The Specter Family Chronicles
Holiday Special Year One
Chapter Eight: Anniversaries, and
Christmas Planning
December 12th, 2017
Specter Family House
Greystone, Massachusetts
It's almost two pm when they finally arrive back in snow covered Greystone. Immediately there is a flurry of Specters, wrangling kids, unpacking things from cars, and shouting about what needed to be done, and who had 'dibs on the laundry first'. Mike had woken not long before they pulled into the driveway, still a little groggy from the pain meds, and the fact that his boyfriend still hasn't remembered their anniversary. Mike had gotten something for Harvey, he could just give it to him. He doesn't need a reason to give Harvey a gift, but he's also trying to make the man remember on his own, and for the previous three months, he's been good about it. Mike could understand if the packing to come home, and the upcoming Christmas preparations were a lot on everyone's minds, but Mike managed to remember. I shouldn't be mad at him. I'm not going to be mad at him. He still has the rest of the day. Maybe he's just pretending that he doesn't know... Mike thought to himself, as he took their bags upstairs and deposited them in Harvey's room. The secret bag that he'd had to hide in the back of the car had been brought upstairs by Molly, who winked and told him to hide it somewhere that Harvey wouldn't notice it. Within this room, there aren't many places that could be. Mike chose the back of the closet, behind some old boxes that had been left there, probably from years past. Mike took a moment, in the silence of the room, to think. A lot had happened in such a short time. Harvey had asked him to move in with him, he'd basically cemented his membership into the Specter Family, even though he and Harvey weren't married… a lot has happened. When Donna told him that being with Harvey was going to change everything, Mike hadn't known what she'd meant, but he thinks he does now. Everything has changed. He isn't the same person he used to be, and neither is Harvey. He's seen a side of his boss that he never saw before this trip, a side that he doesn't think he'll ever be able to not see. Mike never thought he would ever know what it's like to have a family, but this has been the most… amazing experience he's ever had. He feels like he's a part of a family, and that feeling was so foreign to him, but now he thinks it's becoming a part of him.
Harvey was helping his brothers and father to put things away in their garage when his phone chimed with a text, and then an influx of them came. Most of them were from Jessica, informing Harvey of Louis' case changes, that she needed those files copied and sent to her by the fifteenth. Harvey sent her a reply to all ten of her messages, with the angry face emoji, then opened the one from Donna. He did a double take when he read it. Damien walked in just as Harvey was figuring something out in his mind, and asked his brother if he was alright, to which Harvey just looked up at him and asked him the date. Damien replied that it was the twelfth, and Harvey began swearing and typing something into his phone. Marcus, hearing the commotion, asked what was going on, and if Harvey could not swear so loudly in front of the kids. He watched his brother pace back and forth, fingers flying over the buttons on his phone like lightning. Harvey was muttering things under his breath, still swearing but not too loudly. Marcus stopped his brother mid pace and asked him what was going on. When Harvey looked up at him, Damien slapped his head, and Harvey just said that he'd forgotten his anniversary, to which both of the boys made sounds akin to hissing, telling Harvey he better do something special to make it up to Mike. Harvey knew that was true, and he was trying to make a reservation at a restaurant, but nothing was free, everything was booked out. He'd texted Donna to ask for her help, and she had just sent him a bunch of emojis telling him he was an idiot for forgetting and telling her with such late notice. Harvey runs out of the garage, and basically bursts in the house, running up the stairs, ignoring his mother scolding him for running in the house. He bursts into his bedroom, and seeing it empty, falls back onto his bed. How could I forget? The last two months I'd remembered... damn it… he thought to himself. He hopes that Donna will come through for him, otherwise he's going to be so totally screwed… but not by Mike. Harvey is still lying on his bed, looking up at the ceiling, running his hands through his hair when his sister finds him, having heard from Damien that he'd forgotten his anniversary. Harvey just looked over at her, not saying a word. He's already feeling guilty enough he doesn't need anyone else piling on top of that. His phone chimes with a text from Donna and he fumbles with it in his attempts to read it.
'You stupid idiot. Me, being the amazing Donna, managed to get you a reservation at Pezos' for tonight at seven thirty. You owe me a big present when you get back to New York,' Donna said in her text.
'Donna, you are the best. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I will buy you anything that you want. Thank you,' Harvey replied, sighing with relief.
'Donna came through in the end,' Mike said from the doorway, and Harvey sat up immediately.
'Mike, I'm so sorry. It's just… with everything, and then packing and Christmas… it slipped my mind. I'm sorry baby. I have reservations for us tonight. Better late than never?' he asked, raising an eyebrow, Mike just smiled and kissed him.
Helena wasn't lying when she said that she would have an itinerary ready for them by the end of the day. She had been in the office, working on it, slaving away at the computer, ignoring her kids, leaving them to Peter, who had decided to get their help in beginning to decorate the house. Most of the houses in the street were starting to put their outside decorations up, and whilst Lily and Molly were working on the inside ones, Richard was decently ahead with the outdoor decorations. Mike had never really cared about all the 'decorating' hype. Well, he lived in an apartment as well, so that could be a reason, but he didn't even really decorate inside there until he met Rachel, and she felt that it was 'unforgivable' and brought him some silly little things he could hang up, and a small tree that he could put up near his window. So, Mike had done that, played into the hype that came with decorating for Christmas, and that was that. Now though, he has never seen something like this. His parents used to decorate their house; it was one of the brightest on the street. Trevor always used to say that it was like a beacon that Mike would always be able to find his way back to that house because it was so bright. It was one of the more reasonable things Trevor had said in his life. When he moved in with Grammy, he was still young, and she couldn't decorate the outside of the house, so when he got older, they just never worried too much about it. They had a tree they would decorate together, and Mike would put up a few lights here and there, but to the extent that some people go… he could never imagine it. Harvey is fiddling around with a string of lights in the garage, trying to untangle them, whilst Marcus winds them up in a more 'suitable' way. Richard had put the boys on 'light duty', but Harvey and Marcus had groaned because they knew the way their father stored things… just throw it in the box, and deal with it next year. That's why it took them almost an hour to get the lights just untangled, then another hour to put them up. Mike couldn't deny, watching Harvey put up those lights was one of the highlights of his day. It was even better when Helena caught him staring at her brother, and he almost tripped over his own feet. He was blushing as read as a tomato but laughed along with the girls.
Mike had been given the task of entertaining the children. He had been nervous about it, because he doesn't know the first thing about entertaining kids, but they were surprisingly good about just doing their own things. Mike played with the girls, who were playing the Game of Life. He joined in, and they formed some kind of bond with Mike, which is why he thinks he was put in charge of looking after them. Soon, the rest of the kids wanted to join the game, so they sat around and restarted the game, inviting the other kids to play. Helena had been so worried because the kids were too quiet, that she had come in to check on them, and was so shocked to see them playing a board game, that she almost tripped over a pair of shoes in her effort to snap a picture. Peter too, was worried because the kids had gone quiet. He went in to check on his wife as well and found the scene. Mike had them all wrapped around his fingers, they were laughing and just all getting along, it was something that had never happened… basically ever. Of course, they got along, but it was mostly with more yelling and no one 'being nice'. Helena took a picture, intent on showing Harvey, figuring that in the future, if he and Mike decide to adopt, at least this will be a good reference for them. Peter asked them who was winning, and Bridget grinned, stating that she was, but that Caroline wasn't far behind her. Helena and Peter went back to their jobs, helping to set things up and decorate, and when they moved into the living room to set things up, they noticed all the kids and Mike looking intense. Harvey had been putting last minute things together for his anniversary, so when he walked into the living room to find Mike, he wasn't expecting the sight that was presented to him. His boyfriend was sitting on the floor, legs crossed, eyebrow raised, watching as Caroline made her move down the board, and the rest of the kids waited, as if this would somehow change the whole entire game. He soon realised though, that Caroline had won, because she had made it to the end. She stood up and did a happy dance, whilst the others all pretended to be sad by their loss. Mike was the last one to 'retire' looking up at their crowd, who had made themselves comfortable to watch them.
'Dad, I won. I got to retire at the best place, and had the most money and the biggest house,' Caroline said, running over to her father.
'Yeah, she was really clever too. I wasted all my cash. Had to retire cheap. I was an architect though,' Braiden said, holding up the careers card, all the other kids held up theirs
'What career did Mike have?' Molly asked, noticing the man smirk and then smile.
'I was a kick-butt lawyer!' Mike said, holding up his card to show the crowd, and Harvey just looked at him with his 'oh really' look, before winking
At six-thirty, Mike was getting ready to go out on his and Harvey's anniversary date, that Donna had planned, even though his boyfriend tried to take credit for it. He wasn't complaining though. He knew what Donna could do if she had the time. Harvey told him that Pezos was a nice place, and that he should probably 'wear his best suit', which in Harvey speak means 'that suit that you wore to the office once that I totally couldn't stop looking at you in, that hugged you butt and your body in all the right places'. Okay, so he hadn't actually said that, but the look he'd given Mike was clear enough. To get him back for temporarily forgetting their anniversary, Mike was going to wear that suit, just to mess with him a little. He'd also brought a 'real tie', but decided to go with a skinny tie, to pull the look together. Harvey had made Mike get ready in his sisters' room, so that he could be surprised, it's not like they're getting married, but he was happy to oblige his boyfriend his wish. Helena and Molly had come upstairs, one had gone to help Mike, the other had gone to help Harvey. There was a small squeak from Mike, he wasn't expecting anyone to enter the room, so when Molly did, he was surprised. She walked over to him and brushed some imaginary dirt off his shoulder. Mike had said that he wasn't sure what to expect from the night, but Molly raised an eyebrow at him, in the patented Specter way, also employing the patented Specter smirk. Mike apparently had that sometimes as well, but he refused to acknowledge that he was using Harvey's facial expressions. For the most part, Molly said that if she weren't married, and Mike weren't gay, she would totally tap that, to which the young lawyer chuckled, and thanked her. He wasn't used to getting compliments from people, usually Rachel would just say 'you look nice' and that would be it. Harvey, across the hall, was a little more… agitated isn't the right word… he was restless. Helena was being her loving, but annoying self, asking him about all the dirty things that he and Mike would be doing tonight, and if he could possibly 'lock the door' before any of that occurred. Harvey begged her, that tonight would not be the night that she and their brothers came into the room 'tin panning'. Helena just raised an eyebrow, smirking, and patted his shoulder. He's never been nervous about taking Mike out, but for some reason, here and now, he is. His sister wasn't being any help, and his mother, who met him at the bottom of the stairs, also wasn't being any help. She told him to be careful whilst driving in the snow, and that was that.
Harvey had distracted himself talking to Helena about some of the things she had put down on the itinerary for Christmas, and how he thought they were 'ridiculous' and 'childish', he also lamented that he and Mike would not be participating in Dare Week, but was lost in his thoughts when he saw Mike come down the stairs in that suit… Molly met Helena at the bottom of the stairs, wishing the two boys a lovely anniversary, then chuckling as they went off into another part of the house. Mike stood in front of Harvey, who was gaping at him, holding his winter coat. The young man checked his watch, noting that it was almost seven, and then told Harvey that they should get going if they want to make their reservation. He was out the door before Harvey would say anything else. The car ride was spent, mostly with Harvey trying to refrain from pawing at Mike. He smelt delicious, he looked delicious... what the fuck Harvey? Your boyfriend isn't a meal… he thought to himself, trying to rid himself of the dirty thoughts that had invaded his mind. Mike sat in the seat beside him, playing with his phone. He had text Donna to let her know that he was wearing The Suit and that she was right about his boyfriend's reaction. She had sent him back a winky face emoji. That was the extent of her text. Mike missed their New York friends. To be honest, he's surprised that Jessica gave them as much time off as she did. He hadn't done a lot of things for the firm, but apparently it had been enough for the woman to give them the time off to come down here and spend it with Harvey's family. Mike looked out the window as they entered the town of Greystone, seeing all the shop fronts decorated for the holidays, and the town square, and the snow that lined the ground. New York is similar, except for the giant Rockefeller Plaza tree that they have, and obviously all the buildings in the city haven't been decorated, because most of them are stories and stories high. He can't imagine what Harvey would have done to the Condo. It would probably involve a tree and some loose decorations here and there… he hadn't realised they'd arrived until Harvey was opening his door and helping him out of the car. Why am I nervous? It's not like it's our first date… Mike thought to himself as they made their way over to Pezos. When they got into the building, Harvey gave them his name and they followed their waitress over to their table.
'I will be right back with your menus,' the girl said, smiling and walking off
'Mike, you look amazing,' Harvey said, taking his boyfriend's hand and kissing it, Mike smiled.
'Thanks. You look amazing as well. Here, I um… I got you a small gift. I know we said we wouldn't, but I saw this, and I couldn't resist,' Mike said, placing the small package on to the table with a card.
'Mike, I love you,' Harvey said, sharing a kiss with Mike, then picking up the small package to open it.
Inside the box, was an Amber coloured crystal. Harvey had been into those kinds of things recently, getting into all the 'healing powers' and stuff, ever since Mike's attack. He had been collecting different kinds of crystals and had a small clear box on his desk at work that had a bunch of them in it. Harvey grabbed it out of the box, and the card, and began reading the properties of the crystal: The Amber crystal is considered a good luck charm for love and marriage, as this stone is both energizing and calming at the same time. It is said to help in attracting and manifesting positive desires and brings energies of patience (Harvey raised his patented brow at Mike who smirked) protection, sensuality, healing, and balance to those who wear or carry it. Harvey looked over at Mike who was just smiling at the table, and grabbed his hand, thanking him. Donna thought it was strange that he had put so much stock in something that could be considered strange, but Mike had gone along with it. He might not believe in it like Harvey, but it was something for the man to hold onto whilst Mike was trying to hold onto his life, and for the most part they seem to have some benefit. He returned the stone and the card to its place and grabbed the wine glass that had just been put in front of him, toasting to their anniversary with Mike. Their conversation stayed away from topics like work, or anything to do with the firm at all. Harvey had felt so bad for temporarily forgetting his anniversary, that he wanted to make sure that it was perfect for Mike. He hasn't been to Pezos in years, noting that it has not changed much, but that it's obviously still popular with the people of Greystone. Mike asked Harvey if he had ever brought another date here, raising an eyebrow at his boyfriend and smirking over his wine glass. The older lawyer just shook his head. He'd always gone to the rink, or some other place that was out of town, not wanting it to get back to his parents or family, but he has been here before himself. Mike ordered for them both, and Harvey was impressed, and not surprised, that he'd already memorised the entire menu. It wouldn't have taken much for him to do, less than twenty seconds. Mike had been given a choice by Harvey, one that he didn't take lightly: Desert here, or Ice Skating. It had popped into his head halfway through their meal, and he knows that Mike has never been Ice Skating, so that might be a 'romantic' and sweet moment for them.
Of course, Mike was freaking out about Ice Skating because he has never done it before. His parents passed before he could get them to teach him, and his Grammy was too old. None of his friends thought that it was 'cool' to go Ice Skating either. If he's being honest, he's never been Roller Skating either, but he isn't about to tell Harvey that. They live in New York after all, it's like a rite of passage to learn to Ice Skate there. But he never did, and the one time that Rachel asked him to go, he was called back to work, and couldn't. She never brought it up again. The finished their meal, and Harvey let Mike have desert as well, then once they were done, they paid their bill and stood to leave. Mike wrapped his arms around himself as he stepped out into the cold, Harvey immediately wrapping Mike in his arms when he joined the man. They walked a little way down the street, to Greystone Arena, where they have Ice and Roller Skating. They had been here briefly on their scavenger hunt, but Mike had never been inside. The fact that they're wearing suits probably doesn't help, because people stare at them when they enter the building. Mike knows that you usually don't come Ice Skating in a three-piece suit, and he didn't really bring a change of clothes, but Harvey doesn't seem to care. They get their Ice Skates and move over to a seat to put them on. The Ice Skates really don't go with their suits, but neither of them really seemed to care. Mike was nervous, and he doesn't know if Harvey can tell. Mike took stock of how many people were on the rink as he clutched onto the wall surrounding the wooden surface. Harvey had 'skated off', obviously waiting for Mike to join him. When the younger man didn't, he looked back to see Mike standing by the wall, clutching onto it like it was a lifeline. Figuring that it had just been a while he did a couple of laps of the rink, and then came back to where Mike was now 'leaning' against the wall, smirking at him appreciatively. There had been no conversation. Harvey extended his arm, requesting Mike's hand. The young man was reluctant to let go of the wall, but took the outstretched hand, wobbling when he let go of the wall with the other hand, and almost falling into Harvey, who caught him, chuckling to himself. Mike held onto this upper arms tightly, almost too tight, but if Harvey noticed, he didn't say anything.
'Mike, have you ever been ice skating?' Harvey asked, as he watched Mike try to get his balance against him.
'Uh… if I say no will you laugh at me?' Mike asked, looking up at his boyfriend.
'I will never laugh at you Mike. Why didn't you tell me?' Harvey asked, leading them back over towards the side.
'It's like a rite of passage to know how to skate. I grew up in New York Harvey, I should know. But… my parents never… I was never taught… and I just avoided it… I mean I'm a klutz on my feet, can you imagine me on the Ice?' Mike asked, looking up at his boyfriend whose expression was a mix between many different emotions.
Harvey took both of Mike's hands and asked him to follow his lead. He's going to teach him how to skate. The younger man looked apprehensive, earning a glare from his partner, who threatened to let go. Mike pleaded with him not to let him go, and Harvey smirked. They moved slowly, one foot in front of the other. Mike held onto Harvey's hands as though they were a lifeline. Harvey would never have guessed that Mike didn't know how to skate. Of course, he knew about his parents, but there was always the question of his friends (although thinking about it, Trevor probably wouldn't have taken the time to teach Mike), and he gets teased enough at the office, if the other associates found out that he couldn't skate, it would be hell for Mike, worse than it is now. So, Harvey took his time, teaching Mike, telling him the basics. Arms for balance, one foot in front of the other, and as Mike was moving around the ice, he could see the confidence grow on his boyfriend's face. He was determined not to let this stop him. Harvey was glad that he was able to be here for this, and that no one else seemed to be paying them much mind. Eventually, Harvey let go of Mike's hands, and moved away a little, then told a panicked Mike to skate to him. Using everything Harvey had taught him in the last few minutes, Mike moved slowly towards his boyfriend, who subtly kept moving back every time. Just when Mike thought he would catch up, Harvey moved again, and it was all in the master plan. This is how Harvey had been taught. It's like riding a bike. The smile on Mike's face when he finally reached Harvey was magical. It reached his eyes, and made the whole arena light up. He was telling Harvey how amazing it was, how he had actually done it, he couldn't believe it. Harvey hugged him, and whispered that he's proud of him, in his ear, and that his parents would be as well. Mike pulled back, smiling at him, and pushing a strand of hair that had broken out of its holds, out of his face. Then he pressed their lips together in a quick kiss, before Harvey broke them apart, and grabbed his hand. Whilst Harvey gracefully moved across the ice, Mike was static next to him, and eventually he just let Harvey pull him along. It was a strange sensation, moving across a surface in a different way. For all the good that he had been doing, there had to be something that threw that all up in the air. Mike had turned, or tried to turn to catch up with Harvey, and had fallen over. He couldn't help but laugh as Harvey helped him back to his feet, also chuckling.
They skated for about an hour, Mike declaring after this fifth fall of the night that he is 'absolutely not going to be having sex with Harvey', to which the older man raised an eyebrow, and decided it was time they left anyway. Once they were back on solid ground, Mike linked his arm with Harvey's, as they exited the arena, and Harvey led Mike towards a small lit up area, decorated with Christmas lights and decorations, that could be sort of like a town center. Greystone is beautiful at this time of year. The lights on all the houses, and the buildings, and just the people… everything seems to be joyous and merry. Harvey led Mike over to a fountain that had been lovingly decorated for Christmas, and they sat down on a seat near the fountain. Mike rested his head on Harvey's shoulder, then whispered that this has been a great anniversary. Harvey apologised for forgetting, but Mike just shut him up with a kiss, and told him that he'd absolutely made up for it. For everything that it's worth, Mike had never had a moment like this, where he could just spend time with someone who looked at him the way that Harvey does and want to be with him like that. He doesn't know how long they sat there, just listening to the sounds of people around them, the Christmas carols playing in the distance, and the smell of the festive season filling the air. Harvey wanted to keep them out of the house as long as possible, but he also wanted to go home and make love to his boyfriend because let's face it… he looks hot as… if this were New York, he might have booked them a room at a nice hotel, gone to a restaurant at the top of the Freedom Tower, or simply had a homecooked meal. But here, in Greystone, with Mike's head resting on his shoulder, for the first time in his life, Harvey found freedom in his world. He doesn't have to be afraid, or worried, or have any fear. He can take Mike's hand and hold him and never let him go. So, for the most part, they're good. They don't have to talk as they walk back towards the car. Their silence isn't awkward, it's perfect. When they get back to the Specter Family House, the Christmas lights are lit, encompassing the garden in a white light, and the glow that hits Mike as he gets out of the car and heads up the front path… Harvey almost loses his footing. They manage to sneak upstairs without anyone seeing them, and into Harvey's room.
'Mike…' Harvey said but was surprised when Mike pushed him back against the bed, straddling his waist.
'It's my turn to be in charge tonight. Let me love you the way you deserve Harvey,' Mike whispered, sitting back to slowly undress the man beneath him.
'God yes Mike… fuck you know I love it when you take charge,' Harvey said, as Mike leans down to lick a circle around a nipple, fingers working to remove clothing.
'I love you too Harvey,' Mike replied, smiling as they lost themselves in their love making passion.

Specter Family House
Greystone, Massachusetts
Harvey knew that it was inevitable. He and Mike had woken on the morning of the thirteenth, and just laid there, curled in each other's arms. When he opened his eyes the first time, Mike was still asleep. He caressed his boyfriend's naked back softly as he slept, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead. The time on the clock was five am. Too early to be up. So, he'd fallen back to sleep, and now… now he regrets that. At about seven that morning, his sister, and brothers burst in the room banging pots and pans, loudly shouting and hollering at the top of their lungs. Mike had covered his ears, and Harvey had pulled him in close, protecting him. He had sworn vengeance on them, until Damien pointed out that he's naked and they're fully clothed. They all poked their tongues out, then ran out of the room, still banging the pots and pans. Mike groaned, rolling over so that he could pepper soft kisses across his boyfriend's naked torso. Harvey connected their lips, wanting to deepen the kiss, but he heard his siblings coming back up the stairs, and he figured Mike wouldn't want them to see him, so he quickly jumped up, pulled on his sleep pants, kissed Mike, and told him that he's sorry and he'll be back. Mike mumbled something as he buried his head in the pillows. Harvey yanked open his bedroom door, catching his siblings off guard. The four of them bolted down the stairs, running through the house. Lily caught them as they burst through the living room door, and scolded them for acting like children, taking the cutlery and pots and pans from them, and shooing them from the house. Helena poked her tongue out at Harvey before heading off to help Richard, Damien and Marcus swore to get revenge on Harvey during Dare Week, to which the lawyer just flipped his brother off and headed back upstairs. Mike had fallen back to sleep, the duvet hanging off his hips, revealing the expanse of his back. Harvey was tempted to get back in bed, curl up to Mike for another hour, but he knew they would have to get up. They must finish decorating the house, and they're going to the tree farm today, and he wants to take Mike. Harvey goes into take a shower, and just as he's about to get out, Mike appears in the bathroom, completely naked, and joins him. They share little kisses, but nothing too much, as Harvey reminds Mike of today's activity: they're getting a Christmas Tree.
This year, Lily had put Helena, Harvey, Molly and Marcus in charge of getting a tree for the house. The four (plus Mike) piled into Helena's car, and she drove them to the local Greystone Tree farm. The minute they got out of the car; Mike could just smell the scents of Christmas. There were a few people around, some with kids, picking their tree. It's traditional to have a real Christmas tree. Most years he would just have one of those cheap fake ones that already had lights on it, except for the years that he lived with Rachel. She would go to a little more effort, but her past boyfriends always chided her for caring too much, and Mike would be the one to remind her that it's her apartment, she can decorate if she wants. Now that he's moved in with Harvey, he wonders if they would've gotten a real tree, or if a fake one would have been better? After all, how would they have gotten that tree into the elevator that took them to the penthouse? It would have been a pain in the ass. Mike defers all choices about the tree to his boyfriend and Helena. He and Molly head off towards the decorations area to see if they can find some cute things to hang on the tree. Once there, Molly asks Mike who the more stereotypical of the two is, out of him and Harvey, when it comes to like decorating and dressing… all those things. Mike immediately without thinking about it, answers with Harvey, because he doesn't really care that much about the decorating, but Harvey does, and he knows that his boyfriend has better fashion sense than him. It's not that he doesn't care, he just doesn't care as much as Harvey cares… and he does…. He won't ever admit it aloud, but he does care. Mike brought him a pink tie once, as a joke, and the look on Harvey's face… he'd wished he'd had a camera. It was brilliant. Molly makes a sound, but doesn't ask anything else, seemingly satisfied with the answer that Mike had given. Whilst she and the young lawyer were looking around, they had been keeping in touch via walkie talkies, that Mike didn't even see. So, when he heard Helena's voice come through the small device, he almost jumped in surprise. They take this thing so seriously… Mike thought to himself. He's not one to rain on the parade though. Molly tells him they're looking for gold, anything gold. Mike can do that. He knows what gold is… he thinks anyway.
'So, Harvey, how was last night?' Helena asked, patented Specter smirk on her face.
'It was an amazing night,' Harvey replied, knowing his sister wanted all the 'dirty deets'
'That's it? You're not going to give me any details?' she asked, almost as if she was begging.
'I might have been more willing, but considering how you woke Mike and I up this morning… I'm not feeling very much like sharing,' Harvey replied, and then he flounced (which he would vehemently deny later) off to find Marcus, a small smirk upon his face as well.
After about three hours, they had found the perfect tree and were securing it to the top of Helena's car. Molly and Mike had gathered up some decorations that they thought would be nice, and placed them in a small box after paying, they all piled back into the car and headed back to the house. Still with lots to do, and a tree to decorate, the girls had already planned everything out. Harvey was recruited to the decoration team, and Marcus was recruited to looking after the kids, whilst Mike was free to roam. He decided to head back into the study and see if he could find anything that might be interesting to read. Unsurprisingly to Harvey, Mike had finished all the work that Jessica had sent along with him and was in the process of faxing it back when there was a knock at the door, and Lily was shouting that she would get it, it's probably one of their cousins. What neither Harvey nor Mike expected was for Trevor Evans to be standing on the front porch of the Specter House, arm linked with one of Harvey's cousins, smiling like he wasn't the world's biggest douchebag.
A/N: Mike and Harvey are celebrating their anniversary, and it's right in the middle of the Specter Family Holiday season, so there are sure to be some shenanigans that happen along the way. D.
