Chapter 83 – Leaving for Life Day
Luke and Ines were at the Coruscant Hangar Bay, since they decided to go with the students that didn't live there, and make sure they were sent towards the systems where they live for the next month and half, to celebrate Life Day and the New Years.
"See you next year," Ines smiled at them.
"Bye Master Luke! Bye Master Ines! Bye Lukie," Alena and Ieneh said, tickling Luke's Jr cheek, making the little boy smile at them.
"Have a nice trip to Tatooine both of you." Luke said to them with a smile on his face.
"We will. Even if we didn't mind to spend here," Alena said. They knew she didn't like sand and heat.
"I know, but Tatooine is a more safe with two great Jedi like you two there to support our friend there," Luke said, making them nod, since they knew which friend he was talking about.
"We know," Ieneh replied.
"Be safe and say hi to your parents okay?" Ines said and wave, when they left, laughing when her baby imitated her and wave at them too.
That moment, Luna appeared with Davi and his parents. Davi's parents were separated for a while, but a few months ago they decided to give their wedding another chance, which made Luke and Ines happy, since Davi was very happy with that.
"Hello," Luna said smiling.
"Hey Luna, Davi. Hello to you too," Ines smile at them. "Are you leaving to Naboo too?"
"Yes. We are going with Senator Luma and Commander Reed, since they will spend Life Day's there in Varykino and stay there for the wedding."
"That's right, they will spend the day there," Luke said.
"And I see Davi and his parents will go too, right?" Ines asked.
"Luna's uncle and aunt were kind enough to invite us and why not? We never be in Varykino before," Davi's mother replied.
"You will love it. Specially during this time. I bet it will look beautiful with the trees and decorations." Ines told her.
"We will stay for the wedding too. Senator Luma and Commander Reed were so kind to invite us for it," Davi's father replied.
"You don't need to thank us," they heard behind them, and turning around they saw Luna and Reed approaching.
"Hey you two," Luke said hugging Luna and Reed. "Congrats for the promotion to Commander."
"It is well deserved Reed," Ines nod.
"Thank you." Reed smiled at them.
"We will be waiting for all of you in 3 weeks," Luna replied. "And I heard, and don't worry Ines, when you arrived the first week of New Years month, you will have all decorations and the beautiful trees inside your home there." Luna laughed at her friend.
"I'm counting them and you know the girls want that too."
"I made sure Yolla would decorate the whole mansion," Luna said and hugged Ines and Luke. "Let's go, because I want to leave before the fog started to hit the system."
"Oh yeah, it will started tonight and we can see since the temperatures dropped a little today, so it will be a cold weekend," Luke nod.
Then they heard the announcement that the ship for Naboo was ready to leave.
"You better go. Have a nice trip," Ines said waving and once again laughing when her baby wave too.
"We better go to the Temple, get the kids and maybe stop at Dex and take dinner, so we can go to Han's and Leia home to see the Tree." Luke told his wife wrapping his left arm around her shoulders.
"What a great idea. I love you," Ines smiled at him kissing him on the lips.
"I know you do," he winked at her, and they left the hangar towards the Temple that were beautiful decorated with the big Tree at the center of the Temple and the many small trees all around the Temple.
Later after dinner at the Solo Apartment:
It was around 10pm when the Skywalkers with R2 entered in Han's and Leia's apartment. The moment they did, Bail and Ani ran towards their uncle and aunt and grabbed their hands.
"Uncle Luke! Aunt Ines, come look at our tree!" they said at the same time, pulling them towards the big tree, at the corner of the living room.
"That is a very beautiful tree," Luke nod looking at the illuminated tree, that just like theirs were sparkling with different lights of different colors.
"I see you two did the best this year with the tree," Ines said looking at Han and Leia and walked towards them, putting baby Luke in the floor.
"Well this is all our sister in law and niece and nephews. I had nothing to do with that, especially that stupid decorations, you two bought," Han said smiling down at his youngest nephew who, walked towards the tree right away, looking at the lights shining on and off.
"You didn't like it either," Luke replied sitting on the couch next to his wife.
"What do you think!" Leia said looking at her husband and then back to her brother.
"I think it is cute and I loved it," Iris said smiling.
Luke Jr, was looking up and pointed at the tree.
"Li!" he said looking back to the adults, giggling.
"He loves the tree, especially the lights when go on and off. He keeps looking at our tree, and to his and his brother small tree, they had on their bedroom." Ines smiled at her baby boy. "Yes sweetie, that's the lights. Just like in our Tree."
"He is older now. The boys were the same when they had their age," Leia said, missing those times when the boys were still toddlers. Now they were almost 5 years old and getting so big.
Han stood up and reaching the toddler, he picked him up.
The moment he did that, the baby saw his father's figurine, and pointed at it, looking at his uncle.
"Dada."
"That's right. And whose that?"
"Mama!"
"And this one?" Han kept pointing to the figurines.
"Un." he said pointing at him.
"And this one?"
"Au," he said pointing at Leia.
"And this one?"
"Chew!" he said looking around looking for the Uncle Wookiee.
"He is not here baby, Uncle Chewie is with his family for Life Day. But you will see him next month." Luke said to his son.
"Okay, Back to us," Han said. "This one?"
"Too" the baby said pointing at R2 who beeped.
"And that one?"
"C" he said pointing to 3PO.
"And this one?"
Luke stare at the figurine and looked at his uncle.
"That's Lando. You don't know him yet, but you will next month, since he will be at the wedding too."
"He could come this week and celebrate Life Day with us," Ines said.
"We told him that, but he prefer to spend that holiday with his now wife." Leia said.
"I still can't believe Lando got married and didn't told us anything." Luke replied.
"Well they had too before the tummy shows up," Leia nod making everyone laugh.
"Lando being Lando," Han said and then looked at his nephew. "And you are sooo smart, like uncle Han."
"No, Mama!" he said shaking his head and point at his mother.
"What do you mean no! Are you saying I'm not smart! And your mother is smarter than me?"
"Ye!" he said nodding.
"What! Why you little.." he said and started tickling the baby who started laughing, while they had to the couch and sat next to them.
"Did you notice that it is already a little foggy outside?" Luke asked, "And cold. I went outside to put the garbage out before we came here and it was chilly already."
"It will be an interesting weekend," Han replied putting his nephew on the floor, who went towards his mother, who picked him up, smiling when the toddler rest his head on his mother chest sucking his thumb.
"Well why you guys don't spend the afternoon at our home, and stay for dinner, since we have a lot to talk for Life Day's Eve, about who goes, and for the boys birthday the next day also at the Temple?" Ines asked looking at her husband who nod.
"That's a great idea, and at least the kids will busy with each other," he laughed looking at his sister and brother in law.
"That will be great, cause we need to plan everything and since we can't go anywhere for the next 2 days, it will useful." Leia nod.
"Sure, I agree," Han agreed.
"Then we will be waiting," Ines said looking at her son who eyes started to close.
"I think this is telling us to get back to our apartment two floors above yours," Luke smiled looking at his son.
"We need to rest too cause it was a long day," Leia nod. "See you tomorrow then," she said when they all stood up and her brother and sister in law left to their home with the kids.
Baby Luke is such a smart kid. What Lando got married and being a father.
