A/N: Here's the other filler chapter I had in mind. It's been a long while since I've done a "Fun with Video Games" chapter, hasn't it?

It's kind of shocking that I haven't written a chapter about Team Fortress 2 since a lot of SFM videos and mods of Five Nights at Freddy's are connected with TF2 in some way, so here's a chapter of the Schmidt family simply having fun playing TF2 online.

DISCLAIMER: I've never actually played a game of TF2 in my entire life. So for all I know, everything that I've written in this chapter might be complete and utter bullshit. Hope it's still fun to read though!

Chapter 187 – Fun with Video Games 6

"All right, guys," Mike spoke to his kids through the voice chat in his private study, while the ghosts had opened their laptops up and were scattered throughout the house in different areas to give themselves as much room as needed. "You guys ready to play?"

"Yep, game's loaded and everything, good to go from my end!" Gabe called back.

"Same here!" Jeremy agreed.

"I'm all ready!" Susie added. One by one, all of the ghost kids confirmed that they had loaded the game and were ready to play.

"All right, excellent," Mike grinned. "It's frankly amazing how well Team Fortress 2 has aged, it's still going strong even after several years. You guys want to play a more competitive game mode, or just want to take things easy?"

"Honestly, Dad? I kinda wanna take things easy this game," Cassidy admitted. "I dunno, I'm just not in the mood to go full tryhard."

"Yeah, I get what Cass is saying," Susie agreed. "Just not feeling it today."

"We can just do Capture-the-Flag 2Fort if some of us don't want to tryhard," Charlie suggested. "That's literally the most casual gamemode to ever casual in the history of casual."

"I'm good with anything, honestly," Liz commented.

"Fuck it, let's just go in already, I want to blow shit up!" Fritz exclaimed.

"All right, 2Fort it is," Mike declared. "You guys know what you're gonna play?"

"Yep!" Everyone chorused. Mike invited all of his kids into their team and loaded up a game of 2Fort for them all to enjoy. When they appeared in the spawn room, they quickly realized that they were on the RED team for this game.

"Let's just make sure this server isn't TOO casual," Gabe cautioned. "I don't want to stick around if there's literally nothing but a bunch of Friendlies throwing sandwiches each other and doing nothing else. We do want some actual gameplay."

He picked Heavy and made his way out into the open area of 2Fort in between the 2 towers. Almost immediately, he was shot in the head by a Sniper who had positioned himself in the other tower, killing him instantly.

"Wow, you died already? That was quick," Susie commented dryly as Gabe respawned a few seconds later.

"Hey, I wasn't ready! I just wanted to see if there was gonna be some action," Gabe countered, before chuckling humorlessly. "I guess getting shot in the head counts as action."

"Guess we're in the right place, then," Mike commented as he picked Scout. He was about to leave and start hunting down unfortunate enemies, when one of their allies in chat suddenly typed something in.

[[I'm going to be playing the Moderately Overweight Scout this game. I'm doing it, and I don't give a shit whether you want me to or not.]]

"Moderately Overweight Scout?" Cassidy repeated. She shifted her screen over a bit to see the rest of their teammates, and her eyes widened. "Oh my God…"

The teammate who had typed in chat was an Engineer who was carrying his shotgun and nothing. Before anyone could do anything, the Engineer ran out of the spawn room and out of sight.

"He's basically playing the Engineer as a fucking Scout, isn't he?" Fritz groaned with a facepalm.

"Whenever I see people doing meme loadouts like this on TF2, it's either of one of two things," Mike commented, his tone sounding like he was already done with existence. "Either they're gonna fail miserably, make an absolute joke of themselves, and do nothing but give free kills to the enemy team…or they're gonna somehow be an absolute god at the game who slaughters the entire server despite using an inherently shitty loadout. Always one or the other, never in between."

"We'll see one way or the other," Liz commented. "Should we make up a coherent plan as a group or just go kill people and do our own thing?"

"It's fucking 2Fort, just do whatever," Mike replied nonchalantly.

"Cool," Jeremy replied as he picked Soldier with the Stock Rocket Launcher. "I'm gonna go blow up some morons, then. See ya!"

One by one, the ghost kids picked their loadouts and left the spawn room, each of them taking different paths with the same goal in mind:

Win the game by capturing the intelligence, and kill anybody who stood in their way.

"Let's get rid of that annoying ass sniper first," Jeremy thought as he positioned himself onto the platform on RED Team's tower overlooking the canal separating the two buildings and the bridge connecting them. He quickly identified the BLU Sniper on the other platform, who was currently busy trying to shoot his teammates who were duking it out on the battlefield. He fired his rocker launcher, leaping across the roof of the bridge spanning the two towers and flew towards the unsuspecting Sniper. By the time he realized what was happening, it was already too late. Jeremy fired several rockets at the Sniper, completely blowing him to smithereens. "The Sniper's down, now's your chance!" he called out to his team.

"We're going in!" Gabe affirmed. He had chosen Heavy again, but this time he had made sure to wait outside the Sniper's line of fire first until Jeremy had gotten rid of him. Now that he didn't have to worry about getting headshot, he revved up his Tomislav and started marching down the bridge leading to the enemy base. "Hahahahaha!" he laughed as he mowed down a hapless Pyro and Soldier in front of him with his minigame. "Come get some! I'm here to kick your ass!"

"Hold on, wait up!" Charlie scolded him as she caught up to him. Unsurprisingly, she had chosen Medic as her class for the game, her commitment to helping out her family and other people as much as possible carrying on even into how she played games. "You're gonna get yourself killed if you just run in like that without backup!"

"Well, since you're here now, want to go in and kill shit together?" Gabe asked.

"Yeah, yeah, now that I'm here, you should be good to go now," Charlie replied. Gabe grinned and finished crossing the bridge, with Charlie right behind him channeling her Medigun's energy into him to keep his health up. As they approached one of the entrances to the tower, an unfortunate Scout came barreling out…straight into the pathway of Gabe's minigun. In less than 3 seconds, the Scout was riddled with bullets, falling to the ground with the corpse's face smacking straight into the dirt.

"Holy crap, our enemies have no planning whatsoever," Gabe commented dryly. He was about to advance further when he heard Charlie cry out.

"Gah, dammit!" she shouted. "I just got backstabbed by a Spy, I'm dead!"

"Crap," the former Freddy inhabitant cursed under his breath. With Charlie dead, he was now vulnerable. He desperately swiveled around firing his minigun randomly, hoping to try and find the Spy who had slipped back into invisibility. By sheer good fortune, his bullets actually caught the Spy, who partially phased back into sight with a faint blue silhouette. Which was all Gabe needed to mow him down with his minigun. "Kill my sister? I'll show you pain!" he promised, unleashing a barrage of bullets that didn't stop until the Spy's corpse lay motionless on the ground. "Whew…" he breathed. "It's honestly really lucky I didn't get stabbed fir-…"

He was interrupted as his body was suddenly exploded to pieces, revealing that a BLU Demoman had taken advantage of his distraction to shoot him repeatedly with multiple grenades. "Oh, dammit!" he groaned. "I got distracted! Yeah, this went south real quick..."

"Don't worry, we'll help you out!" Fritz promised. The former Foxy inhabitant had naturally chosen the closest thing in Team Fortress 2 to Foxy that he could possibly get, and so he was following Jeremy in leaping across the roof of the bridge as none other than the Demoman. The moment he leapt onto the platform of the enemy tower, he fired two sticky traps into the hallway leading into the building. The moment a hapless Soldier ran into his line of sight, he immediately detonated the traps, turning the unfortunate Soldier into bloody chunks. "Hah!" he cheered. "This shit never gets old!"

"Damn, good work!" Liz cheered as Fritz charged into the building, tossing a grenade directly into the path of an enemy Scout who was immediately exploded to smithereens.

Fritz gave his sister a thumbs-up and smirked. If he was being honest with himself, even he was surprised by how good he was at Demoman. Out of all of his family, Fritz was probably the least skilled gamer overall, taking longer to complete most games and dying the most times in general whenever he and his siblings tried to play any given game. The former Foxy inhabitant was fully aware of his shortcomings when it came to video gaming in general, something that he was normally perfectly okay with.

Until his dad had introduced him to Team Fortress 2, and he had learned about the Demoman. From the many different ways he could violently explode his enemies with his weapons, to his pirate-like appearance with his eyepatch and his boisterous attitude that matched his own, everything about the Black Scottish Cyclops matched and resonated with the former Foxy inhabitant so perfectly. Just from seeing the "Meet the Demoman" trailer, Fritz had fallen in love with Demoman almost to the same degree as Foxy.

And so he had practiced and trained, with an intensity that he had almost never given to any other video game before. It was a long and brutal process, involving countless fails and numerous self-explosions. But Fritz's training had paid off, and he had developed into a scarily good Demoman to the point that even his family was impressed.

Granted, he wasn't nearly as competent with other classes, and the one time he had tried Engineer was so spectacularly bad that Charlie of all people had called it the TF2 equivalent of that one time he had tried to make food for Mike. But there was no denying that in Fritz's hands, the Demoman was an absolute murder machine to be reckoned with.

"Who wants some?" Fritz cackled as he ran into the building, throwing two grenades at a Soldier with disturbing accuracy that blasted him to smithereens. The chaos that Fritz was unleashing upon the BLU team gave Cassidy the perfect opportunity to sneak in invisibly as the Spy, taking advantage of the havoc Fritz was wreaking upon the BLU team to get in unnoticed. She quickly an unsuspecting soldier who was completely exposed. With a grin that was downright sinister, Cassidy snuck up behind the Soldier and stabbed him in the back with her knife, killing him instantly.

"Easiest kill ever," the former Golden Freddy inhabitant snickered. She quickly fled down a hallway before anyone could notice her, scoring another kill on a completely clueless Medic in the process. When she tried to go for her third backstab on a Demoman, however, the Heavy turned around at the last minute, meaning that her knife only did a pathetic 40 damage instead of the instakill backstab she was expecting. "Oh, WHAT?" she exclaimed. Cassidy tried to retreat, but it was too late. The Heavy unleashed his minigun on her, ripping her to shreds instantly. "What the hell?" she pouted. "Why did you turn around, there was literally no reason to turn around!"

"Failstab?" Susie asked sympathetically as she fired an arrow at an unlucky Soldier, nailing him clean through the head. She had gone Sniper, but unlike the "standard" Sniper who used a sniping rifle and just sat on the top of a platform trying to go for kills, she decided to make things a little more interesting by using the Huntsman and invading the enemy base just like the rest of her siblings. She couldn't really explain it, but for some reason whenever she fired arrows with the Huntsman she kept getting kills that she honestly thought she had no right getting, which made for some pretty funny situations that always gave her a good laugh. She fired another arrow towards a BLU Pyro who had been busy dealing with Fritz's Demoman, but instead of shooting the Pyro, she ended up nailing an invisible BLU Spy who had been trying to sneak up on Fritz, killing him instead.

"Okay, wasn't expecting that," the former Chica inhabitant muttered a bit dryly. She raised another arrow and fired it at the Pyro, this time correctly hitting her intended target and finishing him off.

"Thanks!" Fritz gratefully replied as he headed down a corridor, both to kill more enemies and get closer to the enemy intelligence.

"I'm coming too!" Liz declared. She had decided to follow her dad's example and play Scout, even though she wasn't nearly as skilled at the class as Mike was. "I'll help you out, Fritz!"

Her brother grinned back at her. "All right, the dream team!" he eagerly accepted the offer. Thanks to Scout's speed, she was able to catch up to Fritz's Demoman despite being farther away from the Intel room that he was, and they charged in to the room together while at the same time the "Moderately Overweight Scout" entered from a different angle. Fritz fired his grenades at the Sentry that an Engineer had set up, destroying it instantly and giving Liz and the "Moderately Overweight Scout" the chance to go in for the kill.

To both Liz's and Fritz's surprise, the Engineer roleplaying as a Scout didn't die in the first two seconds. By contrast, he proved to be much more competent than either of them expected, landing two clean shotgun shots on a BLU Scout of all things, while Liz promptly smashed in the head of a Soldier with the Boston Bash. The Moderately Overweight Scout then fired his last two shots on the enemy Engineer, scoring a clean and easy kill, before running off back the way he came without saying a word.

"Getting the intelligence!" Liz announced as she grabbed it and started fleeing the base. "Cover me, you guys!"

"On it!" Gabe replied. He had switched from Heavy to Pyro since he could see at least two other people playing Heavy on the RED team, and the former Freddy inhabitant was having a blast burning every in sight with his flamethrower like a maniac. He still had the awareness to protect his team with the airblast though, and when he saw that a rocket was flying straight towards his sister, he immediately airblasted the rocket back towards the soldier who had fired it. The soldier didn't even have time to react as he was exploded by his own rocket, giving Gabe the satisfaction of both killing an enemy and protecting his sister at the same time. "You're good, keep going!"

"Thanks!" she gratefully replied as she ran out of the enemy base and across the bridge with the enemy intelligence. Thanks to the cover and the distractions provided by her family, she was able to safely make it to the capture point and successfully win a point for her team. "We got it!"

"Yes, great job, Liz!" Jeremy cheered as his weapon started to glow with bright red lightning, signaling that he had just received the team-wide crit boost earned for successfully capturing the intelligence. For the next few seconds, he, his family, and the rest of RED team all proceeded to attack the BLU team as viciously and as ruthlessly as possible, wanting to make the most out of the free crits while they had them. While this recklessness got a few of them killed, the RED team for the most part unleashed an unholy onslaught and secured several kills before the crit boost ran out, with Mike being able to single-handedly massacre a Heavy, a Demoman, and a Medic in quick succession.

"Uh, guys?" Charlie suddenly pointed out with a tone of disbelief. "This Moderately Overweight Scout guy has a 15 kill streak."

"Wait, what?" Susie opened the score table and her jaw dropped in shock. "Oh my God, Charlie, you're right. He's gotten 15 kills and he hasn't died a single time!"

"Bruh, what?" Gabe spluttered. "HOW? Engineer's one of the least mobile classes in the entire game, playing Engineer like a Scout should be one of the worst things ever!"

"Like I said before," Mike commented, although even he was visibly impressed, "when somebody plays a meme build, they're either complete trash or an absolute god. And it looks like we were lucky enough to be matched with someone who's a complete god."

Even as he spoke, the "Moderately Overweight Scout" proceeded to prove Mike's point by killing a Scout, Spy, AND a Sniper in quick succession using nothing but his shotgun and a frankly insane level of mobility that nobody thought an Engineer was ever capable of. Unfortunately for him, his streak ran out because the Demoman kill caused him to stumble right in front of a Pyro, and even someone as skilled as this Engineer simply didn't have the time to reposition himself before getting burned to death by the Pyro's Flamethrower. But still, it was a very impressive showing especially for a meme build.

"Well, this guy's gonna fuck up the server with or without our help," Fritz commented dryly. "Let's just let him do his own thing and get those briefcases again."

"Sounds like a plan," Susie agreed. She was about to look for more people to shoot, when she suddenly saw a Scout rushing towards her with a bat raised ready to bash her head in. In a panic, she raised the Huntsman and instinctively fired an arrow without taking any time to aim…and the arrow went straight through the Scout's head, nailing him onto a nearby wall and killing him instantly. "Oh my God," Susie let out a nervous and relieved laugh, "that was so close, I honestly had NO right getting a kill that lucky on a Scout about to kill me."

"That's why they call it the Lucksman, Susie," Mike deadpanned as he shot a Soldier with his shotgun, only to get stabbed in the back by a Spy while he was being distracted. "Half the time when you get a kill with it, you end up wondering how the hell what you did actually worked."

"I'm not complaining!" Susie happily replied…only to get blown up by a Demoman's grenade since she had been completely distracted. "Oh, come on!" she complained as her Sniper was blown to pieces.

"That's why you don't ever sit around doing nothing in the middle of the battlefield," Charlie commented in a weird mix of sympathy and amusement. "People who do that tend to get killed."

"There's a lot of people in that Intel room right now," Cassidy spoke up with a worried frown. "I can't go in there, I'm going to get torn to pieces the moment I try to stab someone."

"Are there a lot of sentries in there?" Jeremy asked.

Cassidy shook her head. "No, just a lot of enemy players." She rolled her eyes. "Still gonna be super annoying to try and break into that defense, though."

Gabe suddenly smirked. "Not for me. Hey Charlie, you got Uber ready?"

Charlie realized what Gabe was getting at, and grinned back. "Yeah. You wanna go in as an Ubered Pyro and set them all on fire?"

The former Freddy inhabitant laughed. "You read my mind, Charlie. This is gonna be hilarious."

"Hold on," Mike cautioned. "Are there any Pyros that can airblast in there? I like what you're planning, but if they airblast you once your entire strat's gonna be ruined."

"Crap," Gabe muttered. "I completely forgot about that."

"No worries, we just need to make sure we bait an airblast first before you two go in for the kill," Mike reassured him. "Jeremy, you around to fire a rocket?"

"Yep, I can see them from where I am," the former Bonnie inhabitant affirmed.

"Good, fire a rocket at them. If we're lucky and the Pyro sucks, we might blow most of them up right off the bat," Mike instructed. "If not, Gabe and Charlie know what to do."

"Got it," Jeremy declared, as he fired a rocket straight at the huddle of BLU players guarding the intelligence. As he expected, the Pyro was competent enough to airblast the rocket back at Jeremy, who had dodged out of the way long before then to make sure he didn't get damaged by his own repelled projectile. "Go, go, GO!" he shouted.

Neither Gabe nor Charlie needed any more convincing. Charlie activated her Uber on Gabe's Pyro, and together they stormed into the intelligence room. With the airblast on cooldown and without any single buildings to protect them, the huddle of enemies was completely helpless as Gabe drowned the entire room in a deluge of roaring fire with a ruthlessness that could only be described as hellish. There was nothing the BLU team could do apart from fruitlessly fire at them and try to flee…only for Susie to shoot them in the face with the Huntsman or Cassidy to stab them in the back while they tried to flee. Once the entire room was cleared of enemies, Mike grabbed the intelligence and began running back towards the base, with his family covering for him to make sure he could get out safely.

"Too easy," Gabe and Charlie high-fived as Mike made it back to the capture point with the intelligence…but unlike last time, they weren't the only ones who had accomplished their objective. The Schmidts had been so preoccupied with planning their strat for taking the intelligence that they had completely failed to notice that an enemy Spy had snuck into their base and stolen their intelligence at the same time. Thus, both teams managed to score a point at the same time, granting both teams a crit boost for the next 10 seconds.

What happened next was a bloodbath in which both teams utterly massacred each other for the next 10 seconds. Widespread crits meant that the game had essentially turned into a sudden death match, with Demoman and Soldier players like Fritz and Jeremy having free rein to blow up anything in sight, only to get demolished in turn. Ironically, the brutal slaughter meant that the game state itself didn't change much, as both teams needed a few seconds to respawn their characters after the crit boost ended.

"Geez, I can't even count how many people got blown up during that fight on the bridge," Susie commented as she shot an enemy Medic in the head with an arrow. "That looked like a giant mess."

"No kidding!" Fritz agreed as he respawned. "I barely had any clue what the hell was going on during that entire fight!"

"You guys changing your classes at all?" Gabe asked.

"Nah, I like playing Medic," Charlie replied. "I'll probably just sit back and keep healing everyone until I get full Uber again."

"I'm gonna switch to Engineer and defend the engine room," Gabe decided after seeing that one of the other players on the team had switched to Pyro. "I want to make sure that they don't get another chance."

Jeremy nodded approvingly. "Would be nice to have some proper defense in there, that's for sure."

"Thanks for doing that," Liz answered appreciatively. "Hope defending the intel doesn't get too boring for you."

"You guys wanna close this game out?" Cassidy asked as she approached an unsuspecting, distracted Sniper and effortlessly stabbed him in the back.

"Let's see what's going on in the enemy intel room this time first," Mike suggested. Cassidy nodded and turned invisible, sneaking through the enemy base and towards the Intel Room. When she peeked inside, she let out an audible groan. "Oh, that's not good…"

"What's wrong?" Susie asked, looking up towards her sister. Unfortunately for her, a Scout took advantage of her distraction to rush up to her and smash her Sniper on the head with a baseball bat, killing her immediately. "Oh, come on!" she complained. "Not again!"

"Keep your eyes on the game, Susie," Charlie gently chided as she healed a few team members who had gotten seriously injured from a skirmish in the pipes.

"Spy behind you, Charlie," Jeremy warned. Charlie immediately turned around and whacked at the air with a bonesaw, hitting the BLU Spy in question who had tried to sneak a knife into her back only to fit the front of her Medic's body for a measly 40 damage. Scowling, Charlie took out her Ubersaw and slashed at the Spy with it, killing him instantly thanks to a random crit.

"Oh wow, nice!" Jeremy snickered. "I bet he didn't see that random crit coming!"

"It's the fucking Ubersaw, you always have to assume that it's going to random crit when you fight against it, or else you're fucked if you don't see it coming," Mike commented.

"I hate random crits!" Susie complained. "They make the game less skill-based and less fun!"

"I agree with you, Susie, but I gotta admit that killing someone with a crit from the Ubersaw is super satisfying," Charlie admitted. "Random crits are still bullshit, though, no doubt about that."

"I have no clue why the fuck Valve still hasn't removed random crits, though, and at this point they probably never will," Gabe commented with a sigh. "I guess they're always going to be a part of the game, for better or for worse."

"Whatever," Liz rolled her eyes. "Let's just go steal that third intelligence briefcase and win the game already."

"Yeah, about that…" Cassidy frowned. "This time they set up a whole sentry base in there. I see 2 level 3 sentries in there. If you try to go in, you're gonna just get riddled with bullets and blasted out of existence."

As if to prove her point, a dumbass Scout suddenly charged into the room. Cassidy didn't know what the Scout in question was expecting, but to absolutely nobody's surprise, the Scout immediately got riddled with bullets and the corpse blown to bits. "Yeah…that's gonna be a problem," Fritz admitted.

"Uh, guys?" Gabe suddenly called to them, looking a bit worried. "I think the BLU team's about to charge into the intel room. There's a bunch of them that just ran into the base, I need help!"

"I'll come help," Jeremy reassured him, with Susie and Liz nodding in agreement. The three of them quickly retreated towards the Intel Room, where Gabe was frantically trying to defend his sentries from the small army of BLU players that had just charged into it. A Heavy and a Demoman already in the room had tried to protect him, but they had both been killed, leaving Gabe alone with just his sentries to protect him. Even that didn't last long, as an enemy Demoman fired a rocket that destroyed one of the sentries as Gabe desperately dodged out of the way, leaving only one more sentry and Gabe himself as the last remaining defense.

"Let's go, you guys!" Liz exclaimed. "We gotta help Gabe!"

Jeremy and Susie charged into the room, with Susie firing arrows from the Huntsman a safe distance away. Susie had fired her arrow at an unsuspecting Scout whose back was turned, and was able to nail him cleanly in the head and kill him instantly. However, this attracted the attention of the rest of the BLU team, two of which were a Heavy and a Medic who had thankfully just finished their Ubercharge. The Heavy revved up his gun and unleashed a hail of bullets on them. Liz was quick enough to dodge out of the way, but Jeremy was too slow, and he only had time to fruitlessly fire a rocket at the Heavy before he was ruthlessly gunned down.

"Uh…shit, what do I do?" Liz mumbled. Her chances of beating a Heavy in a straight fight were already incredibly low…and there was no way she was going to be able to fight a Heavy, a Medic, AND a Demoman at the same time.

Right as the Heavy prepared to advance and gun her down just like she had gunned down Jeremy, the Mildly Overweight Scout suddenly appeared from a room where nobody was paying attention. He took the Demoman completely by surprise, firing two shotgun shots in quick succession and killing the Black Scottish Cyclops before he could do anything to react. The Heavy and Medic turned around, distracted…which gave Susie a chance to fire another Huntsman arrow and Liz the opportunity to charge in without the risk of being instantly gunned down. The previously confident Heavy and Medic were suddenly being attacked from all sides…and even Gabe, despite not playing a particularly offensive loadout, still had his sentry gun and his own pistol to protect him.

The remains of the BLU Team strike team were caught between a hammer and an anvil, and they were quickly crushed with the full fury of the Schmidts and the Mildly Overweight Scout. The Mildly Overweight Scout didn't say a single word after Gabe had been successfully rescued, merely disappearing down the way he came to continue racking up kills for his inexplicably high kill streak.

"This guy really doesn't talk a lot, does he?" Jeremy commented dryly.

"Who gives a shit?" Mike asked. "Some games you have this random guy who doesn't say a single word in chat but manages to fuck up the entire server single-handedly because they're that much of a gaming god. As long as they're not being an asshole about it, let them do whatever the hell they want. If they're that much of a gaming god, they probably know what they're doing a lot more than you do."

"I'm not gonna argue with that," Susie agreed, "but seriously, what the hell? This random Engineer using nothing but a shotgun has freaking 25 kills? And only 3 deaths? Just…HOW?"

"Who knows, and who cares, just thank God that they're on our side," Mike replied with a shrug as he approached the enemy Intel room. Just like Cassidy had warned, there was a sentry nest of its own guarding the intelligence, as well as an Engineer, a Medic, and a Solider standing guard. No Pyro, though, which was something of a relief to Mike.

For now, they could implement their own strategy to steal the briefcase.

"Hey, Charlie, you still got Uber?" Mike asked.

"Yup, I got it!" she confirmed.

"Cool. Cassidy, go in and either try to sap the sentries or kill the Medic," Mike instructed. "Either one will give us the distraction we need."

"Okay, but just be aware that I'm probably going to die doing this," the former Golden Freddy inhabitant warned. She disguised the Sniper as a Pyro, coming in from the side door of the intelligence room. To Cassidy's surprise and delight, none of the three BLU team members tried to attack her to Spycheck, eliminating the biggest obstacle to her ambush.

She maneuvered herself behind the Medic…and stabbed him in the back. The BLU Engineer and Soldier immediately whirled around, ready to avenge their fallen comrade. And that was when Charlie unleashed her Ubercharge on Fritz, who stormed into the Intelligence Room. Laughing maniacally, he fired several sticky bombs underneath the Sentries, detonating them and blowing up the machine instantly. The enemy Engineer and Soldier had been so focused on killing Cassidy that they were completely taken by surprise, and while the Soldier did manage to kill Cassidy by shooting her with the Shotgun, she had just enough time to put a Sapper on the Level 3 Sentry before she was killed. This was all the time Fritz needed to fire more sticky bombs at the Sentry, destroying it and leaving only the two BLU enemies remaining. With both sentries destroyed, there was nothing stopping Mike's Scout from charging in, and as the Engineer and Soldier turned their attention back towards Fritz and Charlie, Mike rushed the Engineer and smashed his brains in with his Atomizer, while a now de-Ubered Fritz finished off the Soldier with a well-aimed grenade.

"Let's get the intelligence and get out of here!" Mike declared. He grabbed the intelligence, and both Fritz and Charlie charged ahead of the passageway he was going to take, making sure they could clear the way for Mike before he followed them with the briefcase.

"Uh, guys?" Jeremy called out to them with a warning in his voice. "There's a lot of people coming back to the tower to ambush you.

"Crap," Charlie groaned. "We probably can't fight all of them, I already used up my Uber!"

"You guys go make a distraction, I'll try to sneak out through the sewers with the intelligence," Mike instructed. "If somebody else could sneak through the water to the sewers to give me some backup, that will be great."

"On it!" Fritz replied with a small salute. "Charlie, let's go!"

"Coming!" Charlie replied. The two of them advanced towards the main antechamber of the BLU team's building, while Mike doubled back and climbed down the stairs towards the sewers. On the way down, he stumbled upon a Demoman who tried to fire a grenade at him, but Mike was able to dodge the grenade and shoot down the Demoman with a shotgun. As he reached the basement level with the pipes leading to the outside, he saw a bullet whiz past his ear and grimaced as he realized that a Sniper was waiting for him at the far end of the tunnel. Mike had gotten lucky since the guy had whiffed his first shot, but he doubted his luck would hold long enough for him to march all the way down the tunnel with the Sniper having a clear line of sight on him the whole way.

"Gonna need help with the Sniper here," Mike called out in warning.

"I got it!" Susie volunteered. She had been out on the lookout perch of the RED tower trying to shoot some of the BLU team members that were setting up to ambush Fritz and Charlie, but upon Mike's request she immediately dropped down the tower and into the river, where she could see the BLU Sniper focused on the tunnel…with his back turned to her. Smirking, Susie raised an arrow and fired it, nailing the Sniper's head and killing him instantly. "Sniper down!"

"Perfect!" Mike declared as he advanced down the now safe tunnel. Once he was out, but as he advanced through the lake he could see other members of the BLU team turning and firing at him.

"Look out, Dad!" Fritz warned. "They killed me and Charlie, they're coming after you now!"

"Ah, shit…" Mike muttered. Right as he was about to make a break for it, a host of RED team allies rushed out of the tower to come to his aid. Mike could see Jeremy, Liz, and the Mildly Overweight Scout among them, all working together to make sure they could secure the final point and victory. Jeremy fired a rocket at the group of enemies, forcing the Pyro to airblast it away, but this gave the opportunity for another Soldier on his team and another Demoman to fire their own explosives, this time forcing everyone to scatter to avoid being killed. Liz launched herself at an exposed Medic, shooting him in the face with her shotgun, while the Mildly Overweight Scout somehow managed to kill an actual Scout 1v1 despite the Engineer being far less inherently capable in close quarters combat. More BLU team members rushed out of the base to come to their aid, but that didn't matter. What mattered was that Mike now had the time that he needed to get away and bring the intelligence home. He ran into the sewers of his home base, navigating through the rooms and corridors. As he approached the intelligence room, out of the corner of his eye he could see a faint flicker of blue-shaped movement. Realizing that a Spy was going to try and attack him, he turned around at the last second, causing the Spy in question to fail his stab. The sudden unexpected failure of his stab caught the Spy by surprise, and the distraction proved fatal as Cassidy promptly stabbed him in the back in a delicious twist of irony.

"Go for it, Dad!" she called out to him. Mike needed no further prompting and carried the BLU briefcase into the capture point, securing the third point for his team and victory.

"YES!" Susie pumped her fist in the air in victory. "We won!"

"Great teamwork, everyone!" Charlie praised. "That's another win for the Schmidt family!"

"VICTORY!" the announcer cheered as the BLU team members suddenly found themselves without weapons and their characters in cowering, panicked expressions. With their enemies helpless, the victorious RED team did not hesitate to slaughter them with their crit-boosted weapons with extreme prejudice.

"Man, I know this is really wrong to say, but slaughtering our enemies after we win and they can't fight is really fun," Fritz admitted with a sheepish chuckle as he blew up a fleeing Medic. "I hope that doesn't make me a sociopath or something."

Mike shrugged. "Practically every character in this game is a sociopath to some degree or another," he commented. "That's part of what makes the characters so memorable. Plus, it's not like you're killing real people or anything. Go crazy."

"I can't believe how fun this game still is even though it's been so long since it first came out," Charlie remarked. "I don't remember any other game like this that's still going strong after over 15 years."

"TF2 is a classic, and it's going to be one until the end of time," Gabe praised.

Liz, meanwhile was focused on something else. "Holy crap, you guys…" she breathed. "This Mildly Overweight Scout had 38 kills and only 3 deaths in this entire game."

"Are you serious?" Cassidy exclaimed. She opened up the scoreboard and her eyes widened. "What the hell, Liz is right! He topped the scoreboard by a mile."

"That's…actually insane," Jeremy mumbled. "I've seen meme builds playing this game, but never on someone who was THIS good. Who the hell even was this guy? And how is he such a gaming legend?"

"Who knows?" Mike asked rhetorically. "This game has tens if not hundreds of thousands of people playing it every day. We just happened to stumble upon one who happened to be a god on our team. The guy didn't really talk much, and I doubt he's interested in friending us after the game." He shrugged. "There's guys like that all the time who crush the entire game and the entire server without saying a word. Let's just move on, we'll probably never the see guy again."

Meanwhile, in Hell…

"AH, SWEET VICTORY," Nightmare grinned ruthlessly as he logged out of the game. "NOTHING QUITE SO SATISFYING AS PLAYING A GAME OF TEAM FORTRESS 2 AND UTTERLY SLAUGHTERING THE POOR FOOLS WHO ARE UNAWARE OF MY INNATE SUPERIORITY. AND IT'S ALL THE MORE ENJOYABLE WHEN I CRUSH MY ENEMIES WITH A DELIBERATELY TERRIBLE LOADOUT."

The demon lord's expression turned thoughtful. "I WILL CONCEDE THAT THE TEAM I WAS ASSIGNED TO TURNED OUT TO BE MORE COMPETENT THAN MOST IMBECILES I COME ACROSS. THE COHESION AND TEAMWORK THAT THEY DEMONSTRATED WAS MUCH MORE THAN I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED FROM AN AVERAGE PUB GAME. ALMOST REMINDS ME OF A CERTAIN FAMILY I HAVE COME TO RESPECT…NOT THAT I WOULD EVER ADMIT THAT RESPECT TO ANYONE OUTSIDE OF SCHMIDT HIMSELF, OF COURSE."

The game had been a welcome reprieve for Nightmare, and one that didn't have him cursing the incompetence of his teammates for once. But break time was over, and it was now time to return to the business of damnation and eternal torture. Although, that one moment in the game where he had narrowly dodged a bottle of Jarate from a BLU Sniper had given him a new idea…

"HEY, NIGHTMARE FREDBEAR!" Nightmare called out to his brother and second-in-command. "HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT DROWNING WILLIAM AFTON IN BOILING PISS TONIGHT?"

A/N: And that's the other filler chapter for you! Of course Nightmare would turn out to be the Mildly Overweight Scout who slaughtered the entire game…not that the Schmidt family would ever know that. And I bet you didn't expect Fritz to be one of the most competent players in the game for once. Hey, I've got to give him a break from being the Butt-Monkey all the time, right?

The "Mildly Overweight Scout" is a concept taken straight from one of Soundsmith's videos, where he plays the Engineer, a class with terrible direct combat capabilities compared to the other mercs who mainly serves as a support class through his buildings…as a Scout with nothing but a shotgun. Obviously it's a terrible meme build, but he proves to be pretty competent and gets a lot of kills in that video. And I just couldn't resist the idea of having Nightmare use that shitty meme loadout and proceed to absolutely slaughter the entire game with it, just because he felt like crushing some noobs. After all, a demon lord's gaming reflexes and skills would probably be higher than the average human's.

I have no idea how well this chapter's gonna turn out. For all I know, not a single reader of mine plays Team Fortress 2 and this entire chapter's gonna fly over everyone's heads, but hopefully at least a few of you are familiar enough with the game and how it plays to enjoy the chapter! Next chapter, we advance the plot and approach Security Breach.
