Hi! Here's chapter 3! I'm excited for doing this, I really am. I hope the chapter is good and enjoyable, I hope that you understand what I'm writing, but sorry for any mistake as I tried to do my best. Thank you for the responses I received, they mean a lot as I suppose the story is good, but if you want to leave a comment or question feel free to do it, I appreciate everything!

I guess that in the last chapter I left you wondering about Damon and Caroline's interaction, so here's an explanation. Their relationship in the first season, especially the first episodes, was really terrible so it was hard to come up with something for them during that time. I will show more of their dinamic and what I did with them in this chapter, I hope it's good and logical. Enjoy this chapter!

The characters and the plot are property of Julie Plec and the tv show team, I own the characters I created and the changes I made in the story.

Normal POV

The first thing that Caroline felt when she woke up was heaviness in her body, she sat up on what she thought was a couch and her eyes got used to the light coming in through the window. She was wondering what had happened when she felt a slight twinge in her neck and memories of that morning flashed into her mind, and with them the culprit of her "blackout", Damon.

When she felt better she stood up to see if that idiot was there and realized she was alone in her living room. Using her vampiric hearing she heard noises in her kitchen, so she went there wondering what to do with him first, whether to hit him or interrogate him.

-Good morning little sis- Damon greeted as soon as he heard the blonde enter the kitchen where he was about to pour himself a coffee. Knowing her he knew that she was going to be angry, but he didn't expect to end up against the wall with the heretic's hand on his throat.

-Don't pretend innocence Damon, I know what you did- his sister complained irritated after having approached him with vampiric speed. The truth is that she wasn't upset at all because he had broken her neck, but because she now believed that Damon had only visited her for convenience and not because he wanted to act like any normal brother with her.

-It looks like you got into a bad mood after getting some sleep. Did you have a bad dream?- the older one asked humorously in an attempt to calm her down even though the blonde was choking him.

-You mean when you snapped my neck?- replied Caroline sarcastically, his questions trying to avoid the topic only got her more irritated than she already was- Now tell me, why the hell did you do it?- she finally exposed with a little confusion her doubts to the vampire.

-Let me go and I'll tell you, I can't talk with a hand on my throat- he asked her in exchange for an explanation, what she did after thinking about it for a moment while Damon started coughing- Thank you- he said ironically touching his throat, the little girl did have strenght.

-Yeah, whatever. Now talk or we'll go back to that position until you speak- the heretic demanded a bit threateningly, heading to the coffee pot for a cup of coffee and then to the kitchen table, while Damon sat with her after pouring himself coffee equally.

-Well, I snapped your neck because I was angry. You met with Stefan without me, for sure several times. And you helped him ruin my fun with the girl from the hospital- he lied thinking it was a good excuse, apart from the fact that he took the opportunity to get something in case that she refused to help him.

-That reason is terrible. Did you hit your head over the years? That would explain why you're less smart- mocked the young girl without caring about being hurtful, but she couldn't help being honest when she got angry at someone and her brothers, although she loved them, were no exception.

-There's no need to be so aggressive little sis. You know I'm really impulsive when I get angry- Damon defended himself calmly despite the murderous looks that he was receiving.

-It didn't occur to you to, I don't know, just come and see me like a normal person? Or don't you know what that is?- replied the girl sarcastically. Sometimes she didn't understand how Damon's mind worked.

-I repeat it, I was upset because you were attached to our dear brother Stefan and I thought you had left me aside- the vampire insinuated trying to soften the heretic so she wouldn't be so angry with him, but it didn't seem to be working.

-I'm talking to him because, like with you, we're family and we needed to talk. I wanted to talk to you too, but these days you're just being a jerk to me- she clarified irritated looking at him.

-I missed you blondie, snapping your neck doesn't mean I didn't miss you because I did- Damon revealed trying to make her leave her anger against him aside- But let's get to the point, I wanted to see you because I want your help- he asked going straight to the topic of importance.

-I knew it, you just need my help. And in what this time?- the blonde questioned with a bitter tone, not surprised by his request. Most of the times they had seen each other in those years the older one had gone to see her because he needed a favor, like a spell or help with a problem.

-I'll tell you later, for now I just want you to promise to help me as soon as I tell you- he clarified without flinching at her tone and without specifying anything, the less she knew the better. Besides, there was the possibility that she would tell Stefan and he still couldn't know about his plan.

-Just that? My help when you tell me?- Caroline tried to make sure without believing that he wanted her help but he didn't want to tell her anything, and the guy nodded- Ok I'll help you if you don't break my neck again- she offered more calmly while she drank her coffee.

-Done. But one more thing, I don't want you to tell Stefan about any of this. If he asks you anything, tell him we are just meeting to talk like good siblings- her brother warned her, and even though her instinct told her it wasn't a good idea she accepted the vampire's deal.

At school, Bonnie was talking to Elena about the weird feeling she'd had when she had touched Stefan the night before. She didn't want to believe it was that thing about being a witch that her grams kept telling her, so she just wanted to believe that she was worried about Elena's new boyfriend and her like any friend would. But that didn't stop her from going somewhere else as soon as Stefan arrived at school and came over to greet Elena and her.

-I think she doesn't like me, does she?- Stefan guessed as he watched the girl quickly leave.

-No, she doesn't know you. She's my best friend, she's just looking out for me. But when she does, she will love you- said the brunette girl after trying to call her friend to come back with them.

-Do you really think so?- the older guy asked humorously, starting to walk with her through the schoolyard, not seeing that Tyler was with Matt and some friends playing with a ball.

-Yes. We have to do this today. Are you free today?- asked Elena stopping walking and the other nodded- Perfect. Dinner at my house at 8, you, me and Bonnie. You'll spend some time together and she will see what a great guy you are. Mission accomplished- she explained, smiling a little excitedly as she hoped that her best friend and her new boyfriend would get along.

-I think that sounds like a great idea- the vampire agreed smiling. As he was turning his back to them, neither he nor Elena noticed Tyler took the ball before Matt and walked a bit to throw it at Stefan. But to everyone's surprise Stefan instantly turned around because of his vampiric reflexes and caught the ball in the air, then threw it at Tyler with his supernatural strength which almost knocked the boy to the ground and surprised everyone but Caroline.

Caroline had arrived at school and had seen everything, and couldn't help but laugh. Stefan was getting Tyler a taste of his own medicine and she wanted to have some fun too, so with some magic she made the boy fall down in front of some girls that laughed at him and he ended up embarrased. The girl was going to approach Stefan to talk to him and distract herself but she saw him enter to school with Elena, so she decided to tell him about Damon later.

After entering school, Elena tried to convince Stefan to try out for the school football team, but Stefan didn't think it was a good idea because of Tyler and Matt, who were part of the team and they didn't seem to like him because of the ball accident in the morning.

Later Stefan asked to try out for the team and Elena, who was with Bonnie outside, had decided to go back to the cheerleading squad. After her talk with Stefan she'd thought about giving pom-poms another try, before the accident she liked cheerleading and now she wanted to take it up again. She just hoped that Caroline, Stefan's sister who was also the captain, would let her return to the team even though she had quit. And speaking of the blonde girl, out of nowhere she arrived at practice in a car with her brother Damon.

-Oh my God. Is that the mystery guy she said she saw at the Grill?- Bonnie wondered as they turned around and saw the girl getting out of the car with her purse and talk to him.

-That's not a mystery guy. That's Damon Salvatore- Elena clarified as they got up from the ground where they were warming up to start the practice.

-Salvatore? Like Stefan?- her friend wanted to know, surprised that there was another Salvatore.

-Yeah, and like Caroline. That's her other brother Damon- the brunette told her. They'd both been surprised to learn that the blonde girl had a brother they had never heard of, but Matt was closer friends with her than they were so they hardly knew about her private life. The blonde headed to practice after saying goodbye to Damon, who had taken her to get her bag.

-That's my other brother. Don't check him out- the heretic warned as she walked past them and saw the looks they were giving Damon, irritating both girls, and began to lead the practice.

The blonde couldn't believe Elena was back on the team, but she was willing to give her another chance. That feeling of trying to do something nice for the brunette girl because maybe she was already her brother's girlfriend, even if she didn't like that to be true, was leaving her after she saw what she was doing with her perfect routine.

-Elena, why don't you stay on the side today? So you can catch up with the routine- Caroline asked her from the front trying to gently pull her out of the formation, she'd rather take care of her team than the feelings of someone she hardly cared about.

Meanwhile, Stefan was playing football on the field near the cheerleaders and was showing that he was very good, much to Tyler's jealousy who suggested Matt to hurt him when they were playing, not knowing that Stefan was eavesdropping on their conversation. They were playing when Matt threw the ball for the vampire to catch, but Tyler tackled him and Stefan made everyone think he was fine. But from the fall he had broken his finger, so he put it back in place to heal.

After practice Stefan went back to the mansion hoping to see his brother to talk to him. After taking a shower, he went into his room and found Damon reading his diary, so he looked at him seriously after stopping at the door.

-How were tryouts? Did you get accepted? Very Emerson, how you reveal your soul with so many adjectives- Damon mocked looking at him with the diary in his hand without caring about his seriousness.

-What are you doing here?- Stefan questioned him, while approaching the older guy and taking his diary from him.

-I came to apologize. I've been thinking, reflecting and... Let's start over, let's put the past behind us. You're my little brother, if you want to have a normal human life just like Caroline, I want that too. I think I could. I could learn to be an undead who lives a normal life like you. Maybe there is hope for all three of us- expressed the older vampire as he stood up and looked at him firmly, until he started laughing and walked to the door.

-You know, it doesn't have to be this way Damon, we can help you- offered the younger trying not to get angry with his brother as he turned around to look him in the face.

-Of course it doesn't. I saw Elena today, by the way, at the cheerleading practice and she looked so pretty dressed as a cheerleader. Relax, I didn't go near her, maybe Caroline could introduce me to one of her friends- he commented teasingly while smiling at him.

-Speaking of Caroline, I hope you are careful with her. You know how she is when she gets angry- Stefan reminded him, crossing his arms. The blonde girl wasn't really friendly when she was in a bad mood.

-I won't do anything bad to her. She's my little sister just like you. I forgot, I have things to do, see you- said Damon leaving the room and the house.

That night Stefan went to dinner at the Gilbert house with Elena and Bonnie, he thought the girl had a weird feeling about him so he wanted them to get along and maybe be friends because of Elena. He tried to talk to Bonnie about the younger girl's family, he thought it was a good topic to talk about as he knew a little about witches because of his own family, mostly because of his sister, but then the door bell rang and he was surprised to see his siblings at the door.

-Hi, we heard about the dinner and we wanted to meet our brother's new friend- greeted with a smile Damon looking at his brother- Right Caroline?- then he pushed the blonde girl's arm.

-Yeah. Damon wanted to officially meet you. Bonnie said you would have dinner together so he insisted on bringing dessert- added Caroline with a fake smile, which Stefan could notice. She was going to rest that night because she couldn't meet Bonnie for a project they had together since Bonnie was going to have dinner with Elena, but Damon insisted that they go to that dinner.

-We hope you don't mind- Damon said knowing that Elena was going to let them go in.

-What are you two doing here?- Stefan questioned them, standing next to the brunette girl and wanting to know the intentions of the other two vampires, especially of his older brother.

-We are waiting for Elena to invite us in to meet her- the vampire answered with a challenging look at the other. She was about to let them in but Stefan interrupted her.

-No. They can't stay, right?- he insinuated looking at them and waiting for them to leave, besides he hoped that his sister would put some sense into Damon.

-It's okay, we can go now and we'll meet another day with planning- affirmed the heretic hoping they could leave, receiving a grateful look from the vampire inside the house. But then Elena let them in and the five of them sat down in the living room.

-I heard you got into the football team Stefan, I'm happy for you. I saw you while I was leading the cheerleading practice and you're doing great- Caroline congratulated him, looking at him with a smile that he returned. He was a bit grateful that at least she was there, she could help him with Damon.

-Thank you Caroline. I saw you too, I didn't know you were the captain of the cheerleaders- commented the older guy while sitting next to Elena, who wasn't really happy about the blonde girl's visit.

-Yes, I'm the captain although I arrived last year because the captain left after an accident and I applied for it. Being one gives me some power, like letting Elena back on the team. And don't worry about that Elena, after practice I'll see to put you in a comfortable place, or if you have any problem you can tell me and I'll help you- offered Caroline with sympathy looking for a moment at the brunette girl who looked a little surprised by her words and her offer.

-Really Caroline? Wow, thanks for the gesture. I think that Bonnie could help me learn the routines, right?- asked the younger one to her friend who nodded with a smile.

-It's okay, you had a hard moment and you deserve some time. I think everyone deserves another chance- said the blonde trying to treat her with kindness throwing a glance at Stefan, while the brunette couldn't help seeing her a bit irritated by what she had said, since she didn't want her to feel sorry for her.

-I'm sorry Elena, I heard what happened to you in town. I know what it's like to lose both parents. I think that my siblings and I have seen everyone we have ever loved die- Damon hinted pretending to act all friendly, ignoring the heretic's warning look.

-Damon, stop it. Don't ruin the moment- she warned him, still looking at him seriously.

-We don't need to talk about it now Damon- Stefan replied just as serious as she was, hoping he would shut up. He didn't want him to say inappropriate things for that dinner, or for any moment.

-That's right Stef, you're right. The last thing I want to do is to mention her- said the oldest guy to make him angry for talking about Katherine. But he didn't expect Caroline to take advantage of the fact that she was sitting next to him to give him a punch in the stomach using her elbow, cheering Stefan who tensed up just like the rest of them at the reference of his ex.

-Damon, I'm sorry. I didn't know my arm was next to you- apologized the heretic with a false tone of apology, while the oldest guy gave her a look of annoyance. After finishing dessert, Elena was in the kitchen when Damon appeared to chat alone.

-I like you, you know how to laugh. And you make Stefan smile, I haven't seen that in a long time- Damon told her walking through the kitchen, hoping that he had aroused her curiosity.

-Earlier, were you talking about Katherine?- asked him the brunette interested in knowing about that girl, she saw the older guy nodding- And how did she die?- she wanted to know very curious about his history with her.

-She died in a tragic fire- he revealed seriously thinking about that terrible night.

-How long ago?- Elena continued asking, increasing her curiosity with his answers.

-It seems like yesterday- said the vampire, but in reality several decades had passed.

-What was she like?- she asked looking at him softly, hoping he wouldn't be uncomfortable with the talk.

-She was beautiful, she was like you in that way. She was also complicated and selfish, and at times not really kind but very sexy and seductive- he told her losing himself in his memories of the other brunette girl.

-For the punch that Caroline gave you before, I guess she didn't like her- Elena deduced, interested in this Katherine. She guessed that the blonde girl didn't like her because of the way she got upset at her mention.

-No, they didn't get along. Every time someone suggested they should go out together, Caroline would leave to avoid her. I guess she didn't like not being center of attention- the vampire told her as he thought about how the blonde girl spent most of her time outside of the house and away from Katherine.

-And which one of you dated her first?- she insinuated, believing that that had happened between them.

-Good deduction. Ask Stefan, his answer is different from mine- indicated the older guy smiling, having increased her curiosity with that answer, his plan was working out well. While they were talking, Stefan took the opportunity to talk to his sister alone.

-Caroline, can you tell me what you and Damon are doing here?- he asked approaching the heretic at last hoping to receive a coherent answer, and she would surely give it to him.

-I don't know. I talked to Bonnie who told me about their dinner, but Damon overheard her and out of the blue he wanted us to come here- the blonde was totally sincere, she had no idea what they were doing there either.

-And why didn't you tell me that you two had already had a meeting between siblings?- he questioned her wanting to clarify his other doubt, he thought that she would tell him as soon as the two of them saw each other.

-I was going to tell you, but I didn't see you all day. And when I did, you went to class with your girl. She's already your girlfriend, right?- she hinted curiously and saw him nod as he smiled for a moment.

-If you didn't want to come you could've done something, you're stronger than us- Stefan reminded her, erasing his smile without understanding why the blonde hadn't done something against the oldest vampire.

-To be honest, I don't know. I should have hurt him until he stopped bothering me- she agreed, the vampire was about to talk but then Damon appeared before them.

-What are you talking about little siblings?- he asked even though he heard most of their conversation, the younger ones looked at each other for a moment and then looked at their oldest brother.

-Normal things- they answered at the same time with a calm tone, looking like little kids instead of two vampires of a century and a half old.

-You know I heard you, so don't pretend- he reminded them making them roll their eyes, and then he added- You know little sis, Elena and Bonnie are in the kitchen, why don't you see if they need help?- he suggested looking at the girl, who looked at him hoping he wasn't serious.

-Do you want to send me to the kitchen? I can spy on you if I want to. Do I have to remind you that we are almost of the same species?- she mocked ironically, that didn't make sense since she had vampiric hearing.

-Please, for me?- he asked looking at her with tender eyes, but the younger girl laughed.

-I don't think so, I wouldn't do dishes for you Damon- she refused again without affecting her his attempt of tender eyes, making Stefan smile who tried to dissimulate.

-Come on, go away. I'm the oldest so do as I say- Damon tried to order her with authority to leave. Caroline was at first annoyed for that but when she got an idea she smiled innocently.

-You know what, I'll go and see if they need help- the girl accepted without stopping smiling and looked at Stefan for a few moments and then stood up, moment that she took the chance to get a littler closer to Damon and step on his foot hard making him groan while Stefan watched her go with a smile.

-Sometimes that girl can be an evil demon dressed as an angel- Damon muttered irritated while seeing where the younger girl had gone and then turning his eyes to the other vampire.

-You deserve it for getting her mad, I told you to be careful- Stefan reminded him somewhat serious and then added- She's not just a person Damon, she's our sister, she's not your puppet or servant for you to use her as a simple object for what she is- he reproached him in a low voice.

-Of course she is, like you I'm her brother and she accepts to help me in what I need as she's always done. Besides, maybe following my rules is the best thing for her- replied Damon seriously, not caring if she heard him, if she always took care of them or helped them anyway.

-You'd better not think about ratting her out as a heretic or doing some other crazy thing, because she will make you pay, and I will gladly help her- warned the younger one, assuring him that he was with her.

-Uuh, my little siblings against me, it wouldn't be the first time. And about ratting her out, that's something maybe I wouldn't do as a vampire with magic is something unique and special enough to be lost- assured the vampire with a certain mischief in his voice, making the other angry.

-You already used Caroline, you're with me and Elena. Well, now I want you to leave- he ordered hoping that he would let him live in peace for once in their long lives.

-No problem, because Elena already invited me in, and I can come back tomorrow and the day after and I'll do with your cheerleader whatever I want to do, because that's the normal thing to do, right?- the vampire warned him this time seriously, worrying him about what he might do.

It was the day of the football game, and both Stefan and Caroline were busy since they were on the football and cheerleading teams respectively. When the blonde arrived at school wearing her uniform she had to rearrange the cheerleaders since Elena had left the team again, but other than that she had no problem. Meanwhile, Stefan talked to Elena before the game and gave her a special necklace for him, and he asked her not to take it off.

Later, coach Tanner was introducing Stefan along with the football team to the crowd, Caroline was shouting excited and proud for the compliments to her brother. But that moment was interrupted when everyone saw Jeremy fighting with Tyler and the heretic saw Stefan intervene, causing Tyler to hit him without causing him any reaction. Although everything got worse when Jeremy grabbed a glass from the floor and inadvertently cut Stefan.

-Stefan!- screamed worried Caroline going to him before anyone else since the wound would heal by itself for being a vampire so no one could see it, the older girl saw Elena going for Jeremy and hoped she hadn't seen anything- Stefan, give me the hand- she ordered him as she got near him and saw the cut.

-I hope it heals fast- said the vampire nervously looking at his sister.

-Quiet, ok? Just hide your hand- she ordered seeing Elena was approaching them- Elena, he didn't get hurt so don't worry- she lied as soon as she was in front of them while Stefan hid his hand.

-I saw that he hurt him Caroline. Stefan, is it deep? Did he cut you a lot?- asked Elena worriedly while she moved the blonde girl and stood in front of her boyfriend taking his hand, and being surprised to see the hand without wounds- I, I saw how...- Elena started to say confused.

-Eh, I better leave you two alone to talk, ok? See you later- Caroline said goodbye to the couple and went to check on the cheerleaders so they could talk in peace.

-He missed. It's not my blood. See? I'm fine- said Stefan showing his healthy hand to Elena.

-No, no, I saw it. The glass cut your hand, it was...- insisted the brunette, very confused and slightly scared since she was sure of what she had seen, but his hand was intact.

-I'm fine. It's almost time for the game. I see you later- the vampire said goodbye trying to hide the nerves and walked away. While Elena approached Bonnie to talk to her.

-Can I ask you something and you answer me with all the sincerity in the world?- asked Elena seriously confusing her friend, after walking a little bit away from Caroline and the cheerleaders.

-Yeah, what is it?- wanted to know the younger girl without understanding the sudden seriousness of the other girl.

-Tell me what you felt when you touched Stefan and you had that reaction- she said, doubtful of the answer.

-You know what? Forget it, your dinner plot worked on me- Bonnie started to say to make her forget about the feeling she had said she had had with Stefan, but Elena wanted to know more.

-No Bonnie, seriously. What did you feel? Did you see something or...- she insisted, nervous and worried about Stefan.

-The image wasn't clear. And today I keep seeing the same numbers that I told you about: 8-14-22- her friend began to explain in surrender, while the other one nodded for her to continue- When I touched Stefan, it was a feeling that vibrated through me. It was something cold, and it was...- she paused with doubts about whether it was a good idea to let Elena know what she had felt.

-And what?- the brunette urged her to finish, she needed to know what she had felt with him.

-It was death. It's how I imagine death feels- she revealed, disconcerting Elena who didn't know what to say before such a revelation- And now that I remember it, I once felt something similar with Caroline. I remember I touched her and felt the same, but then it had been warm as if in her there was something familiar and different- she added thoughtfully remembering that strange day.

-Wait, both of them gave you the same feeling? But with Caroline it was different at the same time?- Elena blurted out just as confused, not understanding how both siblings could make her feel that way.

After finishing talking to her friend, Elena went to her car and found Damon who claimed to be hiding from Caroline since she could be complicated and neurotic. Seeing her tense face, the vampire 'apologized' to her for making her uncomfortable by talking about his sister since he knew that she didn't get along with the blonde girl, but Elena accused him of putting double meanings to everything he told her, so Damon tried to compel her into kissing him. But his plan backfired as the brunette slapped him and clarified that she wasn't Katherine.

Stefan was talking to Matt, who apologized for being harsh or mean to him during practice, when he ran into Damon outside, who clapped his hands wryly.

-Isn't that nice? Stefan joins the team and makes a friend. It's all so "rah, rah, go team, yeah!"- the older guy jokingly commented from a corner and raised an arm as if he was encouraging the team.

-Not tonight, I'm done with you- Stefan replied and turned around, but Damon appeared in front of him.

-Nice trick with Elena. Let me guess, vervain in the necklace. I admit I was surprised, it's been a while since anyone has resisted my compulsion. Where did you get it?- he asked curiously. That was the reason why he hadn't been able to compel her, and he wondered where the vervain had com from.

-What do you care?- replied the younger seriously without wanting to say anything and walked away from his brother.

-I guess I could just seduce her without tricks. Or I could just eat her- he insinuated, making Stefan stop and remain thoughtful for a moment, and then turned around.

-No, you won't hurt her Damon- Stefan affirmed after the vampire turned around as well.

-No?- he questioned interested in his brother's statement as he walked towards him.

-Because there's a part of you that feels something. I was worried that you didn't have much humanity left despite the way you act with Caroline that you had become the blood-sucking monster you always pretend to be- he argued as he stared at him.

-Who's pretending?- asked the vampire without showing any doubts about what he said, remaining strong.

-Then kill me- the guy suddenly blurted out with confidence, he knew that he wouldn't really do anything to him.

-Hey, don't tempt me- replied the older guy trying to remain stable despite his order.

-No, you wouldn't. You've had years to do it and here I am Damon, I'm still alive. And here you are, haunting me after 145 years. Katherine is gone and you hate me because you loved her and you torture me because you still love her. And that, brother, is your humanity- Stefan explained, trying to talk some sense into him. The vampires were staring at each other when Mr.Tanner appeared.

-Salvatore. What the hell? The game is about to begin- he announced, giving Damon an idea.

-If that's my humanity, then what is this?- the older vampire declared, grinning mischievously and quickly approached the human, and then bit his neck drinking his blood until killing him.

-No!- Stefan looked at them puzzled, and internally a little disappointed by the older one's attitude.

-Any place, anytime, anyone- Damon exclaimed with blood in his mouth while he looked at his brother, still showing his vampiric features.

Tyler, Matt and the rest of the football team were in the locker room waiting for Mr. Tanner to show up and start playing. The first two were arguing over Tyler's fight with Jeremy, when Matt found Mr. Tanner's body and called for help. The police were searching the scene when Bonnie arrived and was startled at seeing around her the numbers she had seen before: 8-14-22. While Stefan kept thinking about Damon and when he arrived at the mansion he wrote his thoughts in his diary as usual.

-"I thought that there was hope left deep inside him, that something in Damon was still human, I wanted to be like Caroline and believe there was something good in him. But I was wrong. There is nothing human left in Damon. There's no goodness or kindness, no love. Only a monster who must be stopped. But I can't blame her, she's always believed that even terrible people have goodness inside them"- Stefan wrote in his diary thinking about his siblings, not knowing that Damon was in Elena's room watching her sleep and touching her cheek softly.

Caroline had heard from Stefan what had happened between him and their oldest brother, and she couldn't believe that Damon would be so irresponsible as to kill someone in a place like that, but he was very impulsive and she didn't know what to do with them anymore. Because of the stupid fights they had people died, and they might get attention of the town.

Her brothers were ruining her life again. She'd rarely been able to have a quiet life and sometimes it was while they knew nothing about her, and not even where she was. The longest quiet time she had had was in the late 1800's that maybe for almost 40 years her brothers had barely known about her or vice versa.

Now she hoped they wouldn't make everything worse and they could have a quite enough life to stay, but she knew it would be a difficult thing to do. There was a part of her that hoped she wouldn't have to leave to survive, Caroline hoped to stay in Mystic Falls because she didn't want to miss that opportunity. And she didn't care about what she had to do to stay in town, if the heretic had already crossed several limits.

And that's it! I hope you are enjoying this story, I'm working hard in this chapters, so I thank again every response. Now just in case I wanted to make a little clarification about Caroline's character changes.

She isn't a bad person or mean or really different, I changed her in some things. She's good and kind but when she's angry, doesn't like someone or how someone treats her/someone important for her, she kinda acts like a "mean girl". In the scene of the dinner I tried to show it: she tried to be kind and friendly, but earlier she was a bit mean with Elena because this one had a "doubtful" attitude towards Damon (after getting close to Stefan) so she didn't like that. I hope it's understandable.

Remember, every response (follow, review, favourite, etc.) is welcome and thanked! I will try to update sooner. Like in the other chapters, I'll leave a summary of the next chapter because they are really fun to do. See you next time!

Chapter 4 - Family Ties:

It's Founders Party and the Salvatore siblings are invited. Elena tries to learn more about Stefan's past, and doubts about Damon's answers. Caroline doesn't know if she can trust Damon at all, but an unexpected plan puts her in a dangerous situation.
