Chapter six
"Andy, if we're going to do this, I need to know what happened. I don't want to accidentally trigger you or do something that would cause you harm" Robert explained, running a hand through her hair.
Andy looked at Robert, tears pooling in her eyes again. "I-"
"Andy?"
"Can I think about it?" Andy asked, playing with her hands, nervous.
Robert gave her a soft smile. "Of course. There's no rush, Andy." Robert rubbed her arm.
"Can I still stay with you?" Andy asked, nervous that he was only willing to take her in because he wanted to start up their relationship again.
"Yes, of course," Robert told her. "I know you know I want more, but I'm willing to wait. However long you need."
Andy nods. "Thank you, Robert. You have no idea how much this means to me."
"It's no problem. I just want you to be okay."
Andy looked down and sniffled. "I don't know how I'm supposed to be okay after this." Andy said, "I know it'll take time to heal. I know it'll take time to get back to where I was, but I just don't know how to do any of that."
"Andy, first things first you'll need to heal. Physically." Robert clarified. "Then you'll need to."
"I know, Robert. I just hate that this happened. I hate that this is my new reality. I hate that that jackass's friend did this to me. Pain is all I feel right now," Andy shed a few tears. "I just want them to pay for what they did to me."
"And they will." Robert and Andy turned their heads to face the door and see Erin.
"Erin? What are you doing here?" Andy asked, surprised at the sudden visit.
"Well, I did say I was going to come back after talking to the DA," Erin told her, giving her a smile. "I have some good news, Andy."
"What is it?" Andy was feeling hopeful, praying that she would hear that she didn't need to go through a trial.
"The DA is willing to settle with them and their accomplices."
"How long?" This time Robert asked a question.
"The three men that were responsible for the attack and assault are going away for class A and B felonies."
"Which is only 10 years" Robert blurted out before Erin could continue.
"I know that. I am a cop after all." Erin told him, a small glare appearing. "The accomplices are only going away for a few years though." Erin saw Andy's face drop. "I know. I know it isn't great but it's something."
Andy looked at Erin and nodded, knowing that it was something. It was something that saved her from having to go to a trial. "I appreciate it, Erin. Thank you." Erin nodded and gave her a small smile. "So, how long are you staying in Seattle?"
"Indefinitely," Erin told her, face turning serious. "I left Chicago's intelligence division to save my mom from something and I got moved to the FBI office in New York for the past year." Erin looked down for a second before raising her head back up. "I wanted a change after my one-year contract was up, so I asked if I could move somewhere else. They said I could pick."
"So why Seattle?" Robert asked and Erin looked at him.
"New York is full of drugs and when I was already recovering from a relapse, I couldn't take it anymore," Erin told them, sitting down on a chair. "I was starting to have a relationship with one of the female agents and it started to get serious and one day on a call I nearly had to do a line when I was undercover. I went to a bar after we caught the bastards and she came in, saw me tipsy, and decided she couldn't take another person in her life causing chaos." Erin told them, feeling ashamed and hurt.
"Who else was in her life tha-"
"-Her sister. Her sister had been to rehab a couple of times and was finally sober for a year when she called her up. She met up with her and later that day she found her sister hit in the head by someone who kidnapped her friend. Her sister got asked by the ASAC of the FBI to go undercover. Long story short, she had to do a line." Erin listened to Andy and Robert gasp. "But she didn't, it just looked like it with a body cam on, she actually just blew it off the table, tricking the guy watching her. She got into a fight with her sister about not really wanting her around anymore and then her sister went to the hospital since she got hit in the head again and her sister went back to the office. I was in the room when her partner showed her sister's drug test results."
"I'm assuming it showed negative for any drugs?"
"You assume correctly, Andy." Erin sighed. "My one-year contract was up a week after all that had happened, so I was glad to be going. I couldn't stick around that drama anymore. I know there are drugs in Seattle but far less than in New York." Erin explained her reasoning some more. "Plus, I love the mountains here. Can just imagine all the hiking I'll do."
Andy nodded. It was silent for a few minutes, all three were stuck in their own thoughts when Andy decided to break the silence.
"So why did you come here to tell me the news? Most cops or detectives would just call."
"It's not often I get to deliver good news, so when I do, I savor it," Erin said, smiling. "Plus, I don't have any friends yet and my boss wanted me to come and tell you."
"Your boss?" Andy asked.
"You're probably familiar with him, Captain Rendon."
Andy looks at her surprised. "Yeah. Yeah, I know him. He used to be my best friend's captain."
"Ryan Tanner, right?" Erin watched Andy nod. "I met him when I was undercover in San Diego. We were busting an illegal gun-tracking gang when I saw him in some paramedic training."
Andy smiled, "So you two talked then?"
"A little. I was always busy, so our conversations never lasted more than an hour, but he told me about his job back in Seattle and a few things about his family." Erin told her, watching Andy's face turn. "I'm sorry, I heard about his death a couple of weeks ago."
"It's okay. It's nice talking about him after so long." Andy gave her a small smile. "Anyways, I'm sure you have work to get back to," Andy asked after hearing Erin's phone go off.
"Unfortunately." Erin gave her a small smile. "I'll phone or text when I have any more updates," Erin tells them, turning to walk out of the room.
Erin was at the door frame when Andy called out. "Hey Erin, what was the girls name?"
Erin turned around and smiled. "Maggie. Special Agent Maggie Bell." Erin told her and walked out of the room.
Andy and Robert sat in silence for several minutes when Robert looked at the time.
"I'm so sorry, Andy but I need to get going," Robert said, letting go of Andy's hand and standing up. Andy nodded and watched Robert leave.
Okay, so I may or may not have been binge-watching every season of FBI in the last couple of weeks, so Maggie is kind of stuck in my head right now lol. I will actually be starting an FBI story soon. That would be about an episode in season 5, referencing events that took place in season four.
I'm so sorry if you wanted more of Andy and Robert in this chapter. Next will definitely have a lot more Andy and less Erin though. Unsure about Robert.
