Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans.

AN: I have been very busy lately. Regardless, I've decided that I want to complete my in-progress stories before I begin any new ones. I may even update my profile to show you how many chapters are left for each story. Since I've been gone so long, I doubt anyone is watching, but it will give me a feeling of accomplishment with every update.

Thanks for clicking! Hope you like this chapter.

Jericho's primary emotions are these: Love, Innocence, Sadness, Rage, Courage, Intelligence, and Happiness.

In Argent and Kole's absence, Raven had become the fourth member of the Titans North. During her brief stay, her male teammates erred fatally to enter her room while she toured the Tower by herself. Raven felt chaos erupt from the room the second her mirror cracked. Rage's presence filled the Tower but settled on a single target: Jericho. What compelled Rage to possess the possessor of many mortal men, Raven did not know.

Some things Raven quickly learned about Jericho.

First, that his emotions were color-coded like hers. His Happiness wore a sky blue tunic, and his Intelligence sported a crisp white collared shirt beneath his yellow tunic. Jericho's colors varied from red to purple. Red adorning the color of Love, and purple being the color worn by a strangely younger version of Jericho.

Second, that his emotions wielded the same possession ability as Jericho. To her and Hot Spot's astonishment, Happiness and Intelligence possessed one another at once and morphed into Confidence. He laughed easily and had faith that Jericho would become whole before day's end.

They could all speak, Raven thought, although some preferred the silence. Maybe some were mute, but Raven couldn't guess how. Everyone has an inner monologue, a soothing or scolding voice in their head.

And two emotions looked like Jericho, but very unlike him in the same breath. His Courage had blue eyes, for example. His Innocence looked much too young to be sixteen. Jericho's Courage kept very quiet. The younger Jericho stuck with him like glue, but they refused to possess each other.

"I don't want to," said one to the other-Courage to Innocence.

Shortly after Courage and Innocence's refusal to merge, Argent and Kole returned home from Jump City. They were victorious, and so, so tired.

"Blackfire was such a pain," whined Argent. "I wish I'd stayed here and not had to deal with..."

Four pairs of stunning green eyes met hers.

"That is unnerving. Were you cloned, dear? Can it be reversed?"

"No," said Confidence, grinning ear to ear. "Yes."

"Upon my land and acreage! You could talk all along! Our whole friendship is predicated upon a lie!"

Confidence winced, biting his tongue.

Kole asked, "How did this happen? Is Jericho okay?"

A well-groomed version of Jericho sauntered to her. Eyes half-closed, the young man purred, "I love that you're so worried about me."

"Down, lover-boy." The Herald tugged on his red dress shirt. "Why don't we end all this confusion right now? Merge with one of the others."

"What if I don't want to be sad anymore? Or angry anymore? Or Regret? There's no going back then." Love lamented, "Like there ever was. There are some things that you don't need to know, and that I don't want to remember."

The Herald clenched his teeth. "I don't want your life's story. I want my friend back," he growled.

Love turned to the Herald and studied his eyes.

"They're the window to the soul, you know. Through them, I can see that you love your friend. You want Jericho back like I do, and that will only happen if I stop being...ridiculous and selfish. I'm not supposed to be selfish. Love is patient, kind, not proud, not puffed up."

Kole frowned. She had no clue what was happening, or how Jericho could be in two places at once.

"Because you're Love?"

Love grinned dashingly. "Jericho's Love."

"But how did you get separated from the rest of Jericho?"

Confidence stepped in with an explanation. "When we were in Raven's room earlier, we broke a mirror. When it shattered, Jericho, all of us, felt something darker than the black rip us apart."

Hot Spot air-quoted, "'The black?' What does that mean? I feel like I hardly know you anymore."

Confidence clarified, "The black that encircles his eyes when he possesses someone."

"Possess someone!" the Herald ordered. "You can't live like this forever! It's not healthy. You need to keep it together."

Confidence said, "We manifested together, but not as Jericho. Lately, some of us have been at odds, which is why some of us don't want to share characteristics anymore. If we possess each other, we become just like each other, good and bad."

Love weighed those words. Finding them true, he approached Sadness.

Sadness turned his doe eyes upon Love and wiped his nose on a green sleeve. His whole costume was green, but not lively, the color of withering leaves. What he had been crying about was a mystery to his friends, but not to Love.

"Tired of being you all the time?"

"Very tired..." whined Sadness

"Then let's be you together."

Jericho's Love and Sadness combined into Regret. He slumped into a corner.

Confidence would have none of that.

"I hate to see you so down on yourself, Regret. We all know it wasn't our fault that..." Confidence faltered. The room brimmed with allies, but Confidence still wanted to protect Jericho's secrets. "That the very unfortunate thing happened."

Regret's eyes filled with tears. "He's still gone."

Raven thought perhaps if she could put this tangle of frustrated emotions at ease, Jericho could form again.

"Who's gone?" She reached to touch the crown of Regret's head. If she could just read his mind! "I can help you find him-"

Confidence stilled her hand. "He's with us, Raven. He always will be. He's never really gone. Thought Love would know that already."

"We can't know anything without Intel. Thought you would know that."

"We do need each other. Don't we?"

"Right."

"But we aren't the ones that really need to come together." Confidence's gaze slid to Innocence and Courage.

Courage glared. He watched Confidence and Regret morph into boring Melancholy, and he felt mostly indifferent. Except that meant they would ask him, Rage, or Innocence to join them next. Truthfully, Courage wished that his time apart from Rage and Sadness would never end.

"Joe."

The little boy turned his face up to look at Courage.

"I don't run from my problems." He indicated toward Melancholy with a wave of his hand. "That's a problem. How can we set things right with a hero as boring as Melancholy? No. We need Jericho."

Innocence pouted back at him.

"I know you don't want to see me go, but..." Courage didn't have the heart to finish.

Innocence hugged Courage's middle.

"I thought you'd understand, lil' brother."

Unexpectedly, Courage's face melted away, replaced by Jericho's own. It was his true face, not the brave mask he preferred.

"Boo."

Argent grimaced at Hot Spot, who looked ready to hurl.

"Gone again..." drawled Melancholy. After heaving a very long sigh, he said, "Guess it's hero time... or something. I don't care."

Courage, with round green eyes, made eye contact with Melancholy and joined their troop. His army getup and orange combat boots disintegrated instantly.

Meanwhile, Innocence tiptoed toward Rage, who stood a fair distance from the other emotions. One didn't shrink away from the other. Not when Innocence's eyes blackened. Not when red peeked through Rage's orange shirt collar. They had one singular goal: reform Jericho.

When Raven and Kole saw small hands reach up toward Rage's bloodied neck, they both screamed, "Stop!"

Mute Jericho emerged, purple uniform on and blood gone. Jericho looked so identical to himself that the Herald took a double-take.

"Are you back?"

The other emotions jumped into Jericho's body, and he became whole again.

Jericho gauged the reactions. Argent looked appalled. Hot Spot looked distressed. The Herald looked relieved. Kole looked very confused, the same as Raven.

He spread his arms and performed jazz hands. "Ta-da."

"Surreal..." whispered Argent.

"Yes," Raven and most of the room agreed.

The Herald caught Jericho up in a bear hug, which Kole joined immediately.

"I'm so glad you're okay," she said. Jericho detected sincerity in her voice.

"I'm fine," he told everyone.

Kole blindsided him with a question. "Is the little boy fine? The orange one was really bloody and scary. He didn't hurt the boy, did he?"

Feeling ashamed, Jericho answered, "No." He hoped she wouldn't keep digging.

"Was he you from when you were little?"

"Yes."

"He was adorable! Why did you ever grow up?"
