Prologue

Our story begins in New York City, the fashion capital of the world. Around 7 million people call this blazing and busy city home, and everyone enjoyed it. It was nighttime and the buildings lit up the night as they usually did, it was so quiet and peaceful, well, not really peaceful. Below the city, deep in the tunnels of New York's sewers, where the repetitive drips of water could be heard, there was a big puddle on the ground, but then a foot stomped onto it, causing sewer water to fly. A figure was running as fast as they could through the tunnels, heavy pants were heard as they kept running. Finally, when they turned a corner, the figure stopped for a moment, panting heavily catching its breath. Slowly, they looked back down the tunnels making sure no one was following them, they started to walk down the tunnel they were in, trying to find a place to stay in the sewers.

Meanwhile, deep in the sewers, there was a small home in the sewers that belonged to four turtle brothers and their dad who was a rat. Splinter, which was his name, was currently sitting on the chair in the living room waiting for his sons to come back from shopping. He was also a little worried about them running into any humans of the world above them. You see, Splinter has opinions about humans, he doesn't think they're good at all after he had an encounter with them 15 years ago. He sighed, just thinking about them made him uncomfortable, but then, he heard footsteps coming towards the lair.

Splinter looks up and smiles, "Boys, your back! How was shopping, were you able to-" But Splinter stops mid-sentence when he sees that it was not his sons, but sees the silhouette of one person, thinking it was a human. Nervous, he gets up from the chair and backs away.

"Get back. Don't come near me, I will bite." He warns the stranger as he holds up his hands in a fighting position. But much to Splinter's surprise, the stranger backs away more into the shadows.

"I-I'm sorry sir! Please, I mean no harm! I'm j-just lost...!" The stranger spoke in a scared and quiet voice. From the tone of their voice, the stranger sounded like a girl. Splinter lowers his stance, a little surprised that a human was sorry for trespassing into their home, but when he looked a little closer at her shadow, it didn't look...human.

"Can you step out so I can see you?" Splinter asked. The stranger was hesitant but slowly walked out of the shadows and what Splinter saw was a complete shock to him. The mysterious girl was a mutant lizard...a mutant, just like him and his sons. The girl had minty green skin and she looked to be around the same height as his son Donnie. Her chocolate brown hair was tangly and messy, her clothes were a little torn up, and her eyes were filled with fear since her black pupils were super straight.

"P-please sir...I-I don't want a-any trouble..." The girl whimpered, shaking with fear. Splinter looked at her with empathy, he felt sympathetic for her even though he didn't know her. But he could tell she has been through a lot.

"You don't have to be afraid, I won't hurt you. Are you hungry?" He asked her. The girl looked at Splinter surprised that he was being so kind to her but nodded.

"I have some pizza for you if you like pizza."

"I-I do." She spoke softly. Splinter smiles and grabs a pizza box sitting on the table and hands it to her. She takes the box and opens it up before grabbing a slice and starting to eat. She eats about 3 slices before setting the box down and replies, "Thank you for the food sir."

"Please, call me Splinter." Splinter smiles, but then a question lingered in his mind.

"If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?"

"Kaitlyn but everyone calls me Katie."

"Do you have anywhere to stay Kaitlyn?" Splinter asked.

Katie looks down sadly and shakes her head, "No. I don't actually..."

Splinter looks at her a little surprised, this poor girl didn't have anywhere to stay. But did make sense a little bit, if she went up to the human world, people would freak out and try to kill her, so he made his mind up.

"You can stay here in our home if you wanted." Katie looks at him shocked.

"R-Really? You mean it, but are you sure?" Katie asked, a little unsure if she should stay.

"Yes, I am sure. You can stay here as long as you like. Besides, I think my sons would love to be around someone like them." Splinter replies.

"You have sons?" Katie asked surprised. But at that moment, four turtle brothers walked into the lair, carrying groceries with them.

"Dad we're back! We got every-" They stopped mid-sentence to see Katie standing by their dad. Katie looked at the group, they were mutant turtles, but they were also teenagers like her. They all wore bands on their wrists and knees, but they were different colors like blue, red, purple, and orange. They also had belts around their waist with a letter in the middle which was the start of their first name. The first turtle had a blue mask around his face and he had two twin katanas on his back. The second one had a red mask which went over his head, he had a few scratches on his shell and was missing a tooth, he also had twin sais in his belt. The third turtle wore a purple mask and also wore glasses, he had a pair of headphones around his neck and a satchel on his waist, and on his back was a bo-staff. The last turtle wore an orange mask and inside he wore braces on his mouth and he had twin nun chucks in his belt. The four brothers stared in shock at Katie since she was a mutant like them.

"These are my sons I told you about. Boys, this is Kaitlyn."

"She's a mutant, like us!" The purple one exclaimed while holding his head.

"I though we were the only mutants in town. But I guess were not, this is amazing!" The red one said with a grin.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! This is awesome, we have a new friend, it is so nice to meet you!" The orange one smiles as Katie giggles.

"Yeah, it's nice to meet you too." She smiles. But she looks at the blue one who hasn't said anything yet. He was just staring at her, his eyes were sparkling as he looked at her, she looked...beautiful. Katie was a little confused why he was staring at her.

"Um, hello." She waved with a small smile.

"O-Oh u-um h-hello." He replied back all stuttering.

"Boys, why don't you introduce yourselves to our guest," Splinter spoke.

"Oh, y-yeah...I'm Leo, and these are brothers, Raph, Donnie and Mikey."

"What's up?" Raph nodded while crossing his arms.

"Hey there." Donnie spoke.

"Wassup?" Mikey grinned which makes Katie giggle.

"Kaitlyn is going to be staying with us for a while. She's our guest, so treat her respectfully."

"She's gonna be staying here with us?" Everyone asked.

"That's great! I've always wanted a sister!" Mikey smiles.

Leo smiles big. "T-That's great. I'm glad you're staying with us."

"Thanks Leo." Katie smiles which causes Leo to blush. His brothers oo and smirk at the scene in front of them. But Katie has something important, a new home.
