Chapter 11 Rain of Stones.

Breath in, breath out. Carrie watches as her hands start shaking. Breathe in, breathe out. Don't panic. Her hands won't stop shaking. A pair of soft hands hold her and help her back to her chair. At first she thinks it is Mrs Desjardin, but one look at the face reveals that it is Jessica Upshaw.

"Come sit down, relax." says Jessica Upshaw. "Do you want some water?" Carrie shakes her head, but does what she has been told.

Little obedient lamb, always listening to the shepherd.

She only notices now that everyone is looking at her. At the front are the principal and Mrs. Holt with Mrs. Martina. Beside her are Mrs Desjardin and Mrs Lopez who look at her with concern.

Both of them mean it, she can feel it now more then before. It feels like a dam has been broken and now that she knows there is no way to stop the flood coming from it in waves. Noah could not flee from the flood, only prepare himself and his loved ones from it and like Noah she could only prepare herself to deal with the revelation she had just been hit with.

They couldn't know about it. Not now that everybody didn't think of her as a freak. That would change again if they found out about her powers.

''What happend Mrs White?'' Asks Nurse Lopez as She tries to smile for them.

''I just remembered something unpleasant, I didn't mean to scare you. I feel much better now''. The other people in the room relax while only those closest to her stay on guard.

They are the only ones who know how bad Margaret could be. Didn't they? Ignorance is bliss.

Mrs. Lopez still checks on her. Once she is satisfied Mrs. Lopez goes back to her chair but not before warning her to call for her if something is wrong. People go back to talking with their friends and parents. She expects Jessica Upshaw to go back to her chair like the rest, instead the girl sits in the chair before her that was until then empty.

''Hey do you mind if I sit here for awhile?'' Asks Jessica Upshaw. She looks at her nails while asking.

''Ummm, don't your friends or parents want to sit with you?" Carrie asked as Jessica Upshaw laughs.

''My mom doesn't mind she is sitting with other parents and I would like to sit here, unless it makes you uncomfortable?" A warm feeling comes over her as she smiles at Jessica.

''No, not at all." Jessica throws her a big smile and takes place before her.

''Let's get this shitshow over with."

The screen shows a blue house.

The room recognises the house from earlier. They wonder what they would be shown now.

The screen turns showing what appears to be the backyard of the house.

Inside the backyard is a young girl, no older then 3 or 4 years old.

Mrs Snell took a deep breath. She recognised that little girl. It was a young Carrie White. With a sudden surprise, she realises they are not seeing the future but the past. From her seat she sees others coming to the same conclusion, but everyone kept still their attention on what they were being shown.

The little girl walks around exploring her surroundings, till she stops in front of a white fence. At the other side of the fence is a teenage girl lying in a white bikini. The girl is sunbathing.

Billy Delois and his friends eyed the hot girl with lust. Carrie looks too but for another reason.

Stella.

The little girl looks at the teenager, confusion clear on her face.

Tina Blake cooed at little Carrie's expressions. She had to stop herself from squealing. Little Carrie was so cute! From the looks she is getting from Sue, Chris, Heather and the twins she is not as successful as she hoped. But she couldn't help it. Little Carrie reminds her of the dolls she used to collect and still secrelty does.

The teenage girl starts applying sunscreen on herself.

Carrie looks at Estelle. She recognises that bathing suit. It was the one Estelle had worn on that day. Dread fills her stomach.

At the same time some townpeople and the older teachers too recognised the young teenager in the bikini as Estelle Horan: a local girl in Chamberlain who had moved away years ago.

Once the teenage girl is done, she turns around and comes face to face with the little girl.

Estelle Horan: "Carrie? Carrie you scared me." While talking to Carrie she tries to cover herself up.

Carrie smiled despite her fear of what would be shown next. She had fond memories of Estelle. The older girl had always treated her with kindness and patience, explaining things to her and giving her candy behind Margaret's back. While others steared away from her because of momma and her sharp tongue, it had only seemed to encourage Estelle more. Thus, Momma had hated her. Big had been her relief when first Estelle and later her mother had moved away. Almost as big as her own grief had been. She wondered, how was Estelle doing? Did she get her dream job and the little picket fence she had dreamed of?

"How long have you been standing there?"

Young Carrie: ''You have dirty pillows''.

The people in the room choke on their breath.

''Excuse me,what did you say?" Asks Mrs Wilson.

''That's what Momma calls breasts.'' Says Carrie. The room is quiet, letting that knowledge sink in and setting it aside for later.

Estelle Horan: ''Oh you mean my breasts''?

Young Carrie: ''I wish I had some''.

The female population cooed at the cuteness. Mrs. Watson remembering how her own daughter would say something similar when she was younger, begins telling stories to her fellow mothers to the horror of her daughter.

Estelle Horan: Oh you will when you're older.

Young Carrie: No I won't, mama says only bad girls have dirty pillows.

The female population just sighed, at this point not surprised anymore about some of Margareth's stranger beliefs.

Estelle Horan: Well I'm a good girl and doesn't your mother have breasts?

"Momma says she has them because she was bad when she made me." Whispers Carrie.

Only Miss Desjardin and Jessica Upshaw hear her and look at Carrie with pity.

The backdoor of the blue house opens and from it appears Margaret White.

The whole room flinches, knowing nothing good could come from this.

The two girls see her and back off from each other. Margaret runs towards her daughter.

Margaret: ''Carrie''!

Estelle Horan: ''Mrs White''.

Margaret: ''Carrietta come here''.

The room looks at the interaction between mother and daughter. It was easy to see now that a young Carrie was terrified.

Was Margaret going to hurt her again? She wouldn't dare try anything right there with a witness right? Watching Carrie as a teenager being hurt was awful enough, the thought of her being abused by Margaret when she was still so young and defensless was 10 times worse. Cindy Yang looks up at her mother. The woman had taken hold of her daughter hand and had gone pale. Her mother had always been very protective of her, so it did not surprise her that she reacted so strongly to a child being hurt by her mother.

Margareth picks up her daughter and hold her in her arms, forcing her face away from Estelle Horan while throwing the girl a seething look.

Margaret: ''You, you stay away from my daughter''.

Estelle Horan: ''We were just talking''.

Margaret: ''I warned you, I warned you about her tonight''.

Margaret holds Carrie's head, making her look in her mothers eyes.

Margaret: ''it's a sin to consort with her''.

Young Carrie:'' I am sorry mama, I am sorry mama…I forgot''

. A young Carrie starts crying.

Billy Nolan watches as the young girl started crying. He felt a twinge of pity. The stupid shit was clearly familiar with her mother's wrath. Bored, he looks around and sees the uncomfortable faces of the other people in the room.

Better get used to this.

There was no way of saying when they would be released by whom or whatever was holding them trapped in this room. The girl in question seemed to do better than the rest of them though. She was talking with that gym teacher and the blond bimbo that decided to sit with them a while ago, but still he couldn't shake the feeling something was off about her. Something was different about her then before but what? Ignoring his girlfriend, he turns his eyes back to the screen. The sooner they were done, the sooner they all could leave.

From the other side, an older woman appears. She resembles Estelle Horan. Margaret turns to the two women in anger.

Margaret: ''Your daughter's a...''.

''You let her expose herself to the world like that''.

The population of Chamberlain watches with their mouth open. They can't believe Margareth had the actually guts to says that right in front of a mother and daughter.

Mrs Horan: ''Get out of here Margaret, leave my daughter alone''.

''If she had said that to you or our daughter, I would have punched her in the face''.

''Consequences be damned!'' Said Mr Spies to his wife.

The screen zooms in on Carrie and Margaret. A young Carrie is still crying. Out of nowhere hail appears from the sky.

The room watched the hail, confusing clear on their faces.

''Isn't this in the Summer? Asks Mrs Wilson to no one in particular. All the while Carrie feels herself getting warmer.

Daughter and mother watch as it falls to the ground. Soon more and more hail starts to fall.

The whispers had become louder with no one knowing where the hail came from. Especially the Wilsons were vocal about how this couldn't be scientificly possible. The people that had lived longer in Chamberlain were the only ones that were quite. They rememberd the old rumors and stories from neigbours of Margaret about a similar incident. About stones and hail appearing out of nowhere and destroying everything in their path. One look at the faces of the people of Carlin Street told them everything they needed to know.

While the rest of the room looks confused, they look vindicated. Mrs. Snell heard old Mrs. Kirk saying smugly to her daughter and son in law that she had been right. Among other things.

It had been true after all? Well, it looks like she owns some people an apology.

Estelle Horan and her mother watch in disbelief while Margaret faces her daughter.

Margaret: ''Jesus forgives you''.

The hail continues.

Margaret: ''Just stop''.

Margaret holds Carrie while she runs to their house.

Margaret: ''Just stop''!

Stop?

Stop what? The hail? People snorted in disbelief. Did Margaret believe that Carrie was making the hail appear? But that was impossible, right? Suddenly a light switch went off in people's minds. The moving tampons, the scene in the principal's office, the floating glass in the girls toilet. All of them had one thing in common; Carrie had been there.

Had it been her?

The revelation shook them to their very core. But how? While the other people in the room were having a mental breakdown, Freddy Holt watched the scene in front of him. Was what they were seeing telekinises? Did his shy classmate have the same powers as some of his favorite comic superheroes?

When they are inside, a huge piece of hail hits their house missing them by seconds and hitting the screen. The screen turns black.

The people in the room watch as the screen turns black. Shock, disbelief and slight fear is writing on the faces of many. They turn to Carrie, waiting for an explanation. Carrie feels herself shrinking under their stares. She knows there is no point in denying after everything they had seen. There had been too many incidents. She could hear them all in her mind coming to the same conclusion that she had something to do with it.

Beside her, Miss Desjardin looks at her, her face unreadable. But inside, she is just as shocked as the rest. Her mind is a whirlwind of thoughts.

Please don't be mad at me.

Rita looks at Carrie. Her lips had not moved but she could have sworn she had heard her students voice.

I will be good I promise, please don't hate me.

Rita watches her student as the same thing happens again. It takes her longer then she will admit before it hits her. Carrie is talking with her. Her lips aren't moving and yet the girl is talking with her. She laughs and then cries, the strangeness of the day finally catching up with her. She must look like a crazy person to the rest of them, especially Morton but she can't help herself.

Once she calms down the meaning of Carrie's words settled in. The laughing stops soon after. The girl was scared, which wasn't that strange. Half the room was watching her in awe while the other half looked at her like she was some exotic zoo animal. Rita felt her protective instincts flaring up at the looks her student was getting. Whatever this was, Carrie did not deserve to be treated as something to gawk at. She had been treated as such long enough. So, as Carrie's new self appointed protector she decided to act before the situation could get out of hand. She whistled loudly and soon the attention of everyone was on her instead of Carrie.

"I guess you all have questions, I have too but...". Before she could finish the sentence she was interupted.

"What!"

"But!"

"But I want to know how she did that!"

"Why? It is clear that Carrie has telekinetic powers." Says Freddy Holt. When Freddy notices he said that aloud, his eyes go wide and he puts his hands on his mouth.

"What?!" Screams the crowd. Most of them were not surprised, having suspected something like that themselves, but it was strange to hear someone say it outloud.

Nikkie Wilson snorted in disbelief at the statement.

"Yeah right, geek". Says Nikki.

"Telekineses doesn't excist, it has never been scientificly proved". Continues Lizzy, convinced that she is right.

"It does!" Screams Malcom Palmer. He stands up ready to defend his friend.

"You all read to many comic books, this is the real world!" Screams Ruth Gogan.

"You mean the real world were we are watching a video about our future?" Says Heather Shrys.

Carrie watches the discussion getting bigger and louder from her chair with the adults trying and failing to calm their children down. In fact, some adults join the discussion with Mrs and Mr Holt and the Wilsons parents at the front. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. The noises they are making and the noices from inside their minds are getting louder and louder. She looks to her fighting classmates. Suddenly, she hears a voice.

Trust them.

She looks around but everyone is still arguing. Mrs Desjardin and Jessica are in front of her protecting her from curious eyes.

Show them, that way you can control the narrotive. You can trust them.

''Are you the one that brough us here?"

Yes

A feeling of anger comes over her.

"Why? Why did you show them all of this?!"

I understand that you are upset and I am so sorry for that, but this was the only way to fix things. Trust them, trust Miss Desjardin and Jessica. Did they not defend you once they saw Margaret hurting you? There are more people in your corner then you think.

''Okay, but if something happens, I want you to open the doors so I can run''.

Deal. What do you have in mind?

Take a deep breath, Push.

"And that's the reason why telekineses doesn't exist, Holt." Says Ruth in triumph, convinced of her point of view.

''I have to agree with Ruth, I mean wouldn't we have noticed something if Carrie had these powers?" Says Lila Thibodeau.

''Yeah." Says Tina Blake, Chris Hargenson and the Wilson twins. The girls are secretly terrified though what Carrie could do to them.

But if Carrie had these powers, why didn't she use them before to hurt them or defend herself? The idea that Carrie White of all people could move things with her mind was ridiculous.

Ruth shakes her head. There had to be another explanation.

If asked later, people would not be able to pinpoint when they first noticed it.

They were so busy people arguing and trying to discover they truth, that the first few feet went unnoticed. It wasn't till the chairs were getting higher and higher, slowly being lifted from the ground that people noticed it. The people not floating could only stare at the students with their mouths right open while a miracle unfolded before there very own eyes. The chairs of Ruth Gogan, Freddy Holt and Norma Watson were floating in the air with the three students still in it. The three students didn't seem to notice, Ruth and Freddy were still arguing, with Freddy angrily defending Carrie. It wasn't till 10 minutes later they begin to notice something. Ruth looked at Freddy and noticed that something was different.

Were the walls always this color?

"What's wrong?". Mutters Ruth as Heather looks up at her with awe.

"Look around you". Ruth rolls her eyes, but does what Heather says. Her fellow students are several feet under her. Her chair and her are floating. One look at Watson and Holt confirms that they are in the same boat as her. Once the shock wears off, she starts screaming like a banshee.

"Put me down!"

Immediatly, the chairs go back to the ground, but at a quiet pace, as to not scare the three students and their worried parents and friends.

"Awwwww, Carrie!". Whines Freddy Holt, who was just starting to enjoy himself. "Can you do that one more time, please. I felt like Superman."

"Freddy Holt this is not a game". Says Mrs Holt sternly. Principal Morton stands up and takes the word.

"Your mother is right, Mr Holt". He then turns around and looks at Carrie. "And your full of surprises, aren't you Mrs White?" Carrie blushes at the compliment.

"Yeah, that is so cool Carrie!"

"Girl, how did you do that?"

"I wish I could do that too!" Carrie feels relief at the positive attention and relaxes a bit.

"Excuse me, Carrie?" Says Mr Holt as Carrie looks at him.

"I don't know what to say. I'm a scientist and I have seen many things, but I can't understand how this is possible". Carrie shakes her head at the confused faces of some of the adults and students.

"I don't know it either, sir". Carrie says with a frown. "It is all so new. Till half an hour ago I didn't know I could do this." She looks down with nervousness.

''How couldn't you know you had these powers? Asks Chris Hargenson skeptical.

''We all saw you using them against your bitch of a mother, while you were like 3?" Carrie looks at her hands.

"I remember doing some things when I was little, but I always thought those memories were fake, some fragments of my own imagination".

Explains Carrie. She avoids the curious looks. She wasn't ready to share everything now, if ever with everyone here, but she would not let Chris Hargenson make a fool out of her.

"Of course that's understandable, you were still so young... Says Eleanor Snell.

But Margaret knew you had these powers the entire time and she never told you?". Asks Eleanor Snell.

"Yes". Says Carrie as The people in the room look shocked.

"You mean she abused you, while she knew you could do things like that?'' Mr Ullmann. Rita Desjardin threw the men a look for his lack of tact.

"Yes." Carrie looked uncomfortable when she said this.

The crowd is silent for a few minutes; Slowly taking everything in that they were told. Billy Nolan looks at Carrie with interest.

"Hey you"

"Yes". Says Carrie timidly.

"So like what are you capable, what is the extend of these powers?" Billy Nolan asks as the crowd looks up.

''I can move things if I concentrate hard enough, like bottles and chairs, but it can be exchausting''. Says Carrie. She stops feeling anxiety overtake her. While most people look at her with kindness, some of them throw her scared looks or looks full of envy. She is surprised to see that Chris Hargenson is one of them.

Mrs Desjardin noticing her anxiety, smiles at her, encouraging her to keep going.

She takes a breath, taking some time before she continues.

''At least it was when I was a little girl'' Continues Carrie. "What you just saw... that happened only once so I don't know what the extend of my powers is''. She doesn't want them to get the wrong picture. "Oh, and I also can sometimes read peoples mind." Before people can react to that, Freddy Holt intervernce.

''Well, I think it is awesome what you can do and I hope this movie will tell us more about your powers. And if not maybe I and my father could help you'' Says Freddy Holt as The older Holt nodded.

"That's a great idea son, if Mrs White wants my help that is." Says Mr Holt as Carrie smiles shyly.

''I wouldn't mind." Says Carrie. Both men try containing their excitement and fail utterly to the exceneration of Mrs Holt.

''So you don't have visions about the future?'' Asks Billy Nolan. Everyone's attention goes once again to the young man.

''No''Says Carrie.

''Pity, but there sure are other ways you can use your powers''. Says Billy Nolan. The crowd looks confused before they understand what Billy Nolan means.

"Mr Nolan!".Billy Nolan shakes his head and laughs.

"Come on, Like you all haven't thought about it!" He looks at Mr. Dean: the trainer of the lacrosse team.

"She can make sure Ewen High never loses again at sports." Says Billy Nolan as Principal Morton sees the greedy look on Mr. Dean's face and some of the lacrosse players and their parents and he decides its time to stop this.

"That's enough Mr Nolan". Warns Principal Morton. "Carrie is not a thing you or others can use for your own gain." Mr Dean, the lacrosse players and the parents look slightly guilthy. But Billy Nolan just stares back. Miss Desjardin throws him a gratefull look.

Thankfully they all back down.

"Does anyone else have questions" Asks Principal Morton as everyone shakes their head.

''Well then, I think it is best to continue watching the movie." The people in the room groan.

''You mean we still haven't finished it yet." Moans Vicky Hanscome and Tina Blake.

''I'm afraid not, please go back all to your seats''. Says Principal the room prepares to continue their earlier activity, Miss Desjardin and Jessica Upshaw turn to Carrie.

''Soooo…" Says Jessica as Carrie smiles at the two woman. A real smile, with full teeth.

''I know you don't have to explain."

The screen changes and the movie starts again.

And done. Cut!

I hope you all like this chapter. I am so happy I found some way to include this famous scene and the new reactions on Carrie's powers.

To clarify things, in my headcannon and if I remember correctly also in cannon, Carrie surpressed a lot of her memories about her powers after the Rain of Stones incident. There where afterward still some moments that she used her powers but they were always brushed aside by both Carrie and her classmates/teachers and Margareth. That and the amount of power it took her at 3 years old to create the Rain of Stones incident must have costed a lot of energy. Now she knows everything she won't be afraid to use them.

The rest of Chamberlain is in the main time kind of in shock and coming to terms with everything they have seen so far. And while a few of them are slightly afraid, most of them still see Carrie as a timid and abused girl and don't think she is capable of seriously hurting people. It's hard to fear someone when you see their mother beating the shit out off them or getting bullied by her classmates.

At this point they see Carrie, but at the same time they do not, not really. It's no excuse, but it is to show that the people of Chamberlain are still arrogant and still living in their own bubble. They are in for a rude awakening.

Some of you may have noticed that some sentences are in italic. Those are meant to represent Carrie reading peoples mind and people thinking instead of saying things aloud. If something is unclear let me know and I will try to clarify things more.

Reviews are much appreciated and give me extra motivation to write so please let me know what you think!

P.s My translater and fellow fanfic writer CalvinHobbesGatsby has decided to post a watching the movie fanfic too! This one is about The Rage Carrie 2 and for those who don't know about it, it is a sequel to the 1976 version of Carrie. While it doesn't hold a candle to the original (in my opinion), it is not a bad movie and the actress that played a young Sue Snell a now adult Sue Snell. So I say give it a shot, I think you might like it. The plot is good and her writing is very clear.

Till next time!
