It has been 100 years since I have updated this story. Sorry.

The hall was empty. At least she thought it had been.

How could Randy have even been aware of her exchange with Roman?

A chill ran through her. The feeling of being watched washed over her.

Randy had always creeped her out but he had ramped up his creep factor to a whole other level with just one text.

Her phone beeped again, this time with a text from Stephanie telling her where to go. She sighed heavily and made her way back to the busy area of the arena. she knocked on the door with 'The Authority' moniker on it and let herself in.

"There you are." Stephanie huffed, looking at her watch simultaneously, "It took you long enough."

Shiloh crossed her arms , "I'd rather not discuss time management with you, If you don't mind."

Hunter looked up from the magazine he was reading, "You're still in a pissy mood I see."

She glared at him, "It was my birthday."

"You have one every year Shi. Chill the fuck out." he said, the agitation clearly evident in his voice.

"Okay, both of you, that's enough." Stephanie raised her hands between them, "I'm sorry we didn't come to dinner. I couldn't tell you my plan because then your reaction wouldn't have been genuine."

Shiloh was quickly becoming even more furious than she had been before. To hear that this was some scheme cooked up by her sister all along, hurt even worse than being left alone at dinner.

"What are you talking about?" Shiloh half screamed, "You intentionally ruined my birthday to upset and embarrass me? For what? Some stupid fucking plan?"

"Watch your fucking language!" Hunter interrupted from the couch.

"Watch your own asshole." Shiloh shouted back.

She hated him too.

Just because he married into the family didn't give him the right to treat her like everyone else did.

"Who the fuck do you think you are little girl?" he threw the magazine onto the couch and was on his feet in an instant.

"That's enough!" Stephanie yelled coming between them, "I need some privacy to talk to her."

Hunter stepped dangerously close to Shiloh and pointed a meaty finger in her face, "The next time you speak to me like that, I'm going to beat your ass. I'm sure you're long overdue for a spanking, you fucking brat."

Shiloh quivered in fear, but managed to stand her ground against him.

He left the room like a brooding storm cloud, slamming the door behind him for good measure.

"Can't say that I blame him." Stephanie sighed, taking a seat on the now vacant couch, "You shouldn't have spoken to him like that."

"I don't give a shit about your stupid husband." she replied, her voice cracking from more tears, "Just send me home so I don't have to deal with any of you."

Stephanie poked her lip out, "Come here and listen to me first, okay?"

She shook her head stubbornly. Tears were falling at a steady pace now.

"Fine, " Stephanie conceded, "I set the whole thing up to get you close to Roman."

"Why would you do something like that? I've worked pretty much everybody in this business, he's no different." she cried.

If they thought she was losing her touch there was no telling where she would go from there.

Stephanie shook her head, "That's just it...he is different He's practically wrestling royalty. Not like us, mind you, but close enough. I had to take a different approach with him and you for that matter."

Shiloh still wasn't understanding, "What difference does it make? he's just another mark."

"You're underestimating him Shi. He's smarter than that." she argued, "I needed him to feel attached to you immediately. I needed him to want to protect you or help you the moment he met you or this would never work. That's why I had to ruin your birthday dinner."

"You could have just told me." Shiloh frowned.

The game had never changed, only the people. Apparently her sister knew something she didn't about Roman. Not that she had gotten to know him exceptionally well.

At least he was younger than her usual targets. That was a plus in her book.

"Tell me how it went. Did he show any interest in you?" Stephanie asked, her eyes lighting up.

"It sucked. I cried, the food was okay, he followed me to the elevator because I stormed out. Just your typical horribly awkward birthday dinner." Shiloh sighed, finally taking a seat on the couch.

"He wasn't into you at all?" She asked again just to be sure.

Shiloh rolled her eyes, "It wasn't very romantic to begin with. He was nice to me just before I got here though."

Stephanie perked back up, "What do you mean? What happened?"

"I apologized to him, he apologized to me. It wasn't that big of a deal." She answered blandly.

"It could be Shi. This might just work for us after all." She smiled widely, her eyes crinkling at the corners.

"Yay!" Shiloh gestured sarcastically.

"Come on. Hang out with me tonight for the show." Stephanie chose to ignore her comment, "I know its not dinner, but its something right?"

"Seriously?" she was skeptic of the offer, with good reason.

"Yes, come on. You can help me control the chaos." she patted her sisters leg and stood up to walk briskly to the door.

Shiloh hadn't moved due to the shock she was still in.

"Are you coming?" Stephanie raised her eyebrows in question.

Shiloh shrugged, "Why not. Its something, I guess."

Shadowing Stephanie had been surprisingly productive. Shiloh paid attention and stayed out of the way, as was expected of her. She had enjoyed spending time with her sister.

Just being in her presence was enough to make her anger wane. They would never know how much even their minimum attention meant everything to her.

Stephanie was busy prepping for the main event of the night, so she hid herself in a less crowded area until the show was over with.

"Are you avoiding me little Daisy?" a deep voice whispered in her ear.

She spun instantly. The semi-good time she was having was about to come to a screeching halt.

"Randy..." She gasped his name, when she realized just how close he had gotten to her.

He was invading her personal space again. He did it to intimidate her; a tactic of his that never failed.

"I feel like you've been avoiding me for some reason and I can't figure out why?" He continued the conversation, more to himself rather than to her.

This was another favorite game of his. A verbal cat and mouse sparring to bait her into revealing too much information. He was better at manipulating her than her family, and that was saying something.

"Was it the text message I sent you?"

He was almost purring from the satisfaction he was getting from tormenting her.

"I've been with my sister all night. We've been busy with the show." She answered when she finally found her voice to speak.

"She's been busy with the show you mean?" He corrected her, his hand coming up to brush her hair away from her neck.

He leaned in slowly to drag more fear out of her, "You just walk around looking fucking gorgeous and untouchable."

She cursed herself for trembling, for letting him know she was this afraid of him. Of course her first instinct was to run away from him as fast as she could.

She had learned that was the worst thing for her to do.

Avoiding Randy, regardless of her intention, pissed him off. And when Randy was angry with her, he lashed out. Publicly humiliating her was always his go to punishment.

She felt his breath on her ear and fought down the shiver attempting to race down her spine.

"So tell me sweet Daisy, why did you let Roman touch you?" He asked smoothly.

He was still leading the conversation. She knew better than to interrupt.

He placed his hands on the wall behind her to block her in.

He pressed against her uncomfortably, "Does he not know you're off limits?"

Thank God he had opted to put his shirt back on after his match. She never dealt well with physical contact with him. The way he had her backed into the wall, well, it would have been an entirely new level of torture from him. She didn't want to give him any new ideas of ammunition to use against her.

He brushed his nose along her jaw line, forcing her to turn her head, "Does he not know what I'm capable of when it concerns you?"

"Randy...you're blowing this way out of proportion. We were just talking." She tried to diffuse his mounting anger.

It was useless at this point. He had been fuming about this for the better part of the night. This had become a very big deal to him.

"I'll break him right in front of you. Or maybe there will be an unfortunate accident. Anything could happen really." He pulled far enough away from her where she could see the fire in his eyes.

The Viper within him was restless and was looking for a victim to sink its fangs into.

"That won't be necessary Randy." She tried to sound strong, but she knew he could hear the weakness in her words.

His lip curled into the most devious smirk she had ever seen, "See, that it isn't little Daisy. I would hate to see you get caught in the middle of all of this. I don't want you to feel guilty or responsible if anything should happen to him. You don't want that right?"

He knew the answer before she slowly shook her head.

"Hey Roman." Seth stopped in the middle of the hallway, "Is she with him?"

They were making their way back to the locker room after their appearance during the show.

"Who?" Roman asked, backing up to peek around the corner at whoever Seth was glaring at.

His nostrils flared in anger seeing Randy antagonizing Shiloh further down the hallway.

"No. They're not together." he snarled.

It was clearly obvious that they were not having a normal, friendly chat. Her tense body language could be read from a mile away.

"I don't like it." Seth growled, flexing his gloved hands as he continued to glare down the hallway at the pair.

"There's not anything we can really do." Roman muttered, the muscles in his chiseled jaw clenched involuntarily when Randy began nuzzling her neck.

Dean who had been watching passively behind them sprung into action.

"Pffftt...watch this." he smirked in response to Roman's comment.

Seth chuckled under his breath, "Shit...here we go."

This was one of the few times he really appreciated the unpredictable nature of Dean Ambrose. It was always handy to fight fire with fire, or in this case, psychopath against psychopath.

"There you are!" Dean boomed overly loud as he sauntered down the hallway toward them, "We've been looking all over for you."

Randy cut his eyes over his shoulder, his assault on Shiloh halted for the moment.

"You've got the wrong girl Ambrose." he said looking back down at her menacingly.

"No, actually I don't. That's Shiloh and we have plans." Dean was exerting a surprising amount of patience at this point.

Roman and Seth came to stand at his side, watching and waiting warily.

"She's busy." Randy dismissed, glaring at her evilly.

Shiloh didn't dare open her mouth to confirm or deny anything at this point. She had been conditioned well to not disobey him.

"Yeah, I know. She's busy going out with us for her birthday." Dean lied coolly, "So maybe do me a solid and stop being a fucking perv for about twenty seconds so we can get out of here."

Randy smirked and turned to face the three members of the Shield, making sure to keep Shiloh behind him.

"She's not going with you. Stephanie would have my head if I let her out of my sight." Randy lied just as easily as Dean had.

Shiloh shook her head slightly at them from behind Randy. His threat was still reverberating in her head. They had no clue what they were getting themselves into in their attempt to intervene on her behalf.

That look on her face. That damn terrified, helpless look.

Roman already knew deep down what he was about to do was going to be really stupid on his part. He didn't owe her any favors, they had already settled up their debts to each other. But for the life of him, he just could not seem to stop himself from wanting to rescue her from this situation.

"I already talked to Steph about her going. Its kind of a re-do for last night." he said quickly before Dean could speak up and make matters worse.

Randy narrowed his eyes, "You talked to Stephanie? About her?"

Roman nodded, his mouth twitching into a cocky grin, "Yeah. She was cool with it."

Randy glared down at Shiloh, "So are going to go or...?"

He trailed off intentionally to make it seem like she had a choice in the matter.

She blanched under his intense gaze. The muscles in Randy's jaw looked as if they were about to snap. She bit her lip nervously, knowing that she was going to have to somehow decline their offer.

Roman wasn't about to let her off that easily, however.

He held his hand out to her, "Come on baby girl, we've got to get you back before your curfew."

He was silently pleading with his eyes to get her to accept his offer.

She knew she would regret her decision later. She lowered her head to avoid Randy's wrath and timidly put her hand in Roman's.

She heard Seth's sigh of relief as Roman lead her past him and back down the hall.

Every instinct inside of her was screaming at her to pull away from Roman and run back and beg Randy not to retaliate. She was going to have hell to pay for slighting him twice in one night, that was a given.

When and how were the only variables.

Her feet were slowing out of fear. Roman's grip tightened when he felt her hesitation. They were already past the point of no return.

Seth caught up to them easily falling into stride on the opposite side of Shiloh.

"Keep going and don't turn around." he whispered encouragingly.

She swallowed the lump of fear that was lodged in her throat. It was too late for her to make amends anyways. She was simply going to have to wait for the hammer to drop and deal with the fallout from it.

When they finally turned the corner, she breathed a sigh of relief. For the briefest of moments she could relax knowing that Randy couldn't bother her with them around.

"Later Randall." Dean hollered back in the most sarcastic tone he could muster.

Shiloh groaned hearing Seth and Roman snicker.

He just had to get in one more dig. He couldn't leave well enough alone.

"You didn't have to do that." Shiloh said quietly once they were in the locker room, "You shouldn't have, actually."

"What do you mean? We weren't just going to ignore what he was doing to you." Seth shook his head as he took off his gloves.

She bit her lip, "You don't understand though, Randy is a really bad guy."

"We're not even remotely afraid of that prick." Roman snorted.

"Yeah, fuck Randy." Dean added before fishing a beer from his bag.

"Thank you for what you did." She said softly.

The awkward tension was settling back in the room. They were practically strangers despite their recent actions.

Seth smiled warmly at her breaking the silence, "Anytime. If he tries to bother you again just come find one of us and we'll handle it."

Shiloh smiled and nodded despite her doubts. Seth's confidence in the matter made her feel a little better anyways.

After they had showered and changed they made it a point to walk her to her car.

"Thank you again for everything." She said out of the Window of her SUV, "I know I don't have a very good track record with dinner dates, but I owe you at least a round of drinks sometime."

"I'll take you up on that offer." Dean grinned from behind the wheel.

"See you later." She waved, pulling out of the parking lot.

"Follow her." Roman commanded, his eyes never leaving the backside of her vehicle.

"What?" Dean furrowed his brow.

He just wanted to pass out and catch a few hours of sleep before their flight in the morning.

"Just do it." He griped, "I wouldn't put it past Randy to be waiting on her at her hotel or something."

"You got it so bad dude." Seth laughed from the backseat.

Roman clenched his jaw, keeping his eyes on her taillights ahead of them.

He just felt sorry for her.

That was it.

Dean nor Seth had heard her anguish about basically being an outcast. They didn't know that she didn't have anyone to check up on her.

"Happy now?" Dean sarcastically asked when they pulled up to her hotel.

"I'll be right back." Roman mumbled climbing out of the car.

"This is going to cost her another round of drinks!" Dean shouted out the window.

Roman flipped him off and jogged up to the entrance where she was getting her car valeted.

"What are you doing here?" Shiloh asked, shocked by his sudden appearance.

"I really don't know, other than I wanted to make sure you got to your room safe and sound." He admitted sheepishly.

Dean and Seth were making cat calls and whistling from the car.

Shiloh blushed profusely, "That's really nice of you...All of you."

Roman glared behind him, " Just ignore them, I do for the most part."

"Right that's probably good advice." She agreed, waving at them one last time.

Roman followed her to the elevators. He was going purely on instinct at this point. He was about 99% sure that Randy wasn't lurking around a corner somewhere, but he couldn't leave her just yet.

"Why is he like that with you?" He asked breaking up the silence filling the lift.

"Randy?" She questioned, "He's never really been nice to me. Ever. There's a lot of boring history between us. We've just never gotten along. "

Roman nodded pensively. He doubted it was as boring as she attempted to make it sound.

She unlocked the door and stepped inside. Roman, still acting on instinct, inspected the room quickly before going back out into the hallway. He needed to give his following her up to her room a purpose. At least that's what he told himself.

"Roman, just do me a favor and be careful around Randy." She requested, leaning against the door frame.

He laughed, "I'm not worried about Randy."

"I know, I know. It would make me feel a lot better if you took him a little more seriously though." She pleaded, "He scares me because I know what he's capable of."

Roman caught the double entendre in her statement. Randy had obviously done something to scare her in the past. He could only imagine what Randy was capable of without anyone there to run interference on Shiloh's behalf.

His jaw flexed involuntarily again as the endless worst case scenarios ran through his mind.

His steely eyes found their way back to her face.

She did seem truly worried about his well being. That she was being honest about at least.

"I'll keep an eye out for him." He gave in, "Have a good night."

"Thank you." She smiled before closing the door.

She leaned against it letting out a long sigh of relief. Maybe Stephanie was right about him.

Maybe this wasn't going to be such a bad idea after all.
