AN: So freaking stumped and so very busy. Also, so very sorry for being... late (a whole new word should be invented so that I can really encompass, in writing, how abismally late I am). Without further ado...

Wait! Is this chap. gonna have my first ever OC in it? I think so! :D

Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans in any of its many, many versions.

"Evelyn, wasn't it? The new girlfriend's name?" Argent asked her fellow Titans Northers. Her eyes dwelt on Kole more than they did on anyone else at the table.

Kole stabbed an egg with a little more force than was necessary. "I'm fine. Me and Jericho seemed right for each other, but we weren't." Not that her kind disposition would ever let her find fault with anything he did. Forgiving by nature, Kole strove to forgive the worst and seldom judge anyone. Instead, she would take precious lengths to cover any visible faults with totally believable excuses that the people in question would never know had been given for them.

That so, Kole found it somehow more difficult to forgive Jericho's new girlfriend for... existing within ten feet of him. She struggled to not actively search for a weakness of Evelyn's to exploit, for something terrible about her to whisper.

Later, Jericho sat opposite her and signed, "Evelyn really likes you. I talk about you a little, because Evelyn is naturally curious about you."

Kole bitterly thought, She only likes me because I lost. But PERISH the thought! "I'm glad she likes me, from what she's heard! Do you think we could meet sometime?"

"Yes! In fact, she asked me to ask you if you wanted to meet at the Point tonight. I'll be there too, but you know how distracted I get, because of the view. Do you remember how awesome the city looked from the watcher's balcony?"

I remember seeing you out of uniform for the first time, and how awesome that had been. Fleetingly, Kole presumed that Evelyn might have chosen the Point to make a statement. It had been her and Jericho's favorite place to be alone: perhaps Evelyn knew its significance. Kole would be off her game there, reminiscing half the time and grieving the other.

Despite her misgivings, which she supressed, Kole agreed to finally see Evelyn face-to-face that very same day.

"We'll walk there together." It was decided.

Kole changed clothes, taking care to look just average in a dress shirt and blue jeans. She and Jericho strolled down Main Street side-by-side, but one hardly glanced at the other.

Evelyn met them outside the front doors, and waved. "I'm so glad you came!" she told Kole.

Kole only nodded. "I mostly came for the view." You must have come to make me jealous, which I can't afford to be. Jericho loves you, Evelyn. I can tell by his expression that there is nothing for you to worry about. That was true. Jericho directed loving gazes at his current girlfriend that mirrored, but imperfectly, the ones he once had showered Kole with, when she had barely valued them at all.

"Oh." Evelyn planted her hands on her hips, quipping, "That's kind of a harsh thing to say. C'mon, let's go see your VIEW then."

"I'm sorry, but this was where Jericho took me on our first date, so-"

"You should have chosen a place more neutral," Jericho subtly reprimanded.

Without excuse, Evelyn grabbed his elbow and jerked him toward the elevator, but Jericho broke the contact. He signed while Evelyn burst out, "I don't even like this place! Did you know that some guy committed suicide by jumping off the watcher's balcony?"

"No, and I'm sorry-"

"You know, Kole, you aren't the one who should be sorry. Jericho over there still likes you, or so I've HEARD, because he talks about KOLE all the time." She addressed Kole more directly, saying, "He will compare ME to YOU all the time. That's actually why I wanted to... meet you," Evelyn croaked, "I only wanted to meet this... perfect angel! The IDEAL girlfriend, which I'm not! I mean, you're kinda snippy right now, but I would be too if my ex's new flame took me to...to the place where me and him fell in love. I chose this place to test you, but I only tested myself."

"I'm sorry..."

"I said it's not your fault." Evelyn huffed, and wiped her tears. "And stop signing, Jericho. I'm not paying attention. Also..." A fresh stream of tears wet her cheeks. She whispered, "I'm done. No more."

Jericho nodded eagerly. "Whatever you want."

"So you'll forget Kole and start loving me instead? You'll talk about ME for a change, and approve of the things I do?" She heard his answer, which he had yet to give, in her head, and responded, "No? I didn't think so."

Kole wanted to tell Evelyn how happy she was to have met her at last, and did.

Evelyn smiled a sad little smile before she bid shell-shocked Jericho a final adieu. She left in worse spirits than she had come, but that goes withough saying.

Jericho and Kole didn't speak of her or her tear-filled goodbye on the elevator, in the hall, or on the watcher's balcony. They peered down and observed that people on the street moved very slowly; they and their problems seemed microscopic to the watchers perched thousands of feet above them.

Jericho forgot the breakup, rather both of them, and laid his hand on the railing. A small, warm hand conveniently occupied the plane between his fingers and the cool metal railing.

Of course, Kole misinterpreted this sweet gesture.

AN: The ending is kinda bittersweet, but I think that's okay.

Did you like it? I hid some easter eggs in there for ya, some COMIC easter eggs even!

Evelyn, for example, is loosely based on DC Rebirth Jericho's fiancé Etienne, who is also his ASL interpreter. I know close to nothing about Etienne's character or her personality, except that she somehow betrays Jericho or the Titans or both (dunno). For most of this drabble's development, Evelyn was set to PUSH KOLE OFF THE POINT'S BALCONY. Dark, eh? I thought it would tie in with Ettiene's betrayal, but I thought better of it. Also, if you read the Wiki, it is alleged that Etienne actually loved Jericho. That makes heartbroken Evelyn a pretty faithful interpretation of Etienne's character.

As for the man who committed suicide by jumping, he is also a reference to DC Rebirth. In Rebirth, Jericho is, as you may already know, bisexual. The jumping man represents a former male lover of Jericho's named Dr. David Isherwood. Upon hearing of Jericho's engagement to a woman, Dr. Isherwood confronts Jericho about his sexuality and says that he strongly disapproves of his impending marriage. In response, Jericho possesses the doctor and sends him careening off a tall building TO HIS DEATH. The hero, ladies and gentlemen! From that day onward, Jericho is plagued by guilt-induced migraines and visions of Dr. Isherwood. And that's canon!

There! Wasn't that morbid?
