All recognizable characters belong to J. K. Rowling, and I am not earning anything by writing this story.
I am not a native speaker of English. Please excuse my mistakes.
Warnings: Completely AU! Partly OOC, time travel, soul bonds
Knowing that he was not only the oldest, at least mentally, but also the only one who had already lived in the time they found themselves in, Sirius strode ahead and led the others to the carriage, where he could remember having met James, Remus and Peter before. "We need to do something about Peter," he mumbled. "I can't be friends with him."
"What do you want to do? Maybe we can prevent him from becoming a traitor?" Hermione suggested.
"No. I don't care. He caused me to spend twelve years in Azkaban. I am not spending as much as one thought on him."
Luna nodded. "All right. Let me deal with it."
"Thanks."

The five entered the carriage and Sirius waved his wand around. "I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good," he whispered, enlarging the carriage for all of them to fit.
"Cool. Where did you learn that?" James enquired, as he entered the carriage behind them.
Sirius grinned. "I was home schooled."
The new first-years introduced themselves to each other. Harry and Ginny decided to use their real surnames, causing James' eyes to narrow.
"Harry and Ginny Potter? I didn't know that there were any other Potters apart from my parents and me."
"Ah, I believe that our branch of the Potter family went to Australia many years ago," Ginny lied swiftly. "I think it was the second generation after the Peverell family became Potters. There were two brothers and one of them went to Australia. Only our grandparents decided to return to Britain about one hundred years ago."
"Oh, that's interesting. I've never heard of them. But it's good to know, and I am pleased to be able to attend Hogwarts together. So, are you twins?" James enquired.
'We'll tell our new friends only about the bond at a later time,' Ginny thought to Harry, before she replied affirmatively.
Harry cast her an unobtrusive nod.
The first-years spent the whole train ride talking and laughing. When the sweets trolley came around, they were glad when James generously bought lots of everything for all of them.
'Thank Merlin. The fight at the Ministry really made me hungry,' Harry thought to Ginny, who nodded, full-heartedly, before she quickly bit the head off her chocolate frog.
They had almost reached Hogsmeade, when Peter brought up the question where they thought they'd get sorted.
"Might be Gryffindor or Slytherin, but I think Gryffindor," James replied with apparent confidence. "While my Mum was a Slytherin, the Potters were all in Gryffindor."
"I'm sure you're going to be a Gryffindor," Luna informed him, smiling.
"How do you know that?" James' eyes narrowed.
Luna shrugged. "Sometimes, I can see things. No guarantee though."
"Can you tell me too?" Peter sounded eager.
Luna eyed the boy with apparent disdain, before she replied. "Peter, you belong into Slytherin, Remus Gryffindor, Harry Gryffindor, Ginny Gryffindor and Sirius too. I should be a Ravenclaw and Hermione as well, but I hope that the Hat will sort us together with you all."
"Slytherin? Are you sure?" Peter sounded disappointed.
Luna shrugged. "Yes, I think that's where you belong."
"My whole family was in Slytherin though," Sirius spoke up. "I hope you're right. I'd very much prefer Gryffindor."

Two hours later, Harry was waiting for his name to be called forward to the Sorting Hat. Sirius, Hermione, Luna and Remus as well as Lily had been sorted into Gryffindor. Harry stared at the Hat with a combination of surprise and amusement, when it sorted Peter Pettigrew into Slytherin.
"The Hat is stupid," Peter muttered aloud on his way to the Slytherin table. "I asked him to not sort me into Slytherin but together with all of my friends, and he said that was very Hufflepuff-ish but that he was still going to sort me into Slytherin."
"Oh, sorry, Peter, but I'm sure you'll quickly find friends in Slytherin," James replied in a soft voice, as he waited for his own Sorting together with Harry and Ginny.
'Thank Merlin we won't have to see him too often,' Harry thought to Ginny, who agreed, full-heartedly.
"Potter, Ginevra," McGonagall finally called Ginny.
'Of course, she's first,' Harry realised, 'and it's my turn before James.' He tried to catch Ginny's thoughts, surprised, when he was able to witness the whole conversation between her and the Sorting Hat.
'Why do I have a feeling that I've sorted you before?'
'Will you please not tell anyone about it but sort Harry and me into Gryffindor again?'
'I won't tell anyone, and I hope that the five of you will manage to make the changes that Fate wants you to make.'
An instant later, the Hat shouted for everyone to hear, "Gryffindor."
While Ginny headed to the Gryffindor table and sat next to Hermione, McGonagall called Harry to be sorted.
'Another time traveller.' The Hat sounded annoyed. 'You know you could live in a room for married couples.'
'We don't want to attract any attention,' Harry thought back. 'Will you please keep our bonding as well as the time travel a secret?'
'I will,' the Hat promised. 'May I sort you into Slytherin this time?'
'No,' Harry refused. 'I must help the others to make the required changes, and it would be much easier if we were in the same house. I have another favour to ask, by the way.'
'And what might that be?'
'Could you please sort Severus Snape into Gryffindor?'
'We shall see,' the Hat replied, before he shouted aloud, "Gryffindor!"
Grinning, Harry handed the Hat back to McGonagall and made his way to the Gryffindor table, where he took the seat between Ginny and Lily. 'My mum,' he thought, trying to keep his thought from Ginny, however, to no avail.
'Yes, she seems really nice,' Ginny thought to him. 'Your father is nice, too, though. I am really happy to have the opportunity to get to know them.'
'Yeah, me too,' Harry replied, feeling delighted at the idea.
The first-years introduced themselves to each other, and Harry grinned, happily, when Severus Snape was indeed sorted into Gryffindor.
'Wow, we already made two changes. Peter and Severus,' Ginny thought to him in apparent excitement.
'I hope it'll be for the better.'
'I think so,' Ginny replied, reaching for his hand under the table.
