Chapter 2 - His Gaze
Midoriya had just been introduced to Ochaku's friends Tsu and Iida when he felt a chill that made his nerves stand on edge. He looked around and found the piercing gaze of familiar red eyes. Midoriya's breath caught in his chest. Ochaku hadn't mentioned that Bakugo attended her school. He turned back to the conversation with a tight smile and tried to ignore Bakugo's overwhelming presence.
"So how do you know Ochaku?" Tsu asked as she passed him a drink.
"Oh we met at a animal shelter volunteer day," Ochaku cheerfully replied, though she left out how they actually first met but it is a bit too tragic to tell people you just met.
"Do you volunteer often Midoriya?" Iida asked matter-of-factly.
Midoriya chuckled, "Yes as often as I can, I plan on becoming a vet."
"Wow! That's so cool." A red haired ripped guy pulled Iida into a headlock.
"Thanks," He let a big smile spread across his face.
"This is Kirishima, he plans on becoming a Firefighter," Ochaku introduced him shaking her head with a big grin on her face.
"Wow a Firefighter! I think that is way cooler." Midoriya's eyes where wide with admiration until he felt another chill grip his spine.
"Hey hey look who I found and dragged over!" A blonde haired guy waved as he griped Bakugo's arm and dragged him over with his hands still in his pockets.
Midoriya's heart was pounding in his throat. He didn't feel ready to confront him just yet. It felt like he was breathing but no air was going into his lungs. Just when he was ready to either run or have a panic attack, Bakugo looked down with a frown and his hand came up to rub the back of his neck.
"Hey D-" He stopped then exhaled, "Izuku."
