Double Dare, Part 1:

NOTES: This story is based on the popular children's game show on the Nickelodeon network, 'Double Dare.'

Zeta's outfit is this story is based on a picture called 'Sorcerenie Zeta' by Deviantart user MajesticMoose2000.

This story was inspired by Deviantart user GameShowFanfics.

It's been two weeks since Zeta had her new baby boy, Morain. The morning of August 4, Shimmer, Shine, Leah, Zac, and Kaz were flying on 2 magic carpets towards the genie arena in the sky, where the Zoomicorn Toss competitions were held. They were called to arrive at the arena as soon as possible. However, where they got there, they saw a high floor, floating in mid-air, with the popcorn and audience seating stands on it. Everyone wondered what was happening...

Shimmer: What's going on?

Shine: I don't know.

Zeta: (off-screen) Hello, fellow genies and humans!

The genies and kids saw Zeta, holding her son, Morain. However, she was wearing something different today. While she still had on her dark blue train, she was now wearing genie cuffs, pants, and shoes instead of her regular sorceresses clothing.

Leah: (chuckles) Well, Zeta, you look... different today.

Zeta: I don't have to wear the same outfit every day, do I? (giggles)

Everyone shook their heads. The referee genie from the episode 'Zoomicorn Toss' appears...

Referee Genie: Welcome, Shimmer, Shine, Kaz, Leah, and Zac! I called you here to see if you wanted to compete in Zahramay Falls first 'Double Dare' competition!

Shimmer/Shine: 'Double Dare?'

Leah: I've seen it. It's a children's game show, isn't it?

Zac: Yeah, me and Leah watched some episodes online!

Kaz: Referee, how do you know about it?

R.G.: Well, Zeta and Marlin introduced me to the show. After watching several episodes, I wanted to do a 'Double Dare' based event in Zahramay Falls!'

Shimmer: Are me and Shine going to compete against Zeta again?

Zeta: (sighs sadly) I can't do it this time, Shine. I'm still resting with having my child, so I can't do much physical activity yet.

Shine: Oh, I see.

R.G.: However, you twin genies will be competing against your human masters, Leah and Zac!

Zac: Wait... does this mean... (in excitement) we'll get to play the first game?!

Leah: This is great!

The referee genie used magic to provide an exact replica of the 'Double Dare' set! There was a host podium in the middle, with two contestant podiums and digital scoreboards on each side.

Zeta: I'll be in the audience with my family, rooting you on! (laughs) Good luck!

Shimmer, Shine, Leah, and Zac smiled at the sorcerenie as she walked away, holding Morain. Kaz replied, 'I'll gonna get some popcorn before the game starts. Have a fun time!

Shimmer: Thanks, guys!

Leah: This is going to be so fun!

The stage was lighting up. Zeta, (holding Morain) Marlin, Kaz, Calady, and Mary were in one audience stand, while many genies were in others. The referee genie came out to start the game...

R.G.: Welcome all magical beings, this is a brand-new game to us that was based on a TV game show in the real world, Double Dare!

The audience cheered, when R.G. motioned Shimmer, Shine, Leah, and Zac to the center stage...

R.G: It's genies vs, humans! Genies to the left, humans to the right!

(The 'Double Dare' theme by Edd Kalehoff plays)

Everyone did as they were told, and then, the R.G. magically had 2 boxed of ping pong balls and 2 pairs of cymbals appear on the stage.

R.G.: For our first toss-up challenge, one of you will be bouncing a ping pong ball to your partner, who will then catch it by clasping the cymbals together, which they then have to drop into the tube by the feet. The first team to get 3 balls into the tube will win 10 points and control of round one. Shimmer would be bouncing the ping pong balls to Shine, when Leah would be bouncing the balls to Zac.

(The 'Double Dare' theme ends)

R.G.: On your mark, get set, Go!

('D.D. Toss Up Challenge' cue plays)

Both teams bounced ping pong balls to their partners. They kept missing them for a while. Eventually, the genies got the hang of it, and Shine caught a ball clasping her cymbals, and carefully put her first one in the tube. Soon, Zac got a ball, and put it in the tube. The stunt continues, and soon after, the genies managed to get their second ball in the tube. Then the humans shortly got the second ball as well. It came down to the last play. It was a close race, but the genies successfully got the third ball and put it in the tube, with the audience cheering...

(Cue music ends)

R.G.: Shimmer and Shine finished the challenge first. That's 10 points for them. Let's get back to play some 'Double Dare.'

Shimmer, Shine, Leah, Zac, and R.G. went over to their podium to play the game...

R.G.: Congratulations, genies! For winning the toss-up challenge, you girls get 10 points. Now, I'm going to ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, or think Leah and Zac don't have a clue, you can dare them to answer it for double the points. But you gotta be careful, because Leah and Zac can double dare you right back for 4 times the points. At that point, you either have to answer the question or take a physical challenge. All right, Shimmer and Shine, here's the first question for 10 points: What is the official language of France?

Shimmer: French!

R.G.: That's correct! You get another 10 points, which brings you up to 20 points. Next question: In the Frozen films, what kingdom are Anna and Elsa from? Corona or Arendelle?

Shine: Arrendale!

R.G.: Correct again! 10 more points give you 30! Here's the next question: What does one dozen, one baker's dozen, and one gross add up to?

Shimmer and Shine huddle together, whispering to each other...

R.G.: The question is worth 10 points, or you can dare them.

Shimmer: Dare.

R.G.: All right, Leah and Zac, you're in the game. It's worth 20 points to you if you know the answer, or you can double dare them back.

Leah and Zac also huddle together, and whisper, before Leah replies, 'Double Dare.'

R.G.: All right, back to you genies. Now worth 40 points or take a physical challenge.

Shimmer: Physical challenge.

R.G.: Okay, well, a dozen is 12, a baker's dozen is 13, and a gross is 144, and it equals to 169. So, Shimmer and Shine, come down here as we do our first physical challenge.

The genies walked to the center stage, where a cart pulled up...

R.G.: Alright, genies, do either of you like soup?

Shine: Absolutely!

Shimmer: Yes, we like it.

R.G.: Well, today, you're both going to make 'Egg Drop' soup! I need one of you to sit next to the cart. (Shine comes over and does that)

Okay, now Shine, hold that bowl over your head, because what you're gonna do, Shimmer, is drop the 4 ingredients of the egg

soup, and drop them in the bowl your sister is holding. Water from the bowl using the ladle, raw egg, noodles, and fortune cookies.

If you can do that in 15 seconds, you get 40 points and retain control. Ready?

Shimmer/Shine: Ready!

R.G.: On your mark, get set, Go!

('D.D. Physical Challenge' cue plays)

Shimmer grabbed the ladle, and poured the water from high up into the bowl, (and on her sister's head) then threw down some raw egg, the noodles, and the fortune cookies, which splattered all over Shine, but got everything in the bowl with 3 seconds left.

(cue ends)

R.G.: All right, congrats girls! You completed the physical challenge in time! Let's go back!

R.G., Shimmer, and Shine return to the podiums...

R.G.: Shimmer and Shine, that 40 points bump you up to 70. You retain control. Here's another question: When the moon appears to block the sun, as seen from earth, what is the event called?

Shimmer: A solar eclipse!

R.G.: Wow, Shimmer and Shine, you're on a roll! Another 10 points for you. What melted rock eventually becomes lava?

Shine: Magma!

R.G: Correct! You have 90 points. Leah and Zac, are you kids doing alright?

Leah: Yeah, we're fine.

Zac: Just chillin'. It happens. Happens a lot.

R.G.: Okay, then. Shimmer and Shine: For 10 more points:

What is Sheldon Cooper's occupation on the TV show 'The Big Bang Theory?'

Shimmer and Shine huddle and whisper...

Shimmer: Do you know this?

Shine: I can't remember.

R.G.: It's worth 10 points, or you can dare.

Shine: Dare.

R.G.: All right, Leah and Zac, for 20 points, What is Sheldon's job on the Big Bang Theory?

Leah and Zac huddled together, and whispered. Zac answered, 'Is he a physicist?'

R.G.: That's correct! Sheldon Cooper is a theoretical physicist, You're both now on the board with 20 points!

(Buzzer sounds)

R.G.: All right, everyone, that's the end of Round 1!

(Double Dare commercial cue plays)

R.G.: Shimmer and Shine are in the lead with 90 points, and Leah and Zac are on the board with 20. But things can change in Round 2. We'll return to play more Double Dare after a brief intermission.

(Cue ends)
