Interlude

The acolytes' cohesions were lost in a cacophony of voices.

All of them were panicking about the predicament which was continuing to escalate beyond their control.

The veteran cultist rubbed the temple of his head. Listening to the reports of what was happening with the baleful Gunslinger. How he was on route to Romania now. How he was in the company of a Saber-class servant and Luviagelita Edelfelt.

Another attendant who further complicated the situation.

"He's going to be attending, so we can't just take out Richter."

"Why are we just now dealing with him? It's been two months."

"He took out our assassins. He's more competent than we gave him credit for."

"Now the gunslinger is gonna learn about the artifact!"

"Silas is going to be so displeased."

"We have a bigger problem, here. Alagadda is going to come down on us hard unless we do something as a show of trying to rectify the error."

"And what, end up like the guys who came between Belmont and the catalyst?"

"There's also the fact he now has the King of Heroes and the Chain of Heaven."

"How is he even able to do that? I thought that could probably kill a magus."

"Belmont's not some ordinary magus, apparently."

"Maybe we should-"

"Enough!" the vet cultist hollard. Silencing the room. "This is getting us nowhere. How long till they reach Romania?"

One spoke up reluctantly, fearing the veteran's ire. "The train should arrive by tomorrow."

"A day or two before the congregation." another informed him.

"Contact Icecolle. She and the wolf pack should suffice. At least they'll deal with the Welshman."

"And Richter Belmont?"

"A problem beyond correcting. Regardless of whether he dies, the information will get out."

"Then why go after Elric at all?"

"Doesn't mean we shouldn't cause him some trouble after what he did to Amell."
