On Remy's day, Victoria surprised him with breakfast in bed.
"Oh…what is this?" Remy says, sitting up in bed.
"Happy Sweet 16th birthday, my handsome prince!" Victoria says. "It's a big day today!"
Remy had tears of laughter and joy in his eyes. He smiled as he ate every bite of his breakfast.
"Thank you, Mom." Remy says.
"You deserve it today, birthday boy!" Victoria says. "You better hurry up and get ready for school! I'm taking you to school in the limo this morning so you won't have to ride the bus!"
Remy grinned and got dressed for school. He gets in the limo with a smile on his face.
Skylia was planning the wedding with Gabriel as Oliver goes to school.
The twins headed out as well.
Meanwhile, the siblings were heading out as Jessica waves bye to them. Luke waved before climbing onto the bus for school.
Jessica goes to the fridge trying to reach for cereal. Charity helps make her breakfast.
At Oakley Academy, Remy steps out of his family limo and walks into the school. Girls screamed, wanting autographs.
The school was flooded with pictures of Remy and a banner that says "Remy Estevez Is 16 Today!"
Remy smiled at this, feeling special.
In class, Remy saw his friends whispering about him and working. They stopped doing so when they saw him.
"Oh, hi, guys…what's going on?" Remy asked.
They hide what they're working on, which just makes Remy more curious. But he doesn't ask about it.
In class at Royal Woods Middle School, Haiku was thinking of Remy.
Haiku blushes and holds his gift close to her. She was hoping he would like it. She put a lot of thought into picking it for him.
At lunch, Haiku ate with her friends.
At Oakley Academy, Remy ate lunch alone as his friends were huddled at a different table, giggling and whispering.
Remy began to cry as he covered his face with his hands.
Meanwhile, at Royal Woods Middle School, Haiku had finished her lunch.
"So, you're going to his party. Remy is pretty famous. Can you handle all of those people?" Lucy asked.
"Maggie is going with me." Haiku says. "She was invited, too."
Lucy noticed Haiku looking down a bit nervously and holding the gift tightly.
"Remy will like it." Lucy says. "Maggie will take good care of you and will be there if you need her."
That made Haiku feel a bit better.
After school, Remy ran off the bus and into his house. He stripped himself of his clothes and stepped into a decompression bath with his peppermint & wintergreen bath salts. He was shedding sad tears.
"They hate me…" Remy sobbed.
"Sweetie, what happened?" Victoria asked.
"They avoided me all day at school!" Remy sobbed. "They acted like I didn't exist!"
"Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry your day at school was bad." Victoria says. "As soon as you finish your bath, we'll sit and talk about it over some Oreo pudding."
Remy smiled a little. Oreo pudding is his favorite treat.
With Luke, he felt bad for pushing Remy away at school. But he didn't want the surprise to be ruined.
"You forgot Remy's birthday?!" Luna asked.
"He was planning…" Luke started to say.
"You better explain yourself." Charity said. "Victoria just called me and told me everything."
He explained the plan for the party.
"You really made him feel like he wasn't special today." Charity says. "He is very upset with you and your friends."
Luke looks a bit ashamed.
Later, Remy is getting ready for his party. It's going to take place at the Royal Woods Country Club, where his mom is a member.
Remy sighed and took one more look at his reflection. He then left with his mom, head hung down.
They arrived as confetti fell. Remy sniffed and looked up.
"Surprise! Happy Sweet 16th birthday, Remy!" Everyone says. Remy sniffed. He didn't see his friends anywhere, which made him want to cry again. They came up as Remy looked away, still hurt.
"You all hate me!" Remy cried as his friends looked at him.
"We planned this for you!" Stephen says.
"We never forgot about your birthday, Remy…" Lonnie says.
"We just wanted to surprise you!" Oliver says with a smile.
"Don't cry, Remy…we're sorry we hurt your feelings…" Luke says, trying to make his friend happy.
Haiku goes up to him. Remy looks at her. "I-I made something for you." She said as she gave it to Remy.
Remy opened the gift. It was a heart crystal with Remy's face engraved into it. Remy gasped and smiled at this.
"I love it! And I love you!" Remy says, hugging Haiku.
Haiku smiled, finally being able to come out of her shell.
"You'll love my gift more." Luke says.
"We'll see about that. For now, it's time to dance!" Remy says.
"You're really not going to open my gift now? Some friend you are!" Luke says and storms out.
"Did he…um…want it to be gift time?" Remy says.
"Pretty much." Oliver says.
Some time later, Remy finally sits and opens his gifts. He decided to open Luke's gift first.
"Oooh, what is this?" Remy says after unwrapping Luke's gift.
It was a homemade carnival-themed train set. Remy's eyes lit up.
"This is just fantastic…" Remy says. "I love this! Thanks, Luke!"
Remy opens Stephen's gift next, which was a cookie chocolate fountain. Haiku had left, feeling she didn't mean much.
Secretly, even though Remy was getting amazing gifts, he loved Haiku's gift most of all.
Remy got to the final gift in the pile, which was from his mom. He opened it carefully.
It was a set of keys. Remy looked at them. "What are these for?" He asked.
Victoria leads him outside to show him his new car. Remy screamed with excitement.
"Mom, you got me a Mercedes-Benz?! This is incredible!" Remy says.
Victoria nods. Remy hugs his mother with a huge grin on his face.
After gifts, the dancing begins. Remy dances alone.
Haiku forced herself to dance with him in the big crowd as Haiku fights the urge to vomit. She pushed her head on his chest, hoping it would help.
Remy smiled and held Haiku close. "Don't focus on them. Just look at me." Remy says.
"Okay…" Haiku says. She looked at Remy as they danced. And to her surprise, it worked. She didn't vomit even once. She began to relax.
They soon sit down together. The food was still being prepared, so everyone was mingling and dancing while Remy sat with Haiku.
"Enjoying your day?" Haiku says.
"My mom's giving me a second party tomorrow because of last year…" Remy says, trailing off, remembering a lot about his past birthdays before this one. He then walked out.
Luke looked annoyed. His traditions were being stolen and Lola was getting a birthweek, whatever that was. But Charity was quick to tell Luke that lots of kids get two parties for their birthdays and he isn't the only one. He sighed in defeat.
"I was busy tomorrow. My hero anniversary is tomorrow." Luke says.
"Isn't it in May?" Lucy asked.
"That's my cheerleading anniversary, then there's my movie anniversary, and my figure skating anniversaries that need celebrating, too…" Luke hissed.
Jessica tried to count, but couldn't as that was too many.
"And if Lola is getting a birthweek, then so should I!" Luke says.
Remy just stormed off in tears.
"You ruined his birthday." Haiku says "You know how hard party planning is?"
"We thought you would have changed your selfish ways. But I think we were wrong." Oliver says as the others nod.
"You guys forgot my anniversaries last year!" Luke sobbed as Lucy felt guilty for not keeping track.
"I'm sorry." Lucy says, ashamed.
"ENOUGH!" Victoria shouted. "All my sweet Remy ever wanted was one birthday that he could remember forever! A good birthday! But all I'm seeing is selfishness, bitterness, anger, and so many things that have ruined my sweet Remy's special day!"
"Luke Flynn, you only have one anniversary a year! ONE! And that's in January! Your other ones aren't major like that one. And you're getting three days for your birthday this year. That's it. And if I see a fit, I will move it to two days." Charity says sternly. Luke finally shuts up, realizing he's in big trouble. Luke really has issues seeing others enjoy their birthdays.
"Looks like Luke's not going to be home." Lucy sighed. Charity finally snapped and stormed out of the country club.
Remy cried outside the country club, his face buried in his knees as he sobbed.
"Come back, please. For me?" Haiku says.
"He had the NERVE to mention his days at my Sweet 16! And he still doesn't know how to quit being selfish!" Remy sobbed. "This is my night! Not his!"
He cried, remembering when he had so many of his birthdays stolen from him because of his mom's work and how he hadn't had any friends in the past to celebrate with. Haiku reads him a poem as he sniffed. She saw how sad he felt after he had been so happy earlier.
"You are all grounded!" Charity shouted. "Except for Jessica, who is actually behaving herself."
"What did we do?" Lana asked.
"You all just had to exhibit your selfish behavior!" Charity says.
"Um, mom, not all of us, were invited." Lucy says as only she, Luna, Leni, Luan, and Lana could make it as Lincoln was at a sleepover, Lola had a thing to do with Meli, Lori was too busy trying to get her life together, andLynn had a game.
"Still! You kids couldn't keep a lid on the selfishness! Not even for one night!" Charity says.
"Lucy hasn't done anything and I needed Luan to do her thing. Also what has Lincoln done?" Haiku asked.
"Lincoln hasn't done anything. I meant the ones who actually came to this party were being punished for selfish behavior." Charity says.
Lucy looks down. "Bye, Haiku. I'm going home." But Charity sat her right back down.
"We are staying until the party is over. And once it's over, we are going home and you all will go straight to bed. No screen time of any kind. Straight to bed to think about the behavior you exhibited." Charity says sternly.
"Is this because I said Luke might not come home?" Lucy asked.
"He has his issues. He stays away from home for 2 or 3 days at most. But not forever. That's not the point. The point is that the rest of you, aside from Lucy, Leni and Jessica, acted selfishly." Charity says.
"What did you do?" Haiku asked Lucy, knowing Lucy just keeps to herself at these parties.
"I didn't do anything to Remy, honest." Lucy says.
"Wow, your therapy worked, you have changed." Haiku says.
Later, Luan told jokes. But Remy still sat outside, shedding tears.
"Hey, honey. Are you okay?" Victoria asked Remy as she held him.
"No…" Remy sobbed.
"How bad is the damage?" Luna asked.
"What damage?" Luan asked.
"The messes you made due to being selfish." Charity says.
"Bad…it's bad. It's horrible." Luna says.
"You ruined Remy's Sweet 16." Charity says. "Because you couldn't put a lid on your selfishness. And just so you know, I'm sorry won't cut it this time. You all messed up big time. And if I see you throw a fit, Luke Flynn, you won't go to any camps this summer. Or have your half-birthday party."
Luke nods dejectedly, not wanting to lose his camp or half-birthday privileges.
"You better find a way to fix this day for Remy." Charity says. "If you don't, I will."
Haiku leads Remy in as his favorite band was there. Remy gasped.
"You actually got Far East Movement…" Remy says, surprised. "Amazing!"
Remy danced around as the band played. As this was happening, the country club chefs had brought out the food.
Remy gets first servings before the others get theirs.
Lucy noticed Haiku panicking.
"What's wrong?" Maggie asked.
"I don't want this party to fail…I spent a year and a half planning it, with Luke's help because he knew a bit about Remy's likes and dislikes." Haiku said as she shook "And your siblings aren't being help-" Haiku said before she vomited due to stress. Maggie took her to the bathroom.
"It's like me planning for Luke and the others…" Lucy says. She then turns to her siblings who exhibited selfish behavior.
"Look, we're sorry, Lucy." Luna says.
"My friend just wanted to make Remy happy, but you ruined it. You couldn't stop being selfish for one day!" Lucy says.
Later in the party, Remy just went upstairs to sit on the balcony.
Luke came to him. "Hey, I'm sorry for what I did. I…I just…I ruined your birthday!" Luke sobbed. Remy sniffed before telling him about his past birthdays. Especially the ones that were rushed because of his mom's work. He then sniffed.
"All I ever wanted was one birthday I could remember forever for once…but no…this one got ruined. Big time." Remy sniffed.
Luke feels bad for how he acted. And he felt mad at the siblings who chose selfishness over their best behavior.
Remy could hear panting and harsh breathing. It was Haiku's.
She was having a panic attack. Maggie was trying everything, but nothing seemed to work. Remy dashed in and held Haiku.
Haiku sobbed as Remy held her close.
"Shhh…shhh…I'm right here…" Remy says.
"I wanted today to be your perfect day…" Haiku says.
"I know. I blame Luke and Lucy's selfish siblings for this. They're the ones who tried to ruin things." Remy says.
Charity told those siblings to sit out at piñata time as punishment.
Remy hit the piñata, his furious feelings fueling the hardest hit that was swung. He took his share of candy and put it away.
He was then tripped by Luan, who laughed at him.
Haiku and Lucy saw red. Haiku blasted Luan with a big powerful magic blast in anger as her emotions were out of control. In the process, she blasted Remy into the 16-tiered cake.
Remy bounced off it, confused.
"You made a bouncy cake?" Lucy asked.
"I didn't trust Luan, so I swapped cakes." Haiku hissed, having hid the real cake, but ran out of the party, sobbing, full of guilt, having hurt Remy.
"LUAN LYDIA HUNTINGTON!" Charity shouted. Luan froze.
"CAR. NOW!" Forest shouts. Luan nodded.
"At least Oliver's siblings aren't like this." Stephen says. Remy shakily stood up.
"Gasp, your arm!" Lucy says as it was burnt.
"How did I burn my arm?" Remy asked.
"You're not screaming in pain?" Lucy asked curiously.
"I'm sore, but not in pain." Remy says.
"Haiku burnt your arm…" Lucy says.
"My new suit is ruined…" Remy sniffed.
"Seriously, is he that concerned about his suit? He's weirding me out." Leni says as Lucy uses magic to fix the suit.
Lucy gives him candy to eat as he takes it.
Lucy soon finds Haiku. Haiku was shaking and sobbing hard. Lucy knew Haiku was feeling horrible for burning Remy.
"You were trying to stop Luan. And let's just say she'll be grounded for a long time." Lucy says. "And Remy is okay. He's shaken, but he's fine."
"What on earth were you thinking, young lady?!" Forest screamed at Luan.
Luan looked ashamed. Forest waited for an answer.
"I just don't like him at times." Luan says.
"That is no excuse for you to trip him! You were asked to be on your best behavior tonight, and you failed to listen to both me and your mother." Forest says. "Not to mention that you embarrassed your mother in front of her mayoral assistant, of all people! Remy's mother is her second-in-command!"
Luan's eyes widened at the sound of that. Remy was the son of Charity's mayoral second-in-command. And since Victoria saw that, Charity would make Luan's life at home a living hell and her social life would be over when it got out that she tripped the mayoral second-in-command's son at his Sweet 16 celebration on purpose.
Meanwhile, Lisa was at home, testing out her new cheese grater, but it failed.
Remy saw Haiku as she came back in. He hugged her and smiled, grateful she was okay.
She sniffed. Remy smiled at her.
"You're okay now…" Remy says to her.
"Thanks." Haiku sniffed.
They see some cookies as Remy eats one before giving Haiku one.
Later, Haiku got the cake out. Remy gasped at the sight of it.
It says "Sweetest Of Sixteens, Remington Andrew Estevez!" in gold-colored icing.
Remy smiled at the sixteen candles on the very top of the cake. On the sixteenth layer of his cake.
Haiku smiles as the Royal Woods Orchestra plays Remy's birthday song and everyone sings to him.
Remy took this moment in, a big smile on his face. He then wondered how he would reach his candles.
She got a big ladder as Remy smiled. Remy climbs the ladder and thinks of his wish.
Remy wishes that tomorrow was better. He inhales deeply and blows out all sixteen candles on the cake as the room fills with cheers.
Later, Maggie helped Haiku up as Haiku was tired.
"Happy birthday, Remy." Haiku softly says. Remy smiled and kissed her head.
"We'll see you tomorrow, Remy." Maggie says as she carries Haiku home and to bed.
Luke sighs as he knew those siblings messed up his friend's party on purpose.
"Luke, are you really jealous of others for celebrating? Why couldn't you tell us?" Leni asked.
"I tell you this a lot, but you all just brush it off." Luke says.
They look guilty as Luke gets ready for bed.
"I fixed it, I did it!" Lisa says, holding a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
"What do you mean?" Leni asked.
"She finally learned how to make a sandwich." Lincoln says, smiling.
Lisa smiled and ate the sandwich.
