Chapter 34: The Dance

Danny had just finished doing his homework when someone knocked on his room door. "Mr. Fenton, I have a registered letter for you from the Turquoise Palace." A messenger said.

'Natasha's family's home?' Danny thought. 'I hope it's not bad news.' He then signed a document to confirm that he received the letter. To his delight, the letter was an invitation to a royal dance to celebrate Princess Natasha's birthday. Seeing as the invitation ended with R. S. V. P., Danny made a phone call to his girlfriend. "Danny?"

"Natasha, I'm calling to say I accept the invitation." Danny told her.

"Thank you, Danny." Natasha happily said. "Normally, I'd go for a signed response but this works."

"You're welcome." Danny replied. "So, how're things in Zoravia?"

"I'm going to do an inspection at Zoravia's children's hospital tomorrow, Danny." Natasha answered. "How're things back in Amity Park?"

"I've just finished doing my homework, Natasha." Danny said, ashamed for not doing anything even nearly as impressive as Natasha's royal duties.

The next day, Danny went to a jewelry shop to buy a gift for Natasha. "Danny Fenton?" A familiar voice Danny hasn't heard in a while asked.

"Mr. Manson?" Danny awkwardly asked. "Long time no see."

"So, what're you doing here, Fenton?" Jeremy Manson asked.

"I'm here to buy a gift for Natasha's birthday, Mr. Manson." Danny answered.

"May I offer a suggestion?" Jeremy asked.

Ten minutes later, Danny and Jeremy let the shop with gifts for their respective love interests. "I wish you and Mrs. Manson a happy anniversary, Mr. Manson." Danny happily said.

"Thank you, Danny." Jeremy replied. "And I hope Princess Natasha loves her birthday gift."

"I'm sure she will, Mr. Manson." Danny commented.

One day later, at the anniversary, Sam visited her parents for the celebration. "Samantha, you won't guess who I chanced upon at the jewelry shop." Jeremy told his daughter.

"The country club's owner?" Sam asked with a bored expression. She hated hearing tales of her parents sucking up to people richer than them.

"If only." Jeremy replied with a dreamy expression, oblivious to how his daughter felt about the idea. "I met your old friend Danny Fenton. He was buying a gift for Princess Natasha's birthday and we exchanged suggestions."

"Wait a minute." Sam said with a shocked face. "Are you saying Danny gave Natasha something you suggested him to give?"

"No, Samantha." Jeremy answered. "He will give her something I suggested him to give."

"She'll likely hate it." Sam muttered.

"I'm sure every college-age high-class lady would like what I suggested Danny to give." Jeremy argued.

"That's why I'm sure she'll hate it." Sam stated.

"I heard that." Jeremy said.

"I don't care." Sam replied.

Two days later, Danny was at the Turquoise Palace and, unlike Sam's expectations, Natasha loved the bracelet Danny gave her. "Danny, it's so beautiful." She commented.

"Shall we dance, my Princess?" Danny asked.

"It'll be a pleasure, Danny." Natasha replied and they started dancing. As Danny look at the thrones, he noticed King Carl and Queen Lena watching them and it still made him just as nervous as it did the first time he visited them.

"Lena, were we like that back when we were their age?" King Carl asked his wife.

"I believe so, my King." Queen Lena answered.

Suddenly, an alarm rang. "It's the ghost alarm!" King Carl exclaimed.

"I'm going ghost." Danny said as he turned into Danny Phantom. He phased himself outside the palace and saw the guards doing a surprisingly good job (for people with no experience fighting ghosts) holding Skulker at bay. Not wanting to waste the advantage the guards gave him, Danny quickly blasted Skulker's armor, exposing the ghost's tiny self. Danny then sucked Skulker into a Fenton Thermos.

"Thank you, Mr. Phantom." A guard said and the others nodded.

"Thank you, guards." Danny replied, grateful for their help. "I hope my parents are doing just as great back in Amity Park."

Meanwhile, in Amity Park, Jack Fenton was signing another fine. "So, have you seen a box-obsessed ghost around here, Officer?" Jack meekly asked.

Maddie facepalmed in frustration.

Back in the Kingdom of Zoravia, Danny and Natasha enjoyed the rest of the dance. "Sorry about Skulker, Natasha." Danny said.

"It wasn't your fault, Danny." Natasha comforted her boyfriend.

"I hope your parents feel the same." Danny commented in worry.

"If they were that worried, they'd have make us break up a long time ago, Danny." Natasha replied with a smile.

"Point taken, Natasha." Danny conceded.

Nothing else happened and Danny returned to Amity Park and Phoned his parents. "Already back, son?" Jack asked. "How were things with your girlfriend?"

"Skulker tried to crash the party but the guards and I stopped him, Dad." Danny answered. "What about you and Mom? Did you fight any ghosts?"

"Only the Box Ghost, son." Jack answered, not wanting to get into details.

"Okay, Dad." Danny replied. "Bye."
