go with them quietly, They have monsters traps and more, I was captured by the last night, and I was terrified of what happened, so I didn't say anything and I really had no idea how to save them and-"

"Max," said Hop-Pop raising a hand, "Calm down, that's too much information, Start again but slowly this time."

Hopeidah watched as his adoptive Great Grand-son explain everything, when he was finished Max was in tear.

"Scumdrop's back?" said Polly, "And he's got Anne, We need to round up the town."

Sprig walked up to Max and held his shoulder, "Don't worry Max, We've got her back."

"But how," said Max, "They've got an army."

"Yes," said Hop-Pop "They don't stand a chance

Max looked at the confused, "What-"

"No time," said Hop-Pop, "He took Max's hand and ran to the Bessie, The rest of the family followed, Sprig and Max rode on the snail with Hop-Pop, Polly rode Frobo in his Kart mode.

The next two hours have been a whirlwind of activity, The first place they stopped up was the Town hall, where The family had rushed to see the mayor, He was in his office talking to none other than Tritanio, when Max had explained the story, the newt had supported him, everything in his story matched up with the Newts investigation, with no other choice Toadie called together a town meeting.

Now Max found himself standing just outside the town hall Mayor mansion, half of the town was standing in front of them, Anne parents stood there towering about the others.

A part of Max was terrified that the town would try to attack him again for what happened yesterday.

"Okay everyone," shouted Toadie, it wasn't much of a shout, more like a polite squeak. "Listen up."

The crowd ignored him and kept talking.

Toadie coughed a few times, and then stood up straight, "LISTEN UP!"

The crowd stopped talking and looked at their mayor.

"Okay we have problems, a group known as the secret Circus has kidnapped our human friends and a group of children."

The town gasped, Anne's parents looked terrified, they held onto each other in fear, Grime looked shocked, General Yunan tightened her fists.

"Which children were taken?"

"Marcy Yunan, Lucian Vor's and Nicole."

A collective gasp went out, half the town knew Nicole and Marcy was the daughter of a general and a council member.

He saw Percy's parents hug each other, Grime was by their side instantly to offer them comfort, Yunan joined them.

Standing there Max felt powerless, if he had told someone none of this would have happened, if he had been smart and just told Anne what had happened, if only he wasn't so angry.

"Wait, why's that boy there?" came a voice from the crowd, a few frogs stepped away from where the voice had come from, a frog in fancy clothes was standing there, looking at him.

"Well Philen, he saw the entire thing and-"

"Ha," laughed the well-dressed frog, "We should trust him? A liar and someone who destroyed the town."

The town murmured, it was true, why should they trust him, he had sabotaged the robot contest, he had ruined their fountain, he had caused a horde of monsters to ravage the town.

"For all we know this might be a trick or heck, how do we know he's not working for this secret circus anyway?"

"PHILEN'S RIGHT"

"THAT KID'S A MONSTER"

"DO THEY HAVE CLOWNS? IF THEY'RE CALLED THE SECRET CIRCUS SHOULDN'T THERE BE CLOWNS?"

Max felt his heart break, they weren't going to listen, his previous actions had already turned the town against him."

"Besides considering the damage all the humans caused, why would we want them back."

No one was going to help them, Anne and the other would die, His friends would be taken away from their parents and-"

"NOW HOLD ONE A SLUG SLUGGING MINUTE!" cried an elderly voice from the edge of a crowd.

The town turned and gasped loudly, standing there was a gray frog with a stern look on her face, she was wearing a hospital gown, on her shoulder was a spider.

"OLD LADY CROAKER" said Philen, "You're alive?"

"Yeah, you think an overgrown moth would be able to kill me, Now what's all this malarkey about you not helping the humans."

"Look around old woman," said Philen, "Half the towns destroyed and-"

"That's nothing, We've dealt with Herons and Robots destroying the town, a couple of giant moths are pretty weak in comparison."

"He almost killed you?"

"Pfft, That's nothing I've received flowers that are more dangerous than that, By the way thanks Jonah lovely arrangement."

An evil looking old frog looked at the woman "Did the hidden scorpion-"

"Yes he attacked, I killed it."

"Oh, thank god, I was worried you'd go down easy," said Jonah smiling.

"Well why should we help them, after all the boy-"

"Messed up," said Croaker, "Just like Anne."

The crowd was quiet for a second.

"When Anne came here we thought she was a monster, but she became the hero we needed even after starting a fire, Sasha was a brutal thug, but she became our leader who not only protected us but fought alongside us, and Marcy helped rebuild the town."

"Yes but-"

"We forgave them for their mistakes. Are we going to hold the blame on a kid who's trying to do the right thing?" pleaded Ms Croaker.

"But how do we know he's telling the truth?"

"How about this then, We'll go and check it out and if it's a lie, then we beat him up."

Philen stood there for a second then shrugged, "Works for me."

The town cheered.

Max smiled, people were on his side, he still felt guilty about what happened, but that could wait, the old grog walked to the stage and jumped up and looked at Max.

"Don't get me wrong here kid," Said Croaker sternly, "You're still in a lot of trouble, you've got literal years of chores to work it off on my farm."

Max swallowed, "Yes Mam"

"Oof, That's the worst possible punishment I can think of," said Polly smiling putting her arm round Max's shoulders.

"Long hours working in the sun, The stinging of the nettles, the use of the whip," Sprig shuddered, "Glad it isn't me."

"Okay, People!" said Tritanio, "Let's get to work, Max said that the camp is full of Mercenaries, and dangerous monsters, so we need a plan."

"Oh," said Loggle raising his hand, "Maybe we build a giant wooden snail, hide in it, have them roll it in, and then… attack them?"

"Hmm, Why would they would that want a giant wooden snail?" replied Tritanio

"They probably wouldn't, but I have a giant wooden snail I want to get rid of."

"We're put that down as a maybe."

"How about we just blow theme up?" suggested Wally.

"That might kill the hostages?"

"Yeah but we'll take a lot more of them out as well I say that'll even things out."

Tritanio looked at the crowd, he remembered why it was so easy to con this part of Amphibia, "Okay listen, We need a better idea, if we're seen they might just send the monster or kill the hostages, We need a better plan."

Maddie rose her hand, "Okay I know that this idea has been turned down again and again but, How about we summon a demon?"

The mob groaned.

"No," said Mayor Toadie, "I took us forever to get our souls back last time, I still smell brimstone occasionally."

"But come on a dangerous monster that can destroy an entire camp, all we need to give it is one soul, and he'll do what we want."

Max's eyes widened, "We already have monsters!" he whispered.

"MAYOR TOADIE" Max shouted, "THE KILL-A-MOTHS!"

The town stopped shouting suggestions and listened to Max.

"Those things destroyed the town, so why can't we use them against the Secret Circus?"

The town started to murmur, half the town nodded agreeing that this might be a good idea, the other just complained that they were giving him another chance to ruin everything.

"I know it's dangerous, and I know you shouldn't trust me, but… If we don't Anne and the others are going to die."

"They'd make perfect air support," said Tritanio stroking his chin, "But someone will have to go with them to make sure they get there."

Max stood there the idea of going to those beasts terrified him, but he knew no one else could do it.

"I'll do it, It's the least I can do to make up for the rampage yesterday."

"We're coming to," said Hop-Pop, standing next to him were Polly and Sprig, a member of our family is in danger so we can't sit this one out."

"That means we're coming as well," said Oum, he husband nodded.

General Yunan, rose a fist, "The secret circus will great taking the daughter of General Yunan, The youngest-" everyone then tuned out, the town had heard it a thousand times before."

Captain Grime stood up, "If there's a fight I'm in."

"Okay," said Tritanio, "So here's the plan, Max will go with the Kill-A-Moths and fly to the circus base in the deep woods, The mob will attack when they try to flee.

The crowd nodded, the crowd dispersed, all going to get a something large or something sharp to beat up the secret circus with.

Gerlidiene sat in the old shop, she looked at the unlit torches and unused pitchforks, Not much use for a Pitchfork and torches saleswoman ten years after peace was declared, she didn't mind how happy people were, but she really felt unneeded.

Oh, of course there was selling both Pitch forks and torches for their traditional use, but that lacked the spark that she felt when she brought a community together to chase someone out of said community.

"Maybe it's time to just close up shop, It's been ten years since anyone's even thought of using my shop to chase anyone out of town."

The frog woman sighed and walked to the door, she took one last look at her shop, she still remembered when she first opened this place, daily people came here to buy weapons to scare those they hated.

The dream was now dead.

She opened the door…and was surprised to see a crowd outside, standing in front of it was Mayor Toadie

"Geraldine, We need you," said the short frog

Tears appeared in the frog woman's eyes, she was back.

Anne had been in tougher spots than this.

She looked at her chains and the matching chains on her friend's wrists, she looked at how two of the children had been tied up, Lucian looked brave, Frog Marcy seemed to be trying to match her friend, but she could tell in her eyes the frog girl was scared.

It was only a matter of time before she or one of her friends thought of a way to get them out of this mess.

Marcy was looking at her chain and the locking mechanism keeping her there, she had to be thinking of a way to free them.

Sasha had tried to pull herself free for a few minutes, but the chains were too tight.

"Guys, relax, we're going to get out of here," said Anne calmly.

"We know, Anne," said Sasha, looking at her chains.

"Yeah, We just need a few more minutes, and then I'll have thought of a plan." added Marcy.

Anne smiled at her friends then looked at the two tied up children on the chairs, "Are you okay."

"We're fine," said Lucian.

"Is Max okay?" asked frog Marcy sounding worried.

"Yes, he's safe I sent him back to earth."

The two Amphibians looked shocked, the bag still squirmed angrily, She could see in the corner of her eyes, Sasha looked relived, Marcy kept looking at the metal bracelets on her wrists.

"You mean he's gone?" asked Frog Marcy.

"Yeah, I made a deal with Scumdrop."

The bag stopped squirming and laughed.

Scumdrop?" asked Sasha.

"Yeah that's the newts name."

Next to her Marcy snorted, "Sorry? His name is Scumdrop?"

"Yep, He's a schooler from Newtopia, He tried to kill in the early days, treated me like a monster."

"I'm guessing you punched him?"

Anne laughed, "Yeah, he threatened Polly and Sprig and I punched him so hard I sent him into a tree."

Sasha and Marcy joined in, "And those other two?"

The Curators a creepy guy who wanted me as an Exhibit in this roadside attraction and the Hassleback gang bullied a town of small frogs, we met them when we were on the road."

Before Anne could continue the entrance to the tent opened.

In stepped Scumdrop, a wicked smile on his face, he was followed by The curator and Mama Hassleback.

"I want you to know I've been dreaming of this moment for years," said Scumdrop smugly.

"You must be a very lonely man then," replied Sasha.

"Funny, but nothing you can say is going to ruin my mood… Blonde one."

"You don't know my name?" said Sasha annoyed.

"Sorry but my grudge is with Anne," said Scumdrop shrugging.

"So why bother then?" replied Marcy.

"Well, if one of you was captured the others would try to save them," said The curator.

The trio of humans sat there for a second then one by one nodded.

"Yeah," said Sasha, "we would."

"So what next?" asked Marcy, "You going to kill us?"

"Yes, but that's not all I have planned," said Scumdrop smiling viciously.

"What else can you do? Have us stuffed and mounted," said Sasha sarcastically.

The room was quiet for a few seconds.

"Actually," said the Curator somewhat shocked, "Yes."

All three humans eyes widened, "What?"

"Well," said the Curator, "One of you was going to be the perfect exhibit for me, and since you ruined my business, I thought it was a nice exchange."

"That's stupid, who would want to come and see our stuffed corpses?" said Sasha, "Won't they arrest you?"

"Not if we only show you to those who hate you three, and besides We'll sell you off eventually," replied the Curator, "Think of it like a private gallery."

"Okay," said Anne nodding, "I get why you two are here but Mama Hassleback? Wouldn't going after Hop-Pop make more sense?"

"Kill you would make him upset wouldn't it?" said the large toad.

Anne nodded, "Fair."

"We all met years ago due to our criminal connections and guess what? We realized our lives were ruined by you, So we vowed to destroy you if you ever returned," said Scumdrop.

"Wait?" said Marcy, "We were gone for ten years, and in a span of a week you did this?"

"Well, "we hired Tim to plan all this," said Scumdrop, "ask him for more details, he's probably standing right behind me."

"How did you know that?" said the frog stepping out of the shadows surprised.

"You make a habit of being sneaky, I'm getting the feeling you do it a lot." said Scumdrop casually.

Tim looked at him for a second and shrugged, "true."

"So how did you do it?"

"I had planned how many people monsters and trap it would take to capture you, and keep you secure years ago."

"Why?"

"It's my hobby, sometimes I just like to estimate how many things I would need to commit a crime, It's like doing architecture in your head but not really benign to do it, You know what I mean?"

"Actually yes," said Marcy nodding, "I used to do it all the time before I came to Amphibia, Then I resigned Newtopia, I built three hospitals, a community Center, That donut shop down town."

"I love that shop," said the Curator.

"To get the discussion back on topic," said Scumdrop annoyed, "You should know that many want you dead, See-"

"We know," said Sasha, "other Amphibians want us dead, you have an army of them."

"Actually no, other people wanted you for…other less wholesome reasons."

The tent went quiet again.

"We're trying to murder them, what's less wholesome than that?" asked Mama Hassleback.

"Trust me, you don't want to know," said Tim shaking his head, "There are some real freaks out there."

"Okay…" said Scumdrop somewhat disturbed, before he smiled again, "Enjoy your last moments humans."

"You'll never get away with this," said Anne.

"Oh a cliché," said Scumdrop, "Come up with something original next time Monster."

"Okay, how about this, You're pathetic," replied Anne, "You've spent ten years planning revenge on when you could have done something better."

"I did do something better," replied Scumdrop bitterly, "I built up a criminal empire, I''m well known as the greatest smuggler in Amphibia, and yet there's one thing I cannot have."

"And that is?" replied Anne

"Peace of mind." replied Scumdrop quietly.

"Huh?" replied Anne.

"Every time I think of how rich I am, How powerful I am, I see you, I see the monster who ruined my life, the one who scared out of that town, the one who ruined my academic career, the one who caused me to hide in the shadows, the one who the world sees a hero instead of a monster who ruined the world."

Scumdrop walked up to Anne, "This, is not just revenge, this is my restoring the order to Amphibia."

Anne looked at him or a second, then snorted, which turned into a laugh.

"Oh frog," she said laughing, "You're like a bitter ex."

Scumdrop looked confused, "What? Stop…stop laughing."

"No, It's just… you're pathetic, Do you know what I did in the last ten years?"

"I don-"

"I graduated High-school, Went to college, graduated, for a doctorate, a PhD, and now I run and exhibit, and that's ignoring the fact that I saved Amphibia."

"Who cares I-"

"And do you want to know how many times I thought of you during that period for my life?"

The tent went deadly silent once again, Scumdrop stood there still, however in his eyes a look of terror appeared.

"Every day?"

"Twice, Once was yesterday when I realized just how badly I treated Max, and the other was when I saw a particularly ugly salamander."

Scumdrop went silent, "What?"

"In ten years I barely even thought about you, on the top ten threats I've ever faced you don't even rank, Sasha and Marcy rate higher than you," she turned to Sasha and Marcy, "No offense."

"None taken."

"Go off girl, we sucked."

"I moved the hell on, you doubled down on being a loser," said Anne.

"Shut up," said Scumdrop scared, starting to shake.

"Honestly, I thought you were pathetic before, but now, I just pity you."

The newt screamed, he pulled a knife from his cloak and leapt, in seconds Anne had a knife against her neck.

He glared at her, hated in his eyes, the desire to end her in a second.

She just looked back at him.

What Scumdrop saw scared him, it was not anger, not fear, no it was far crueler.

It was pity.

Scumdrop threw the knife to the ground, he turned and walked back, he picked up the bag containing Nicole, and threw it to Tim.

"Feed her to something horrible."

"NO," yelled Frog Marcy.

"I'LL KILL YOU," screamed Lucian.

"Scumdrop, don't this," Anne pleaded, "she's done nothing to you and-"

"BUT YOU DID!" screamed the newt, "You had the gall to forget about me. Well now you're going to see what that gets you."

The newt stormed out of the tent, everyone just looked at the entrance watching him walk off.

"Well, I've gotta kill a kid," said Tim somewhat casually, "What should we do about the others?"

"Well one of them is related to a council member so hostage," said the curator casually, "the other one… do you want another kid Mama?"

"Nah," said Mama Hassleback, "I deal with enough disappointment daily, you want him?"

"Well having an apprentice would be nice, How about it kid work for me?"

"I'd rather be eaten by a heron," replied Lucian.

"Heh, that can be arranged," said Curator.

The three frogs left, Nicole still trying to free herself from the bag.

Frog Marcy was crying, Lucian kept trying to free himself.

"Kids relax, it's going to be okay," said Sasha calmly.

"HOW?" cried Frog Marcy, "Nicole's going to be eaten."

"Not if we can save her," said Marcy reached for her head and removing a hair clip, "I think I can pick this lock."

"Really? Lock picking?" laughed Sasha.

"Sasha Waybright, Have you forgotten all my years of LARPing?" said Marcy proudly, "My first day as a thief I looked up how to pick all sorts of locks."

Placing the hair clip between her teeth she started to pick away at the lock.

Anne watching smiling, it was a forced one, but soon they'd be free and on their way home.

She just hoped Max was safe.

Max looked at the Kill-A-Moth enclosure and swallowed.

Inside that building were dozens of dangerous predators, on the way here Grime had explained in vivid details how many toads he knew had been killed by these beasts, from dismemberment, just being eaten alive.

With each story Max felt that his plan might have been a bad one.

"And there was a toad I knew who was so scared of a Kill-A-Moth he run in front of a train to avoid one." said Grime, standing as a part of the group about to go on the rescue mission.

"Grime, please stop telling your stories." snapped Yunan.

Max sighed in relief.

"Let me have a go, it's far gorier than anything you'd ever have."

Max whimpered.

"Maybe you could cut the down on the stories?" said Hop-Pop, "Besides our Kill-A-Moths are nice gentle creatures that wouldn't hurt a fly."

"Really, how safe?" asked Oum.

"They're just like Domino gentle sweet creatures that can act a little goofy."

"So…what your saying is that we're safe?" said Max trying to sound relived.

"WRONG!" shouted a voice from behind the group, they all turned to see Scroggy Joe standing there, the frog suddenly looked embarrassed, "The Kill-A-Moth's have been acting really weird, Heck it's like all the animals recently."

"So what you're saying is, This is really, really dangerous?" asked Max

"Yep, I'd hate to be you guys right now," said Scroggy Joe.

"Can you help us?" asked Polly.

"No, I have to go and join the mob," said Joe excited, "It's been so long, I still have my pitchfork somewhere in my closest."

With that Joe ran off giggling like a Polliwog.

Turning away Max looked at the two giant doors, They had to go in there and get these monsters to help him, he swallowed and took a step forward.

"Max, we could just go and join the mob," said Bee, "If you want I can go and-

Before Bee could finish Max pushed on the doors to the enclosure, they swung open easily.

The inside was dark, Max could see nothing except for the occasional moving shadow, he could hear a hiss from somewhere.

He knew that this was dangerous.

A part of him wanted to go back.

Only one thing stopped him from going back.

The memory of his friends.

They were in danger right now, and the town needed all the help it could get in rescuing them.

He kept walking, the other behind him kept quiet, hoping that he would be fine.

After a minute of walking he was in the middle of the enclosure.

The fact that he was still alive was a positive to him.

He stood there waiting for something to happen, maybe he needed to say something.

"Um, Here Kitty?"

There was a loud slam as something dropped behind him, He turned to see one of the Kill-A-Moths behind him.

It was the size of a bus, Its fur was black, it had a scar across its left eyes, Max looked down and saw its claws, massive sharp things that would leave him shredded.

It was looking at him like he was a giant wingless canary.

"Um, Nice kitty.

The Kill-A-Moth growled at him.

Without any more urging Max turned away and ran, he could see from the entrance Grime and Yunan were running up to get him out of there.

However, in his confusion he tripped, he turned to see the Kill-A-Moth flying towards him, he closed his eyes, he did care if it wasn't brave he was going to die.

He just hoped being eaten would be better than drowning.

So he waited

And waited

And waited.

Wondering why his death was taking too long he opened his eyes, the giant cat was in front of him glaring hatefully,

He looked behind him and saw the rest of the rescue mission standing there looking shocked at Max's continual survival.

Max turned back to the cat and then noticed that it wasn't looking at him, its eyes were facing downwards.

Looking down Max could see what was keeping him still alive.

It was a small white kitten, it briefly turned to face Max, he saw around its right eye.

"You, what are you?"

The bigger Kill-A-Moth hissed at him, Max closed his eyes, However the small larva hissed back.

A shadow fell over Max, something bigger was behind him, he turned to see Domino standing there glaring at the other Kill-A-Moth.

The monsters just looked at Domino and slunk back.

Max without any prompting stood up and looked at Domino.

"Um…thanks?"

He felt something nuzzling around his leg, looking down Max saw that the kitten and rubbing itself against him.

"Thanks as well."

The kitten looked at Max, it's eyes wide with curiosity, for a brief moment Max thought maybe it wasn't so bad.

That's when the kitten leapt at him, Max screamed as it crawled around him, he could feel something sticky on his chest, then it stopped crawling.

Max stood still for a second then looked down, the kitten had lying on his stomach in a web papoose.

Max just stood there looking confused.

"MAX!" cried a voice, he turned to see the rescue party rushing up to him, Sprig reached him first, "Are you okay?"

"I think so, this kitten it's stuck to me and-"

"Hey, maybe it has something to do with it being alpha?" said Sprig

Max looked at Sprig confused, "What?"

"Back during the war we were able to get the Kill-A-Moths on our side because Anne looked after an Alpha Kill-A-Moth, maybe this larva is a future alpha?"

Max looked at the time thing, it was more of a runt than anything else.

"Or maybe it's just Domino's baby, and she'd murder anything that hurt that." suggest Yunan, "I can understand that."

Oum nodded at that.

"Well what are we waiting for?" said Max, "Let's go save the day."

Each of the rescue party started to pick a Kill-A-Moth, Mr Boonchuy had gone after the big monster that had almost bitten Max's head off. Max rushed to warn him, the boy was shocked when the monster's was lowered it's head, its eyes closed and was giving a contented purring sound. As Max got closer he saw that the older man was scratching the monster beneath its chin.

"How did you do that?" asked Max shocked.

"Eh we used to have a cat," said Bee nonchalantly, "I know how to please a kitty."

Max stared at him, "So you're telling me that you could have dealt with this? And I could have just stayed back and not almost get eaten?"

Bee nodded "I tried to tell you, but you just walked in there before I could do anything."

Max just stood there blinking for a few seconds, took a deep breath then exhaled, "Okay, you know what I'm just going to get my cat and try to forget this all happened."

As he turned he saw a familiar shape near where the young kitten were kept, it was a shell covered in kittens, on the shell was a large band-aid.

Max turned to Hop-Pop who Polly and Sprig were helping onto a light brown and cream covered Kill-A-Moth

"Hop-Pop," said Max pointing to the shell, "Is that Micro-Angelo?"

The old frog turned to look at where Max was pointing and nodded, "Yeah that's him, We brought him here because the Kill-A-Pillers calm him down. They have that effect on everyone."

Max stood there for a few seconds, "I know I said we have to go but…I need to see him."

Hop-Pop nodded, "Sure, It'll give me some more time to get reacquainted with Lenny Longbottom."

Max walked over and stood in front of the shell, he could hear the gentle purring of the Kill-A-Pillers.

"Um," said Max awkwardly, "Hi Micro-Angelo."

An eye slid out from underneath the shell, it took one good look at Max then quickly slid back under.

"Yeah, I deserve that," said Max rubbing his arm, he sat down across from the snail.

"I'm sorry, I to…stole you because I was scared, I wanted to run, but I didn't know how dangerous it was, I get if you never want to see me again."

Max stood up "I just want you to know, I'm sorry, and I hope one day you'll forgive me."

He turned and walked away from the snail, he didn't see the eye stalk peer underneath its shell.

He saw Domino 2 sitting there waiting for him, He was going to have to fly again hopefully it wouldn't be as bad as Jillian, He looked at the others, he saw they were all with their own Kill-A-Moths.

Only Yunan wasn't riding one, she was holding the reins of a sparrow.

"I'm sticking to Joe here, I still don't trust those creatures, even if they are adorable."

Max climbed onto Domino he looked down at the Larva in its sling looking at him expectantly.

"Okay, let's go."

There was the noise of loud thumping as Domino flapped her wings, slowly she started to rise off the ground, Max helped on tighter, sudden they were up, Domino flew up and around the enclosure, from above Max could see the other Kill-A-Moths taking up. Then Domino 2 dove towards the enclosure entrance, Max held on tightly and closed his eyes.

When he opened them again he saw he was outside the enclosure, and high in the sky above Amphibia.

A part of him looked down and saw the dark forests below, the only illumination came from the few towns in the valley.

It was beautiful.

He took hold of Domino's neck and pointed her in the direction of the camp.

Looking back he could see the others flying on their own Kill-A-Moths.

This was it, they had to get to the camp and save their friends.

A brief thought of panic stuck Max then, what would happen if it went wrong, what if the others were already dead.

He closed his eyes yet again, No he couldn't do that, he needed to stay brave.

Determined he looked ahead, ready to face his destiny.

He pointed Domino in the direction of the circus, the others followed.

None of them saw that below them, a snail covered in Kill-A-Pillers followed.
