AN: Hello, I have the next chapter here. This is the one I have been waiting for, the return of a certain duo. With it, I debated a lot on their matchup, and in the end, this battle was one of my favorites to write. Hope you enjoy this chapter, leave a review with your comments and questions, and have a nice day.

Chapter 63 – The Combined

Walking down the shoreline, Pyrrha took a deep breath, "I wish I could have taken the time to appreciate this place again before entering this tournament. I barely even went to this beach when I was in school here." She said before looking onto the wide-open waters, but saw the darker blue sky, "But it looks like a storm might be coming. Strange, I thought they didn't call for rain." She said before noticing something in the waters, a small black blip, "Is that a boat? Why would-" she said before realizing the black dot grew larger, then crashed into the island.

Hitting the shoreline was a wooden boat with two men inside. Both were identically bald with a kanji written on the forehead. One wore an orange Chinese long shirt, while the other's attire was green. They jumped out of the boat with their bodies spun in the air, landing on the sand with a shockwave that ran through the area.

"It is I, Para," The orange brother introduced.

"And I, Dox." The green brother announced.

"With the speed of a rabbit," Para declared.

"And the cunning of a fox," Dox added on.

"No matter the opponent," Para stated with a refined stance.

"No matter the assignment," Dox confirmed with a reposed position.

"We will win the duel." The orange brother said.

"As proof of our refinement." The green bother spoke to conclude the poem of their arrival.

"…" Pyrrha remained dumbfounded.

"Hahaha, it seems our first opponent is already star-struck," Para commented to his brother.

"Yes, rather struck indeed." Dox added, "But she is a star herself, one known as the Untouchable Duelist."

"Uh, yeah, I'm Pyrrha Nikos." The magnetic pro duelist said, "Are you here for the tournament?"

"But of course, and we intend to win," Para said, "Since our lose on stage, our power has grown."

"We have climbed mountains, weathered hurricanes, and swam the seven seas." Dox added, "Now, all that is left is for us to take the throne."

"Oh, well, the tournament has already started and the participants already arrived yesterday," Pyrrha responded, causing both brothers to gasp.

"Impossible, this cannot be?" Para asked.

"But we are here now, that you can see," Dox added.

"I'm sorry, but those are the rules." Pyrrha said, "Maybe next year you can-"

"No, we have waited too long!" Para said with rage, "Our time has come."

"This will be the day," Dox added, "For which our legend shall be from."

"If the tournament has started, fine, no big deal." The orange brother spoke.

"We will defeat the rest, forcing all to kneel." The green brother recited.

"As for our first of many wins, who shall it be?" Para asked Dox.

"I think you know, Brother, she is right before thee," Dox said as they both glared at Pyrrha.

"You want to take me on two against one?" Pyrrha asked.

"We will give you a boon," Para said.

"So this duel does not end too soon." Dox added, "You may have more life points, twice at the start."

"A good deal, allowing us to both duel with heart," Para concluded.

"I guess that's fine if I still go every other turn." Pyrrha said with a sigh as the two brothers grinned, "Fine, if you win, you get to stay and continue as if you're in the tournament." She said before readying her duel disk, "But if I win, you two need to leave this place on the boat you came in on."

"Agreed." The Paradox Brothers said at the same time before each readied their duel disks.

"Duel!" the trio spoke as the two-against-one duel had begone.

Pyrrha: 8000 Life Points

Paradox Brothers: 4000 Life Points

"This first move is mine," Para said as he drew, "With it, I discard one monster to add a field spell." He said as a card went to the graveyard, followed by one ejecting from his deck.

"Ah brother, I see you are not wasting time against this foe," Dox commented.

"Of course, as I play Labyrinth Wall Shadow!" Para said as he activated the field spell, causing the sand between them to sink Pyrrha looked on as a maze formed in the ground before her. She looked around in confusion, hearing a creature howling in the maze, "And with this upgraded labyrinth, it will leave your monsters skinned." The orange brother said as another card ejected from his deck, "And with its new effect, I play Kazejin, God of Wind."

Pyrrha watched as a crimson coffin appeared on the field with a green emblem on it, "It was played in the spell and trap zone?" She commented as the Paradox brothers sneered, "Fine, I draw." She said before looking at her card, picking a monster to play, "I summon Blockman in attack mode." She said as a multicolored building block creature formed in the maze, (1000 ATK / 1500 DEF).

"What is this, a toy?" Para commented.

"Such a weak one, easy to destroy," Dox added.

"This coming from the two that left their field wide open." Pyrrha said before pointing, "I attack you directly with Blockman."

"Hahahaha, you fool!" Para taunted, "With the Labyrinth Wall Shadow, the monster must be level five or higher to attack after summon." He said as a dark creature rode the wall of the maze, "As well, at the start of your battle phase, we can destroy one monster with less than 1600 attack points." The orange brother said before a green monster appeared next to Blockman, slashing him in half white its claw, "It seems there is a skill you seem to lack."

"For the next turn, it will be you with a direct attack," Dox added as he was about to draw.

"Not so fast, I still have my second main phase." Pyrrha responded, "Now, I remove my Blockman to special summon The Rock Spirit in defense mode." He said as a roman soldier was seen in a knelt stance, (1700 ATK / 1000 DEF). "I end with two cards face down."

"Now, the turn is mine!" Dox said as he drew, "And with the field spell, another element will be placed, Suijin!" He said a crimson coffin with a blue symbol on it, "Now, for the fruits of our labor."

Suddenly, the two coffins shook before erupting a pillar of water and cyclone of wind, "Two elements combine to bring forth slaughter." The Paradox brothers said as Suijin and Kazejin formed, "Appear now, Gate Guardian of Wind and Water!" with two formed together as Kazejin remained on top of Suijin, who formed the legs as they towered over the maze walls, (2450 ATK / 2300 DEF).

"I never heard of the pierces being able to do that?" Pyrrha commented.

"Are you surprised, their power is godlike," Para said as he turned to Dox, "Care to demonstrate?"

"Yes Brother," Dox said before pointing at Pyrrha's monster, "Go, attack with Tidal Squall Strike!" He said as Suijin and Kazejin unleashed a combined blast of water and wind toward The Rock Spirit.

"Not this time, I active my face down card, Shield Drain!" Pyrrha responded as a yellow barrier appeared around her monster, "Now, your attack will give me life points."

"You think that will be enough?" Dox said, "Gate Guardian of Wind and Water allow us to negate one of your spell or trap effects twice per turn." He said as the barrier faded, and The Rock Spirit was overtaken by the water and wind assault, "With its power, you will not survive."

"No chance for resurrection, and no way to revive," Para added.

"I'll admit, you two are a lot tougher than I thought." Pyrrha said as she drew, "But I won't stop fighting until the end. I play Pot of Greed, allowing me to draw two cards." She said before doing so. In looking at her option, she ejected The Rock Spirit from her graveyard and took two cards out of her hand, "I banish three Earth monsters to special summon Block Dragon to the field." She said as a building block toy dragon was seen on the field, staring down the Paradox Brother's fusion, (2500 ATK / 3000 DEF). "This one is more than enough to break through your maze and take down your Guardian. Go, Block Bash Attack!" she declared as her monster charged into battle.

"You forgot that which I discard." Para called out, showing the card from his graveyard, "Shadow Ghoul of the Labyrinth, I can banish him to destroy your monster." He said as a green ghoul emerged from inside the maze, slashing at Block Dragon. However, the claws broke on contact as the ghoul faded away, "What's this?"

"Block Dragon makes it so rock monster can only be destroyed by battle," Pyrrha said as her monster crashed into the fusion monster, causing Kazejin to explode, but Suijin remained on the field, (2500 ATK / 2300 DEF).

Paradox Brothers: 4000 – 50 = 3950 Life Points

"When the fusion is destroyed, our resources are not fulling drained." Dox answered, "Suijin, God of Water, has remained."

"Fine, I end my turn," Pyrrha said as she had her Block Dragon return to her side.

"It is my then." Para said as he drew, playing the card, "I activate Different Dimension Reincarnation. By discarding one card, I can summon back Kazejin." He said as the God of Wind reformed onto the field, (2400 ATK / 2300 DEF). "And with our field spell, I set the final piece, Sanga of the Thunder." Suddenly, a coffin with a yellow symbol appeared.

At that moment, the coffin opened with a bolt of lightning, emerging was an upper torso of a powerful being, "Elements of water, thunder, and wind. Suijin, Sanga, Kazejin begin." The Paradox Brothers said as all three gods ascended into the sky. "Meld your powers into your true form! Show them the power of a raging storm!" They said as Kazejin was placed atop Suijin again, then Sanga over Kazejin.

"Your organs and bone, he shall grind," Para stated.

"The deed to your soul has now been signed," Dox added.

"Behold his terror, Gate Guardians Combined!" The Paradox Brothers declared as they posed while the ultimate guardian landed over the maze, (3750 ATK / 3400 DEF).

"A fusion of all three." Pyrrha commented, "I wonder if this one has an effect."

"Hahaha, why yes." Para said, "If you target any of our cards, he will negate the effect thrice per turn."

"Thrice?" Pyrrha responded.

"Indeed, and I play a Riryoku Guardian." Para added as the ultimate guardian gained a green aura, "With it, your life points are halved, then he gains attack by what you have left."

"What!?" Pyrrha said before scowling, "This is why you wanted me to have twice the starting life points." She said as the Paradox Brother smirked.

Pyrrha: 8000 / 2 = 4000 Life Points

Gate Guardians Combined had each of its symbols glow as they grew stronger, (3750 + 4000 = 7750 ATK). "Go, destroy Block Dragon with Tri-God Blast!" The Paradox Brothers said as their fusion monster unleashed a powerful wave of wind, water, and lightning. All three combined with the force of a hurricane, turning Block Dragon into pieces before colliding with Pyrrha. An explosion occurred on her side of the field, followed by the brothers grinding. However, the smoke cleared to show the untouchable duelist still standing, "Impossible!"

"No, you just forgot I played two cards face down on my first turn." Pyrrha said as she radiated a yellow aura, looking at her other set card, "Power Wall, I send one card per 500 points of damage I would have taken." She said before taking eleven cards from the top of her deck and sending them to the graveyard. Suddenly, two cards ejected from her deck, "And since Block Dragon was destroyed, I can add rock monsters to my hand with a total level of eight between them."

"Fine, one more turn, that's all you get," Para said as he ended his turn.

"It will not matter, there is no way to defeat this threat," Dox commented.

"Are you so sure, because you gave me all the setup I need?" Pyrrha said as she took four cards out of her graveyard, "I use Delta's effect to banish Alpha, Beta, and Gamma from my grave to summon Valkyrion the Magna Warrior." She said as the three magnet monsters split apart, then reformed into one that stood eye-to-eye with the Gate Guardian's Combined, (3500 ATK / 3850 DEF).

"You insult our style with this cheap imitation," Para said while enraged.

"If you attempt to rhyme, we will threaten with litigation." Dox added, but then smirked, "But your combined monster is weak, while ours still has the boost of Riryoku Guardian."

"Yes, to its attack." Pyrrha said as she took a card out of her hand, "I play Shield and Sword, switch all the attack and defense on the field without targeting your monster."

"Oh no," Para said as Valkyrion grew stronger, (3850 ATK / 3500 DEF).

"This cannot be so," Dox said as Gate Guardians Combined lost the green aura as the symbols faded, (3400 ATK / 7750 DEF).

"Valkyrion, attack with Gravity Slash," Pyrrha said as the Magna warrior rushed over the maze, thrusting its blade into the Symbol on Sanga's part of body. In pulling out the blade, she jumped back before an explosion occurred on the Paradox brother's side of the field.

Paradox Brothers: 3950 – 450 = 3500 Life Points

Pyrrha smiled at taking down their boss monster but then gasped as the smoke cleared. There, Gate Guardian remained standing with its original stats, (3750 ATK / 3400 DEF).

"When Combined is destroyed, we can summon the original Gate Guardian from our deck." Para said, then laughed, "Hahahaha, you have not seen the last of him."

"Your chances of victory now are slim," Dox added on.

"Tsk," Pyrrha said before taking a card out of her hand, "I set one card and end my turn."

"Then the next turn is mine." Dox said as he drew, "I summon Labyrinth Heavy Tank in attack mode." He said as a blue tank with a massive red drill was seen, (2400 ATK / 2400 DEF). "And since we have the field spell, he can destroy one monster on your field." The green bother said as the heavy tank rammed into Valkyrion, reducing it to rubble, "And now for his other effect, to place one of my Guardian pieced in my spell and trap zone."

"I see, but what fusion shall we make this time brother," Para asked.

"How about-" Dox was saying.

"None of them." Pyrrha interrupted, "I reveal my face down card, Burial from the Different Dimension. This will put those three coffins where they're supposed to be, the graveyard."

"No way!" The paradox brother screamed, as all the parts were locked in their coffins, unable to be placed by the tank or the maze.

"It matters not, Labyrinth Heavy Tank cannot attack the turn he is played," Dox spoke.

"But Gate Guardian has enough attack points to end your crusade," Para said.

"Go, Thunder Stroke Attack!" The Paradox Brothers declared as the trinity of monsters unleashed their blast of wind, water, and thunder. However, a barrier prevents the attack from hitting Pyrrha directly, "What now?"

"Another card sent to the graveyard before." Pyrrha said as took another card that was milled by Power Wall, "Electromagnetic Turtle. By removing him from play, I can end the battle phase."

"Grrr," The Paradox Brothers gritted their teeth at the end of their turn.

"It's my move." Pyrrha said as she drew, smiling at the results, "I play my field spell, Magnetic Field." She said as the Paradox Brothers watched as the maze crumbled, now replaced with multiple magnets pulsating with electro energy, "I summon Epsilon the Magnet Warrior." She said as a purple magnet warrior was summoned north and south symbols on its arms, (1300 ATK / 1500 DEF). "Now, I can send a magnet warrior from my deck to the graveyard so that she can copy its name. And I pick Beta the Electromagnet Warrior. Then, I can special summon a different magnet warrior monster from the grave, and I pick Delta!" she said as the blue jagged Magnet warrior monster was summoned, (1600 ATK / 1400 DEF). "And again, I send a magnet warrior monster to the grave, and this time I pick Gamma the Electromagnet Warrior."

"All this pieced will yield no power," Para commented.

"Your taste of victory will only sour," Dox added on.

"I'm nowhere near done yet." Pyrrha responded, "With my field spell, I can special summon one Magnet warrior monster from my graveyard as well, and I pick Alpha the Electromagnet Warrior since she was milled before." the magnetic pro duelist said as the red mineral warrior was summoned to the field, (1700 ATK / 1100 DEF). "Now, I can add a level eight magna warrior monster to my hand." She said as the card ejected then played it, "So, by banishing Alpha from the field, Gamma from the grave, and Epsilon with Beta's name. I can special summon Berserkion the Magna Warrior!" Pyrrha said as the three monsters combined into another warrior, this one wielding a copper collied sword, (3000 ATK / 2800 DEF). "And with this one, I can banish Beta from my grave to destroy your Gate Guardian!"

"NOOOO!" The Paradox Brothers panicked as their boss monster was ripped apart by a magnetic force.

"Finally, I banish Valkyrion to summon Gigantes from my hand," Pyrrha said as the red rock troll with a log as a weapon seen, (1900 ATK / 1300 DEF). "Now, Berserkion attacks your Tank." The magna warrior rushed in and broke the drill of the heavy tank, avenging his fallen comrade. "While Delta and Gigantes attack you directly." She said the two monsters rushed in tackling their targets.

"AAAAAAAA!" The Paradox Brothers recoiled from the hit, sending them back into the ground while their life points hit zero.

Paradox Brothers: 3500 – 600 – 1600 – 1900 = 0 Life Points

"I can't believe it, but we lost," Para spoke in regret.

"In trying to win, at any cost," Dox added in sorrow. However, the brothers turned to one another, a look of focus in their eyes.

"Hear us, Pyrrha Nikos." The orange brother spoke as he pointed at her, "This is only a hurdle, one small step."

"For the next time we meet," The green brother said as he pointed as well, "We will have done more prep."

"If that's so," Pyrrha said as she smiled, "Then I look forward to our rematch." With those words, the Paradox Brothers got back on their boat and rowed off into the sea. The magnetic pro duelist waved goodbye.

Suddenly, a voice was heard from the woods, "Well, those two are such an odd pair." Pyrrha turned to see Aster walk up with a smile on his face, "If only I had arrived sooner, then the two of us could have had a tag duel."

"Sorry to disappoint, but if you are in the mood for your rematch." Pyrrha spoke with a smile, "I'm still feeling energetic."

"Oh, still intending to change fate," Aster said as he received his duel disk. However, he then turned to the sight of Neo and Sora running up.

"Hey, Pyrrha!" Sora called out.

"…!" Neo waved to get her attention.

"Can't you see we are in the middle of something?" He said before focusing on the mute pro duelist, "Or do you have a habit of showing up right before a battle is supposed to take place."

"…" Neo stuck her tongue out at Aster.

"Just ignore him." Pyrrha said as she looked at Sora, "Did you need something from me?"

"Yeah, I'm with your friends." Sora spoke, "A lot of bad stuff is going on now, and they say Cinder is the cause."

"Cinder!?" Pyrrha examined, "She's still alive, I thought Ruby-"

"Yeah, about her." Sora added, "Ruby's missing, as well as Blair. We need your help looking for them."

"On it," Pyrrha said before looking to Aster, "We'll have to raincheck on the duel, I need to-" she was saying until realizing the look of rage in his eyes, "Aster?"

"That name you said, was it Cinder?" Aster said as Sora nodded, "Where is she?"

"I-I don't-" Sora was saying until Aster grabbed his collar, lifting him into the air.

"Tell me where she is!" Aster screamed into Sora's face.

"Aster!" Pyrrha said as she and Neo pulled the two apart. The mute pro duelist, holding Sora as she caught his breath, while the magnetic pro duelist glared down at Aster, "What's wrong with you, how do you know her?"

"That woman," Aster spoke with clenched fists, "She's the one that killed my father." He said as the others went silent from that response.

AN: There you go, this battle of the merging monsters. I debated a lot on who their rematch should be. One idea was Ruby and Yang as a flashback to earlier in the tournament, so that it was brother against sisters with the girls also trying rhyme…but that made my head hurt. Another idea was Yang and Neo, since I like that pair, but Neo was already out of the tournament. Finally, I realized Pyrrha already had the perfect dream matchup in the form of the magnet warriors against gate guardian. I was going to have it be a tag duel with Aster, but in looking at the cards, the solo way seemed to fit a lot more and was a lot cooler of a matchup. Aster still shows up at the end with the revelation on who killed his dad here. Things are heating up as more duels are underway. That is all for now, thanks for reading, and hope to see you in the next chapter.

Now, time to answer some questions. Only really had one this time regarding the Vanquish Soul archetype. I think they're cool, basically a fighting game roster as set of cards. With that idea, I'll ask a question this time. Since RWBY got in a fighting game already, if Yu-Gi-Oh got one were you played as the monsters instead of the duelist, who would you main and how would they play. For me, Obnoxious Celtic Guard would be super fun as a Link from Soul Caliber successor. He could have moves that let him pull out another sword for his Noble Arms form, and have a block that nullifies all ultimate damage to reflect his card effect. I really like him, but if I'm also being honest, I would play a lot of DMG as well. Those were all the questions I had, feel free to ask more, and I will answer them in the next chapter.
