FoxOnPie: I respect your opinion, after all, I am open to criticism

But that wasn't criticism, not really. It felt more like an attack. I will accept criticism as long as it is respectful, and unfortunately yours was not. You can dislike my story, I don't mind, but calling it terrible and insulting is insulting in itself.

There are better ways to make your grievances known, and to be honest, my feelings were a bit hurt. I love both JoJo and MHA, and even if my story has it's flaws, I put a lot of effort into it. You make some valid points, and I have taken them into account, but you were also very harsh, and you essentially spat on the passion I had for this story.

I truly hope that you meant no harm, and that this was simply a misunderstanding. I would feel awful if you were trying to discourage me from writing. Even if that is the case, I will keep writing this story, because there are plenty of people who do not share your opinion.

Coolk: Ah, sorry about that...the Corpse Parts have been taken by the Speedwagon Foundation, and have been locked in a vault for safekeeping. And thank you for sticking up for me, to be honest, Fox's comment made me think that it wasn't good, and that people were just humoring me, so it was nice to get some insurance.

Marlett-R6: Gyro is going to go to U.A!

Kosaku Valentine: Thank you for the encouragement! Your comments always put me in a better mood! I'm not quite sure how Valentine would come back...but if an idea comes I'll talk about it. And don't worry, if I need any ideas, you'll be one of the first I'll go to!

Iron: Thank you! I'm truly glad you've been enjoying the story so far! I just couldn't kill off Diego! His spinoff will be a lot like Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, where it will show a lot of individual adventures, but he will also eventually pop up in the main story again! Heh...Dinopants...I'm using that.

TheSBRdude: Could it be that I...predicted you? Also, thank you! The witty banter between us has been really fun, and I hope it will continue! And thank you for defending me, it truly means a lot.

Welcome to Phase 2 of A Legacy to Protect! There is new cover art to showcase the new phase, so please check it out! I'm currently brainstorming arcs for A Legacy to Build, if anyone has ideas for Diego, let me know!

"So...I get back from a cross-country race that turned into a fight over the dead body of the Messiah...and I came home, expecting for all the shit to be over...

And then Ferret Boy got kidnapped... " Johnny stated, his face made it clear that he wasn't amused.

"Well, he can go Bakugo-fuck himself. " Gyro said, half asleep. They were still in the helicopter, and Johnny was looking at his phone to get caught up with the current news.

"Gyro...I know he's an asshole, but he didn't deserve this..." Johnny frowned. "Two more students from 1-A were inj-"

Johnny dropped his phone.

"What the hell are y-" Gyro looked at the phone.

One of the students that got hurt was Kyoka Jiro.

"Shit...Jiro..." Gyro grimaced. "She's in the hospital...says she was GASSED."

"...Mr. Pilot? Take us there, NOW!"

The pilot nodded and steered the helicopter towards the hospital, as Gyro noticed that Johnny was tapping his feet nervously.

Huh...guess that's a habit I wasn't able to see before...seeing him walk and stuff is really surreal.

But personally, Gyro couldn't help but share Johnny's discomfort. They had gone all the way to Japan, only to find out one of their friends had been hurt in a villain attack.

Not to mention it was a friend that Gyro was sure that Johnny was head over heels for.

...

Jotaro just finished checking up on Momo when his son suddenly ran past him. Jotaro blinked. What? Was I seeing things...or was that...?

Then a blonde man with a big hat ran past him too, followed by a familiar old man. Jotaro put a hand on Joseph's shoulder before he could go past him. "Hey Gramps..."

"O-oh, Jotaro! H-haven't seen you in a while!"

"Why aren't you in America? And more importantly...was that Johnny that just ran by me?"

"Um...maybe?"

"How...?"

"...would you believe me if I said it was a miracle?"

"Gramps...he shouldn't be here..."

Joseph pushed off Jotaro's hand, annoyed. "Oh yeah, and why not? He got his legs back, he's in perfect health, and...oh yeah! He just saved the world! Why isn't it safe for him to be back?!"

Jotaro frowned. "I don't know exactly what happened during that race Gramps, but coming back NOW, out of all times? You're just asking for him to get hurt again."

"He's being a Joestar! He's carrying on the legacy!"

"I never wanted him to carry on the legacy."

"W-what?"

"I never wanted him to go through the things I did! I wanted him to have to have a life free of all the blood and trauma!"

"Well, it's already too late for that! He's going to try and get back into U.A, and something tells me that he isn't going to take no for an answer!"

Jotaro glared daggers at his grandfather before turning away. I can't let this happen...I've already failed to protect him, so many times.

I'll protect you now Johnny...I'll protect you from the bloody path that you are destined to follow.

You can't become a hero, I won't let it happen!

...

Johnny sat next to his unconscious friend, his eyes filled with worry. Kyoka had never looked so...helpless. She had always had a no nonsense attitude, she was always so strong, so to see her like this...

Johnny didn't like it, he didn't like it at all.

"She...she isn't moving Gyro...why isn't she moving?"

Gyro frowned. "She was hurt really bad...why is it that we were the ones in mortal peril, and yet it was Jiro that got hurt the worst?..."

"I thought I'd be happy when I saw her again...instead it feels...horrible." Johnny grasped Kyoka's limp hand and just stared at her. She was deathly pale, even more than she already was, her eyes seemed to be glued shut. The heart monitor was beeping steadily, it wasn't like she was going to die or anything, but Johnny just wished she would wake up so he could tell her that they made it.

Gyro looked down to see that Johnny was stroking her hand, albeit without thinking. I would tease him if I wasn't so worried...I hope she wakes up soon, I have to thank her for the whole harmonica thing...

Johnny looked out the window, his mind wandering off to the moments that he and Kyoka shared. The USJ, where they began their friendship, training for the Sports Festival together, poking fun at her in her cheerleader outfit, when she comforted him at the hospital, fighting side by side in I-Island...

"Come home."

She seemed terrified for him that day...and she was probably still just as worried for him when she was attacked. She never knew that he lived through it.

Then Johnny spotted something out the window that caught his attention. A small group of familiar looking people were exiting the hospital...with a tuft of green hair in the lead.

Izuku...don't tell me...

"Yare yare daze..."

"What?"

"Gyro, could you stay with Kyoka for me? I have to do something important."

"What would that be?"

Johnny looked back at his friend before exiting the room. "I need to go stop an idiot from killing himself."

...

"What the hell are those disguises?"

Izuku whirled around, terrified that they had been discovered, only to pause as he recognized the voice. "Jo...Jo?"

"No, I'm your conscience, yes it's me!"

Iida gasped. "JOJO?! HO-"

"Shut up! Do you idiots WANT to be discovered?" Johnny's somewhat angry voice came from the wormhole on the ground. "What are you guys THINKING? Are you trying to get killed?!"

"We are rescuing Ba-" Momo was about to explain before Johnny interrupted her.

"I know, I figured it out. You of all people Yaomomo...aren't you supposed to be the responsible one?"

"I-"

"JoJo, how and why are you here?" Iida demanded.

"The race is over, and I had a chance to come back, only to find you guys attempting a rescue mission for Angry Mcrodent...and seriously Izuku, a fake beard?"

"I thought it would make me look like an adult..."

"Then cover up the freckles stupid!"

"JoJo, I'm happy to see you man, but you have to understand-" Kirishima said before getting cut off.

"I DO understand Kirishima...that's why I went out of my way to catch up to you guys."

Izuku sighed, but on the inside, he was delighted. Johnny must have beaten Valentine if he was here, he made it out alive. I know he's mad at me, but I'm just so happy to see that he is alive! If only he could come out of that wormhole, but then he would give us away.

"Why are you smiling?!"

"I...I-I'm just so happy to see you! Well...hear you!"

"...Yare yare daze..."

"There's the catchphrase." Todoroki muttered.

"Listen here Elsa, I already heard about Stain, you guys have a history of making reckless decisions."

"We have a plan this time." Iida stated. Then the class representative turned to glare at Izuku with a: You TOLD HIM?! look.

"Fine...I'll tag along in the wormhole...but when I get out I'm kicking one of you in the shin."

"But...you...can't do that..." Todoroki said, eyebrow raised.

"Sure...keep telling yourself that..."

...

"So...your son somehow recovered from a permanent injury, and you're NOT happy about it?" A shaved Aizawa said. It was weird to see the homeroom teacher without his usual stubble, but they had a press conference to go to.

"NO! I'm really happy for him...it's just...I don't want him to be in danger again..." Jotaro responded.

"Whether or not he wants to be a hero is his choice Jotaro. Mr. Joestar already reenrolled him, and the old man is one of his legal guardians. There isn't a reason why he can't come back..."

"I'm just...concerned. I saw him get hurt once, and while I have no idea what happened in that race...but I don't want to fail him again."

Aizawa frowned, but said nothing.

"...I'll make you a deal, Aizawa."

"Hm?"

"Johnny has to make up the Final Exam either way, right? If he passes, he can rejoin Class 1A...if he fails, he can't come back."

"...and just who would he be facing?"

"The only teacher who didn't get a crack at the students yet."

"You."

Jotaro nodded. "If Johnny has truly grown...then I want to see for myself. I want to see if he can handle going up against a powerful enemy. Then, maybe I won't have to worry about him anymore..."

Aizawa pressed his lips together. Jotaro clearly has an ulterior motive...but if Johnny can beat him, it might relieve some of the pressure that he has been feeling. Plus, anyone that can beat Jotaro is bound to be one of the strongest heroes alive...if Johnny wins, Class 1A will have a new powerhouse.

"Alright Jotaro, I can take that bet. You and Johnny going head to head...but with one exception."

"What?"

"No time stopping. It would be unfair to him, wouldn't you think?"

"Yes, I agree. I want to give him a fair fight, stopping time wouldn't be sportsman like at all."

Aizawa nodded, not noticing that Jotaro had his fingers crossed. I'm not going to let Johnny go through with this...

I WILL stop him.

...

Kyoka groaned.

Her whole face felt like lead, and she wasn't ready to open her eyes. Then she heard humming, and the crackle of plastic coming from beside her, and then a crunching sound.

Clearly, someone was enjoying a snack.

Kyoka slowly peeled her eyelids open, and turned her head in the direction of the crunching sounds...

Only to make eye contact with Gyro, who was eating potato chips right beside her ear.

"AHHHHHHHH!"

Kyoka scrambled to the other side of the bed in a panic. "WHAT THE HELL MAN!"

"Nyo ho, it worked!"

Kyoka blinked. "Wait...how...?"

Gyro grinned. "Didn't expect to see me again so soon, eh Jiro?"

"But...you're supposed to be in..."

"Race ended, I won, believe it or not."

Kyoka's eyes widened like saucers. "D-does that mean-"

"He was just here, he had to leave to take care of something...we did it Jiro, Valentine was defeated, and the Corpse is in the right hands."

Kyoka blinked, before a smile made it's way onto her face. "I-I knew you guys would...and you're here! In Japan! Both of you!"

"Well...I wouldn't be if it weren't for you."

"Huh?"

Gyro pulled out her harmonica, a bullet still lodged in it. "If you hadn't given me this...this bullet would be in my heart right now...and I'd be long gone. The final fight was pretty nasty, and if I died, I think Johnny would have too, so thanks, you saved us!"

Kyoka took the harmonica in her hands and held it to her heart. This...this thing really is good luck! It brought my friends back to me...man, what a thing to wake up to!

"So...now that we're going to be talking in person again...when are you gonna ask Johnny out?"

Never mind, I want to go back to sleep.

"Pfffffft, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The look on your face! Relax...I'm not going to force you into it or anything..."

"Good, because it would never work out."

Gyro raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"

"It just won't, okay? He...he deserves someone better than me."

Gyro frowned. Oh...she has an image problem...no matter, I can help her with that over time. She does know that Johnny has to like her back...right?

It's wingman time!

...

Momo shuddered as a wormhole crawled it's way up her back. "Can't you just come out JoJo? We aren't going to be seen."

"No, I'm not taking any chances. I'm already risking enough coming with you guys." Johnny's voice responded as the wormhole attached itself to a window. "By the way, that wig looks ridiculous."

Todoroki frowned and slowly took it off. "I thought it was a good disguise."

"What about mine? Do the horns look cool?" Kirishima asked.

"I could tell who you guys were from a mile away! The only person who I didn't recognize immediately was Iida."

Iida smiled to himself.

"Hey, don't look so satisfied, I still recognized you."

Izuku absent mindedly scratched the fake beard, and Johnny's hand came out of the wormhole and ripped it off. "Hey!"

"Stop pretending it's real, you look ridiculous."

The two childhood friends, or at least one childhood friend and the other's disembodied hand, began to wrestle over the fake beard. Johnny eventually won, and pulled the fake beard into the wormhole.

CRASH!

All of the teenaged heroes whirled around to see that Mountain Lady had smashed a big hole into the building.

"Pro heroes!"

...

"Soooooo...hypothetically, if you were to ask Johnny out-"

"Why do you keep bringing this up? I told you that I don't think it would work out, we're better off as friends." Kyoka was starting to get annoyed.

"Well, you told me you had a thing for him, and I personally don't see anything going wrong in that scenario." Gyro responded. "You two clearly have chemistry, you're closer than friends, it's pointless to deny it."

"Have you looked at me? I'm not exactly the best example of a girl, Gyro."

"Says who? I'll kick their ass!"

"...the other girls at my middle school..."

Gyro blinked. "Were you bullied?"

Kyoka nodded, rubbing her arms. "They...used to make fun of my ears...and me...alot. I've only recently got past the ears, but I can't help but agree with them when it comes to my body..."

"That's bullshit."

Kyoka snorted. "You're just being nice Gyro...you're the second person I've ever admitted this to... "

"Huh, I wonder who was the first?"

Kyoka blushed. "Look, I l-love Johnny. I'm...willing to admit it now...but I know that he can do so much better than me, he deserves it. I don't want to act on it, because I'll never be able to make him happy. It would just fall apart. What was the saying? If you love them, let them go?"

"Jiro...you're an idiot...but I think I'll let you figure that out on your own. Just know...the way you see yourself, is complete and utter bullshit. I mean it."

"Sure...whatever you say Gyro."

...

Oh fuck...how could things go so horribly wrong?

Johnny was cooped up in his wormhole, but he was feeling the same thing his former classmates were:

Pure terror.

A villain levitated above a severely wounded Best Jeanist, laughing as the whole League of Villains, and a subdued Bakugo, appeared from a set of portals.

That has to be All For One...God, it's like my fight with Valentine all over again...

Hm...oh well...time to do a crazy.

Iida restrained Izuku as he was about to move, when they both noticed a wormhole zip into the area where the villains were. JoJo?! What is he doing?!

Then All Might came barreling down from the sky, clashing with All For One.

The battle had begun.

...

Bakugo slowly backed away from the villains as he tried to think of a plan.

"Psst."

"Wha-"

"Hey Ferret Boy, down here!"

Bakugo angrily looked down at a wormhole. He had seen Johnny's new ability on I-Island, so he knew who it was.

The question was HOW?

"What the hell are you doing here, Star Kid?" Bakugo muttered under his breath so the villains couldn't hear him.

"Helping your sorry ass escape. I'm going to move this wormhole onto your back, and you have to promise me that you won't do something reckless."

"I don't need your fucking help!" Bakugo hissed.

"Fine, let me speak your language. I can be a useful tool for you to use in your escape, you don't need me, but it will be a hell of a lot easier...capiche?"

"Fine."

Just then, a group of students shot overhead, and Kirishima's voice was heard clear as day:

"COME!"

Bakugo blasted into the sky, Johnny's wormhole on his back, as he grasped onto Kirishima's hand. Just then, a villain, Mr. Compress, shot after them. Mt. Lady attempted to block his path, but he was a little too quick for her. He readied his marbles as he prepared to take Bakugo again...

Only to come face-to-face with a certain Tusk Act 4, who had emerged from Bakugo's back with both fists raised in the air. All of the 1A students stared in shock as the massive stand entered their line of sight.

Is that JoJo's stand?! When did it get so big?!

"ORAAAAA!" ACT 4 cried as it brought it's fists down onto Compress' back, smacking the villain all the way down to the ground with a sickening thud. That was a love tap, by the way.

The heroes shot away as All Might's fateful battle with his arch-nemesis continued.

...

"JoJo, your stand was amazing! I didn't know they could grow!" Kirishima looked around for the wormhole, but it had vanished.

In fact, there wasn't any evidence that their friend was there to begin with.

Did...did he just pull a Batman?

...

Gyro was now sitting next to Kyoka on her hospital bed, and they were sharing his bag of chips.

"So then Valentine disintegrated." Gyro finished retelling the final battle.

"Wow, so...how is America doing? I mean, you kind of made the President disappear and all."

"Valentine's vice president took over. Everyone over there is still kind of in shock, y'know? That's why it's best if this information never gets out."

"Ah...question, where did Johnny go? He couldn't have gone far in a wheelchair."

Gyro grinned as the door to the hospital room opened up, and Johnny walked right in.

"Oh...you're awake..."

Kyoka stared at Johnny in shock before a wide smile appeared on her face. Before he could say anything else, she had lept off of the bed and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace.

"You did it...you actually did it, you madman!"

"I did...and I'm not leaving you guys, ever again."

"I was so worried. You better not do that to me again Johnny, or I'll shove my boot so far up your ass, you'll be tasting rubber."

"I'll try my best." Johnny held onto Kyoka, a rush of feelings running through his head. He knew he should be worried for how All Might was doing, but at the moment he felt content to be where he was.

Gyro watched the two with a smile on his face.
